I love their shakes,burgers and fries. They always have excellent service,great food and the best desserts ever.

Foster Freeze has been a part of Atwater for many years, and we have always enjoyed our experience with ordering some great tasting burgers and a variety of ice cream choices. I always like how you can have your milk shake custom made.

Omg! It was so late and cold out & my sister, her kids, my child & me for ice cream. Let me tell you the ladies here were super nice & patient. Customer service was overall great. Will be going back.

They have Delicious Burgers!! I had the double stacker and fries. I also had a mix of chocolate and vanilla ice cream softee ice cream cone that was yummy!! they have milk shakes, banana splits etc.. The food is excellent and the employees are courteous and prompt.

Great place for a quick old school bite. Ranging from burgers, corn dogs, fries to shakes, twister and simple cones. It’s a great place to hang out as well. Usually fast service and almost never mess up on orders. Their fries are awesome as well as all ice cream treats. Only cons is sometimes the people that run the register can be a bit cranky which messes up their customer service reputation. Aside from that food is what you expect from a solid burger joint, does not disappoint!!!

My mom use to come to this Fosters Freeze during lunch when she was in high school. Shout out to the Class of 69. Then when I was a small child, she would take me here to treat me to a cone! We both live in other cities and went back today for nostalgia. My mom says it still looks exactly like it did when she use to go as a kid in 1968-69, except they didn't have the fans under the awning. We got two small cones and it was still the best! Good friendly staff. Had me a bacon burger with cheese one day and fried chicken sando the next day. Both were great. Fries are good but need salt (I asked and received salt packets 2nd day) pepsi is served here (didnt even asked if they had coke). Pretty much any size soft serve ice cream yer after chocolate and vanilla (cone or cup) and even saw a banana split on menu..plenty of other items but I eat pretty plainly..I have added 2 pics of my chicken sando and fries..do not judge their sando on my pic..I left off onions, tomatoes and pickles so im sure im not doing it justice but it was great sando

They have the best friendly and prompt service of any burger restaurant in Merced Country!! The food is fresh and flavorful... And, their shakes and banana splits can be special/customed ordered... The restaurant and outside eating patio are always clean...

If you've seen one Foster's Freeze you've seen them all. This one features some inside seating as well as many covered outdoor tables. Plenty of parking spaces. Nice updated restroom. Good menu of burgers, hot dogs and ice cream treats. Close enough to Hwy-99 for a meal stop. We stopped here for chocolate malts while driving from LA to Sacramento.

Great burger and milkshake. Nice place to enjoy the first wave of summer weather. Homeless guy bugging people was a problem but staff asked him to move along.

If your from Atwater you know fosters freeze. This is a small burger joint and they sell a lot of ice cream, hence the name. They do have a small indoor area to eat but most people that come here eat outside, as it has a nice and spacious outdoor part. I got myself a burger with 2 patties and it was very good, a proper burger. I also orders a butterfinger twister and it was very sweet and my sweet tooth was hiding. It was very good And a twister is like a thick ice cream shake mixed with candy but you cant drink it through a straw I do reccomend

You can pull your car 🚗 or pickup 🛻 up close to the ordering window or the dining area, so you can keep your eye on it if you have tools or something you want to keep an eye on. I've never eaten inside. I always order at the window 🪟 and take my food to go. My favorite meal to get is a cheeseburger🍔 and an ice cream🍦 They have no problem adding or leaving something off your burger. Food is good, especially the ice creams🍦❗The only negative thing is that it is dirty outside. The outside table area, waiting area and parking area look like they should be pressure washed or at least sprayed off with a water hose once in a while. I don't think it's been sprayed off for years 🤮

This is the best place in town for ice cream, especially twisters. It's not cheap, but the taste is worth it. The last time we ordered burgers to go, they were somewhat cold and the fries were not crispy at all. There can be a line during summer evenings, so be prepared to wait at times.

