10/10 no notes. Sensational food here, the yellowtail blew me away, the seabass was perfect with that sauce, the potato dish and broccoli wow. The calamari was also delicious, and the fried zucchini, honestly impeccable service too everything came out so quickly! Loved the cheesecake too, very indulgent. I’ll definitely be back!
Excellent Greek food, and all our dishes are incredibly flavoursome. The service was very helpful with ordering and didn't let us order too much. The food quality was excellent. The chicken was superbly cooked, and the grilled veg was barbecued very well. The service was friendly. Overall, an excellent experience.
Had a great meal at Bottarga. The service really stood out, George was incredibly nice, attentive, and made us feel very welcome throughout the meal. We started with the pita bread and spicy feta, which was absolutely delicious and full of flavour. The lamb chops were cooked perfectly and very tender, and the calamari was also excellent. Overall a really enjoyable experience with great food and warm service. Would definitely come back.
This cozy Greek restaurant serves up some delicious Greek food. The raw menu did not disappoint ! The sea bream was so yummy! The spicy feta and saganaki balls were great too! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting as is the staff. We had a warm welcome and great service. The Greek chicken was some of the best I’ve had. Don’t miss this Greek food gem!!
Wow wow wow, soooo worth the hype! Party of three came for a birthday dinner and it blew us away, it was amazing! To begin with, the service is superb which makes the experience all the more enjoyable; immediately as we walked in the hosts took our coats, made lovely small chat and wished me a happy birthday. It took us aback because all workers seem genuinely happy warm and pleased to be working there, which is uncanny in London. Now, for the food: it was delicious and blew us away. As a Mediterranean, it is beyond complicated to find good quality produce in London cooked right, and all dishes exceeded our expectations. The bluefin tuna was sensational, and the lemon and pepper complemented it perfectly; the tempura courgette was great, perfectly crisp and the black alioli was mind blowing! We also ordered the grilled artichokes, the aubergine dip and pita bread which were also delicious. The highlights for us was the orzo, which was such a generous portion and the sea bass! The sea bass melted away and the olive oil and lemon sauce was simply superb. It is unlikely to have restaurants who can cook good quality food properly, keeping the essence whilst also adding flavours and complements which gives it a kick while also preserving the original richness. Lastly, as a dessert we ordered the chocolate burnt cheesecake, which they kindly enough with a candle and was a huge portion, with chocolate poured on top. Also a lovely touch, they brought a complimentary glass of prosecco and a birthday card signed by the Pachamama team. Overall, it was an extremely enjoyable experience, with amazing service and delicious flavour and we couldn’t recommend it more.
Used to go to this address when it was Chicama and was sad when it closed down. My husband took me here for my birthday last week since Bottarga opened and it didn’t disappoint - they even gave me a birthday card! Such an inviting and intimate atmosphere with a range of truly delicious dishes - some reminiscent of the old Chicama menu (was so happy to see the tapioca dish which is so fun!) Lamb chops were fire, and the dips are quite big so would probably go for one next time but the feta dip and aubergine dip are highly recommended.
We went with my mom. As a fan of greek cuisine, everythong was amazing. Especially we were speechless with the desserts (salted caramel tart and cheesecake). Most importantly, the hospitality of George and Ineta made the whole experience so warm and memorable. Special thanks to them!
It is a fairly small restaurant, with the doorway being right by some of the tables and most the tables are fairly close together especially if you’re sitting in the middle next to the bar stools. We booked crazy in advance for a 7pm sitting. They gave us a card and offered us a glass of bubbly for our anniversary! The bread and dips were 10/10, a definite must try! Chicken and orzo were also super tasty and I wasn’t immediately sold but the burnt cheesecake was to die for!
Absolutely amazing food! Delicious and the service by the staff is great. They are very attentive and knowledgeable! Incredibly polite, friendly and helpful when we needed some guidance with the menu. Cocktails were great and good priced. The ambiance is great! An ideal place to catch up with a good friend
Genuinely delicious food in a cozy yet buzzing dining atmosphere. Every dish was so unique and worth a try. The dips paired so well with the fresh bread, and the XO oil orzo was not one to miss. The chocolate cake is popular for a very good reason. Will be back for sure!
