Excellent dinner! We came on a Wednesday night and it was fairly quiet but not dead - moderately busy. We booked with First Table for 50% and for two people with two glasses of wine and a bottle of water it came to a little over £100 which was really great value. The sashimi was delicious as was the aubergine, fried chicken and wagyu hand roll. Service-wise, the staff were all attentive and really nice.

TLDR: 100% wonderful experience and I think this restaurant is underrated. Booked the omakase experience for my partner’s birthday. The price is definitely on an affordable side when it comes to London’s market, just 100 per person. The food is just fantastic, approved as both East Asians. Fish are fresh, the sauces and oil from the fish are a perfect match. The wagyu was soft, with wonderful aftertaste. They even gave us a lovely surprise of a little matcha cake, thank you! Our waitress Caroline was very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The hostess and host are helpful as well. Thank you for everyone to make our experience so unforgettable. This place is very underrated with not much review online so I contributed to it. As a hotelier and a customer, this place deserved to be known.

We were a group of 9, we lots of dietary requirements and all were accommodated! The venue is really pretty, the atmosphere is dark, intimate… the place has a real identity. The cocktail menue is amazing… classic with a Japanese twist ! The negroni with umeshu! Incredible The food ! Extraordinary! The beef tataki was just perfect ! And the Yuzu salmon bite ! Wahoo ! The portions are quite small… we had to do a second service . And for the service Valentina, was th best ! She made the evening perfect ! Thank you so much ! ☺️

Stunning food and lovely setting. The staff were really lovely, but a couple lacked a little knowledge on the menu. However, they were super helpful and friendly. The pork belly skewers were stunning - highly recommended.

We had a very good experience enjoying food at Tokii with chef Patrick. He not only crafted each piece with precision but also took the time to explain the sushi — from the origin of the fish to the balance of rice and seasoning. I love the atmosphere, with dark wood and soft lighting make it very chill and relax

Phenomenal! Dined and have done the sushi making class and would HIGHLY recommend both experiences! One of my fave meals in London

J

We had the Sushi making course, it was fantastic! An hour of so much detailed sushi making and the history around techniques and ways of making the sushi. Our sushi chef Kazuyo was brilliant, happy and such a great teacher! Thank you and will come again!

I had the amazing experience of learning how to make sushi here. Patrick was our wonderful Sous Chef who walked us through the process. I would definitely eat here again :)

Had dinner at TOKii last night. The food was very good and the place was nice. Thanks to Rishu for the kind service. I will come back.

My fiancee and I booked two experiences from TOKii. We came in around 1pm for an afternoon tea, and were directed to the restaurant by the hotel staff. Ling assisted and explained every step of our afternoon tea. Has good knowledge of the teas and differences. We initially thought that the food wasn’t a lot however halfway through the experience, we felt quite full and take our time trying the different teas and experience. I enjoyed the ceremonial matcha and hojicha. Our second experience was the sushi masterclass, at this point - our stomach is near its limit! But who would pass this experience and try their own made sushi right? June, was so kind and talked to us all the way through and shared his experiences. We absolutely enjoyed this experience! Had a toast of sparkling sake and miso soup at the end too. I would definitely recommend this to everyone 😉 Had an amazing Sunday to start the week!

I had an incredible omakase experience at Tokii - the perfect Mother’s Day treat! It was my mum’s first time trying omakase, and it couldn’t have been more special. We were served by Chef Kazuyo, who made the evening even more memorable with her skill, warmth, and attention to detail. The 11-course menu was beautifully curated, featuring an impressive selection of fresh fish, expertly crafted sushi, and melt-in-your-mouth wagyu. Every dish was a work of art. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a refined and unforgettable dining experience in London.

We were invited to the afternoon tea experience. From the start to the finish we were very professionally attended to. The different teas were explained to us, which we thoroughly enjoyed. What we thought was the complete set of savouries and sweets were first served. They were all delicious and very well prepared. The Scones, cream, and strawberry jam followed. They, too, were exquisite. By the end, we were very full. Think of this as a meal in itself.

