What a restaurant! We’ve wanted to eat here for some time and it didn’t disappoint. The service was incredible, super friendly and warming. The food was some of the best we’ve had! The Tuna Steak special was my personal favourite! It was my Wife’s birthday and they brought some ice cream and a chocolate happy birthday on a plate which was a lovely touch! Cannot recommend enough! Pricey though so be prepared lol!!

Great menu with something for all. Traditional UK dishes but better. Service is good, friendly. The portions are huge, nice! Good wine selection, cocktails. The place is huge and feels like one big open hall. Nothing cosy or romantic, but great for business dinners and large groups.

We had a really excellent evening. Food, staff and atmosphere were great. Grace, our waitress was really professional and friendly.

My partner and I attended the Sunday roast set menu here. Now don't get me wrong it was bloody lovely especially for the how inexpensive it was to what we thought it could cost however the only one tiny criticism I have was the roast potatoes were bland..... everything else on the roast and the desserts were sublime!! We opted for two courses and my gosh it filled us up. It was a real experience. The decor was beautiful and rustic yet clean and comfortable ❤️ The staff were so kind, considerate, knowledgeable and nothing but pure professionals. 👏🏼👏🏼

Fantastic experience dining here on a Monday evening. The dry aged steak was cooked to perfection and the beer selection fantastic. The service was excellent 👍

Staff seem to have been trained in mind reading ("can you tell me where the..." "toilets? Left at the end of the bar, Sir") and are wonderfully warm and friendly. Tables stocked and emptied without you even noticing ("where did that empty glass go?" with no sense of intrusion. And the food was delicious - the "best sticky toffee pudding you've ever had", said my wife...

Our family of 5 had dinner here on May 27, 2025 and our waiter was Tim. Tim was amazing, so kind and courteous, and he really did make our dinner exceptional. We had multiple questions and he patiently answered our questions and explained the menu to us. The food was great as well, very delicious. We really enjoyed the atmosphere. Next time we visit London, we will definitely return to this location!

Party of 7. I ordered the Sunday roast and the food was very delicious. We were taken care off and the staff were very attentive. Even after the kitchen closed, we were treated amazingly and with patience and welcomes. Props to Chef Konrad. An excellent meal that I’m glad I got to experience.

It was a lovely experience as we sat in the special designated area that looks like a spaceship. Everything was delicious, we were so full that we couldn’t eat the dessert and had to get it boxed up. Staff were nice and the general atmosphere was lovely

I tried this restaurant for the first time on NYE and I was really impressed with the food and the impeccable service, Bernardo was great, very attentive and nice. We were extremely happy overall, the atmosphere in the restaurant it’s very cosy, warm and makes you want to stay. Thank you for everything we will definitely be back.

Had a wonderful meal. Dinner was superb and the cocktails went down very well! Service was brilliant from start to finish. Would definitely recommend… already planning a return visit.

We had a reservation through the Virgin Experience voucher and were seated in the pod. The food was delicious and served in very generous portions. It consisted of four courses: cold starters, warm starters, a main dish, and a selection of desserts. I cannot pick my favourite because we loved everything. The drinks were nice too.

Great atmosphere at this place. We had a main course and dessert. The main course was great, the fish & chips were luxurious, the batter was amazing and the portion was huge, enough for two people. Butter chicken was more spicy, but the Indian food is. Desserts chocolate fondant and sticky toffee were both incredibly delicious. We are taking one star off the service because we were full and they walked around us for quite a long time and even though they knew it, they only brought our food after a long pause. Thank you for a nice evening and delicious food.

My husband and I had the beef wellington experience to celebrate my upcoming Cambridge graduation. The food did not disappoint and we were treated very nicely. Customer service is superb as staff goes around to make sure everyone is enjoying their meals and accommodated. Thank you to Rafael, Eleni, and the team for such a great experience. You all made it special (even with a special treat!) and I cannot wait to return in the future.

