This restaurant is just amazing. I went with my friends for lunch and food was amazing and rich in flavor. We order samosa, shahi panner, veg Briyani , butter chicken, naan ,and roti. Everything is soooo delicious and service is great . Highly recommended
What a pleasant surprise! The Chole bhature was delicious and authentic. The bhature was light and flaky. Everything was fresh and served with a smile. Very friendly for vegetarians. Great chai as well.
I was heading to Bakersfield and stooped at Punjab Sweets in a small town of Livingston. Dine-in was closed due to pandemic so we had to order food for take out. The food was delicious and Chicken Tikka was awesome.
Once in my friend's house I taste sweet (Khoya burfi ) he told about this sweet shop. Today I bought same sweet, really it is same taste like before very tasty. Too gud .
I have lived in the area for many years and this restaurant (under new management) is one of my favorite places the fish pakora is one of my favorites as well as the paneer tikka masala...my husband loves their butter chicken and biryani rice and the samosa... my only complaint is I keep forgetting they are closed Mondays 😁
The food is always good and have nice customer service. The food taste pretty authentic, and they make it less spicy for me.
One of the best meals I have had in a restaurant. Home cooked taste for Dal Makhani, Saag paneer, Sabzi, rotis. Even the dahi is home made!
I bought food for my whole team from this restaurant. Honestly speaking the food was amazing. The whole team loved it. Would be coming back here again.
Great place to stop and grab Samosa Chaat or take some food to go. The ambiance is lacking but the excellent food more than makes up for it.
Thanks to owner for making such awesome paneer pakkora. I love it I had never taste such awesome paneer pakkora in California. I highly recommend everyone to try once paneer pakkora.
Amazing veg food!!best samosa and shahi panner I ever had and roti is so fresh Best customer service !!! And best gulab jamun
The butter chicken is really good , and chicken Tandoori as well , over all really good food and atmosphere. For sweets highly recommended .!
Amazing food and service as always. The Gulab jamuns and butter chicken are the best. Will come back again.
Amazing food. Loved the Punjabi authentic taste of Paneer tikka masala and biryani. Great service
Fantastic food once again. The most succulent chicken ever. Very flavorful food
Amazing food. Best in town. The butter Chicken was delicious. Would highly recommend.
Stopped by this place when we were travelling. The owners of the restaurant were very friendly, went above and beyond with service, and needless to say, the food was delicious!
Been there plenty of times never disappointed. they really have very good food and sweets
This place is delicious. Best Indian food around the Merced area for sure. Worth the drive from Merced.
This is my favorite place for authentic Indian food! I did not know what to order but the lady was very patient with me and now we always get the "panjabi" chicken which is spicy and it comes with veggies (i.e. veggies appear to be cooked with the chicken). My extended family also tried it and loved the food we brought home from here. They cook your food to order and bc of this, do expect half an hr or so for pick up after ordering... BUT they are on time when they tell you how long is going to take (i.e. unlike other places that may take a bit longer than expected). I have been a customer for a bit over a year and the food is consistent and delicious every single time. I also get curry and the garlic "naam". They take cc and cash.
Great customer service! I was curious about one of their deserts and was given a complimentary sample. Food is amazing! I love the butter chicken and the naan is always on point.
Truly dhaba style restaurant. we visited it on the way back from yosemite. Really nice lady at the counter who offered a laddoo to my daughter seeing her excitement! We had to travel the next day else we would have loved to try more dishes on the menu and pack it for the next day too !
WHAT AN EXTRAORDINARY EXPERIENCE. Excellent food and AMAZING people. Aman, thank you for letting us dine in when the dining room was closed. If we had to walk back to TA,( 0NE MILE ) the food was going to be cold and probably not going to taste the same. Thank you once again for everything. After dinner, Aman asked Sid to give us a ride back to TA. Sid, thank you so much for the ride back to TA. My wife and I will definitely come back. Thank you once again.
The best Indian food I have had in the central valley and probably all of California. The spices and flavors were amazing and I am always excited to buy some sweets to take home as well.
This restaurant is just amazing. Yesterday was my second time at this restaurant with my family. The food is delicious and rich with flavor. The service is also great. Will come back again and high recommend.
For the foodie who knows what authentic food should be like, this place is a must-do pitstop on the route to Yosemite from the Bay area (or return) for Indian food and sweets! Great food and service! Their green chutney accompanying the samosas is nothing like you have ever tried before! The Garlic Naan was crispy and the egg biryani flavorful. And the Indian sweets were so tremendously good! The Gulab Jamun and Milkcake were fabulous! Just the right amount of sweet! Regret not trying the other varieties of sweets there! To drive all the way here from San Jose just to eat the food and sweets is a roadtrip as good and rewarding in itself! Such authentic taste of home with that touch of homeliness and hospitality that is so lacking at almost all Indian restaurants in the Bay area, where most places charge a fortune for half the taste and flavor! Worth checking out this town also, as Livingston welcomes you in Gurmukhi alongside English. Little Punjab in the heart of California!
Food was delicious. The veg biryani and samosas both tasted very fresh. The lassi was light and refreshing. I would definitely stop by again.
I love the front lady she is very kind and welcoming! The first time I dinned in she explained every dish since I was new to trying Indian food . It was delish!
Im not into this food. Came with co workers, now im kinda into this food. Good stuff
I drove all the way from Modesto to try this place out. This was my very first visit to this restaurant and I fell in love with everything about it! Extremely friendly, attentive and patient owners and staff with amazing customer service! The whole restaurant from ceiling to floor was very clean and tidy, including the restrooms. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone who loves to eat authentic Indian food! (Late post)
I've always loved there food! Delicious, flavorful and just the right spiciness. The butter chicken and channa masala with rotis are some of my favorites. One of the best places to get Indian food!