Good food, I haven't eaten at Foster freeze in 20 years. Yeah I know I need to get out more. I liked the lady who served us and the manager or the owner well they were very friendly 😁. Call me old school, but I love Fosters, I've been eating there for 3 years now, and yes their greasy, but yummy. I'm low carb, so I go there for the fat. Fries are greasy, and so is everything else. Strawberry milkshakes are off the top. Location is the best, cause it's close to where I live. If you don't wanna cook, give em a try.

The food was amazing, The staff was friendly although the downside was that I got a chocolate shake but realized I had gotten the wrong thing so we switched it out but the cashier said that they couldn’t remove a item

Best ice cream ever hands down! BUT avoid the food. I tried 2 burgers, fries, onion rings, and the chicken tenders and all of it was the worst food I've ever paid for. I also got food poisoning from them yesterday. That said they have the best ice-cream around and I gladly drive from other cities to have it.

I only did 4 stars cause it's a bit pricy. I spent like $65.00 for 2 adults and 4 kids no ice cream straps, 5 burgers, 1chicken strip, 5 fries, 6 medium drinks. The food was big though! Alot of fries!! So yes your getting a lot of food.. the burgers are a bit messy but really good. If you get ice cream..my friend bought the ice cream 🍦 have baby wipes handy...especially with the chocolate speed cones. It was melting so quick!!! But it was good! I wish I had taken a picture of the bathroom. My son needed to go and they have a paintbrush as the key holder. The bathroom was so clean! Smelled nice too! And I'm not a fan of public restrooms! The tile floor was terracotta, the walls were like a tan/ brown marble. There was a mirror and paper towels. The staff was friendly and quick we waited like 15 minutes food our food to be done. I will go there again, but when I'm prepared to dish out $65.00.. but sitting there in the fresh air with my family was very nice too so it was worth it.

It's fast food, but they should still take the time to make sure it's cooked. Cold, soggy fries made it into our bag. They made more, but it took longer....

The ice cream is okay but they have changed their recipe and their cones are different. Fries are good but really greasy. My son had a strawberry shake and it tastes more like vanilla than strawberry. It might have just been that it was busy.

I normally love their fries, but the last few times I've gotten them, they have been over cooked. I know they are busy and your food is cooked when you order it so you have to wait, but why are the fries over cooked? My dog wouldn't even eat them tonight.. My burger was good.

Ice cream hamburgers and French Fry's are all good. Ordered a Sunday I didn't like the way they made it putting too much ice cream and not enough syrup .They re did it. No problem. I like that.

the last time i had a very bad experience with the services, rude associates, years ago, so I decided to give another chance, the services was better, however they gotten cheap, my banana split did not have three scoop of ice cream, they had put the toppings on, but had only one scoop. was very disappointed again.

Food is very good. BUT :/ Got 2 chocolate dipped ICE creams...and they instead of asking for your targeted flavor (the ice cream itself)....they did it themselves getting it wrong. Needless to say once served...it's yours. Threw it away😒 Previous times was amazing but not today. Ice cream satisfaction is 2 star of 5. Food. 10 of 10 Most of the time ice cream is good and they ask...not just taking it apon themselves.

The fries are bomb, the cheeseburger was good.... the atmosphere has a lot to be desired... but the people working there were 100% awesome!

My big issue with this location is that is seems they NEVER change their fryer grease and it makes their fries dark brown and inedible. Their burgers are fine, but anything that comes out of their fryer is gross, including the chicken strips. It's an easy fix.

My Dr was watered down the fries were under cooked chicken looked like was cooked in old oil I gave it a 3 because I still ate it.

Not as good as it used to be. Most of the employees aren't very service oriented or friendly. And I was very disappointed with my banana split! Not very well put together and extremely overpriced!