We really enjoyed Bottarga, every dish was really tasty and the staff were very helpful and genuinely seemed happy to be working there (not that common in London)! The bread and dips are exceptional but our favourite dish was the crudo! The only issue was the Salted Caramel dessert where the top was exceptional but the base was stale - perhaps a once off mishap as last time we dined it was fantastic.
I came here a few weeks ago with my best friend and we had an incredible experience. We had several dishes to share, each bursting with flavour. The service was excellent too. Sadly we were too full to try the chocolate cheesecake but will definitely be back soon to try it!
Service is honestly 10/10 can't fault one bit about it, even with how busy it is and how crowded it gets they still give the best service possible. Food was delicious some of the stuff we received it's new things trying out so wasn't the best of fans of it but really enjoyed everything with the taste and how fresh it was, food also arrived very quickly we only had to wait 10 minutes for the food. Place is in a good location you can find parking but on some days it does get really busy so parking can be an issue but overall loved everything about it and definitely would go there again to try out the other stuff on the menu
Amazing Greek restaurant in Chelsea. Would recommend you to sit by the bar and watch the dishes being prepared. Everything we tried was delicious.
Went to Bottarga to catch up with friends! The food is amazing, the staff is very attentive. Our waiters Neon and Ilya gave us the best time ever. High recommendation for an intimate cozy date night. Yellowtail, potatoes and baby chicken are MUST. Definitely coming back!
Best dinner ever. Have no words, other than it was all amazing. Loved that we were able to share and try so many different dishes! The smoky aubergine starter, with the bread was 🤌 and definitely recommend the courgette tempura and orzo which I could eat forever 💯 Tapioca bites were a bit too sweet for me personally but others may like. Got the chicken and lamb chops with some potatoes, which were also very good. Don't get me started on the chocolate cheesecake... We got 2 between 4 of us and just about finished (we all have a sweet tooth) so would definitely share between a group. 🤭😋 Excellent service, food came out at a good pace leaving needed gaps between and staff were very friendly. The meal and experience as a whole was an 11/10 and can't wait to come back!!
Delicious! My new favorite restaurant in London! I am gluten free, and they offered me really good home made gluten free bread to start with yummy dips 🤤 Everything was really yummy. The atmosphere cozy and warm, a real treat to walk into during this cold arctic spell. The waiters were smiling, and at the end they were really interested to hear our thoughts and feedback. But honestly…. The food is *chef’s kiss* 🤌🏻 Try… EVERYTHING! Highly recommend booking.. and early… seems it’s quite popular and always full. My new go to restaurant in London 🏴 Thanks Bottarga! Happy Dining!
Everything about this place was spot on. The atmosphere was perfect, the staff were lovely and efficient, and the vegetarian tasting menu was 10/10. Excellent wine selection, too. Defiantly a spot worth the visit!
We had such a great experience here! The food was absolutely delicious every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. But what really stood out was the service. We were served by tatiana who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. She was so friendly attentive and made the whole evening even more enjoyable. Highly recommend coming here and if you’re lucky hopefully you’ll get tatiana as your server!
This was a decadent experience. Food was way better than I’d have thought, amazing. Each single dish, from the plain Greek salad to the courgettes tempura. And the desserts? Yum. Do come here the atmosphere is an amazing and the food is truly delicious. Go now, thank me later.
Exceptional service from Ilya and George at Bottarga. From the moment we arrived, they were incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful. Their professionalism combined with a friendly, thoughtful approach made the entire experience feel effortless and special. They anticipated our needs, explained everything with care, and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy. Truly amazing service that made our visit unforgettable. Thank you, Ilya and George — you’re absolute stars 🌟
Such a cozy and lovely restaurant! The food is absolutely incredible, every dish we’ve tried has been beyond good. The sauces are especially delicious. 🤤 This is my second time visiting, and I’ve basically tried everything on the menu now, it’s all so good!
Incredible food! Everything was delicious. The wine list looked incredible as well. Get the chocolate dessert! We had a late reservation and they let us take our time at the end of the night. Super nice staff.