Had dinner at here on a Friday evening. Start from the beginning, the service was excellent. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful. It took us a long time to order our main, yet, our waitress was so patient and never once being pushy. We were given free champagne while enjoying all the different starters. Tuna tartare was very fresh and good. Out of all the mains we ordered, the Idiot sandwich was awesome, pork ribs were flavoursome and fall off the bone, Grilled cod was delicious. The only weak dish was the California rolls as the rice was hard and dry. Luckily the free desserts we received were super tasty. We had a great dining experience and would highly recommend this place.

I love this place, I'm only sad that I didn't order something more adventurous. This restaurant has lovely high end decor with top service and food to match. The menu had a great variety of cuisines. So it took a while to decide, I ended up with a burger to keep it simple, and while it was delicious!... I wish I went for the curries or fish. The service was fantastic from the moment we walked in, very attentive, attention to detail and accommodating. I will most certainly be returning in the future, but bear in mind this is a little pricey. Update: I came here again for the Apollo pod experience that was given to me as a virgin gift experience. The booking was simply emailing the restaurant with the relevant voucher details. So very easy. I'm pleased to say that the service and food was consistent with my previous visit. In fact, we initially arrived for the tasting menu experience thinking we'll be hungry at the end of it as tasting menus tend to be small. But I kid you not, this was so much food by the third (out of four) course I was stuffed! The pod itself looks great from the outside but inside it's not all that. Its something cute for a date night, or I imagine a friend's dinner. Very happy nonetheless and glad to come back in the future

I still think Bread St has the best Sunday roast in london, we have been coming for years and the standard is always good. I never had a bad roast here. However the prices have been going up quite steadily too! Fish and chips were good. But the menu has also slowly shrunk, they didn't have roast chicken today. they used to do Sunday brunch with English Breaksfast on the menu but they don't do that anymore. Their service was good as usual. I like that they have lots of space and it wasn't too noisy this Sunday.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bread Street Kitchen & Bar and indulging in their Beef Wellington experience, and it surpassed all expectations. From start to finish, every aspect of the meal was impeccable. Firstly, the Beef Wellington itself was a culinary masterpiece. Cooked to perfection, the tender beef was encased in a delicate puff pastry that melted in my mouth with every bite. The rich, savory flavors were perfectly balanced, making each forkful a delightful experience. Not only was the food exceptional, but the service was also top-notch. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every detail of our dining experience was attended to. From the warm welcome at the door to the attentive servers who guided us through the menu, the level of professionalism and hospitality was truly commendable. Moreover, the ambiance of Bread Street Kitchen & Bar added to the overall enjoyment of the evening. The stylish yet inviting atmosphere provided the perfect backdrop for a memorable dining experience. In summary, my Beef Wellington experience at Bread Street Kitchen & Bar was nothing short of extraordinary. From the exquisite cuisine to the impeccable service, every aspect of the evening exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend Bread Street Kitchen & Bar to anyone looking for a superb dining experience. Five stars without a doubt!

Went in September and we are having a couple day stop over in England on a trip this year just to go again. Sticky toffee pudding comes straight from heaven itself. The Beef Wellington and mashed potatoes were the best I’ve ever had. If you’re in London, it is an absolutely must to stop in. The walk to the restaurant is full of beautiful sights (like St Paul’s) and the staff are absolutely lovely. Thought it might be a little overhyped with how famous Gordon has become but this is superb food all around. Received a gift certificate for my birthday and it was a very easy process to purchase this online. Well done Bread Street Kitchen!

We had the pleasure of being gifted an experience in the “Apollo” with a 4 course set menu. I have to say our waitress “Erica” was outstanding. Made us feel welcome and at ease. Her knowledge of the menu and drinks recommendations was outstanding, she was friendly but professional and we both agreed that she’s a gem of an asset to your restaurant, She made our experience! The food just kept coming and each individual item was delicious. A fantastic deal for the money. The only tiny criticism would be that we felt like we missed a little of the atmosphere being in the Apollo and it was a quite warm in the pod.