Extremely Dirty, girls that worked there were rude, ice-cream looked old and yellow 0 to no toppings when asked if they can actually put sprinkles on my childs sundae they charged us 25cents more. Would never return here. Has really gone downhill😡

Stopped by around 4:30 on a Wednesday,only a couple customers ahead of us. Ordered a#3 and a corn dog. The girl taking our order repeated the correct order back to us, and we sat down inside and waited for about 15 min(average),went up to grab our tray and we didn't get the corn dog with the order???? When asked she said we never paid for a corn dog!! But she clearly repeated the correct order back to us twice before we paid! Not willing to wait another 15 min, just not worth the time or $$. Service has been not as good as it used to be! Inconvenience and still hungry!!!! Sad, that this place has turned to the dark side for customer service!

My hamburger tasted like it was past its expiration date. Honestly I almost puked when I bit into it. They need to be more on top of expiration dates and freshness!

The last was rude while taking my order and then when I received my order it was completely messed up. Just so you know when ordering kids meals ask them to put them in another bag.

Wilted vegetables. Dry Patties. Unsalted fries. I got all of the above in the same order. The vegetables were brown showing around the edges. Everything here is cooked the night before apparently. The local McDonald's has fresher food at half the price smh

The boss burger was average nothing too special about its taste and ingredients. The ranch was store bought and the fries and onions rings were below average. Although this is a frosty freeze so as I received my dipped cone looking forward to a hopefully redeeming factor, I was utterly dissapointed the chocolate dip was waxy and the icecream was a yellow non dairy kind. The fact that it was a kid's size and we were charged $3 was especially disappointing. Last time you'll catch me at one of these places.

Horrible how can they even call it ice cream when it's just frozen water with flavor and the prices are too high for the quality. Very outdated also. Next time I'll just go to Sonic for a better price on real ICE CREAM.

Horrible customer service. The girls that work there are very rude. I had talked to one of the girls asking for ranch once I had my meal that I paid $25 for. And they wanted to charge me $75 for a ranch the girl there was very rude and she needs better customer service as she was rude the whole time even said we had this problem with you before and I was like what I haven't been here in like four or five months. They really need to train the staff there on customer service and not charge for ranch once someone spends $25 on a meal. It's already expensive, and they want to charge you for extra Ranch ridiculous! And rude staff!

I use to love this place, but the last 3 times I went, I was completely disappointed. Last night, even though my Husband always orders the same burger and it always came with bacon, all of a sudden, it is an extra. The fries looked crispy and brown, they tasted freezer burned, and were not even warm enough to say they were heat lamped. The fries mushrooms are always good, but when you order mushrooms, the least they could do is fill up the bag. The banana split ice cream, didn't taste like real ice cream.

Flies all over!!! Gross and disgusting experience trying to eat your food with hundreds of flies crawling all over you and your food! (And this was while we were eating inside) Where’s the Atwater health inspector??? Interior and exterior looks like it hasn’t been maintained for years… Used the restroom and my 5 yr old daughter scalded her hands from insanely hot tap water. She screamed and started crying so I went inside and tried the water out myself - there is no way that a public restroom’s hot water should be 150F+!!!

I been eating at this place for years never got anything bad but today i ordered chili cheese fries and the beans were real dry like they were leftovers from the day before the fries weren't fresh the onions were just huge pieces never again will i order that again it was my favorite food but today killed it :(

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid. But these last few visits have been horrible. I made a respectful small complaint and the older lady working was very rude and giving me attitude. I came back a week later and took my son to get an ice cream and they messed up the order. Once again the older lady took it upon her self to give me attitude about correcting my order. Well guess what . You just lost a long time customer. I’ll be going somewhere else from now now thanks to your disrespectful attitude old lady

This used to be a family favorite, but not all staff members were wearing masks. I believe the person who was without a mask might have been the owner or manager, as he was an older gentleman who was hovering around the workers as they were taking orders/cooking. I am completely disappointed with this behavior and will not be returning. I will support other businesses who are mindful of our community's health and safety.

This rating is for the ice-cream and their poor service. I received a very messy/sticky ice cream cone. It was dripping ice-cream and full of chocolate. I asked the girl to give me a cup to place it in since I couldn't hold the messy cone. She said that would be extra. If you would serve a clean cone, then I would not need a cup. Besides that the ice-cream was not creamy, like they make it with water. Not going back.