Really cute place with high quality food! We ordered 6 dishes with 1 dessert, I would definitely recommend the saganaki tapioca bites, bottarga orzo and the chocolate cheesecake cake 🍰(save your stomach for this, it’s actually quite a big piece) !! The other dishes are nice, the flavouring and the dipping have done nicely. Other than above, staff are really smiley and always make sure we are ok with the food, it gives out such a good vibe in the restaurant. Either going on to a date, girls dinner or celebration, this is a lowkey but cute place to try.
Absolutely worth the hype !! Totally understand why it is so hard to book a table at Bottarga. The atmosphere was fantastic , and she food was delicious. You cannot skip out on the burnt butter potatoes, and the raw fish was also to die for ! The pita was also really soft and perfectly charred, and was heavenly with the aubergine dip. We could’ve eaten 5 portions of it, divine !! Will definitely have to come back to try everything else, we loved it !
It was crazy crowded but everything was fast and the service was good and the food was delicious, the smoked aubergine / crispy onion was so good it was creamy and delicious, courgette tempura was so good and baby chicken / lemon thyme emulsion it was amazing!
Absolutely love the food, the service (especially by Luis) and the atmosphere!! We had all 4 dips with pita, the Greek salad, the bottarga orzo, the lamb chops and the grilled artichokes - everything was incredible. We were celebrating my mother’s birthday and the staff kindly brought us a hazelnut semi freddo (which was also delicious). The whole meal was really special, big thank you to the team for taking such good care of us. Will definitely be back!
A charming Greek spot in Chelsea blending homestyle cooking with refined touches. The sharing-style menu makes it easy to sample a range of dishes - from warm pita and aubergine starters to perfectly cooked sea bass and lamb chops. The open kitchen adds a lively touch, and we especially enjoyed sitting outside under the partially covered terrace, soaking up the relaxed summer vibe. Service was warm and generous - we were even offered a complimentary dessert after a short wait. A well-balanced mix of comfort and class. Quietly rated: worth stopping.
What can i say more than i went back to my home country and i still think about their food! 100000/10 the atmosphere the staff and THE FOOD ugh the owner of this chain of restaurants is a brilliant with a very good taste! We were greeted and served by louis and he was the absolute best. Had the classic greek salad and it hit so good Also confit ratte potatoes was sooo good, shaved cauliflower was a strangely so yummy! And last we had the dry aged rib eye on the bone and oh my god it was the best!! The sauce the taste and everythingggg! I can't wait to be back to my fav chain of restaurants!
I went for my bday on Saturday and have now found my new favourite London restaurant! The food was sooo delicious that the only photo we got was of the bread basket bc we devoured everything else. Thank you for the staff for being so kind and warm and hopefully I will be dining there again soon ☺️
I had the pleasure of having my birthday lunch at Bottarga. The service and atmosphere were top notch. I ordered the spicy feta dip with pita bread, lamb chops and broccolini and the burnt chocolate cheesecake. All of the food was faultless in terms of both taste and presentation. The staff went above and beyond making me feel special and included a birthday card and candle for dessert. An overall amazing experience and I will definitely be back!!!
soooo happy to have gotten a table at bottarga. lamb chops were beautifully cooked, potatoes were so good?!!! bread basket was so gorg (especially loved the cracker) and the tapioca bites were amazing!! food was so yummy as expected, i love nina & zephyr and was so excited to see how bottarga would be & it absolutely lives up to expectations. gorgeous atmosphere (really obsessed with their wine glasses) and the perfect spot for a date night / catch up with friends.
Great food Great atmosphere Great service Cozy tables - Bread Basket 9/10 - Smoked Aubergine dip 10/10 - Spicy feta dip 9/10 - Tzatziki dip 8/10 - Padron Peppers 6/10 - Calamari 10/10 - Greek Salad 10/10 - Lamb Belly 8/10 - Orzo Pasta 9/10 - Chocolate Cheesecake 9/10
An absolute gem in Chelsea. The gluten-free sourdough was outstanding, especially with the smoked aubergine spread. The lamb belly was full of flavour and perfectly cooked, and the famous burnt chocolate cheesecake lived up to every bit of the hype. A brilliant spot with food that feels both refined and comforting, can’t wait to go back.