I was referred to this place by a friend who had them cater. My husband, daughter and I loved the chicken masala and garlic nan. Its really good. We grabbed some sweets on the way out and cant wait to try them. We’ll definitely be back!
I came here for lunch while driving on a long trip through California. I wanted something tasty and vegetarian and Punjab Sweets and Restaurant did not disappoint. And it was a crazy good value. I ordered 3 "appetizers" or Sides and it was so much food. Enough for 2 meals for me and came in at $10. Inside dining was closed, takeout only but that was fine with me. I asked for medium spice and it was still fairly mild in my opinion. I might have been fine ordering it spicy. I would come back here if I pass through this way again and next time, I'd love to try out some of their delicious looking sweets.
The food is always good, authentic food 🥘 good prices
If you want the best Indian food, this is your place. The restaurant is cozy, food is like home-cooked so super delicious!! The service is excellent!! I am a regular now and they know regular order!! I highly recommend this restaurant!!
Stopped at Punjab Sweets & Restaurant on our way back from Yosemite to the Bay Area — and it was a hidden gem! 🍛 It's a small, hole-in-the-wall place, but the food was absolutely delicious. We ordered Amritsari Kulcha with Channa, Paneer Pakora, Samosa, and Lassi — all tasted amazing and came in generous portions. Highly recommend stopping by if you're craving authentic Punjabi food. 👍🏼

The good was good but didn't really like the yogurt drink
Most of the menu items are made fresh after order
Food is good, small place good hospitality
Pretty good! I felt like my curry and naan were just a little too oily, but I would try this place again if in the area. Cute little hole in the wall, inexpensive, and friendly service.
I've visited this restaurant for its sweets a few times and it wasn't until tonight I finally made time to dine in. Parking may be limited since the restaurant is located right next to other businesses. I parked at the True Value hardware store's lot only to realize there was parking right in front of the restaurant. The interior is small and clean. The small TV and the different decorations around the dining area made me relax. The food exceeded my expectations. I tried their samosas and their chicken biryani and I'm already looking forward to trying more food from the menu. The food was literally steaming hot and tasted really fresh. So, I was little bummed when the cups of water did not come with ice. Because the food was so hot (not necessarily spicy), I needed to drink something cold. But I managed with a second serving of water. The service overall was good. The waitress was friendly and helpful during my stay. I appreciate her checking in to see if I needed anything else while I was enjoying the food
We were driving on Hwy 99 and looking for indian food. Fortunately we found this place which is in Livingston, CA. We ordered Pakora, Aloo Parata, Chicken Vindaloo, Paneer Tikka Masala, Garlic Naan & Veg Biryani. I guess you can tell we were hungry. Food was typical Punjabi dhaba style and very tasty. We really enjoyed our meal here. Definitely recommend this place if you are in this area.
There is no food like Indian food (for us Indians 😋). This is not a place to enjoy the ambience or service. If you like tasty Indian food, especially on your trips back and forth from the bay area, this is the place to be. We stopped at this place on our trip back from Yosemite, and we were glad we stopped. We ordered Tea, Samosa, Dahi Bhalle Chat, Masala Lassi, Tawa Rotis, Goat Curry, Bhindi Masala, Kadi Pakoda, Mushroom Do Pyaza. Every thing was very tasty and satiating. Must stop folks!. Here are the only downsides to this place: The curd could have been creamier and portions of curries larger. We ordered all those things for a group of 4 cause the portions were small (we were hungry after doing the vernal falls trail and driving immediately back). If these things are worked upon, this place could be a 5*.