Had a meal here with my friends few weeks ago! The food is amazing and fresh. I loved the Wagyuu A5 nigiri! The beef melts in your mouth, and the sauce that comes with it is so good. Will be coming again sometimes soon :)

What a fantastic spot with amazing food! You can really taste the quality of the ingredients in every dish. The service was also top-notch! Thanks to First Table, we enjoyed a great discount on the full menu, which let us sample way more dishes than we normally would have. We tried the Lotus crisps, Pork belly teriyaki Tokii-style skewers, and the Spinach in goma sauce (absolutely insane!). The Beef fillet tataki with red onion salsa, truffle ponzu, and garlic crisps was out of this world. We also loved the Lobster and Devon crab croquettes with mango and yuzu, and the Miso-glazed black cod with sweetcorn fried rice. The mix sushi and sashimi platter was a hit, too! And we simply couldn’t leave without trying their signature Hot stone wagyu beef with grilled vegetables and spicy ponzu—seriously, it was otherworldly! Make sure to save room for dessert, especially the Dark chocolate fondant. Every bite was a flavor explosion, complemented by impeccable service. Highly recommend!

Our dinner at Tokii was absolutely fabulous. It was such an enjoyable, casual but intimate evening. My partner and I were met with a friendly smile from the loveliest and most skilful Kazuyo who spoiled us with an amazing 11-course meal. It was our first omakase experience, though won't be our last. A beautiful night to remember. Thank you so much Kazuyo for the wonderful time! We hope you have a chance to drop by Scotland soon.

What an experience this was! The afternoon tea was delicious 😋. I took my friend here for her birthday and she absolutely loved it. The staff here are exceptional and they really made the experience so much more. I have to give a shout-out to Elizabeth. She really was great at serving us and our needs. My friend has severe allergies and she made sure that everything was perfect for her always checking if everything was ok. She also got the chef to do a happy birthday plate for my friend, honestly she was so sweet and I really felt great leaving the restaurant and it also made me want to come back very soon! I also have to mention Joanna who was also super helpful and friendly. What a lovely place to dine!❤️

I had booked the afternoon tea menu for my 30th Birthday treat with my mother. It was such a lovely experience. The afternoon tea selection was delicious and well presented, the staff were friendly and explained in details on what was on the menu. The atmosphere was beautifully designed and minimal. The afternoon tea itself was so worth the money also, I felt fully satisfied and sooo full afterwards - that I didn't even have dinner that night. I would definitely go there again and experience one of the workshops maybe. They even did a nice happy birthday sign for me, with chocolate strawberries and macarons.

Great design, waitress seemed a bit new but that’s not an issue we all start somewhere, the food was incredible, fresh, hot, u could feel it was made w great quality. would recommend.

We came here for the Tokii Omakase 11-course tasting menu for my wife’s birthday. Needless to say, we were very impressed with the dishes. From the seared A5 wagyu nigiri to hamachi sushi, they were all perfect. Chef Jhun was personable and knowledgeable in Japanese cuisine having worked in the industry for almost 35 years. A wonderful experience. Highly recommended.

Booked the afternoon tea for my partners birthday meal. One of the best I have ever had, usually there is always something that isn't as good but everything was perfect. Since we booked it for a Monday afternoon there was only two other guests, so it was a lovely and quiet atmosphere. Food arrived quite quickly and the presentation was amazing. The waitress was very friendly and was thorough in explaining what everything was, also informing us that today was the first day of the Wimbledon themed desserts. I will most definitely be coming back and telling my friends & family about this afternoon tea :D Update 27 June 2025: I've loved this restaurant for their afternoon tea, and have always highly recommended it to others. This was my first time trying their dinner menu and it was lovely. The highlight of the evening was the pork belly skewers, they were divine. So soft and tender. As much as I wanted to give 5 stars for everything, I have to say that the service was extremely slow, which the waitress who served us apologised for, and I understand that it can get difficult due to short staff and too many bookings for that evening but the time spent waiting was a bit ridiculous. After we were sat it took a while for our order to be taken, but food came out quite quickly which was great, but then we were left sitting with a table full of empty plates for over 30 minutes. And then finally they were cleared and we asked for dessert, which also arrived rather quickly but then after we finished no one approached our table again until we signalled. We asked for the bill and then it was another painful wait for a card machine to be brought over. I would still come again and hope that next time the service runs a bit smoother.

We went to celebrate my daughter’s birthday, we tasted wagyu for the first time, OMG, it was the best meat I’ve ever put in my mouth. The service was amazing, they don’t have candles to put on the chocolate fondant, instead we were offered some desserts on a plate with Happy Birthday written on it. We don’t know why there were only two tables’ clients the day we went (for lunch)..

I attended the Sushi Masterclass with my wife who is a sushi fanatic. There was another couple there with us. We had Shun as our Sushi Chef for the day. His explanations were simple and easy to follow especially for myself who had never made sushi before. He kept us entertained throughout the session. I would recommend others to try the sushi masterclass. (I made all of the Sushi in the pictures).