My partner and I had dinner here in the Street Lounge capsule, bought as a gift on Virgin Experience days. The service from everyone was wonderful, especially Yassin and Erika (even got a birthday treat without anyone having to ask)! The food was excellent, so much to eat (trust me, if we were full, you will be too)! The spring negroni included was lovely. Didn't know what to expect before arrival and was really pleasantly surprised! P.S. it's on the first floor (above Street Pizza), thought we'd come to the wrong place when we first arrived.

From the moment we were greeted at the entrance, the whole afternoon was pleasant. Great Sunday roast, very very friendly staff and a pleasure to celebrate our anniversary here. Thank you 🤩

Looking for breakfast around St Paul’s and we stumbled across Bread Street Kitchen, we had no idea that it was a Gordon Ramsey joint! The decor was amazing and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was spectacular, the English Muffins were fresh, light and crispy. The Eggs Royale were by far the best I’ve ever had. The menu was strange, I found it weird that you HAD to have two course on the brunch menu. And the only choice of second courses was dessert, which felt strange at 10:30AM. Although once the Tropical Fruit Sundae arrived all my issues with this menu disappeared. It was sensational. It was obviously expensive, but by the time we sat down and realised it was a Gordon Ramsey restaurant there was no turning back. A great experience nonetheless.

We visited for late lunch for around 3pm It was quite place and spacious:) staff are friendly and service was great 👍 Idiot sandwich was absolutely great. Didn’t feel like a lamb .. and chips was very crispy!! Steak 🥩 was amazing 🤩 kids menus was free for adult (under 8) we had a great time.

Did a cocktail masterclass with Peter, he was so amazing and really knowledgeable! Would 100% recommend. We then had dinner in the space capsule which was great. The food did take a long time but was great. Our server was Bernardo and he was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble! I would recommend to anyone!

Booked table for Sunday Roast on website for 5pm, using our Virgin Experience voucher. Arrived to be told that Sunday Roast dinner ends at 4pm. However we were politely informed that our voucher can be used for meals off main menu. Have to say our initial disappointment soon disappeared. Service from all staff was on a different level and a Special mention to Andrea who was superb, making our meal Experience so special. My wife ordered the Sea Bass and I had the Cod meal. Food was amazing. Will definitely return and would highly recommend.

My partner and I went for a meal after work. The vibe was great, our server was called Victor and he was genuinely the nicest guy we’d ever met, he recommended really good dishes and checked in on us frequently and he was really nice and funny to talk to. We’d definitely go back just to see him alone!! The head chef was also a super nice and friendly guy and made us a really good prime rib- it was fantastic. Loved it, would recommend. PS. the sticky toffee pudding was actually phenomenal👀

Went on Sunday night in a party of two without reservation. There were only few tables. The decoration was cool. The food wasn’t exceptional or great. It was simply just acceptable. The aged dry roast beef was kind hard to chew probably because I asked for “well done” instead of “medium rare” The fish and chips were just ok and we barely ate. It was greasy but not crispy or tasty. The desserts were good but a bit too sweet. The atmosphere was modern and we could talk without shouting The service was acceptable though not as fast as it should be

After all these years I finally got to try the famous beef wellington but not from his actual Michelin starred restaurant, but at least from one of his restaurant chains. Honestly, the crust and pastry were really good, but the beef itself was disappointingly rubbery. A bit of a letdown. Luckily the wine we paired it with was lovely and saved the mood. It came out to about £120 for two for the wellington, plus another £70 for the wine. The vibe was great on a tuesday night. It was 70-80% packed, loud but you can still talk with your table mates. Service was excellent 👌

The spacious dining area and uniquely themed decor left a deep impression on me. The spacecraft capsule near the entrance was particularly striking, it even serves as a private dining space for four! We ordered the Wellington steak, which requires a 45-minute wait, and it was overall well-executed. The beef was cooked to perfection—tender and juicy despite the cut having minimal fat. The mushroom paste infused with black truffle wrapped around the meat was incredibly fragrant, while the outermost layer of puff pastry was delightfully crispy. That said, considering the price point, I felt it lacked a certain "wow" factor to make it truly exceptional. The service was generally attentive and professional throughout the meal.

