This is by far my favorite restaurant in London. I visited for a few days and my friend and I stopped here every single day. The service was outstanding. We especially enjoyed the company the company of Sebastian, Louis, and Wayne. They were very friendly, knew the menu, and gave us great advice on where to sightsee during our stay. The fish and chips are out of this world, and we ordered them every day we were here. Everyone in the restaurant recognized and welcomed us back after our first time dining at the bar. Superb staff, exquisite food, and delicious drinks. I hope to return to London very soon, and this will be my first stop.

The atmosphere was conducive to relaxing and enjoying the dinner. The Bartender was great to talk to and just make it an enjoyable time.

We walked into this pub on a busy afternoon expecting a long wait, but were immediately offered seats at the bar—what a welcome surprise! Despite the crowd, the service was absolutely outstanding. The bartender Wayne didn’t miss a beat—friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. He made fantastic drink recommendations that we never would have picked ourselves, and they were spot-on. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, hearty, and full of flavor. I had the fish and chips and quite possibly the best I’ve had. My daughter got a veggie burger and said it was incredible. Even with how busy it was, everything came out promptly and perfectly. It’s rare to find a place where the energy is high, the service is personal, and the food and drinks are consistently great. We left full, happy, and already planning a return visit. Highly recommend grabbing a bar seat if you can!

David our waiter was absolutely fantastic. He was attentive when he needed to be yet he let us to ourselves so that we could enjoy our meal.It was a tad bit loud because there was a large group but that is to be expected when you’re in a pub.The fish and chips was really good, the beer was the right temperature and the sticky toffee pudding was very nice. The atmosphere and the decor were really nice.

After calling (the hotel) and being told to come on by, they said they were too busy but we begged to be seated and they thankfully found a spot for us. So glad we/I persisted, the food was great, the oysters were clean but a little warm for my taste. Fish and chips were perfect and I even tried a scotch egg I was so hungry! I also ate a veggie burger ^_^

The fish and chips were a solid choice, both the taste and presentation were quite good. From the beer list, I tried the Blue Boar Lager and the Hawkstone IPA. I definitely preferred the clean, refreshing taste of the Blue Boar. What made the experience memorable was the great service. Stefano and Livia were incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout my visit. I highly recommend sitting at the bar if you're dining alone or with a small group, as the service there was excellent.

Out of all the pubs/restaurants I’ve been to this week (and 1 glance at my untapped will give you an idea) this has been the most incredible meal, excellent service and honestly just all around pleasant interactions! Livia has been the most helpful this evening, suggesting alternative beer options, find out what desserts I might like and going above and beyond to make sure I am enjoying my meal + evening. Will definitely be returning again whether this trip or next to hopefully have an identical or even better experience!

With no reservation, the manager made it happen within a few minutes.our server,Rhianna, was welcoming, friendly, professional, attentive. In additional, the meal was great. Mint pea soup, beat salad, burger, steak. Yummy!

With my two years in the UK coming to a close, I thought it was only right to mark the occasion with some proper British food and this was the perfect choice ╰(*´︶`*)╯ The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the food was spot on, and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to round off my time here! The staff were absolutely lovely as well, which made it all the more enjoyable (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) A brilliant send off before heading back to Japan (my heaven) I’ll be leaving with very fond memories \\\\٩( 'ω' )و ////

Had a really nice afternoon here for my birthday. A great venue with perfect decor and ambience for conversation. Starters: Scotch egg (made with chicken) perfectly cooked, unique and highly recommended. Also crispy squid which is servers with mint leaves - make sure you taste the squid and mint at same time - really lovely. Had Ruby Murray for main and very good - potato bread very good and different. Finally, our server Tyrell was superb. Lovely guy who really looked after us, attentive and made my birthday great. Recommended.