What an extraordinary find! This restaurant has quickly secured a place among my all-time favourites. From the moment you walk through the door, the space envelops you in warmth and character — an effortlessly stylish setting that strikes a perfect balance between contemporary flair and relaxed comfort. The ambience is vibrant without being chaotic, intimate yet full of life. Every detail, from the thoughtfully designed interior to the gentle lighting, contributes to a truly special atmosphere that makes each visit feel like a well-kept secret you can’t wait to share. The service is, quite simply, outstanding. Attentive yet never intrusive, the staff create an experience that feels both polished and personal. There’s a wonderful energy among the team — they work with care, precision, and a genuine passion that elevates the whole evening. Every interaction felt sincere and seamless, and it’s clear that attention to detail is a cornerstone of what they do here. As for the food — each dish is a testament to craftsmanship and creativity. The menu is filled with bold ideas and exciting twists, yet nothing feels overworked or pretentious. Every bite is a harmony of flavours, carefully balanced and deeply satisfying. Portions are generous, and presentation is both elegant and inviting. It’s rare to find a place where each plate feels like a highlight, but here, it’s a consistent theme. The dessert, in particular, is something of a legend — rich, indulgent, and designed to be shared. It’s not just a treat; it’s an experience in itself, and one that invites conversation, laughter, and the kind of joy only truly good food can bring. Beyond the exceptional food and atmosphere, what sets this place apart is the feeling it leaves you with — a sense of genuine hospitality, thoughtful care, and a desire to return. Whether you’re marking a special occasion or simply craving a meal that delivers on every level, this is a destination that more than lives up to the hype. Highly recommended — but fair warning, once you’ve been, you’ll find yourself planning your next visit before the night is even over.
Eight of us had dinner last night and had such a wonderful time — we would highly recommend this restaurant. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, truly the cherry on top of a great evening. The food was faultless, and everything was beautifully presented. Five stars plus! A special mention to our waitress, who was especially kind and really made our night, even though I unfortunately didn’t catch her name.
We had an amazing dinner. We have been to Greece so many times but yet all the plates we ordered were extraodinary for us… We celebrated our wedding anniversary and they made us feel very special. Not only with the kind treats but also with a special card, our dinner was made a memorable one… we will definetely come back to taste the rest of the menu… yellow tail should not be missed :)
I visited Bottarga in Chelsea on Friday lunchtime with a group to celebrate my sister’s birthday. From the moment you step inside, the space feels effortlessly chic. The décor is polished and refined, with tasteful artwork that complements the atmosphere beautifully. That said, the toilets were a slight let down. The stainless steel finish felt stark and oddly institutional, giving off more prison than polished restaurant, and could certainly benefit from a refresh. Service, however, was a real highlight. Our main server, Olivia, was exceptional. Warm, attentive, and genuinely knowledgeable, she struck that perfect balance between professionalism and approachability. Her recommendations were thoughtful and well explained, and it truly felt like we were in very capable hands throughout the meal. I arrived with high expectations. Bottarga has been on my radar for quite some time, and I had heard consistently good things, so anticipation was high. The menu lends itself beautifully to sharing, which worked perfectly for our group. We began with the aubergine and tzatziki dips served with pitta bread. While the dips themselves had depth and good flavour, the pitta bread was unfortunately not homemade, which felt like a missed opportunity. Overall, these starters were pleasant but not particularly memorable. I felt similarly about the bluefin tuna. Well executed, but not something that truly stood out. The courgette fritters with smoked garlic sauce and the saganaki bites, on the other hand, were excellent. Crisp, indulgent, and full of flavour, they were easily the highlights of the starters and dishes I would happily order again. The orzo was one of the main reasons I wanted to visit and was highly anticipated. It was good, comforting, and well balanced, but again did not quite deliver the wow factor I was hoping for. That said, the lamb belly and baby chicken that followed were both thoroughly enjoyable. Each had a beautiful char from the barbecue, with deep, smoky flavour and excellent seasoning. These dishes felt confident and satisfying. We finished with the sharing cheesecake, which felt almost criminal to skip. It was rich, creamy, and perfectly suited for sharing, a solid and comforting end to the meal. A particularly lovely touch was the effort made for my sister’s birthday. She was given a card, and a candle was placed in the cake, which added a thoughtful and personal element to the experience. Overall, we enjoyed our meal. It is undeniably on the expensive side, but that is to be expected given the Chelsea location and the brand itself. While I would recommend Bottarga, especially for groups looking to share plates in a stylish setting, I personally would not rush back. That said, I would be very interested in visiting the other restaurants within the same restaurant group. A good dining experience, well executed, with moments of excellence, even if it did not quite live up to the very high expectations I arrived with.
