Opinions de Bombay Delight London
Came in on a Sunday evening - busier than expected but was quickly looked after. All the staff were very friendly and attentive - especially Anchara. Thanks so much!
wonderful experience, super food and brilliant service from Achana (sorry if I've spelt that very incorrectly) and all of the staff. highly recommend and will certainly be returning.
Me and three friends went to Bombay Delight for dinner, and honestly, it was such a great experience. The moment we walked in, the place felt warm and inviting. The decor is colourful but tasteful, and the seating was really comfortable—made it easy to just relax and enjoy the evening. But the best part was definitely the food. We tried quite a few dishes, and everything was fresh, tasty, and just felt authentic. The Achaari Paneer Tikka had a nice char and a good bit of spice. The Dal Makhani was rich and creamy, clearly made with care. The Lamb Nihari was super tender and full of flavour, and the Fish Fry was crisp without being greasy. The Prawn Koliwada was a standout — crunchy and packed with flavour. We also had a few different breads: Tandoori Roti, Garlic Naan, and the real winner for us — Roomali Roti. It was soft, thin, and just perfect. The drinks were great too. We had a couple of Old Fashioneds and French Martinis, which were well made. The Maharashtrian Solkadi was a nice surprise — refreshing and just right, which you don’t get very often. And the desserts? They were amazing. The Rasmalai Cake was soft and tasty, the Gajar ka Halwa had just the right sweetness, and the Gulab Jamun was warm, syrupy, and delicious. The service was spot on too — friendly and helpful without being pushy. The staff knew their stuff and made sure we had everything we needed. All in all, Bombay Delight really hits the mark — great food, nice atmosphere, and good service. We’ll definitely be back and would recommend it to anyone who loves good Indian food.
We had a wonderful evening at the restaurant – the atmosphere was lovely, and the food was absolutely delicious. The only small downside was the noise, which made it a bit difficult to have a conversation. A special thank you to our waiter, Pavan – he was incredibly attentive, friendly, and responsive throughout the evening. His excellent service made our experience even better. We would definitely visit again!
We recently celebrated my mum’s birthday at Bombay Delight, and it was a truly delightful experience from start to finish. The menu offered a wide variety of choices, especially from the Maharashtrian section, which featured an impressive selection of vegetarian options. We were particularly impressed with the appetisers and the fish dishes beautifully cooked and full of flavour definitely a must try! The Bombay Delivery later was another highlight: light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. Service was exceptional, with special thanks to Pavan, who was warm, attentive, and made our evening feel extra special. The atmosphere was calm and quiet, making it easy to enjoy conversations and soak in the moment. The sweetest touch was a surprise birthday chocolate cake for my mum such a thoughtful gesture that made the evening even more memorable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic Indian cuisine with great service in a relaxed setting.
We had a very nice meal here. The atmosphere was very good, and our server Vru was very attentive, kind and thoughtful. She made us feel like nothing was too much trouble, and we felt well looked after. Thank you Vru! It was a very nice experience, and lovely food!
You know that feeling when you walk into a place and it just clicks? That's Bombay Delight in Wimbledon, London. The vibe is spot-on, perfect for any occasion. And the food? Seriously, every dish is a winner, packed with those amazing Indian flavors you crave. It felt like I am back in Delhi. On top of all that, the service is genuinely great. It’s a must try!
Always a good sign and vibe when the place is packed. Very welcoming staff, friendly but professional. The menu was explained in detail, the right recommendations given. Wonderful culinary experience, we'll be back for sure!