TOKii is based inside the Prince Akatoki Hotel. It's a super stylish, authentic Japanese experience and is a must visit for any fans of Japanese culture or cuisine. We visited TOKii for afternoon tea, including the saki pairings option. The service and food were both excellent. We took one for the team and asked if any of the food items were refillable - they're not. However, we were pretty stuffed by the end so rest assured, you get more than enough food!

I went with my niece for lunch to celebrate her birthday. The service was absolutely brilliant, super friendly and attentive. Food was delicious, especially the wagyu handroll and matcha tiramisu. Most portions were small for the price but I had a discounted booking so I was really happy with it

Excellent restaurant but a little bit pricey. Teriyaki duck breast (orange, pomegranate, hazelnuts) Yellowtail hosomaki Robata grilled aubergine (chilli, spring onion, ginger miso) Wine (Langhe Arneis) Matcha tea (matcha green velvet lalani & co) Chocolate fondant Good afternoon tea possible too.

We absolutely loved the food here! A bit pricey, but we had a first table 50% offer on the food. The beef tataki is to die for, the salmon belly nigiri just melts in your mouth! It was just such a lovely experience, everything was delicious. And the hotel’s toilets were 🔥 😂

Rakesh was exceptional at Tokii. He was highly professional and genuinely pleasant, and he made this important evening truly unforgettable for us. The food was absolutely incredible — bold, refined, and extraordinary in every way. We thank him from the bottom of our hearts.

We had an outstanding experience at Tokii thanks to Valentina. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely made the visit memorable. Her service was professional yet friendly, and she made sure every detail was taken care of without being intrusive. Valentina’s recommendations were spot-on, and her positive energy added so much to the overall dining experience. A true credit to the team at Tokii — thank you, Valentina, for making the evening exceptional!

Lovely food and cocktails. Fresh food and came hot. Atmosphere was chilled and calm. Henry and Claudia are lovely amazing service, friendly and accomodating will definitely come here again. I will recommend to friends and family to come here. Only issue is I wish the portion size was bigger but presentation was lovely

I brought my girlfriend the Omakase experience as we wanted to try a Japanese themed tasting menu and wow what a great experience. From the moment we arrived, everyone was very welcoming and friendly. We sat at the counter where they make the sushi, which was really cool. Big shout out to chefs Patrick and Kazuyo - they were both excellent with their skills and time, as we were asking lots of questions about each dish. After a few courses It felt like we had known Kazuyo for years, she was great fun, providing background to her routes in Japan - getting to know the chef on this level really enchanted our experience. Alongside this the food was amazing, couldn’t fault any dish. In summary, great for a special occasion, couldn’t recommend enough.

I went there with few of my besties on a Tuesday evening. The restaurant is located inside the hotel. First impression was good. The receptionist was welcoming and friendly. The place looks posh. The lady who served us was helpful. I am a cocktails girl but sadly they have limited cocktail list. So I ended up having orange juice 🙄 Food came fairly quick but super small potion. Main course is like a starter size. However, they were very yummy. Just one small problem: we had finished our starters and main but we were still waiting for our Sashimi. Usually, you get them at the beginning of the meal, like a starter. We just found it a bit odd. I ain't a dessert person but they do matcha tiramisu and I got to try it. It was very nice indeed. Not too sweet and perfect for my liking. Thank you for my friend and we had 50% off. I will go back for their afternoon tea next time.

The food was really good, really like the salmon starter dish and the yellow tail. Their fish dishes are very fresh. Service and environment are great! From my opinion, its a little bit overpriced.

My husband and I tried the Omakase menu. The food was delicious. Our server, Khadija was knowledgeable and explained each course that she served to us, which added to a more memorable experience. She also recommended a sake, which we appreciated as it was light and suited the dish we had with it. The chef made each course look amazing and taste great. The food was good, and the experience was nice. The one flaw: the desert was incredibly small!

TOKii (apparently 時, if one must) is a small restaurant in the Prince Akatoki London. Pleasant décor, although the music is just a little loud if one is sitting under one of the Bose speakers. Staff clearly trying hard although slightly varied in ability levels. Afternoon tea excellent, and not bad value at £60 for the standard set. Achieves something difficult, namely making everything in the afternoon tea set good.

Y
Yasir

Atmosphere is good. Service is good and quick. Connected to hotel. We came for afternoon tea which was delightful. The best sando was the salmon and the desserts were good too. We weren’t a fan of the scones. We also hoped for more sushi. Milk oolong tea was good but slightly too sweet/buttery for us and yuzu oolong tea was good. We had 50% so was worth it for £75 for two.