I took my mum here for Mother's Day because we love a good roast. I have been here b4 and loved it the last time, so I thought, why not. The staff were friendly but were not very attentive. We had to keep getting their attention to get service, which was quite annoying during a meal. I had the chicken roast, which was pretty good. I liked the chicken, and the roast potatoes were perfect. The swede was a bit salty for my taste, so I didn't eat them. I still enjoyed my meal. The crab toast starter was amazing. We had two of those. There was a cauliflower and mushroom soup starter, which we did not like the taste of and sent back with no fuss, I'm glad to say. The sticky toffee pudding was good, too. Overall, we had a good time. It's clean, has great decor and a lovely atmosphere. I would recommend it.

Had a lovely birthday meal with my partner. Omar, our server, was lovely and gave us a truly unique experience. Every member of staff was fantastic and highly caring. The food was lovely, there was nothing that wasn't delicious. The atmosphere was a bit loud, but it meant we didn't hear anyone else's conversations

Was very quiet the night we visited on a weekday. As always with Gordy’s restaurants, the deserts were excellent. Chicken parm was average but the fish and chips were above average. A mild recommend overall.

My girlfriend and I came for Christmas Dinner yesterday. The food was really fantastic. The beef Wellington was absolutely amazing, the spicy mango colada was great, the buttered spinach and prawn cocktail were great. We were disappointed by the service from one staff member in particular. When we arrived around 5:40 pm, the lady at the front counter greeted us and took our coats. During this interaction, she appeared to glance at my girlfriend’s festive Christmas socks and smirked, which made my girlfriend feel uncomfortable and self-conscious. Although it was a brief interaction, it noticeably dampened the mood of what was meant to be an enjoyable evening. What was meant to be a fun and light-hearted outfit choice ended up feeling judged. It felt especially disappointing given that the restaurant itself embraces the festive spirit, providing Christmas crackers and paper hats at the table. I hope the staff member can be more mindful of her expressions and reactions in future, as small moments like this can have a big impact on a guest’s experience. This being said, we did have great service, from one of the gentleman wearing a suit and nice red tie, as well as the gentleman who served our table.

Food good enough. Drinks overpriced even by London standards. Service... meh. They also add a 15% service charge. As per my other reviews I always ask for this to be removed- no matter how much it is - and make a personal decision on tip, always leaving this in cash. We had the (famous) Wellington, the cauliflower starter, olives and bread. My guest has a carafe of wine, I had a diet coke and cocktail. All of which were... fine. The Wellington was very good. The total bill (without the 11-12% cash tip we left) was over £200. No dessert. The Wellington is expensive but for this price I'd order something else and go somewhere else. The Ivy West Street does a lovely Wellington also and you're in the thick of it. The service is also much better.

We ate here on the first day of our London trip and the food was, uh above average at the very best. The fish and chips were kinda good, but it’s kinda under-seasoned. The chips are your normal chips and they are just normal. The wellington beef, I really did expect more since Gordon always nitpick others on this dish, but it’s too salty. The mushroom layer of it seemed like salt was heavily poured into it. It’s just very underwhelming. And it also costs 12.5 Pounds! We know that uk’s stuff is very expensive, but for this price it’s just not worth it! Guys if you are near bread street and you are hungry, you can definitely go to here. But going to here by subway, walk to there for 10 minutes and jammed in the packed bus all while dealing jet lag, nah. I’d recommend going downstairs to the pizza house. Never been to there but that seems like a more economical option while less expectations are there.

