This was our 4th time here, we love coming for lunch or brunch. Food is always great, but service was especially so today! I’m used to valentines meals feeling rushed and an after thought and today was anything but that! Andres was absolutely fantastic, wonderful suggestions and service for our whole meal. Can’t wait to dine in his section again.
"A Hidden Gem for a Perfect Birthday Celebration" We visited today for my birthday, and I’m so glad we found this little hidden gem! This charming fish restaurant offers a diverse menu with something for everyone — from fresh seafood to vegan, vegetarian, and meat options. I chose the catch of the day, which was a beautifully prepared salmon, while my husband had the steak, cooked to perfection. We ended with a delicious brownie for dessert that was rich and indulgent. The location is simply stunning, right on the canal. If you can, definitely ask for a table by the water — it’s by far the best spot to soak in the atmosphere. The wine was absolutely incredible — easily the best I’ve ever tasted, and it paired wonderfully with our meals. The overall experience was top-notch, from the intimate atmosphere to the impeccable table service. 10/10 all around! We’ll definitely be back soon.
Canal dining at its finest! We had a fantastic dinner at The Summerhouse—pre-booking is definitely essential, as it was already buzzing by 6pm. We were lucky to get a lovely table right by the water, which really added to the experience. The atmosphere was vibrant but relaxed, with a great mix of locals and visitors enjoying the evening. The food was absolutely delicious, the drinks were spot on, and the service was genuinely impressive—friendly, attentive, and professional. A perfect spot for a warm evening by the canal. Well worth a visit if you’re in Little Venice!
What a beautiful lunch we had here today! Stunning food that was full of flavour and wonderful service. Truly impressed with the gorgeous setting and attention to detail. The prices are reasonable when you take into consideration the location, service, quality of food and overall experience.
I was looking at canalside restaurants on Google and decided to make a reservation for my fiancé and his parents. The table we were given was charming and the food was exquisite. The waiter was very considerate of my fiancé's mother's allergies. We'll be back. I highly recommend it.
Nice spot in Little Venice. Recommend to book in advance if you want a table by the water.. special dish was amazing. Kids food was not great, wish they did proper fish and seafood for kids menu as well.
Fabulous location, slightly hidden away and just a hop, skip and jump from Paddington. Menu full of the usual favourites, as well as some other interesting bites to tease your pallet! Great views over the canal, so try to book a table on the terrace. Prices were very reasonable, and we were lucky enough to be served by the very lovely and full of laughs, Estelle! She took our fun meal and made it fabulous!!! Thank you Estelle, when we come back we will demand you!
Beautiful setting, the food was impeccable. The lamb, wow! Thank you tp the team, we felt very welcome amd looked after. Will be returning.
Atmosphere is lovely. Worth going just for a table by the canal, absolutely stunning! The food is tasty but the portions aren't huge, I wasn't that full after 3 courses. The 2 white wines I tried weren't great. I usually don't get dessert as I don't have a sweet tooth but I got the Knickerbocker Glory for old times' sake and it was the best I've ever had! The service was great too, very friendly.
Beautiful food full of flavour. Excellent service. Location is lovely right by the canal. Great atmosphere They gave us a table by the canal which was really nice.
Came here for my dad's birthday and we all thoroughly enjoyed the food and drinks. The staff were lovely and the entire restaurant was more beautiful than expected after looking at images online. Fish and chips were amazing and so was the trout. Also recommend if there's four of you.. get a mix of starters: popcorn shrimp, calamari, pitta and humous and burrata with grilled peaches. Didn't disappoint
The Summerhouse is such a charming spot, especially on a sunny day. The setting right by the canal is beautiful and gives a real holiday feel without leaving London. The seafood was fresh and delicious, we enjoyed the prawns and calamari, paired perfectly with a crisp glass of white wine. The atmosphere is relaxed yet elegant, making it a great place for lunch or a leisurely dinner. Definitely worth a visit for good food and a lovely waterside vibe
Breakfast was lovely and really tasty. I had scrambled eggs on toast which was delicious, my partner had the French toast which he really enjoyed. Staff were lovely, gave us a great table and decor was stunning. I had told them it was my partner’s birthday, and they surprised him with a scoop of ice cream - which was the perfect start to the birthday celebrations ✨❤️
We came here for my partners birthday meal and the customer service was amazing. Kat was our waitress (but all stuff were friendly) and she was very attentive, friendly and polite. She accommodated to our dietary requests with ease, thank you for a great service and the food was GREAT!