this place has been on my list for the longest timeee! however, i feel like it was a bit of a let down for me. the food was enjoyable overall but not the most eye-opening or unique in my opinion. service can be improved as the food took a while to serve (it was pretty empty during our visit) it's still a nice place to try greek cuisine. i would probably recommend booking an evening table for more aesthetic/cosy vibes
Chocolate cheesecake is absolutely divine: super rich and a generous slice — best for sharing with a group of friends! The mezze and small plates were more of a standout than the meats for us. Loved the tapioca bites and dips with the crackers. Music was a tad loud, but the restaurant was relatively quieter during lunch on a weekday (we walked in and didn’t have to wait to get seated). Service was pleasant and not overwhelming, didn’t rush us through our meal either.
It took me over 10 days of begging to get a booking. Once there, I was shocked by the friendliest and most professional service I have ever encountered. EVERY single member of staff was lovely, courteous, and adept. We had a very late booking and left very late, and the crew was on top form, smiling and inviting. I felt as if I was going to my best friend's home. Like your friends' homes, it is not necessarily the largest, most comfortable or plush of a venue. Likewise, the food will not win Michelin prizes, but it is hearty and hits the spot. I will certainly return if I was honoured with another reservation
Overall the food was delicious! Most dishes had a special touch that we all enjoyed. From the salad, to the dips, to the appetizers and main courses (lamb belly and lamp shops) everything was nicely made! What else to top it off with 3 amazing deserts, all full of flavors (pic below). Its greek inspired cuisine was truly memorable! The only thing i would comment on was the small size of the restaurant and the fact that we were 5 people and were squeezed to a table of max 4 person. Not many vegetarian options. Service was average, since about 5 different stuff served us.
I loved the atmosphere here – lighting was great, it was very buzzy and intimate, especially considering it was a Wednesday evening. The cheapest bottle of wine was nice, and started at £44 which I’d say is slightly on the expensive side. We ordered the bread basket and the spicy feta dip. Both were great and very worth while ordering – the feta dip was so smooth and silky, with interesting flavours. We also ordered the anchovies to have with the sourdough bread. The anchovies came in a delicious oil, although they were great they were “just” anchovies so I feel like you could order a slightly more interesting dish in its place. We then had the yellow tail – the flavours were fantastic, although I’d say that at £18 a portion it was very small and felt slightly bad value. For mains, we chose the steak with the tender stem broccoli. Both were fantastic, particularly the steak which was really the standout dish of the meal. It was such a rich, flavourful cut of meat without being overly fatty, and also cooked perfectly. I loved the rich sauce it was paired with. This served with the broccoli, which was fresh and lemony, was the perfect balance. This was quite a rich meal, but I had heard such good things about the chocolate cheesecake so I couldn’t resist ordering it. It was perfect, but very rich and sickly, a decedant and delicious desert! The bill came to £90 a head. I thought the whole experience was great, although slightly on the more expensive side. Apart from maybe a couple of the dishes being overpriced, I have little criticism for this restaurant, it was a good experience and I’d happily return.
Fabulous food. Breads are lovely, dips are great, courgette tempura was just brilliant- light crispy and non greasy with a great dipping sauce. Tapioca bites were amazing and perfectly cooked. Lamb belly and chicken also good, soft, succulent with great natural flavours. The Greek salad was decent- good seasoning and olive oil but the veg in it unfortunately lacked flavour, specifically the tomatoes. I would expect for a Greek salad (an £18 one) that the tomatoes be bursting with flavour. Cheesecake definitely lived up to the hype. The staff is amazing, so friendly, so helpful and patient with us and our 7 month old who sort of lost her mind in the last ten minutes. Special shout out to Lorenne (if I remember correctly) who greeted us at the door. She is just the best and made everything so comfortable and easy for us with the baby.
