Opinions de Chez Antoinette Victoria London
Chez Antoinette is a little slice of Paris. We celebrated my mother-in-law’s birthday there this month and for a moment truly felt as though we had been transported to France. The interior is beautiful, full of charm and warmth, and the service was exceptional from start to finish. The food was absolutely moreish — most of us ordered the duck confit, which was one of the best I’ve ever had, perfectly crisp on the outside and tender within. The beef bourguignon was equally delicious, rich and full of flavour. A wonderful place for a special occasion — we’ll definitely be back.
Excellent food which looked like it was freshly cooked. You can see the chefs at work by the counter you can sit at. Or tables inside and out and mezzanine area. Apple crumble want the normal desert that look like they are made elsewhere, it was a slice of a large apple crumble. Delicious.
A Parisian treasure in Victoria. Chez Antoinette in Victoria is tucked away down a lane and helps us pretend we're still in Paris when we're back home in London. Brunch here is a real treat, with a dedicated menu featuring eggs done to perfection in a wide range of styles and combinations and a combo breakfast ("The Antoinette") that is my favourite - crispy potato, French sausage, bacon, mushroom, etc. generously served without a soggy piece of toast or canned baked bean to be found. The service is great - attentive without being pushy and a mimosa to start is highly recommended. Enjoy.
Great spot for lunch. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the service efficient without being intrusive. There's a very pleasant terrace outside and the inside has a balcony level which is great for people-watching. The menu held a good selection of French classics; I opted for the croque monsieur which came with a very decent salad garnish. The sandwich was substantial enough that I didn't have room for the planned dessert and instead had a scoop of pistachio ice cream and a coffee. The prices were reasonable, the bill came to £36 for olives, a glass of wine, main course, dessert and coffee, with a 12.5% optional service charge included. They're also open for breakfast and dinner and do a pre-theatre set menu early dinner. I'll definitely eat here again.
When I saw the outside of this restaurant I was a little concerned, it is very generic. However, the inside is full of character and the staff are genuinely lovely and very good at their jobs. I really enjoyed all of the courses I chose. The food was well prepared and presented and full of flavor. If I am ever in the area again I would return without hesitation, highly recommended.
Really good brunch here today! Great variety of egg dishes on menu, along with their classics. Open kitchen- so you can see all freshly prepared! Nice outdoor terrace for the warmer weather. We had croque Madame, fries, poached eggs with ham and tomatoes. All very good! Good quality & fresh ingredients throughout. Beer is on the pricey side.. £7 a pint.
We went on day one of our trip and we came back the rest of the days. Simply amazing!!! The service is fast and attentive, they were all incredibly sweet and helpful. Food portions were reasonable and price quality ratio was really good! Eva took care of us in our last day and she was beyond wonderful!! It became one of our favorite places to brunch in London, truly a must go!
We loved the breakfasts here so much that we actually came back again! The portions are generous, everything is super tasty, and the atmosphere is great. There’s a lovely terrace for outdoor seating, and the interior has two stylish and cozy floors. The location is also perfect — just a 10-minute walk from Big Ben. The service was excellent as well: fast, friendly, and welcoming. A wonderful spot to start your day with a delicious meal. Highly recommended!
My husband and I were walking around looking for a breakfast cafe after staying a hotel nearby when we came across this lovely French cafe. The egg Benedict we ordered were perfect. We wanted to have some fruits but it wasn’t on the menu, so we asked the lovely waitress Eve and she consulted with the chef and brought us a lovely bowl of fresh fruits! Thank you Eve for your wonderful service!
Randomly stopped in here for a late lunch. Really cozy fun vibe, and staff were very kind and attentive. Brought my two young kids and they were gracious and patient with them. I got the avocado toast with smoked salmon, my husband got a steak bavette dish. My Toast was delicious, and I also enjoyed a spritz. Would come back again!
We enjoyed our first visit so much we came back here for our last dinner in London. Excellent menu for casual brasserie that can be good for single business, couples or family. Atmosphere is very warm and “feels like” France. Cocktails were well made - great wine list and again food was quite good. Cannot wait to go again where I’m in London again.
I took 28 clients for a dinner at the Mezannine and everyone was delighted. The food portions were just right, the flavour was so fresh (the bread and butter alone OMG) . I will definitely bring my groups here again. What came on top of our experience was the service. Perrine looked after our bookings , all our back and forth , last minute changes and requests. Then on the day Perrine handed our party to Eve who was an absolute star with her attention , personal touch, service, and dedication . Thank you so much!
