Best Tiramisu and coffee in the area.
Very friendly and cozy cafe. The food and coffee are great and the price is very reasonable too.
Had a breakfast at this hidden gem. Really friendly staff. Good selection of food. Welcoming atmosphere and loads of seating
Great value for money!!! The breakfast was amazing!!! Thank you Friends Cafe London!!!
Prompt, friendly service, good food, great value.
Lovely, local cafe with affordable menu prices. Lots of great breakfast and lunch options. Nothing fancy, very basic but done well. I had the chicken mayo baguette which came with a small salad on the plate. The baguette was incredibly fresh, warm, and crispy and the fillings also felt fresh and homemade. Enjoyed it a lot and I would come back.
We were tourists here, but the man who got our orders was so nice and chill with us, like we go there everyday. The food was amazing, the English Brekfast was the best food i had eaten in this holiday.
I'm pretty sure it's possible to do a greasy spoon wrong, but this cafe gets it absolutely right. A good long menu with all the options. Or food came out quick and hot. The service was friendly, the place was spotless. All in all a good one
Beautiful breakfast and friendly service
Great local cafe with friendly service. Food portions are huge!
Run by two families. Friend's Cafe brings feel of home cooked meals to it's customers. Not only a cosy and friendly atmosphere and environment. It is the most popular, so always busy Cafe in town. Meals made to order. Beverages include wine or beer with meals!
Ordered set 5, breakfast menu. Everything was perfect (especially the hashbrowns) and staff were friendly and quick. Portions were also very generous. Definitely will go again.
Very clean and calm atmosphere right in the middle of the crazy, busy and loud Woolwich highstreet. Great food lots of choice
I go here for lunch most days when I am at the office.Food is always really good quality and service friendly.I would recommend.
Fantastic veggie brekky and freshly squeezed OJ! Went two mornings in a row and didn’t need any lunch! Good value.
Yet again another great meal. This place is always busy but not heaving. The staff are friendly and the food is as always fantastic. I've never had a bed meal here.
This is our local cafe, we come here on a weekly basis. Staff are super friendly, food is always fresh and tasty and great prices. I can especially recommend the Tiramisu, it is fresh and delicious, a must try! :)
Great little cafe that we visit when staying at the Travel Lodge. A friendly welcome, comfortable atmosphere and great food. We had breakfast 1 and it was more than enough to set us up for a day exploring london. Highly recommend and look to coming back.
This place is an absolute diamond in the rough, hidden out of the way. I popped in for a coffee and had the home-made tiramisu which was absolutely sublime. The staff are friendly and seem to know everyone that comes in. Will definitely be going in again.
Have been going here for years - consistently good food and excellent service. Owner always pleasant and helpful. The best cafe in the area by far.
Lovely family owned cafe with friendly staff! I was staying close by at the Travelodge and went there to breakfast twice and my dad went another two times for dinner. We brought other guests there to show how good it was. They have a lot of options (especially breakfast — including veggie options!) My mom said that their fish n chips were the best she’s had. If I find myself back in Woolwich I will be back to this cafe. Great coffee, food, and atmosphere.
Love this café! The staff are always friendly and efficient. I have mostly ordered breakfasts here (fry-ups). There is very little grease! Always decent! There is so much more on the menu from chips, lamb chops to baked potatoes and salads. There is also outside seating. Another observation, people don't just come here to eat; people like to socialise, read, relax and stay a while!
I have been going here for over 10 years it's the best cafe Woolwich has ever known! Great variety great staff superb food!
One of the if not, the best cafe in woolwich. Food is absolutely top notch, service wonderfull. Coffee great and staff 👌. It does tend to get very very busy on weekend mornings, but that just shows how much people love it
Superb! A huge thank you to Caroline and Max for introducing me to this wonderful café. A few of us were on my monthly 'Taking the Peaceful Route' social bike ride and had just arrived on the Woolwich ferry. We'd been riding for two hours and getting hungry and Max suggested that we eat here. I was happy to agree, as I had found it difficult to get a decent meal in Woolwich on previous visits, particularly if I was accompanied by the vegans who often participate in my rides. As they were absent on this occasion, we went directly from the ferry terminal and parked our bikes at a convenient trolley stall belonging to a nearby supermarket. I was glad to see that the grey skies had cleared the outside tables, so we were able to keep an eye on the bikes (an important factor, when your Van Moof costs the thick end of £2,000!) and a cheerful waitress brought out the very extensive menu, which gave ample choice for even the fussiest eater. The food was served promptly and in an order that suggested that each was individually cooked to order, and each dish was well presented. A nice touch was the inclusion of sliced cherry tomatoes instead of the usual flabby and tasteless ordinary ones, and I'm awarding an extra ⭐ for this. My cheese and ham omelette was truly delicious, and how they managed to give a toasted crust to the cheese is a mystery, but deserves another extra ⭐! Prices are reasonable, given both the quality and quantity of the food, and my only regret is that I didn't get to photograph my meal - I was told in no uncertain terms that this is a social faux pas that is not to be tolerated if I want people to continue to participate in my social rides. Ho hum
Have always eaten at the cafe but now they do delivery is an added bonus. Food is always delicious and hot, well worth the money and the staff are always friendly. You must give it a go if you're in Woolwich.