C
Calvin Li

Their service is disappointing, starting with their pricing structure. They won't offer free water, but they will expect a 15% gratuity. So the worse parts of European and American dining combined. The waitresses there also act like they hate their job. I asked them for the bill and they made it clear they'd rather I use the self checkout, despite charging the highest gratuity of anywhere in London. The food itself was fine. I had the Sunday roast with the mussels, and the main bits were okay. The Sunday roast came with sides (roasted potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, charred lettuce), that just didn't work with the beef and Yorkshire pudding

M
Matej R

This left us with mixed feelings. Two main things stood out — the food and the service. The food was good; we liked it a lot and would definitely come back for more. On the other hand, the service was disappointing, to say the least. This is a nice place owned by Gordon Ramsay, so we expected much more attentive service. It was fine at first, right up until we finished ordering. After that, no one checked in to see if we needed anything else or if everything was okay. When I finally managed to get the waitress’s attention (which took around 10 minutes), we ordered more water — and she almost walked away before I could ask for a beer. She left immediately and didn’t bother to ask if my wife wanted anything as well. It was a similar story when we tried to ask for the check. Service like that, unfortunately, leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

G
Georgia

We really enjoyed the steak and wine. Sadly the service was very slow despite the restaurant being very quiet. We waited around 40 mins for our mains - not a huge issue as we weren’t in a huge rush but defo not ideal.

J
Juliana

Food was good but not outstanding, given the reputation and the price point we expected more. Music was way too loud during lunch and to an extend it got very annoying esp. when guests sitting next to us started shouting to each other given the noisy environment. We settled the bill digitally via the QR code displayed on the table as the waitress was too busy to bring the bill. We were shocked — being totally unaware there is a surcharge of £2 using this payment method.

I had planned to have dinner here in advance, celebrating my son’s birthday (noted on the booking). It was a Saturday night, the lack of atmosphere was overwhelming, I was struggling to see other diners, the place was empty! I could not believe my eyes. We were shown to our table, we ordered a bottle of wine and water, wine presented was good but not really any interaction with the Sommelier. We ordered food and again not a lot of interaction from the waiter, no warmth or any real interest towards us, more so going through the motions of a robotic training. I was in shock when our bread arrived, 4 mini bread rolls that looked (and they were) bought in frozen and then cooked daily, with a price tag of £6.50 that’s not good enough, especially when there’s the pizzeria kitchen with a top of the range pizza oven, you can easily cook some fresh focaccia instead of frozen bread rolls! Food was overpriced on general and I left disappointed. When booking the table, there was a step in the process asking if celebrating an occasion, this was noted with an 8th birthday celebration, why ask if then you don’t acknowledge it? The restaurant was empty, was it forgotten or am I correct that staff did not show real interest in our dining experience? I used to work for Gordon Ramsay Holdings and I still work in hospitality, very disappointed with the experience and I can’t say I will return in a hurry, unless, maybe, if they can start serving fresh bread!

J

Distinctly unimpressive roast. Worse than you can expect in your average pub. Staff were friendly and attentive, however we'd been gifted a voucher for the set roast - but as the price had gone up since it was printed, they asked us to pay the difference. Seemed unnecessarily miserly given we spent a fair bit on cocktails and extras. Cocktails were great. Chicken wing starters were amazing to be fair, and the mushroom wellington was lovely. But the beef roast lunch was pretty grim, cold chewy beef, potatos undercooked, not crisp at all, flat yorkshire. Really surprising given the name and the price tags.