Don’t think for one second that I’m exaggerating when I say, I’m impressed. Wayne, was our bartender and from start to finish, made me and my wife feel at home and well taken care of. He was well versed in everything we asked about and had well thought out recommendations. He had everyone around us laughing and enjoying the evening. We had ignorant questions, and some annoying requests that he happily accommodated without batting an eye. The behind the scenes staff needs to be thanked as well. The BLT they made on the fly for us was outstanding! You can tell, he, and the entire establishment really cares about our satisfaction and we will absolutely be back and recommend coming here. The toilets are top notch too. Felt like a private country club. The staff truly takes pride in their work and we’ve noticed it. Well done!

Last minute lunch and it was perfect The burgers and the fish and chips were delicious ! The host was kind enough to squeeze us in on a very busy Sunday when we did not have a reservation

Lovely staff (Roza was so good with us) and amazing food. This is the best fish and chips in the city. They have a lot of options on menu that's probably as good as my option, but you should try the fish and chips hahah

We had dinner at the Blue Boar Pub and really loved it. The place has a relaxed vibe, but the food is on a surprisingly high level – in the best way. It’s definitely more than your average pub food, but still affordable and unpretentious. I had the rare roasted beef salad, which came with roasted baby carrots, green beans, and crispy onion rings – super tasty and really nicely put together. The chargrilled minute steak was also spot on – juicy, full of flavour, and just the right size. The staff were honestly some of the friendliest we’ve met in London – really warm and attentive without overdoing it. It was just a really pleasant evening, a great way to wind down the day. We’d definitely come back!

Louis was our bar tender and he was wonderful. When walk up to the bar we were great with a big smile. He asked how our day and what we would like to drink. As he was making our drinks we started conversation. We shared where we were from (USA) how our travels were going and shared his hobbies and we shared ours. We enjoyed our time there with so much that we came back the next evening to see him. He even help me take a picture of our granddaughters new Paddington Bear we bought for her.

Step in randomly before going to Westminster Abbey. Wasn't expecting anything, but food. WOW, the scotch egg is just so goood and lovely.

A great choice for a family brunch / lunch - lots of great choices for seating, relaxed, unhurried and really warm service! There was genuinely something for everyone on the menu - the add ons and extras were generous portion wise and these felt like decent value for money. The children's menu was from about £12 but again portions good and ingredients good quality. Coffee was superb, food was excellent and staff lovely. The whole place was pristine (including the toilets!) and we felt really comfortable throughout our lunch. Next time we would consider the bottomless drinks options ... £25 for 90mins!

Everything was excellent from start to finish. The beef Wellington was outstanding — perfectly cooked, rich, and full of flavour. The Bloody Mary was equally impressive, well balanced and expertly made. Great food, great drinks, and a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

We were greeted warmly by our server Riarna who took our orders and preemptively asked about allergies or other intolerance. The Sunday roast section even had a vegetarian "roast" and there was also vegan and vegetarian options on the menu. She then proceeded to bring us a pint of ale and a pint of cider so full to the brim I was amazed it didn't spill. Party of 2 on a Sunday evening, we (of course) had roasts. Both the chicken lemon thyme and the 28 days aged beef roast were delicious. The beef was medium rare as suggested by our server. The roasted potatoes... Just incredible; soft inside and a crunchy shell. The portion sizes were quite generous and we couldn't bring leftovers (which broke my heart) as our hotel doesn't have a fridge. Later there was a musician (voice/ guitar) who came in for a bit of a show. The staff seemed happy and relaxed (which is a good sign in my opinion) and Riarna also gave us tips and tricks for the rest of our stay in London. 10/10 would absolutely recommend.

This was our second visit, both times on a Sunday afternoon for a roast, it's one of the best roasts I've had to be fair. The bar/pub is really nice, very up market feel, toilets are immaculate and all the staff are very friendly and professional. Hawkstone Larger on draft is always welcome and the cauliflower cheese was unbelievable!!! I'm really keen to get the recipe???

We had a great meal the food was very good and the service from Rihanna was great. The drinks were excellent they had a fully stocked bar and were able to make most any drink. The reason I mention this is because 🇬🇧 🇮🇪 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 seem to worship Beer and Whiskey so much they seem to forget there is a world of choices out there.