I would say the food wasn't bad but it didn’t justify the price point, portion sizes or quality. Between the three of us, we shared the spicy feta dip with pita bread (ok), saganaki tapioca bites (interesting), bluefin tuna (really good, my favourite), courgette tempura (nice crunch and the aioli was a good complement), classic greek salad (nothing special), grilled prawns (well cooked but lacked flavour), baby chicken (tender but it was too salty) and the charred tenderstem broccoli (really overpriced for undercooked broccoli). The welcome was cold although our waitress was polite.
The atmosphere is nice, the place very cozy and intimate, but the portions are really small. They say that the baby chicken is for two, but as the name suggests, it is a baby portion; maybe good for your two years son and the dish is not cheap. £33 for the little one. Sarcasm aside, to feel decently fulfilled you need to order double the number of plates as a rule of thumb. The only plate that really fulfills you is the cheesecake, delicious but extremely heavy.
I know the place is considered to be new London hot spot, but in all honesty the food was below par and can barely be called Greek. Yes, some interesting small plates. Yes, it is exceptionally pretty (serve plates and ambiance), but there was no wow factor in the quality and depth of flavor in dishes, nothing memorable, probably only a tad greasy.
I went to Bottarga in London for lunch and overall the experience was quite mixed. The food itself was average and didn’t really stand out or leave much of an impression. For a restaurant in this area, I was hoping for flavours with more depth and a meal that felt memorable, but taste-wise it fell a little flat. The biggest issue we had was with the seabass. We asked for it to be deboned and it was brought back to the table within a minute, which already felt a bit rushed. Unfortunately, it was still full of bones and as we started eating, it became quite unpleasant. A few of us nearly choked on them, which really spoiled the dish. We mentioned it to the waitress more than once but were ignored, which was frustrating and disappointing. Eventually the manager came over and handled it properly. He apologised sincerely, removed the seabass from the bill and even offered us extra desserts on the house. That gesture was very much appreciated and showed the level of hospitality you would expect. While the service recovery was good, the food itself didn’t live up to expectations and for me that makes it hard to recommend Bottarga for lunch.
I had high hopes for this place after all the reviews and there never being bookings available, but overall the food was ok and nothing exciting jumped out. We ate all of the most popular dishes and the only things that were good was the lamb chops and salted caramel tart, but even though we sat at the bar (in front the grill) our lamb was room temperature when served. Also the orzo was undercooked.
Overpriced, minuscule portions and uninspiring menu served in a classy ambience. It also didn’t there was much thought out into the plating. The aesthetic of the restaurant is Bottarga’s only saving grace. The service was also subpar. A waitress accidentally spilt water on my friend’s digital camera. It was frustrating but not the main issue. Rather it was the lack of following up on that mistake that was disappointing. After cleaning the water up, at such a pricey restaurant, we thought that they would at least be proactive to offer a little complimentary something. Though my friend and I chose to celebrate our joint birthdays at Bottarga, this experience put a dampener on the day. We left still hungry, deeply unsatisfied, and feeling a bite on our budgets. 🧺 Bread Basket (£9.00): Quite a decent sized portion of a toasty sourdough drizzled with olive oil, pita bread, and sesame crackers. This was the only thing on the menu that was decently sized. But there’s nothing that blew our minds from a a basket of average bread… 🐟 Tarama Dip (£10.00): Topped with a bit of trout roe, this is made from salted and cured fish roe. It was savoury, smooth, and creamy but what a measly portion. 🌶️ Spicy Feta, Red Pepper Dip (£10.00): Another ridiculously small amount of dip. At least this dip gave the tastebuds a bit of kick. That’s it though. 🍯 Saganaki Tapioca Bites (£12.00): Chewy, mochi-like tapioca coated with sesame, then deep fried till golden and crispy. Could barely taste the saganaki cheese, and the tapioca was bland. The only source of flavour came from some thyme honey. 🐑 Lamb Chops (£35.00): As a lamb lover, to dissapoint me is not easy but somehow this dish did. Each chop, smaller than a size of a palm (which I, as an Asian woman don’t have large one), works out to about £12 per piece! The meat itself was marinated in a very classic Gyros seasoning. It is was tender but that is not enough to justify such a high price tag. An absolute rip off.