I came to Bombay Delight to celebrate my birthday with my friends (5 people). We all are originally from different parts of India. I chose the venue because when I saw the Bombay street food and Maharashtrian menu online I was sold. The atmosphere in the venue is simple but chic. The staff is attentive and kind and gave good suggestions about portions that helped us understand how much to order. The food is SO good that I am worried that I will spend half my salary there by visiting it frequently. Taste of the food is authentic Indian taste! We had tandalachi (rice flour) and jowar (millet) bhakri (bread)- still can’t believe they have it on the menu!!, Ratnagirichi Bhajlel kolambi (prawns west maharashtra style), Bharleli VangI (stuffed aubergine)- my childhood memories came alive , Pandhara Rassa (white chicken dish), Veg Maratha (cottage cheese and mixed veg dumpling curry) for mains. Starters we had kasta kachori, chaat bombs, aloo chaat (next time I am going only for all the street food)!!!. Each dish was tastefully flavoured & delicious and absolutely spot on. We were stuffed but couldn’t stop repeating the same order and ate our hearts out. Then we had puran poli (I am still in shock that it is on the menu)!!and cutting chai for dessert. I felt like I am going to cry out of sheer joy! I am in food coma and in a blissful state. Being a Maharashtrian, I could not have asked for a better birthday! To top it all off, the restaurant got a cake for my birthday which was delicious too! Pawan who was tending to our table was amazing and attentive. Thank you very much Bombay Delight for the cake and making my birthday so special. I will definitely be visiting soon and spreading the word! I will highly recommend this place to Indian food lovers, especially to those who want to try authentic Bombay street food and Maharashtrian food! Btw the old fashioned was great too!! Starters were so good, we forgot to take photos once we started eating 😂 Cheers 🥂
Fantastic place - highly recommend. The food, service and personal touch exceeded my expectations and was exceptional. The people there are great and the food was along the best for its cuisine. They even brought out a complementary desert at the end to commemorate a special occasion.
The most authentic Indian experience I've had in London. The atmosphere is very nice, staff are incredibly friendly. Food has so much good flavour. The chicken korma comes with chicken thigh and not breast which is what I am used to just a warning but was still delicious. Highly suggest people visiting.
We had a wonderful dining experience! The food was absolutely delicious and perfectly captured the authentic flavours of India. The warm and inviting atmosphere created the ideal setting to enjoy our meal. The staff's attentiveness and deep knowledge of the menu made the experience seamless and enjoyable. If you're unfamiliar with Indian cuisine, don't hesitate to ask for recommendations—they're always happy to help. Thank you for providing such a fantastic experience! This was my second time here, and I’m already looking forward to returning soon.
I pass the Bombay Delight everyday on my way to swim 100 yards from the restaurant. Decided to book a table for 4 for my 70th birthday but on the day we were whistled down to 2 my wife amd myself. We hae eaten at the Bombay delight many times which continues to be our daviurite Indian and can go back to when it was called Confuscius. Yet again we were not dissapointed we started with the samosa chat and dossa crepe before moving on to a tasty chicken korma just slightly better than when I make it at home and a chick pea vegetarian dish for my wife. On arrival at the restaurant I advised as their were only 2 of us a celebratory cake but I'm glad they still quietly brought over the oozy chocolatey brownie topped with cream and strawberries. Yum Finished off meal with some Masala chai tea and we were happily on our way. We will return I. early November when we have friends over from Spain. Service was yet again very good and nice to see familiar faces on duty see you then Fernando Nieto
We stumbled across this restaurant in March whilst on a trip to London and loved it so much we purposely chose to stay in Wimbledon, during our latest London trip so we could go to Bombay Delight again! The food is exceptional, full of flavour and the staff very warm and friendly. We went for happy hour drinks before our 7pm table and the cocktails were excellent! Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough - the 5* rating actually doesn’t do it justice. We are here for 3 nights so may go every night!!
Excellent food and great atmosphere. Prem looked after us extremely well.
Good location at the end of the Broadway. Lots of seating so can mostly get a table. The staff is polite, efficient and warm. The food is excellent authentic Indian - in taste, portion size and presentation! Popped up on Deliveroo so we decided to check it out and will now conveniently do takeaway and dine-in when we can. Ambience is a mix of Indian and modern decor and had a great time with selections from the Brunch menu.
How many times do you leave MORE than the service charge because everything was so great? We don’t know how B.Delight manages to keep its standards consistently so high, but it has been doing since we discovered it in early 2022. The food was delicious as ever, generous portions, fantastic waiting staff, amazing manager. The starters are the stars we feel. Great place for get together. Bombay Delight continues to deliver consistently a 5 star standard right here in Wimbledon! No need to head into central! Let’s keep this gem!
Been to a temple near Bombay delight, somehow came across this restaurant. It was a fine dining one indeed. The food is excellent. Could have a better portion size though. But loved their ambiance, service and the food . We ordered seek kabab, garlic nan and their BBC . I’ll never forget the BBC ( Bombay butter chicken) just perfect! The flavours and the consistency and the chicken just perfect 👌. Awesome garlic nan too . Tried Butter chicken and garlic naan after ages—every bite felt comforting and familiar. Creamy, well-spiced curry with soft, flavourful naan. Really enjoyed it It was indeed a memorable
Lovely evening celebration for wife's birthday. Archana did a fantastic job waiting on our table. Rest of staff where superb and food was amazing as where the cocktails! We will be back for sure
Warm welcome and got a seating for my daughter’s birthday dinner. The attending team were pleasant, Archana and team. And were kind enough to serve a surprise dessert with a candle for my 10 year old.