Looks tempting not as expected taste and proportion wise
Good but they can be better if they start using best ingredients for food
Only got a few pieces of chicken in my butter chicken. Rice was dryer than other places. Took longer than the time they said it would take by 15 min.
Pretty run down place. It looks like owner is not interested in business. Food is decent but the service makes you not visiting again.

The food was good but there are a lot of flies. In the Summer it's to be expected, but not so many inside an eatery.
This place used to be good. Our last visit was incredibly disappointing. Food and service have gone downhill.
Food not as expected. Asked for medium spice but hardly any spice in food. Garlic naan was dry and has dark burnt specks on them. Rice was not included in order despite ordering tikka masala. Did not enjoy food, customer service was ok. Stick to indian food in Merced.

I go First time today old food...n I order 3 different items all are bad waste my money n time...
I decided to try this place with the Bassi family and honestly it was a horrible experience! overpriced and cold food. Never again!!
One time me eait food one wyear in my mouth nd cut my tung bad food
they take to much and they talk trash
Took wife and family friend out for a little of "covid ain't gonna keep me in everyday attitude". Customer service girl was impatient like it was in style, ah no! Chicken biryani came out, nope, more like Mexican tomato rice, what in the world!? Followed by two tiny portions of goat curry dish and chicken karahi dish. Hello, adults are sitting here. Need I say tinniest naan bread but good size mango lassi, oh,what trickery? A large water downed lassi! Is this place some kind of fun house meant to make me laugh?🤭😶🤔🤨😤
HORRIBLE! This place sucks! Proper/reasonable/ realistic portions DO NOT exist. And when you try to reason with them, they do not listen and argue back. So if you want to pay a lot and not get any food then this is the place to go. Highly recommend you AVOID this place!
Punjab Sweets Livingston California is not good restaurant because if you give them negative reviews they will not take your order but if you give them positive reviews they will take your order… So please everyone make sure to give them positive reviews because they can’t take negative comments on themselves and the type of food they serve to every customer.
Make sure the dark complexion lady don't charge you extra by turning around the touch pay device. Just noticed today she tipped her self extra changing the percentage after seeing my online credit card charges. Very dishonest. That is basically stealing, Never let any cashier hold the device or flip it around. It should be facing the customer. Im reporting this place. Don't care how the food tsstse6. You don't do that to your customer.
Ordered dahi bhalla and tikki, tikki was ok but in dahi bhalla it was just dahi and bhalla nothing else.
I have ordered vegetable biryani and I made sure multiple times to remind them to make it without cheese or any milk ingredient for health purposes. The lady said yes of course we will make it for you without cheese. Before I got the food, she took it to the back to check if there any cheese added. It took her a while and that makes me think she found the cheese and she removed it. When she gave me the order, she confirmed there was no cheese added, I left. While I start eating, I saw a cheese crumble so I start looking closely. Unfortunately it was made with cheese and she lied. This place don't care about customers health. Very disrespectful.

Chicken Tikka was all soup and very small chicken pieces. Feels like this place is trying to save money and cut corners. The girl waitress is not friendly. I dont think they make profits hence the bad attitude.
Probably the worst samosas we have ever had. The shape was there but the dough was raw with 0 flavor. It tasted like they wrapped dough around a raw potato and called it a samosa. The sad part is the lady asked me if I like my samosas spicy. Then proceeded to put no spices after I said yes. My family and friends sat in dismay staring at these grapefruit sized boiled potatoes.
I ordered five samosas from this place and was shocked to find a strand of black hair inside. It was absolutely disgusting. I called the restaurant immediately, but the woman who answered hung up as soon as I asked to speak with someone in charge. When I called back, she couldn’t understand what I was saying and told me to call again around 9 PM because the owner would be there. I did, but no one answered. The next day I called again, and once more, there was no manager or owner available.
Pick up ordee but no plates no spoon ans no napkins. Unprofessional. Please provide disposable plates and spoons cuz you’re not in jalandhar or lundiana any more this is USA California. Be professional
Did not like the food at all. Vegetable biryani had no salt/spice, raita was stringy with no spices either, paneer pakora was decent.the glass of water they gave was full of fingerprints and did not look clean. Mentioned it to the front lady that I did not like raita, she didn’t even bother to say anything let alone the refund. Take forever to make food and honestly was such waste of money! Never going again.