My family is visiting London from the USA and we stopped here for a Friday breakfast! What a pleasant choice!! We all loved everything we got. I personally ordered the Hollandaise Poached Egg with Ham, a side of Alsace Bacon, and the French Breakfast Mariage Frere tea! Everything was lovely!!! The Poached Egg was phenomenal and tasty, and the Hollandaise was delicious. It was the perfect horton size. The bacon was my favorite bacon I’ve had in London so far, and the tea was the perfect breakfast choice! Not to mention, the atmosphere and decor was beautiful! My family continued to rave about how lovely the music was, the pretty inside and outside seating, and the presentation of everything! It was all lovely and we would all dine here again! P.S. I also tried my sister’s banana and nutella waffle and that was delicious too! She has a health issue that allows her to usually only eat small portions and she feels nauseous when she eats, but she ate at least 2/3 of the waffle and loved it!
This is a superb French restaurant. We opted for the Brunch Antoinette. The prices are reasonable for this level of quality, though they might be considered slightly expensive compared to general standards. The decor is fantastic. The waiters were very attentive and fast. Highly recommended!
We were looking for a café where we could sit down and have some cake with tea, and it was surprisingly hard to find anything like that in the area. We finally came across this place on Google and decided to give it a try. When we arrived, the lady at the front mentioned that the kitchen was closed due to a private event, but once we explained that we only wanted tea and dessert, she immediately reassured us it was no problem and seated us. The service was fantastic from start to finish - the staff were very friendly, professional, and welcoming. The way the desserts were presented and served was beautiful. The overall atmosphere had a real French chic vibe, which made the experience even better. Absolutely loved it.
Lovely French restaurant with a Bistro aesthetic. Service was friendly and quick, and the food was incredible. The steaks were a generous size and cooked perfectly, the desserts were all delicious too. It was full up on a weekday lunchtime, so definitely recommend booking ahead. There is a 12.5% service charge.
An absolutely amazing restaurants with truly fantastic service - huge shout out to Emmanuel!!! From the second we walked in, Emmanuel treated us all like queens with his amazing energy and service. The food was also delicious and the vibe of the restaurant is beautiful and very parisien. Will definitely be retuning in the future :)))
Had dinner here yesterday with my husband and the food and service was amazing. We both had steak and it was amazing. I also had a couple of cocktails, the Tommy Margarita and Passionfruit Martini were both great. Only disappointment thing was being rushed out the door as they needed their table back. We had to rush our dessert, but I guess it’s one of those things that happens at popular restaurants.
I have never had a better cooked egg in my entire life - Chez served an incredible Royal!! Joes beef Buvette was also phenomenal, and he thoroughly enjoyed his French onion soup. I’d fly back for the Benedict!
Only came for an afternoon tea but really enjoyed it. Desserts are amazing here, I came for the apple crumble (must try here) but I need up having a strawberry tart. Very good and freshly made. Large selections of tea. Excellent customer service!!!
A wonderful French dining experience in the heart of London. We shared the beef tartare, which was beautifully prepared and full of flavour, the escargots baked in garlic and herbs — rich, indulgent, and absolutely spot on — and a classic Salade Niçoise with fresh tuna, vibrant vegetables, and olives. The bread was crisp on the outside, soft inside, and ideal for soaking up every last bit of sauce. Accompanied by a glass of wine, it felt like a little escape to Paris. Warm service and an authentic atmosphere made it even more enjoyable. Can’t wait to return.
Situated close to Buckingham palace this French restaurant is a must if you are traveling to London. Service from the beginning to the end of our dining experience was exceptional. The French cuisine was rich a n and complex boasting of flavors. The scallops were the best I have ever had. The onion soup, the carrots, fresh board left us full and content on our choices.
A hidden gem on the way from Hyde Park to Westminster Abbey An adorable and charming French restaurant with an excellent wine list. Great atmosphere, highly recommended! What's amazing place.