I've reviewed a few Indian spots, including Dishoom etc. This place nails the customer service, food is a solid 8/10. As I'm used to New Zealand Indian food, I was looking for a good kick and creamy curry, perhaps a little on the less creamy side here but flavour is spot on. We will be back, thanks, Dan and Tania.
Really lovely dinner here - it’s a warm quite jazzy atmosphere inside, and the staff who looked after us were absolutely lovely, looked after us really well. And the food! The dishes we ordered were fabulous, starters and mains, the menu had quite a few interesting dishes you don’t see in every Indian restaurant. They also had a nice special tennis menu on for the championship. We also had some cocktails which were delicious and big too. We’ll be back :)
I have discovered the restaurant by chance when coming to Wimbledon. It was such a fantastic Indian restaurant that has various selection of menus and even has special regional menu from time to time. If you are looking for some new exciting Indian dishes, do come in for a try. I have been there twice in the past few weeks as I can’t get enough of their awesome food. The taste is was great and reasonably priced. The service was impeccable too.
My partner and I came to Bombay delights because it had such great reviews so we had to see for ourselves. We were not disappointed! From the moment we arrived the service was impeccable. We ate from the monthly food festival menu and their a la carter menu - both were delicious. Highly recommend Bombay Delights. Great food, great atmosphere, great service!
The best Indian food I've had locally. Superb flavours. Really kind and friendly staff. Clean (even the bathroom which is rare)!
My third time dining at Bombay delight and I’ve never been disappointed, food is always on point. Archana and Janice provided first class customer service and were very attentive to every detail
Wow, just wow! This place is serving some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had in London. The flavours were incredible . If you’re in the city, you have to check this place out. 10/10 highly recommended!!
Absolutely outstanding meal at Bombay Delight! We ate at Bombay Delight last night and it was genuinely one of the best Indian meals we’ve had in a long time. Every dish was packed with flavour, perfectly balanced, and clearly made with care and quality ingredients. The starters were exceptional – beautifully cooked, full of depth, and paired with vibrant chutneys that really lifted each bite. The dosas were crisp and golden, the fillings rich and comforting, and the sauces were fresh, fragrant, and addictive. The grilled dishes were tender, smoky, and expertly spiced – nothing overpowering, just bold, confident flavours done right. Presentation was great, portions generous, and everything arrived hot and perfectly cooked. On top of that, the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. If you’re looking for authentic, delicious Indian food that feels both comforting and exciting, Bombay Delight is a must. We’ll definitely be back very soon!
Fantastic restaurant. Brem our waiter was exceptional. Informed us about happy hour when we arrived and also reminded us when it was coming to an end. He was friendly and attentive. Food was wonderful. Had the biriyani and the scallop curry. Both were delicious.
This place is a true beacon of customer service! My group ordered food, and I ordered a drink. I did this due to allergy fears. The waiter took the time to understand my concern, asked what I would like, and then assured me it was halal and got all the details in how its made, oil and ingredients to ensure its nut free, they also told the Chef to take extra care. I wasn't 100% enjoying the dish, so I ate one or two of the 5 given, didnt complain. Waiter took time to understand what I didnt like, I assured him its okay and i didnt want to be rude, he insisted to fix the issue. Waiter took note of the undercooked/seasoning issue, and gave a free set of 5 kebabs cooked exactly how I requested. Im stunned. Unbelievable customer service and brilliantly cooked/seasoned kebabs. From a Pakistani, well done Bombay Delight. I will be coming again. The dish with my drink and service charge was circa £20, not too pricey 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our waitress, Janice, was an absolute standout — warm, quick on her feet, and genuinely attentive. She guided us through the menu with great suggestions, and every recommendation hit the mark. We’re visiting from Washington, DC and this was our first family get-together in town, so the meal meant a lot to us. Coming in with a party of 12 (including an infant), we couldn’t have asked for better service. Everything ran smoothly, the food was excellent, and the whole experience felt effortless. Bombay Delight made a meaningful night even better. Highly recommend.