Lovely local gem - great for breakfast and brunch. Best cafe in Woolwich
I love the cafe for me but I will never be able to take my 10 year old son because of the toilets he is SEN child in nappies and toilet not big Enough to change him if needed. Its a shame as I would love to bring him.
Delicious food, enough portions and lovely staff.
This place is a hidden gem of Woolwich. It’s nice and clean, many good options for food on the menu, and the prices are very affordable! The cafe offers freshly squeezed orange juice which is really good! I have to say that the owner is a remarkable person, he made an act of kindness towards me which was much appreciated!
Really good. The owner? is very nice, though always rushed(he's the only one out front). Had breakfast here twice, it's great, filling and inexpensive. Recommend!
Staff is super friendly, and you can have a set-up menu or build your own. Nice strawberry milkshake. Great food, awesome value vs. quality, and there's something for everyone!! I'm a loyal customer for nearly a decade, and I definitely recommend it!
Used to go regularly 10 years ago after nights out cos they did a mean fry-up but stopped going due to getting old. I went last week with friends (without any hangovers) and I’m happy to report the quality is consistently high, the service is still great (same staff) and, even better, very reasonably priced. Highly recommended for a cheap and cheerful bite.
Lovely cafe staff and really polite and helpful in there they make everyone feel welcome. Nice place to go and have a bite to eat and fun with friends and family.
Best breakfast in Woolwich, i've been coming here for rhe last 12 yrs. Always served fresh and hot by the super friendly staff. Not just breakfast but everything else on the menu is really good and generous portions as well as being very reasonable. Highly recommend.
Good customer service, very good quality coffee &food and drinks and clean place to have your breakfast or lunch.
Excellent, no frills, clean cafe. Great value well cooked food. Friendly, attentive service. Prefers cash, a rarity in London in my experience.
Best place for an English breakfast in Woolwich. Great lunch options are available too. Tasty food, friendly staff, level 5 (highest) hygiene rating, competitive pricing.
Great cafe. Lovely full English, lots of options. Coffee was really good - best cappuccino I've had for a while. The prices are very keen and the staff (owners I think) were very pleasant.
The Friends Cafe is a hidden gem of a restaurant. It's tucked away, at the top of a little side street, Barnards Close, towards the north-west end of Powis Street and opposite Hare Street. The décor is simple and understated, and everything is always immaculately clean. It's a family-run business, and the proprietor and his wife take great pride in their presentation, welcoming their patrons with friendly attentive service. The café consistently delivers well-portioned, high-quality dishes. It's renowned for its generous breakfasts and extensive all-day menu. Highlights include the very best omlettes this writer has ever enjoyed, a wonderfully indulgent homemade tiramisu, and classic English breakfasts, which have earned a devoted following. Vegetarian diners and those on special diets are also provided for. What's more, the café is licensed and air-conditioned. We have lunched at the Friends well over one hundred times, without a single disappointing meal. In south-east London it's very much our restaurant of choice, as it is for many other regular patrons; a cherished local favourite for those who appreciate delicious, unpretentious food.
Fresh orange juice and a huge English breakfast to start a day with this place. Super nice servers and comfy atmosphere.
Nice clean cafe. Friendly service, good selection of food, well presented, and very tasty. Not expensive. Very enjoyable.
Lovely little gem of a place with friendly folks and good value food. Full of locals, I just had a coffee and a bacon roll.
Feeling a bit guilty ordered breakfast when I could make it myself but absolute no regrets what’s so ever!! The portion sizes of sausages and bacon are huge not like what you can get in the supermarket and it was piping hot!! No regrets will definitely come here more often
Nice friendly old school cafe can get bit busy but quite most time. Not many cafe like this still in London
First visit. Ordered scrambled eggs, smoked salmon on toast and separately a poached eggs, avocado and toast. Food was fine and tasted fine. But wished the avacado came in huge pieces and the smoked salmon was in large slices not how I normally see either item plated in such dishes. I see them normally provided either sliced small (salmon) or mashed a bit more (avacado).
Quick service, food was nice except the veggie sausages. Polite staff but not warm and welcoming like the name suggests, maybe I caught them on a bad day.
Nicely enough prepared, but the menu is as limited as the traditional cafe of this type and only the cheapest ingredients are used (eg sausages of the lowest catering quality, tomatoes completely tasteless) and yet it's almost as expensive as the excellent Green Cafe near Greenwich station. I'm afraid once you've been there, ordinary "greasy spoon" cafes will no longer do.
Came up today with friends and also had a booking for the 2nd time with you in which got confirmation email and when we got to you guys you were shut. At the end of the day if your not gonna be open on the day that people book then you need to do two things, 1: change the opening times on your here and also let customers know when they are trying to book. There was 3 adults and a 9month old baby today and we didn't get to enjoy our day out due to your lack of communication.
Absolutely disgusting! I found 3 hairs in my food. Overpriced, bland and portions are nowhere near big enough. I complained with just eat, sent photos of your nasty hair in my food and was still refused a refund £30 for a sandwich, a crap breakfast and two small drinks. Absolute piss take. Never again. Avoid this place