Nicely located restaurant, just a walking distance from Little Venice. Good seafood options, Summerhouse sharing platter was delicious, everything fresh and tasty (popcorn shrimps top). Nice and professional staff, they were booked out but still managed to squeeze us in.
Went here for brunch which was delicious. Such a gem tucked away in a quiet part of London, yet so central ! The staff were so attentive and professional and polite. The food was freshly cooked and delicious. I also particularly enjoyed the decor. A sea/fish theme was tastefully represented. Such a lovely restaurant for families too in a location overlooking the canal which is perfect for a gentle walk. Found the whole experience quite heart warming!!
This was a great place to have lunch before starting our walk from Little Venice. The servers were extremely attentive. The view of the lock was wonderful. And, most importantly, the food was fresh and well prepared. We shared the charred asparagus and that left us wanting more. She had the sea bass and I had the tuna. Both were cooked very well and had complimentary sauces. That and our glasses of Sauvignon Blanc and Cote du Rhône, respectively, made for a very pleasant and vegetable forward lunch.
We found this wonderful restaurant by accident after catching the canal boat down from Camden Market. What a find. Fabulous views and wonderful menu and service.
Lovely restaurant right on the canal bank. Well ⁹laid out and good views even if you don't get a canal side table. One thing, if you order the fish and chips, be prepared for one big 🐟 on your plate.
Visited for my birthday. A great find. Lovely location and restaurant was so pretty. Great food and friendly staff. Will definitely be visiting again.
A very lovely seafood reataurant by a canal, decorated with beach theme. They serve fine selection of seafood. The food is served with great design (maybe by food stylist). Every plate has very fancy look and is also very tasty. If you're a wine lover, you will enjoy many selection they offer.
Had some visiting family from abroad and lucked out with the weather. We were totally in the mood for fish by the riverside. Managed to squeeze a table last minute, and it didn't disappoint. Fabulously tasty fish. My aunt doubled down on the oysters, and I went nuts over the catch of the day, which sat on top of truffle mash. Not the easiest to get a table in the summer but completely worthwhile.
Really enjoyed it. The restaurant is perfect for a date night. It is right on the canal, so you can enjoy the romantic view with light music and soft lights. Our waiter was amazing but unfortunately I can't remember his name. Ordered to share the fish mix as a starter, half lobster, cheese platter and a bottle of wine for just over 100£. I consider it a reasonable price for the location and quality of the food. Looking towards visiting the venue again maybe when the weather warm up
We LOVED the food at The Summer House. The staff was attentive and very hospitable. I celebrated my birthday here and they made it so special! The Super Healthy Salad, Mezze and Butternut Squash soup are a must try. We enjoyed the ambiance and if we were from England we’d be sure to come back to this spot. Coming from 2 tourists from the US- this place does not disappoint.
Beautiful restaurant on little venice. Excellent fish dishes, cocktails and desserts, wonderful staff and stunning views. Definitely recommend heading here of you're a fish lover.
Best place for a summer meal! Set beautifully along the Little Venice canal, this place serves fresh and fabulous seafood! Menu highlights- oysters, grilled broccoli (trust me it’s delicious!!) and IPA battered haddock. Staff is friendly and courteous.
I came to the restaurant not expecting much. Wanted to come here before but it blew up on social media so it’s been hard to get a reservation. Managed to get a booking pretty last minute and am glad we tried this place! They really know how to do seafood. The scallops were great (even though we asked to exclude the pancetta bits), and the fish was even better! The hake, haddock, and halibut all tasted fresh and were perfectly cooked. Special mention to our server Uthra who really went out of her way to make our dining experience that much better. She recommended the catch of the day and that was arguably the best dish we had.
This restaurant boasts a fantastic location and truly great food. However, the highlight of our visit was our server, Uthra. We dined here in December, and as 2 people with specific dietary preferences, we often find eating out a challenge. Many servers struggle to grasp or remember our requirements, but Uthra was exceptional. She understood immediately, anticipated our needs, and remembered every detail without being prompted. Her attentiveness made the meal far more enjoyable and relaxed than we expected. To top it off, she kindly gave us two Christmas crackers, despite the fact we hadn't booked a specific festive menu. It was a thoughtful touch that made our evening. I can't recommend this place—and specifically Uthra’s service—highly enough Thank you so much!
Our first visit and everything was perfect! From the warm welcome at the door, to the beautiful canal side seat, to the gorgeous helpful service! Then there was the food (and wine!). The best scallops either me or my mum had had. She also loved the halibut, and my guinea fowl didn’t last long. A very special, peaceful setting in a beautiful area of London. Great accessibility too. Thank you!