Thanks to Prasad and the team for making my Dad's 80th birthday so special. Authentic Indian food and great service. Including a cake that was an unexpected end to the meal and very generous. Thank you for a great time!
“This place already has a nice vibe, but Mr Sagar made it unforgettable. Their kindness, patience, and warm smile turned a simple meal into a memorable experience. Staff like them are the reason customers come back. Thank you for such amazing service I would love to be here whenever I’m in London
What a delightful experience at Bombay Delight! Amazing fresh food and generous portions!! Very authentic! I was served by Harshita and she did a wonderful job! I will definitely be back!! Thanks so much ☺️
Recommend for vegetarian / vegan. Food was tasty. We celebrated my Dad's birthday here and they were very helpful - we brought cake and they were able to surprise him by putting a sparkler on it and bringing to the table.
Excellent food and even better service at Bombay Delight. Aditya went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. His friendly attitude and professionalism really stood out. Will definitely be coming back!
Bombay Delight recently hosted a fundraising event for me, and it was a great success. Laxman, Ram, Ajay and the team were superb and very helpful in the run up to the event. They provided helpful guidance on how the evening could run, suggested a menu which fitted our budget and most importantly the service on the night was too notch and food was amazing. Some of the feedback attendees passed on "Everybody around me, I could hear them all complementing the food and the service and the setting. Top rate." "The food was excellent and all who I spoke to agreed. They took care of us and really good service." "Food was really good quality and plentiful." Would definitely come back for another event, and for a tasty lunch or dinner!
First time here. Greeted by a very professional manager. Place is clean and has good aircon. Service very professional, polite and efficient. Now the best part….the food! It was totally delicious. The bbq lamb chop starters were extremely good. Give this place a try as you won’t be disappointed. I had a feeling it was going to be good when I saw two very well dressed Sikh families eating in the restaurant. I wasn’t disappointed and I don’t think you will be too!
If you’re vegetarian and love Indian food, Bombay Delight is the place to be. The veggie selection is superb — not just the usual suspects but genuinely creative dishes done really well. The paneer lababdar is rich and indulgent, the aloo gobi has a lovely smoky depth, and the dal tadka is pure comfort food. Portions are generous, the spice levels are always on point, and the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We’ve been coming back regularly for months now and the consistency is impressive. Can’t rate it highly enough.
Had a lovely meal here. Good customer service and staff were attentive. Food was nice, the lamb biriyani was presented nicely with a naan top. Lamb was a bit on the chewy side. Good selection of poppadoms in a basket and butter chicken main was delicious. Spacious dining layout.
I'd really recommend this place if you are in need for some posh-ish Indian food. Good menu and authentic enough taste with great service. Book in advance to avoid disappointment.
Walked in and immediately thought: yes, this is it. The vibe is perfect: warm, lively, colourful, and welcoming whether you’re on a date, with family, or just craving proper Indian food. It feels like a little slice of Delhi tucked into south-west London.Every dish we tried was an absolute banger: Rich, layered curries that actually taste like they’ve been slow-cooked with love Fluffy naan fresh from the tandoor Spices that hit every note: fragrant, punchy, balanced, never just “hot for the sake of it” Portions are generous, presentation is beautiful, and the flavours genuinely transport you straight to India.Service is warm, quick, and genuinely attentive — they care that you’re enjoying the meal. Hands-down one of the best Indian restaurants in Wimbledon right now. If you want authentic, soul-satisfying food that makes you close your eyes on the first bite and whisper “finally…”, book Bombay Delight.
Good Value for Quality Although more elevated than your average local curry house, Bombay Delight delivers strong value. Main courses are priced competitively, especially given the high quality and creative ambition of the menu. Would I go again… Definitely 💕 Ambience - Stylish, lively, modern Cuisine - Elevated Indian with regional flair Service - Attentive, knowledgeable Value - Competitive, especially for quality Best For - Celebrations, dates, curious diners
Went here for a 60th birthday celebration. Nice restaurant with good food, great cocktails and good service. I thought the food was reasonably priced, very tasty and the portion sizes are good on the mains. There’s a second smaller menu which seems to be a a lot cheaper than the more extensive main menu. One thing we did notice and weren’t overly keen on was the fact that they had a lot of seasoned uncooked fish on a trolly/cart that I assume you choose the piece of fish that you’d like, but the trolley of fish was just sitting at the side in the open restaurant uncovered. If I’d wanted to order fish I wouldn’t have. I would definitely eat here again.