I recently hosted a baby shower for a French friend at Chez Antoinette, and the experience was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our group of 15. They were incredibly attentive and made sure our guests felt welcome and well taken care of. From the beautifully set table (which we were also allowed to decorate further with some small additions), touches like placecard with personal food orders, to the thoughtful service throughout the event, everything felt special and ran smoothly. The food was lovely—beautifully presented and plenty of options for all requirements. ! The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant is elegant yet comfortable. It was a perfect setting for a memorable and joyful gathering. I can’t recommend Chez Antoinette enough for private events like this. Thank you to the team for making our friend’s baby shower so special!
Lovely steak. Great wine. Friendly service but slightly slow at times, only slightly. Recommend for a local French restaurant! Sat outside and was lovely.
Was looking for a yummy breakfast that was a bit different than what we had been having for breakfast our other days in London. We both got the scrambled eggs and toast. I got French toast & my friend got the waffles. This was the best breakfast we had all trip! So yummy! Service was great & it was super quick & easy! Would love to return if I’m ever back in the area!
A fantastic bistro in London. It’s a two min walk down from our hotel and was recommended by our hotel concierge. The food was absolutely fantastic. My husband and I enjoyed the baked Camembert. I had the croque Provençal, so yummy! It’s so cute inside. A nice neighborhood bistro vibe.
I am obsessed with this place! The staff are so kind and welcoming and the food is sp good. Ahighly recomend i come here often !
Coziest unexpected French restaurant find. The food was delicious. The atmosphere and decor was beautiful. Eve gave us the best recommendations and everything turned out wonderful. Highly recommend 😊
I can’t say enough good things about this place , close to Buckingham palace . Waffles were delicious , French cuisine with such a good taste and elegant place yet somehow informal .
Such a lovely French bistro, I really enjoyed it. I took my parents here as I fancied a French onion soup and it didn't disappoint me at all, you could stick your spoon in the soup and it would stand upright. The steak was lovely, the frites crispy, my dad had the vegetarian stew which was healthy, my mum the beef stew which was tasty and soft to eat. Plenty of desserts. Coffee was nice and strong. The manager was an old friend from my harrods days. I enjoyed myself well we all did. It's popular as well it was busy. I highly recommend checking them out.
I visited Chez Antoinette twice during our stay in London and both experiences were excellent. We were warmly welcomed each time and felt genuinely taken care of. We ordered the Antoinette Brunch, which was generous, fresh, and really delicious. A special mention to the staff, who were able to switch between French and English with ease it made the atmosphere even more friendly and comfortable. Thank you again for the great service, the lovely food, and the warm hospitality. Highly recommended.
We had a great experience for a birthday party of 14 people. We had a semi-private mezzannine area which was perfect for the occasion. Staff were attentive and very helpful and the food was delicious. The wine even moreso (Saint-Estephe 2014 at very reasonable price point, IMO)! Thank you to the entire team for a wonderful evening!
Love love love this place super cosy and warm atmosphere the french onion soup is best ever with warm bread and an excellent wine selection. A special shout out to the maître d’s (and lovely gentlemen with the camel coat) who were lovely and so pleasantly accommodating… definitely will be back! 10/10 a must try when in Victoria!!
gorgeously french restaurant, Lovely staff. The steak was a little too fatty for £35! Rest of food lovely. Very little choice for someone allergic to garlic, but that's not unusual. Really great feel to the place, which is also very pretty. Would recommend
I ate outside and the ambiance was nice .. inside it packed and with people looks cramped . I ordered “oat porridge brûlée” was wonderful I wanted a larger portion . I’m going to buy a lil flame gun to make at home … 🥰 1st wine “Monbazillac”- sweet white 😍 The host/ waiter Emmanuel , was smooth, definitely a keeper , encouraged more food and suggested another wine I could not refuse . Oh man! Second meal, avocado toast. Idk what toast this is but it’s wonderful! I’m not a tomato fan however the tomatoes were divine! ( the French don’t disappoint with food) 2nd wine “Les crue du sud, gigondas “ 💃🏾 hit the spot. Other recommendation was Botinot Les Coteaux , cote du Rhône it was so good I asked them to write it down for me ! Massive crème brûlée portion! It was flavor was just ok for me not sweet inside , loved the crust but massive portion makes it worth getting if you like crème brûlée 🍮 I enjoyed my experience. The music and food En plein air was a vibe . They have heaters as well. 🥰 Definitely worth a visit if not for the amazing food try some wine 🍷 and enjoy the customer service .