We had a party of 11.Prior to the lunch everyone needed to select what they wanted from a good special menu and submit their selection again their name. As people arrived they were given their name card with their food selection on the revers of the card. This allowed the excellent waiting staff to provide everyone with their selection without disturbing conversations asking everyone what they had ordered. It was a very clever system and the excellent staff allowed for some people to change what they had previously selected. Everything went perfectly. We will be back for the next reunion.
A group of 6 adults and a 5 year old had brunch at this lovely restaurant in September 2025. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The choice was fab including freshly squeezed orange juice. Everyone loved their food and the coffee was delicious. Exceptional value for money for London and the location on side of a canal is amazing. Will definitely eat there again when in London.
Really enjoyed our meal here. Nice location by the side of the canal, restaurant interior also decorated very well to feel summery with lots of plants everywhere. Food was all excellent with good variety of things to choose from. Waiters were very attentive and helpful.
A lovely restaurant by Regent's Canal and a stone's throw away from Little Venice. The boat-like decor is gorgeous, it feels like you are on a riverboat although the building is on terra firma. Went there for brunch - the menu was classic but did the job perfectly well.
I adore this beautiful restaurant by the canal. The atmosphere has a blend of calm elegance, the decor is very fresh and uplifting with seasonal highlights, this truly is a hidden canal gem. Whatever the season you will feel comfortable, a very warm and cozy ambience in the winter months and gorgeous dappled light overlooking the canal in the summer months! You must book to guarantee a canal side table on their busier days. The menu has a very balanced selection, I very much enjoy the more delicate, sophisticated palate, the food is always served fresh and piping hot, with good portion sizes. A lovely family friendly atmosphere where staff really make you feel very welcome with their impeccable service, Andre is especially attentive, and very helpful in selecting dishes. The speed of service is welcomed too. This is by far my favourite restaurant 🏆
We had the most incredible experience here on Saturday 7th Feb for our anniversary. We travelled from the midlands and found this restaurant on Google, and it did not disappoint! Our journey to London started with our train being cancelled, so I called ahead and warned the staff that we may not make it in time for our 5.30 reservation. The gentleman on the phone was so reassuring and assured us not to panic. We thankfully arrived in time and from the second we walked in we were treated like royalty! The staff were highly attentive, and the food was sensational. We had a waterside table which made the evening all the more magical. Thank you so much everyone for the most perfect experience. We will definitely be back.
Came here for brunch during the long weekend and overall had a really good time. We got assigned a table by the canal which was definitely a perk. The brunch menu was quite small but you could still find most of the traditional breakfast dishes like Full English, Egg Benedict, Scrambled Egg on Toast and etc. We went for the French Toast with Banana and Maple Syrup and the Scrambled Egg on Toast with Bacon & Mushrooms, and both turned out to be fairly delicious. The dishes were also reasonably priced for the portion and quality, and we ended up paying less than £15 per person for the everything.
Beautiful especially when the sun is shining in London! I had the smoked trout, and they very easily swopped the asparagus for green beans. The menu is not very wide though.
A very pleasant working lunch, sat with a nice view of the canal as the early Autumn-sun shone. The food/seasoning was a little too subtle for my palette but the ingredients were of good quality and it was presented well. I had the calamari starter and sea bass special main course. I can't fault the very friendly, attentive and professional service. I'd happily return to try something with a bit more zing.
Exquisite dinning at this treasure in little Venice. The interior decor is accentuated by the river bank streaming alongside the restaurant. This lovely ambiance is well-matched with the incredible food at the Summerhouse. The quality of their seafood is commendable. My friend and I had the pleasure of sharing their fresh oysters, seared scallops, and popcorn shrimp as starters, followed by the catch of the day. A memorable experience. It goes without saying that the team of waiters deserve much credit for their service. They were attentive to our needs, friendly, and offered excellent recommendations for food and drink. The prices were quite steep, but this is standard for most of London. If you’re in the mood for a treat, I suggest keeping Summerhouse on your fine dining list.
Lovely lunch on Good Friday. I really enjoyed my Halibut. I was looking forward to enjoying the "catch of the day", however, it was salmon. I was disappointed by this as I would not class salmon as a catch of the day fish, especially not on Good Friday. The crab starter made a nice change, and the desert appeared freshly prepared. Great location, and I will look forward to a further visit when the weather is warmer and we can enjoy the alfresco feeling. The service was spot on, too.