Despite booking and being one of the first customer for a Friday evening, the service was a little rushed. Thankfully the food wasn't. We arrived around 6.30pm and it was a Friday, so we knew it would get busy. Indeed by 7pm, this eatery was packed. Definitely one to book in advance. We were offered, almost immediately, the option of ordering from the catch of the day. Lobster, prawn, crab. Politely declined and ordered our meal. The food is good here; authentic tastes, variety of flavours and plenty to eat. The naan breads were OK, nothing special and a little small. The rice was cooked evenly. We went for the house special curries , all piping hot, whole breast of chicken and more than enough to go around. And half way through our meal, around 7.30pm we were asked if we had finished when we clearly had food on our table. Then ten minutes, same again. And finally, having felt like we had been rushed we left a 8pm. I would not say 90 minutes is a long time to stay at a table and enjoy good food. Clearly our waiter did. Would I go back, yes the food was very good for a local restaurant. Perhaps too busy to cope with everyone being sick of turkey after Christmas. I'll give them another chance.
The resturant was actually quite well decorated. We went on a weekday eve for a dinner and the place was quiet. We were surprised that we were put into a cramp table, and when we asked can we be moved the lady just looked us up and down in a really bad manner and went off. Orders were placed and we waited, and waited and waited......and waited....after a considerable time and asking multiple times when the food was coming it finally materialized the food was ok, veg dishes not a lot flavour, but the meat dishes were good but patchy on the same plate which was strange. Overall the experience is ok but not worth the price. Hence my scores. The service was ok but have to say the lady who seemed to be in charge needs some training on customer service.
We recently moved to the area and had heard great things about this restaurant. With such high reviews, we were really excited to try it. We visited as a group of eight to celebrate a birthday. The service was genuinely good — welcoming, friendly, and attentive throughout. The restaurant itself is also very nicely decorated and has a pleasant atmosphere. There were several positives: the drinks were good, the food arrived in good time, and the portion sizes were generous. The complimentary birthday cake at the end was a thoughtful and appreciated touch. Unfortunately, the main issue for us was the food itself. Overall, it lacked flavour and was quite bland, which was disappointing given the very high expectations set by the reviews (4.8 stars with over 2,000 ratings). For starters, we had the chilli garlic mogo, but it barely had any chilli and tasted mostly of garlic. The prawns were large and fresh but again lacked flavour. The chicken tikka was well cooked and generously sized, but the seasoning was very mild. The mains followed the same pattern — nicely presented but not very flavourful. For dessert, the gulab jamun was really good, but the gajar ka halwa was overly sweet and had too much elaichi for our taste. Overall, the experience was mixed. The service and atmosphere were good, but the food — which should really be the highlight — didn’t live up to expectations. We left feeling disappointed given how highly rated the restaurant is.
I chose this restaurant based on its excellent Google rating (4.8 with over 2,000 reviews), so my expectations were understandably high. The restaurant itself is very nice, with a pleasant ambience. However, the experience took a turn early on when I ordered a beer that arrived unchilled. When I politely mentioned this to the waiting staff, I was surprised and disappointed by the response. Instead of acknowledging the feedback, I was told that the beer had been served to other guests and that no one else had complained. This felt dismissive and implied that my feedback was not being taken seriously, which was quite off putting, especially for a restaurant at this price point. The food itself was good, though not exceptional. Unfortunately, the starters arrived cold. When ordering our mains, we specifically asked for them to be served hot, and to be fair, they were, so that was appreciated. Overall, the place is okay, but the way feedback was handled really affected the experience for me. The issue was not the beer itself, but the lack of a professional and empathetic response. In a restaurant of this standard, I would expect staff to be trained to handle feedback more constructively. While the staff were friendly and chatty with other guests, my own experience was uncomfortable enough that I would not return. A more thoughtful approach to customer feedback would make a big difference.
Very expensive for the size of the portions. We've been to eat at the restaurant and it seemed good so we decided to order a takeaway but we were very disappointed to find that everything just seemed very small despite the price point. For a few bits of Calamari it was £9 (in that bag). The small naans were £4 each (little ones), The small ice cream tub of butter chicken was £15 (no rice). It just seems incredibly steep and average in taste frankly. It's a shame as we like to support local.