S
S K

Expected a great meal at Bread Street Kitchen & Bar by St Paul’s, but the food and service fell short. The chicken wings were greasy and flavorless, the fish and chips had overly oily batter with little cod taste, and the mussels were gritty with an off smell. The roast beef was bland, though the cabbage was crisp and tasty. The Black Forest cheesecake with pistachio ice cream was excellent—rich and well-balanced. Service was slow, with long waits for food and drinks. As a Gordon Ramsay fan, I hoped for better, but this visit was underwhelming. He should call bar rescue on this one Overpriced and not worth wasting time

Located on Bread St, had high hopes for this Gordan Ramsay restaurant but was not impressed. Service: 1) upon arrival the maitre D/lady said they couldn’t find our reservation and just walked away. Thankfully my party had arrived before me otherwise I would have been standing and waiting forever. 2) Same lady took away my food without first asking me (not sure why she was clearing the table when her role was greeting guests) when our food wasn’t even finished yet. >:( I couldn’t get her to give it back because she had already stacked it on a dirty plate. 3) Even though it’s advertised (explicitly on the kids menu) that kids eat free, we found out in the bill they had charged us and only when we told them, were we advised we needed to do it to obtain a discount code. What the?? 4) Not transparent cancellation policy (£25 penalty for no show) but not clear when policy applied (it’s 24 hrs). Only got the information when we did a fake booking. 5) given the restaurant and GR name, would expect more - our waiter wasn’t bad when we got his attention (hence 1 star for him) but generally staff were not attentive Food - some dishes were ok (eg cod) while my Seabream just drowned in salty cream sauce. Not good & couldn’t make out the roasted pumpkin 🎃 that was on the side. Didn’t take too much photos of food except the fish and chips.

Nice ambience and decor. Unfortunately several items were cold including the beef Wellington outer pastry and several of my family members vegetables. When we complained the waitress didn’t even say anything and just took the plates away. She then seemed very cold (like the food) for the rest of the service. The Wellington was otherwise very good, but the whole experience just felt very “okay” — not something we expected with GR’s name on the door. Especially given the price. There was one waiter, a gentleman whose name I didn’t get but he helped us with the wine. He was extremely lovely.

This was probably the worst meal I have ever had in a restaurant. I am shocked that this level of bad quality food can be served at this price in the city of London from such a famous brand. The first warning sign was the bread arrived cold and stale with the cheapest tasting petrol station level olives you can imagine. The burger at £23 was just an awful soggy mess and completely tasteless. The fish and chips looked appetising but were just as bad. The batter was rock solid and the chips were too chunky to enjoy. The quality of the fish served was even more terrible and at £24 pound is just unfair when it’s cooked this poorly. However worst of all was the Mushroom Caneloni with its burnt top and flavourless sauce. The whole thing tasted like unflavoured glue and rubber. All of the food was cooked atrociously and lacked any sort of quality and flavour. It arrived extremely quickly which should have rang alarm bells. The drinks were the worst we have ever had and charged at the highest prices and utterly rubbish. The staff were trying their best but it just seemed they were all new and training. What a disappointment the whole experience was! We would have had a much better meal at local pub or restaurant.

H
HT Li

We held a company event at this restaurant and were extremely disappointed with the service and overall experience. From the beginning, the gentleman who took our order was rude and displayed inappropriate, borderline racist behavior. He assumed some of our group were from Brazil in a mocking manner before we even placed our order. He made a mistake with our drink order but insisted it was our fault, refusing to acknowledge the error. During the meal, he rudely demanded one of our colleagues help rearrange glasses on the table, implying that it was our responsibility to assist with his job. The food service was unreasonably slow—we waited over an hour for our main course. While the side dishes like fries and corn were decent, the main dishes were underwhelming, particularly the cod, which was fishy and lacked flavor. To make matters worse, when we received the bill, a 15% service charge had already been added, yet the server aggressively pushed for additional tips. When one of us asked about the difference between the service charge and tips, he made a snide remark about “fancy people” from the “club room” always tipping, suggesting we should as well. Overall, the experience was deeply disappointing. The service was rude and unprofessional, and the food quality didn’t match the restaurant’s reputation. We would not recommend this place to anyone.