Beautiful restaurants Amazing location the food is not bad, but it’s not the top is very expensive. There is a big problem. Internally there is no ventilation and after a few minutes it is invaded. From the fried smell they should fix the ventilation better For the rest everything is very pleasant, the service is exceptional. And the employees are very nice.
I booked this reservation well ahead because I am in American visiting London for the first time. I booked my reservation for 245pm And the grace period ran until 3:00 PM. Since I was coming directly from the airport, my Uber wasn't going to arrive until 3:05 PM, so I called ahead and let them know that I was going to be running late. The male host over the phone told me that the kitchen closed at 3:00 PM for an Event/for clean up before dinner. I told him that I was going to arrive at 3:05 and I asked if I could put in my order over the phone. He rudely said “if you insist.” I hung up the phone to try to collect orders from my friends to call him back. A friend who was traveling separately, was able to get there at 2:45 so he put in the order for us instead. When he got there, he told me that everyone, All the servers and hosts Were delightful! The drinks were wonderful, and the food was great! We were not rushed or anything! But I was very confused as to why the host over the phone was so angry with me over the phone. After thinking about it, Though it’s true that it is my fault to arrive late. I don’t think that the restaurant should allow patrons to make a reservation at 2:45 with a grace period until 3 o’clock if the kitchen closes at three. If I were to arrive at 3 o’clock, were they just going to tell me that I couldn’t order at all? All in all, aside from that unfortunate experience over the phone, and the situation with the kitchen closing, everything was wonderful. The restaurant was gorgeous, the food was delicious, and the drinks were very good.! We got the risotto which was delicious, but there was no protein by the way if you usually expect one with that,The Seabass with green beans, which was particularly delicious, The burrata, which was a standard Burrata, and the fish and chips, which were good as usual! Everything was on the price your side, but I think the view and ambience kind of makes up for it ! We spent about 350 pounds for five people.
Ambience is definitely lovely on a sunny day. The house is quite full, even for lunch time we booked table at 2pm. The signature seafood plates was 💯, however the other main full sea bass was quite tasteless. Waitress was nice, helping us move to near river seat when next door guests gone. Avg 40-50/ppl.
Dined here whilst away on business. 3x Oysters to start with, which were very fresh, well prepared, and incredibly tasty. For the main course, the Stone Bass was exquisite. The fish was a chunky sized fillet, cooked perfectly, accompanied with a lovely menagerie of cockles, pancetta, carrots, and chive mash. A delightful dish all round. Service was fantastic. Staff were very attentive and welcoming. The scenery next to the canal was also brilliant and very picturesque. Highly recommend.
The restaurant is really fancy, and I absolutely loved the view — it made the whole experience feel extra special. We went there for brunch and cocktails, and from the moment we arrived, everything felt stylish and enjoyable. The passion fruit cocktail was served in the cutest way, and the drinks and food were delicious. Overall, we had such a great time and really enjoyed some quality moments together. Definitely a place I’d recommend!
I couldn’t fault the service at The Summerhouse, the staff were excellent throughout. The setting along the canal is lovely and makes for a pleasant atmosphere. The food, however, was fairly average overall. The clam chowder starter was the highlight of the meal, but nothing else particularly stood out. A nice spot for the location and service, but the cooking didn’t quite match the setting.
The food was delicious however it was hard to have a leisurely meal with family as they were very keen to get us out as fast as possible for the next booking despite there being many other free tables. The canal side tables are beautiful but just know that you can’t enjoy your time at it
The restaurant has great ambience and is quite busy, the food is rather bland and is clearly catering to those who like seafood and not those who love it. The dishes had a lack of natural flavours and although the portions were decent, the food is not memorable
A brunch spot decorated with fake flowers along the river. We came when it was raining, but we were still able to sit right next to the river since there were plastic curtains. Food wise, the beet salad and the fish special were my favorite. It was a bit pricey for the quality of the food. Nothing really stood out about this place aside from location.
The tall skinny Caucasian guy receptionist at the entrance was rude, obnoxious, and condescending- read other 1-star reviews and you will find out! Recommend restaurant to train him again as his demeanor seriously damages the whole experience in a place with great view. Other than that food was of decent quality (we had fish cakes), service was ok, nonetheless we found a big bone in it. Guess that means the cakes are made from fresh which is good, but would appreciate some warning in case anyone with swallowing difficulty/ small children are eating the dish.