J

Nice place, good sushi, very fresh and well put together. Service was surprisingly patchy though. You just shouldn't have to ask for a glass of wine four times to get it. And it wasn't pretty quiet on a Saturday afternoon.

In the heart of Marylebone, there is a fantastic Japanese restaurant. We had a great day there and were escorted by Loreley, the waitress. To be honest, we would not have had as much fun if it hadn't been for her recommendations. We ordered a variety of dishes, with the finest being the grilled aubergines, octopus skewer, and beef tataki fillet. All very tasty and there's a lot of it. The rest of the food was tasty too, however avoid using soy sauce because it masks the flavour of the food. Cocktails were modest for the price but delicious. It's a good idea to go for special occasions and a bit expensive!

D
Deema Qawaqzeh

I ordered the buttermilk fried chicken bites, truffle fries, and the duck. I liked the things I had, especially the duck. However, everyone else didn’t think the food lived up to the expectations. The atmosphere was quite nice and so was the service.

M
Matt Grey

Came away pretty disappointed. It’s very expensive for what you get, with small portions that don’t really justify the price. Nothing stood out as particularly special and the sushi in particular wasn’t as fresh or as tasty as you’d expect at this level. The service was also quite slow, which didn’t help. The only saving thing was that ambiance was good though and the decor did genuinely feel like you could be in Tokyo. Overall it felt underwhelming and not great value, especially compared to other Japanese places in London doing much better food for less.

Reserved in advance for a group of 10 for a Thursday evening. Initially we were the only table, but every table did eventually fill up throughout the night. Food was very good quality and especially the taste. Portions were quite small though for the price. Black cod was one of the dish highlights. Service however was very poor. It was hard to get any service throughout the night, even when staff just hanging around. Part of our orders were forgotten, incorrect portion amounts given, speed of service was slow, they couldn’t split a multi portion dish to separate plates, the list goes on… it’s surprising for a restaurant that gives off a refined setting to have such bad service.

M
MK4715

Ate here with colleagues on the first table discount. Good menu, but food was average and incredibly small portions, glad we didn’t pay full price. The service was pretty poor - my colleague had been fasting for Ramadan and asked for a glass of water when we arrived and the waitress snapped back at him. Drinks were forgotten about and then offered to come out later with desert - odd... Took ages to get someone’s attention but most staff very polite. Restaurant is nicely decorated with good, calm atmosphere

Good COVID-19 protection, good environment. Good service. We had afternoon tea while it is on offer with gov scheme. Beautiful afternoon tea set, the ones I like are match cake and crème brulee. Tea is nice. Overall quality was just ok. Sandwich, bun were too dried.

After visiting and being blown away on 10 April, we didn’t leave it long to book in for another meal at Tokii (24 April). During our first meal here the service staff were very attentive, friendly and more than happy to go out of their way to make our meal really special and enjoyable. Our waitress was so lovely and even willing to share some of her Japanese cultural traditions with us, which made the meal even more memorable. I was so excited to return for our second meal. However it fell flat with a capital F. Our waitress for the evening on 24 April was rude, abrupt, curt, unfriendly and hostile. Once we had sat down we were told we would have to share a food menu (there were three of us dining), because of a shortage. That was not a massive problem and we discussed what we would order. When I asked to see the cocktail list, our waitress informed us that cocktails “are not really available”. I asked her if clarify what this meant. She responded that we would not be able to have cocktails with our meal because the bar was busy. I explained that we would not mind waiting and she abruptly told us to expect a 30 minute wait on cocktails, which we accepted. She then still failed to bring a cocktail menu and when I prompted her for the menus responsed “in a minute”. When she finally brought one cocktail menu it was unpleasantly slammed onto the table. When she came to take our cocktail order it was apparent that she did not want us to order cocktails, but we did anyway. I am perplexed why there is any discouragement for customers ordering £16-£18 drinks. This unhelpful and rude attitude continued throughout our meal. This waitress was either reluctant to share her knowledge of the menu or had desperately lacking knowledge - either way, unacceptable. Every time we asked for water, soy sauce, other condiments we had to ask 2-3 times before it was reluctantly brought to our table. Much of the food was consumed cold due to the wait for the accompanying condiments. As a table, we decided we did not want to pay the service fee as the waitress had made us feel so unwelcome. However, when she presented us with the card machine she advised that the fee was not discretionary, as described on the menu, so we were left with no choice but to pay in full. Despite the food quality being very good, this experience was such a disappointment, especially after such amazing service only 2 weeks prior. We have been left with a sour taste in our mouths!