Incredible food and cocktails. Wayne prepared us the best Margarita and agreed with us that their Fish and Ships were amazing!! Food is to die for and cocktails are the best in town!! It’s just become my favorite pub in London! We’ve been there 3 days and can’t wait to come back to find the same people and food!

Roza was a great waitress! She gave sound advice about the menu, drinks, and even nearby landmarks. She made sure my husband I were taken care of while at the restaurant and during our first time visit to London. Her recommendations were spot on and we loved the food and drinks we got! Would highly recommend visiting this pub and getting served by her again.

Riarro was exceptional! The best server we had a whole time in London on our vacation. She is very warm, upbeat and engaging. I like the way she was confident in her menu recommendations and was “spot on”. I had the pea and mint soup and it was so delicious. I don’t cook a lot at home but I really want to learn how to make this soup! Haha! We had a relaxed, enjoyable time at your restaurant and she was part of the fun and experience.

We had dinner and a couple of beers. The place is a little pretentious. We asked for a window table but we're informed that they were reserved and were shown to a table that was way too close to the one beside us and we could hear their entire conversation. The service was OK, I got the impression that it was their first night on the floor. I had two pints of Guinness and it was better than I expected however, I had to ask them to ensure the head wasn't as big on the second one. The food was enjoyable but over priced for the quality we were served.

We had a wonderful lunch, served by Bonnie. Our toddler was feeling active, and all the wait staff was friendly and patient with him. Our food was excellent— I got the dirty burger, and we would totally go again!

First time here and we absolutely loved it! Relaxed, cosy and professional feel and the staff were really incredible. Khushal was our main waiter and went the extra mile for us I felt. Even the housekeeper in the Ladies was unbelievably helpful. Food delicious and we will definitely be back. Good for a special occasion or something relaxed

We had a great experience at the Blue Boar Pub, the place is very clean and beautifully decorated - the atmosphere is great, they even have live music! We felt very well looked after at the bar by Mark and Louis, where we had a cocktail to start and then got moved to a table and received great service from Rosa - the squid started was great and the Sunday roast as lovely and very tasty! Much recommended.

A wonderful evening at The Blue Boar Pub. Food was delicious, and the atmosphere was fun! The highlight of the evening was Mark (bartender) - Mark is the gold standard of bartenders! Warm and inviting! Handled so many competing priorities with poise and charm. Makes the best Old Fashioned I have ever had! Highly recommended!

Went here for my mum's bday as a group of 12 including kids. We were greeted and seated in a good manner and fairly quickly. Our waiter was great. Really friendly, patient and attentive. Always asking if we needed anything extra and if everything was good, but he wasn't overbearing at all. The food was excellent! Sunday roast all round and it was delicious! Plenty of food and filling. Lots of gravy too. I couldn't fault the food at all and everyone was super happy. Couldn't squeeze in a dessert, but maybe next time.

I recently visited Blue Boar Pub in London with my fiancé, and we had an exceptional experience from the moment we walked in. The host (ushas) was warm, welcoming, and made sure we were comfortably seated right away, which set the tone for a wonderful evening. A special mention goes to the bartender (Louie), who was absolutely outstanding. Not only were the cocktails crafted with great skill, but the bartender also took the time to recommend drinks based on our preferences each one was spot-on. The service felt personal and attentive without being intrusive. Overall, the hospitality from both the host and the bartender made our visit truly memorable. We left feeling well taken care of and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended!

David brought us our cocktails. He was so warm, friendly and professional. Helped us choose a great selection of cocktails and took a family photo of us. He made our evening in London so memorable. Give him a raise, he is a fantastic asset to your pub! Ciara, Mat, Rosie and Saoirse

I chose this pub as it’s based in Westminster where my friend who was visiting from Buffalo was staying and I also wanted her to try a Sunday roast. The food came pretty quickly and the service was great but only small criticism is that it the food came lukewarm. The Yorkshire pudding was slightly burnt and I had to ask for more gravy but the potatoes were delicious and so was the duck which is the option I went for.

