Opinions de Cafe San Martin Lompoc
Great customer service, very friendly and accommodating. Good was delicious and reasonably priced.
My family has been going to San Martin ever since we moved to The Lompoc Valley in 1966. They have the best home made chips and salsa I have ever had. I always get #8 which consists of a shredded beef taco, shredded beef burrito, ground beef enchilada, rice and beans. The price for all this feast was $5.99 for like 30 years and now is only $7.99, chips and salsa included. Everything is top notch no complaints and Valerie has been our main waitress for many years and she knows we all want our own individual salsas, so good ...Best Mexican food in Lompoc and maybe the nation...
10/10 would recommend. Been coming here since I was a kid and it’s just as good if not better and reasonably priced
This was my first visit to Cafe San Martin. I was surprised about how much food was on the plate. I had to bring most of it home I couldn't eat it all the server was right there to help us with everything we needed. And the prices weren't that much more than a value meal at McDonald's
Fantastic! The best Mexican food ever. We always stop here when we get to this area We have loved it since 1975
We came with a huge group and the service was quicker than I thought it would be. The food was great! :) definitely going back. :)
They were so attentive very polite and the food was excellent and it was so reasonable with the prices I could not believe how much food we got or the price that they charged us I would absolutely recommend going there and I would go back
We love San Martin, our family has been going for decades but it wasn't open during business hours nor were they answering the phone. It sadly may have closed permanently.
food was good service good only 1 waitress had to get her attention we were there. food served fast.
Been going here since I was a kid I wish it was still open for lunch. Best salsa
Great food, friendly and fast service. Owner is very nice and an all around great person.
Great taco Tuesday before 3:00 pm. Three tacos for $5.99. Ground beef, shredded beef or chicken.
Clearly a local favorite. I asked for huevos rancheros and although I didn’t see this on the menu, they happily served me a delicious plate and a nice cup of coffee.
Service was good. And the food was great. Reasonable prices. Cauldnt have been happyier.
My great grandma ran this restaurant in the 70’s and 80’s and it was AMAZING food I don’t know who’s running it but it’s not the same.
First time here and definitely not going to be my last. Amazing food at great prices! Just look at my Chili Verde Burrito
Some of the best Mexican food you can get in the Lompoc area! Excellent service, and really good prices. We com to this place every time we come to town. Stop by and give them a try!! You won't be sorry you did.
Traditional Mexican food. Very kind service

Traditional Mexican food. Very kind service
Ordered my favorite, which is the Chicken Chimichanga. For $7.99 you get a shredded chicken Chimichanga with a side order of beans and rice. Making this a complete meal. Staff are always very friendly and the food most importantly is delicious, flavorful, and the portion is enough to feed two.
I have always loved it here. My family has been coming here for 35 years. My favorites are the cheese enchiladas. And chilli Colorado with half beans. Everyone is so sweet and you get chips and salsa to start with. I recommend giving it a shot
Neighborhood old fashioned standard Mexican comfort menu. Very good quantity and quality food. Great value.
I've never had a bad meal here in my time in Lompoc. So glad they made it through the pandemic. Hours have changed, but the food remains the same.
The service is wonderful and so are the chicken tacos!
My husband & I came here for the first time last week. While the outside looks kind of run down & the area seems a little sketchy, we went in to give it a try. The inside is just exactly what you want an old-time Mexican restaurant to look like. Dark-ish with lots of booths & tables. It has a running fountain & Mexican style decorations on the walls. It's a large place & we were able to choose where we wanted to sit. We chose a booth. We were immediately given chips & salsa which were both amazing! The salsa was so good! And the chips had some seasoned salt on them, which was very different & very tasty. I had the shredded chicken chimichunga (sp?) & my husband had something like bistek ranchero (sorry for my errors in remembering the name/spelling). Both meals came with rice & beans which were both excellent! My chimichunga was amazing! So good! My husband enjoyed his plate but said it lacked a bit of salt. So, he took some of the seasoned salt from our chips bowl & sprinkled that into his meat sauce & he then loved every bite! I could only eat about half of my dish so I got the rest to go. Hubby ate all of his. We will definitely go back. While I & want my same dish again, I have to try something else. Hubby says he wants the fajitas next time. Both of our meals (with sodas) & tip came to about $40 (I think both of our meals were about $15 each). What a pleasant surprise! There was just one waitress working while we were there & she was super nice. We stayed a bit to chat with her before leaving. All in all, I give it an A+ and cannot wait to go back again many more times to try something new each time. I think this will be our new favorite Mexican restaurant in Lompoc.
Chips and salsa are really good. The 2 times I have been there have been great both times. Since it is up the road from a new job our company is doing, I look forward to keep coming back.
A childhood favorite, after my recent visit I can safely say things are just as good as I remember them. I like the homey atmosphere of the place and I've always been a fan of the chicken enchiladas here, absolutely fantastic and just like they were when I was younger. Prices are good for the portions you get, the food as far as I've had it has been great. Not oily, just good cookin'. Service is friendly as always, and I haven't ever had problems there. Only thing I feel has changed for the worse is the rice and beans that usually come as sides, they didn't taste quite the same, and I wasn't as fond of them this time around. Maybe a fluke. Either way, a classic fixture of Lompoc with some good food to boot! I recommend it.
I have been eating there for almost 55 years. The food is always served fast and it is so reasonable. It's a great place to see all of the regulars for go there for TACO TUESDAY so it's a place for all of the regular eaters.