I recently enjoyed a delicious Monsieur. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the presentation was lovely. I would definitely recommend this dish to anyone looking for a satisfying meal. The service was also excellent, making for a pleasant dining experience. I can't wait to return back to London and try more of their menu.
Cute place with friendly staff. The food was good, as well as selection of drinks. They have gluten-free options. I just would not order again the gluten-free bread and butter. It's just toast. Otherwise we were happy with everything else we ordered and can definitely recommend a good spot for lunch.
Booked a friend (she’s 🇫🇷) 🤣 This place has a good vibe 🤣 You can eat inside, upstairs, downstairs, inside or out🤣 Very French menu 🇫🇷 Great wine menu with lots of nice French 🇫🇷 wines plus more 🤣 We sat upstairs to the right which could easily be a great space for a larger group up to 16 🤣 🥩 Tatar to start followed by 🦆 with lentils 🤣 Picpoul de pinet and Pinot noir 😁👏👏 Welcoming and festive restaurant with great food and very good service. We may book for a party next year so watch this space 🤣🏴🇫🇷
Amazing French toast! Very friendly staff. The hall is unheated, cold and uncomfortable.
Very authentic French restaurant! Great food quality, service, wine. It would be even better if they had wider menu for veg or pescatarians
I had a fantastic breakfast experience at Chez Antoinette Victoria! Ordered a black coffee, eggs Benedict, and a mushroom omelet, and everything was spot on. The black coffee was rich and smooth, perfect to start the day. The eggs Benedict had perfectly poached eggs with a creamy hollandaise sauce, and the mushroom omelet was light, fluffy, and full of flavor. The ambiance was cozy, and the service was okay—friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Definitely a great spot for breakfast or brunch in London. Highly recommended!
proper French Bistro experience in the heart of (well, on edge of) Victoria! Great service, made every effort to find us a table for 3 although we had not booked in advance, and gave us seats at the bar while we waited, which was fun as we could watch the food being prepped, over a glass of red. After 20 minutes we had a table, food was good not fancy (boeuf Bourgignon with mash and greens) and reasonably priced (~£45 pp x3 incl 450cl wine and dessert). Would def. go back if/when I am in that part of London again
We had not booked and we welcomed and shown to a table and politely told the table would be required at 6.30 - which was fine It was very busy! Great atmosphere. Small choice of food which was typical French in every way- very good quality. We spent more then we had planned but were happy to do this and thought it was value for money
We arrived 15 minutes early for our brunch reservation and were warmly greeted by the host. We were lead to our table, and then abruptly ignored for about 25 minutes. We tried to get a waiter's attention but with little success. To make things more confusing, some waiting staff were uniformed and some weren't. We eventually got some one's attention and managed to give them our order. My wife order an Oat Latte, ham and cheese omelette and she ordered some mushroom and toast on the side (the omelette doesn't come with toast). I ordered a black anericano and their "Antoinette Breakfast" - their version of an English breakfast with bacon, two eggs of your choice (in my case poached), Toulouse sausage, roasted tomatoes, mushrooms, potato rostie and toast. The coffees were fine and my wife's omelette was good as was the single portabello mushroom she received. The "Antoinette Breakfast" was fine except that my potato rostie was clearly a frozen hash brown - which tasted more like frying oil than potato - and the streaky bacon resembled 3 dehydrated slugs and my poached eggs where barely runny. When I looked at other guests bacon theirs looked a bit healthier than mine. I'm not one to complain, so ate on. When it came to getting the bill it turns out we were being charged £4 for my wife's extra mushroom - bearing in mind here omelette with ham and cheese coated £12, and her extra toast was £1.75. We called the waiter over and he was totally embarrassed by the price of the mushroom and removed it from the bill. Personally I think they trade on their location and wouldn't bother going back. It's clear to me that they get enough new footfall they they don't need return customers..
I can’t really understand this restaurant. Firstly, it’s the worst French food I’ve ever had in the whole world (yes not just in London!). The cod tastes without flavour and the snail is very salty. Then, the decoration is 100% not as good as its pictures. Also, the service is confusing. I booked the table giving a note that it’s for my birthday, but they didn’t give me any birthday action until we are having desert and my friend went to them to ask?!?! That’s so ridiculous. I still paid the service fee because I don’t wanna be rude, but certainly the restaurant doesn’t deserve it.
