O Ver St James

OVA in St. James is a hidden gem. It’s just off the main street, with beautiful interiors that make it feel instantly special. We started with the red tuna tartare and truffle arancini, then had the sea bass and the prawn ravioli, the ravioli was my absolute favourite. Portions were perfect, and we finished with Italian ice cream topped with hazelnuts and cherries. Delicious food, gorgeous setting, the perfect spot near Piccadilly Circus for authentic Italian.

The Juliet cocktail was light and floral with a subtle sweetness that danced on the palate, while the Rosa Antica offered a refreshing, slightly tart profile with delicate herbal notes, both perfectly crafted and incredibly satisfying. Went there expecting pizza and discovered they’ve switched to traditional Italian cuisine only. Ended up having the best bolognese I’ve ever had. Recommend!!!

Loved this spot! After work it felt like stepping straight into Italy 🇮🇹✨ Beautiful vibe, stylish inside and lovely outside seating with a nice view. The food was bellissimo — starters were amazing (gazpacho 👌), prawn ravioli super tasty, and cocktails on point. Definitely coming back!

Top-notch Italian dining in the heart of London. First time at ‘O Ver St. James, and I was genuinely impressed. The highlight of the evening for me was the Parmigiana di Melanzane — rich, comforting, and perfectly balanced. The “San Marzano” tomato sauce was intensely flavourful, the smoked mozzarella added just the right depth, and the aged Parmigiano brought it all together. Every bite felt like a warm hug from a nonna in Campania. Every dish we tried was fresh and full of life, just like in Italy. Big thanks to Nicolo, Esther and Gabriel for the brilliant service — professional, friendly and really made the evening feel special. Will definitely be coming back.

The food was outstanding — we ordered fresh burrata with cherry tomatoes, prosciutto with melon, homemade ravioli, and pasta, and every single dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The burrata was creamy and paired perfectly with the sweet tomatoes and basil, while the ravioli had a rich sauce that tasted authentically Italian.

Excellent service especially Pablo who was really sweet. felt like a quick escape to Italy 🇮🇹 We started with a light and refreshing tuna tartare, followed by Parma ham that melted in the mouth — pure quality. The highlight? Definitely the red prawn ravioli — delicate, silky, and packed with rich seafood flavour. The sea bass was perfectly pan-seared, with crispy skin and soft, flaky flesh. Every dish looked elegant and tasted even better. Ideal for a date or slow lunch in central London, this spot’s understated luxury really impressed us. Would go back just for the pasta.

We had a great evening at O'ver St James! The atmosphere is relaxed but elegant, I think it's ideal for both casual dining and special nights out. What really stood out was the quality of the cocktails, you have to try the "golden hour" for me it was the best, really good!!! Very Italian, with pizzas on the menu and various pastas, I really liked it, we ordered the bolognese which was delicious. The starter was burrata, which was great too!!! The service was friendly and efficient, Ester was marvellous, and the staff were more than happy to recommend based on our preferences. I highly recommend this place!!

Had a fantastic time at ‘Over St James - the food was a blast. The pizza was insane - haven’t tried such a great pizza in a while 😍🍕 loved the starters and drinks too - we chose tuna tartare and a beef carpaccio. Tried the artichoke liqueur for the first time (Cynar Spritz) - never seen it anywhere else in London. A perfect date night and atmosphere on a lovely Friday night loved our visit and hoping to come back again soon. If you are an Italian 🇮🇹 food lover - drop in and I’m sure you’ll be impressed! 😍

As an Italian, this is one of my new favourite Italian restaurants in London! Great selection of hot and cold starters, pasta and pizza! Highlight of my dinner was the ‘a piccantella pizza. Neapolitan style of course and it was soooo good! Definitely recommend’O Ver if you fancy eating Italian in London.

Had an absolutely lovely evening at O Ver. The staff were very polite, helpful and attentive. The starters were delicious, no holding back on the meat. We decided to share a pizza having the Notti di Primavera. Absolutely 10/10 pizza, sweet and cheesy. We finished with a tiramisu, which was swept away in seconds. A lovely, cozy place tucked just off the main road. Would highly recommend.

The eggplants were cooked to perfection—not burnt, just the right texture and flavor. It was a comforting, flavorful dish that left a lasting impression. The pasta was packed with flavor. The lemon blended beautifully with the sauce, creating a light yet rich taste that was absolutely perfect. As for the pizza, the tomato sauce was rich, hearty, and delicious—definitely not your average pizza. It was bold and satisfying. The service was excellent—attentive and friendly without being intrusive. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, making it a great spot to enjoy a peaceful meal. Beautiful decor and atmosphere! We enjoyed a lovely relaxing dinner - our favourites were the truffle arancini balls and the prawn ravioli in a lemon sauce which we are still dreaming about today. We also loved the nutty crunch and the sweetness of the cherries in the croccante al amarena ice cream dessert, which we hadn’t tried before or seen at other restaurants. We’ve been here before and decided to come back because we had a very pleasant experience. The food was great, and the service exceptional. The guy who served us was very attentive to details, polite, and friendly. The cocktails were very balanced and elevated the whole experience.

Warm indoor setting with candlelight and soft jazz. The wood-fired oven in view adds charm. Terrace seating comes with heaters and throws for those who prefer to stay outside with a drink. We had the Parmigiana, Parma pizza, Calzone, and Carne beef pasta, paired with a bottle of red wine. The food was fresh and full of flavour, and the atmosphere lively with the mix of music, conversation, and cozy lighting.

We enjoyed a lovely pre-theatre meal here. Food was great, the service was friendly and there was a relaxed atmosphere. Two of our party had food allergies and these were handled with care. When they realised it was my birthday they offered us complimentary drinks which was a lovely surprise. Recommend this place and would return.

What a shame. I used to frequent this restaurant whenever I was in London, but not anymore. The welcome and service was good as always, but that's about it. I was looking forward to their excellent pizzas, but to my surprise they no longer offer any pizzas on their menu and removed the entire oven. That was an unfortunate discovery, but I went ahead and ordered a starter (bruschette) and pasta. Unfortunately those also declined in quality. The bruschetta was extremely salty and covered in so much oil that it completely soaked the bread. I also found exactly one quarter of an olive on it, how generous. They do give you two large pieces, which is a plus. Then came the pasta. I had paccheri with black cod, n'duja and tomatoes. The pasta was just barely cooked and handled so carelessly that only two of them ended up on my plate in one piece. Those large pastas are difficult to keep whole, but at this pricepount you do expect them to. That in itself wasn't much of an issue, but the sauce was again incredibly salty and contained just one miserable piece of nduja. I was so disappointed that I did not order any dessert.