Shreaded beef tacos were good meat was drained prior to assembly sometimes too moist and tacos fall apart....ground beef taco's generally really good this time was a little salty....won't stop me from going back buy wish would be more consistent
Food was delicious as always was there May 2nd had an issue spoke to the waitress about it asked for manager was told there wasn't one asked for a phone number and was brushed off we eat at this restraunt at least 3-4 times aonth
The food tastes very good. Price is excellent! We've come here several times over the years when we're nearby in Solvang.
I liked it, it's okay nothing I'd call exceptional, prices are reasonable, portions are decent, food quality I'd rate about average.
Really good chile verde burrito! Friendly staff. Had lunch there. All 4 of us thought it was great!
Prices are reasonable and the server is friendly and accommodated our quest for substitutions of the menu
Comfortable booths! And I love their orange color 👍🏼Great Salsa and Chips, hot chips spicy salsa. Minus one star for shotty iced tea too much chlorine in their water. But good food just order a beer I guess. Nice server, relaxing and fairly classic in decor.
Who can complain on Taco Tuesday! Your choice of ground beef ($5.00 for 3), chicken or shredded beef ($6.00 for 3). Go check it out... Just do it! Oh and tell Valerie she looks beautiful. She's been there for 50+ years, she'll take care of you. She's has for me since the beginning.
This place may someday soon become a historical landmark, great Mexican food, try the El Grande Chicken Enchilada, they have hot or mild sauce, make sure you specify! The chicken is always just great white breast meat, Yum! The Chimichangas are terrific too! One caveat don’t expect a lavish interior, I do wish they would renovate 🙏🏻.

Only come here on Tuesdays because the service is terrible. Not good. The servers hate their job and it shows. I'll keep coming back for the hard shell tacos... even if they do not have salsas ((weird)) 3 hard shell tacos only $5!
Went to pick up Taco Tuesday special...no beans, no rice, no chips....just tacos...so sad! Tacos were good though!
The food is good but the place is so run-down. The owner needs to invest some money in keeping up the restaurant.
I gave it 3 stars because the salsa was more watery then thick, the guacamole was just avacado. You won’t find horchata in this establishment, but what you will find is a nice authentic atmosphere. I had the enchiladas with a lemonade and a side of guacamole. The food was served hot and delicious, the chips have a very good seasoning. The food is very inexpensive the guacamole was only $1.50 where else do you find that? It’s cheaper to eat here then at home.

Ordered a carry out of taco dinner. (Two tacos, beans rice and complimentary chips and salsa. I got two tacos beans and rice and that's it. Not even salsa with my tacos so had to eat them dry. I don't mind paying prices as long as I get what I paid for. :( Not happy

Went there hoping to get some food but instead I got a hour of waiting in the lobby waiting to be seated. Restaurant wasn't even busy, employees noticed us but yet no one would help.
I was highly disappointed the worst "Mexican " food I've ever had starting with the salsa and chips the salsa was not homemade 😕from a jar. I ordered a wet carnitas burrito it wasn't carnitas it was just pork cubes unseasoned by the way bland as heck my husband got a burrito as well terrible will not return very disappointed 😑
First time at restaurant, staff was friendly and sat us at a table to review menu. We decided to order to go and placed our order. When we got home and went to eat there was a dead roach in our rice. Food was thrown away will not go back
Service was hard to come by and the darkness of the place made me fill like I was in a cave their meat was so salty I couldn't even eat it thier rice and beans bland and well I will never go thier again because I couldn't be waited on in an empty place fast enough for salty meat
Good food. Id rather order out instead of eating there. Service is slow. Kinda sucks
Disgusting food. I feel so bad giving a bad review, but the food was so nasty we threw away our money. And the waitress could care less and did not give us a refund.
I have a feeling this place used to be good, today it is horrible. The service was just terrible, had to wait forever in an empty restaurant. The water was the worst tasting tap water I've ever had. The salsa was watery and chopped with what looked like a butter knife. The main course was okay. I would like to support local businesses but I won't be going back to this one.
My family and I decided to come here for dinner not too long ago, since we remember their food was pretty good. Once we entered the building we could see it was packed, with a few open seats. We stood there waiting to be seated, but not one waitress even acknowledged us. We didn't know whether we should seat ourselves or what. We waited for 5 minutes, and non of the waitresses said anything like hold on or in a minute or even to find a seat. Once eye contact was made, it was never made again. Awful service, I'm pretty sure it's not hard to just seat us then hand us our menus. We left because standing there was just pointless. Also from first impression of the place after not being there in years.... it's gross, I love old fashioned looking restaurants, but this place just looked like it was falling apart. Old tables, chairs, the set up is quite strange. Not ever going there again, I've never had an experience where it's obvious the employes are purposely ignoring you. Awful.
Food is pretty good, cooks do a great job with no help from management or from the owner. They really need a hostess and cashier to take care of the guest instead of being told "sit anywhere" Bad business to start with. This place is run down, old tables/chairs/booths. Careful where you sit yourself or especially if you take children, some of the paint/grout is coming off the walls and end up in your food or the children may entertain themselves peeling it off. Probably has led. I'm surprised the health dept., hasn't made them do the necessary repairs to continue safe food service. I understand this same owner has a couple of other local restaurants and they all follow the same POOR service. won't be choosing these. There are other really great local restaurants to go to. It only takes one time to ck some of these places out.