Food are not bad here except for the pints of shrimps which was way too fishy for our taste. Service wise felt rushed as they just served everything at the same time. Nice clean washroom and seats of the restaurant, not a bad place for lunch or having a break from visiting Westminster Abbey.

Good menu and excellent cocktail list. Service team behind the bar was great. Had a bit of an order issue but all resolved and all good. Would visit again.

Very classy place for a dinner. They had a singer with the acoustic guitar and he was very good. Albeit we could barely hear each other talk, no not ideal if you are in a large group. Had dinner here today with a group of friends. The decor is very pleasant and the toilets are spacious and very clean and provide hand cream and cotton towels, so environmentally friendly. My burger was ok, nothing special and on the expensive side, £24. One friend had the vegan burger and everybody else had roast, but they run out of beef, which is disappointing and we pre booked over three weeks ago. Roast was £34 so quite expensive. All the staff are wonderful, very polite and helpful.

Very nice upscale restaurant/ Pub. They serve a Sunday afternoon AND evening Sunday Roast. Unfortunately the quality of the roast beef and leg of lamb left much to be desired. The Yorkshire Pudding that accompanied the roast was burnt. On the plus side the side veggies were excellent as was the sticky pudding w/ vanilla ice cream for dessert. Moreover the fish and chips was an outstanding version, moist cod, crisp chips.

I'm probably being generous for the roasts I had on my trip but there were some redeeming qualities. The sirloin is advertised as being with Red wine and bone marrow sauce (the reason I picked it) but I'm 90% sure I was served the same gravy as my wife's porchetta. I was also initially excited as I was asked how I'd like it which only one other restraurant had offered as most roasts are cooked in advance. Despite asking for medium rare, my roast was quite grey and dry. I mentioned this but refused a recook as I suspect they have already cooked it past medium during the roast and no amount of finishing could fix that. Despite this refusal a whole new roast come out when I was nearly finished which I obviously refused, full already. The other big disappointment was the Yorkshire pudding which was room temperature and VERY dry. I suspect it was cooked in advance and left out. The veggies on the other hand were quite good. In fact the parsnips were easily the best Id had. Tender and flavoursome. I had to ask for my Laphroaig 3 times and it came on the rocks instead of neat as I'd asked but it was the right scotch and it did work very well with the roast. My wife enjoyed her porchetta, the atmosphere was very nice for a pub, and the wait staff tried earnestly.

Enjoyed a fresh pint of Guinness at the bar, but with no other patrons next to me, service was a tad slow. Nice decor, clean and pleasant. I agree with other reviewers that the food prices seem overpriced. Expect a discretionary 12.5% fee to be added to the bill. Just seems like a ploy to overcharge tourists.

We came in for a Sunday roast on 3rd August. We arrived without reservations and there were a lot of tables available. We ordered the Sunday roast for the 6 of us. This included beef, chicken, and Porchetta but mostly beef. The beef was downright disappointing. Extremely chewy. I am baffled by how a restaurant can charge so much and completely ruin something as iconic as a beef roast. Almost every bite was a struggle to chew and we had to sneak the inedible parts into a paper towel. As far as the beer and ciders, they were good. The service was very good all round, very friendly and courteous. Overall, I don't think I advise anyone to come here for a Sunday roast. The beef is just inedible.

The Battered Cod was true Pub quality, crispy, flaky, and flavorful. It was downhill from there. The lamb arrived lukewarm, at the same time as the appetizer. My lamb got colder rushing through the bone marrow. Lamb a little tuff so asked for a steak knife. Ten minutes later, it arrived, my lamb colder. I flagged someone down to ask for a half pint, after ten minutes I asked the manager. Live music was meh. To add insult to a frustrating and cold-lamb night, there’s a mandatory service charge. She insisted, I regretfully paid and left. I expected more. Skip the hype, go to the pub next door for food just as good, better service at a fraction of the cost.