E
Elena T.

The overall experience was underwhelming. The service left much to be desired — we ordered a bottle of white wine which was placed in an ice bucket far from our table, and no one came to top up our glasses throughout the meal. We ordered the largest sushi and sashimi platter, but surprisingly weren’t provided with any soy sauce until we asked. On a more positive note, the miso black cod with sweetcorn fried rice was well-prepared and flavourful, though the portion was quite small. Overall, the food felt overpriced and lacked the authenticity we were hoping for. .

Didn't love this place. Prices are outrageous. Portions are small for the price. Food is not good. Tuna Tartare had no flavor. Scallops were minuscule tough and overcooked. Though the charred flavor was good. The tempura shrimp roll was not good either. Tasted like a fast food takeout version. The seabass portion also small for the price. Taste good. Lots of bones. The fried rice was fine. Pretty restaurant. Nice music. No real personality here as it was practically empty on a Wednesday evening. Service was fine. Overall very disappointed.

L
Leo Ng

The receptionist (Valentina) was rude and very unwelcoming. She sounds like shouting at the guests rather than welcoming them. Food was ok but portion was relatively small especially the miso black cod with sweetcorn fried rice (£40)

P
Poom S.

The atmosphere was fantastic and the service was good. While we were eating, the host asked us 4 times if everything was ok. A la cart options were great and tasty. However, tempura bento £22was not delicious at all. The rice was slightly hard and the tempura didn’t come with dipping sauce. I would skip their bento options. Green tea was £5.

Shocking Service and Underwhelming Sushi. Visited Tokii on a Saturday night and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. We ordered starters and sushi rolls for three people, but the service was slow and disorganised throughout the evening. Despite ordering water for three, only one bottle was brought to the table. When our sushi rolls arrived, there was no soy sauce provided — something you'd typically expect to be on the table or offered automatically. We asked for it and waited around 15 minutes to receive just one serving for three people. After requesting two more, the waiter seemed to forget about us completely. It took repeated follow-ups before we finally received it. Parts of our main dish were never brought out. We flagged this multiple times, were told it would be "a few minutes," but after 1 hour of waiting post-meal, we had to cancel it altogether as there was no sign they were coming at all. To top it off, it took over 30 minutes for someone to bring the card machine so we could pay, despite us asking several times. There was no apology for the delays or oversight, and they still included a service charge — which felt completely unjustified given the experience. The sushi itself was subpar and we actually left hungrier than we had arrived. That said, the aubergine dish and edamame were quite good, and the location is convenient. But overall, the poor service overshadowed everything. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning.

Really disappointing Omakase experience. I sent an email to both Tokii and The Prince Akatoki Hotel regarding our experience and never even got a response. Which even further compounded to the disappointing level of service, especially from a Forbes 5 star hotel. While the food itself was delicious, this is where the positives ended. What a waste of £500. Below is exactly what I sent them; Despite emailing ahead to note my vegetarian dietary requirement, the first course served to our table contained fish. When I informed the server, I was told there had been no prior knowledge of my request and that they would “make arrangements.” As a result, my guests had their first course in front of them for approximately 25 minutes while we waited for mine to arrive, only to be served what was essentially a simple salad. I was so uncomfortable and embarrassed for making them sit and wait so long. We also had to inquire about our welcome highballs, which only arrived shortly before my first course. Throughout the meal, explanations of each dish were inconsistent and difficult to hear. Even after asking servers to repeat themselves, we often ended up eating courses without understanding what had been presented. As no written menu was provided, this lack of communication diminished the overall dining experience. Beverage service was also concerning. After finishing our welcome drinks, no one checked in to see if we would like anything else; we had to flag down a server to order a bottle of wine. When it was brought to the table, I was shown the bottle but not offered a taste before it was poured to each of us. While the wine happened to be fine, this is not the professional standard expected, particularly when serving a corked wine in a Five-Star establishment. When we finished that bottle, we were asked if we would like another. We responded that perhaps we would after finishing our current glasses, but no one returned to follow up for the rest of the evening. Water service was similarly lacking, our glasses remained empty for at least 45 minutes. Once dessert was finished, we sat for approximately 20 minutes with empty glasses and no service before flagging someone down for the bill. After receiving it, we waited an additional 10 minutes before finally flagging the host to assist with payment. Considering there were only a handful of tables seated during our visit, the overall inattentiveness and long wait times were particularly disappointing. I do not recommend this place at all.
