Bixby Joe Coffee & Tea

I've been a dedicated patron of this place for about 2 and a half years now! It's been the only place I get my coffee from, and I can count on the staff here to deliver an amazing breakfast when I need it. The environment is very warm and friendly, and there are many seating options, both indoor and outdoor. I think a huge part of what makes this place special is the staff. They are genuinely wonderful people and very personable if you get a chance to chat with them. And on top of that, they are incredibly skilled and diligent, and you can see it the first time you walk in here. Thanks to the Bixby Joe team for keeping things exceptional!

I was passing by and this place had vegan options. I pulled in to get a coffee and lunch. I ordered a vegan wrap and it was delicious! The veggies were fresh and crisp! The cold brew coffee was excellent as well! They have more vegan options to try so when I'm in the area I look forward to dining again.

I love give 5s! The protein wrap and sauce are YUMMY!! Been here a couple time. Both experiences went well. Each time I was overwhelmed with all the choices and both time they asked ‘do u need a little more time?’ ME: YEEEES!! So many pastries yall! Had 3 meetings here. Stayed most of afternoon. No issues. Met some awesome veterans. Invited them to my Veterans Day comedy show (Cannavetlive). It was cool hearing all the military jargon and mementoes told as they met up with peers for a ‘cup of Joe!’ I usually have pictures but been super busy. Oh and they give nice amounts of cream cheese on bagels 😉

Dark chocolate mocha was amazingly good, glad I tried this place and will definitely be back.

I really love how kind the cashier was and felt really great place to have in a community. The Avocado Toast was fantastic with my smoothie. For my next visit I will need to try the coffee ☕

I visit Bixby Joe Coffee & Tea every time I come to Long Beach. Guaranteed to make you feel warm and welcome with a cosy environment and pleasant staff. Dine in or pick up, the food and drink is consistently great with an impressive attention to detail given how relatively quick orders come out. 10/10, highly recommend.

The bacon avocado toast was the best I've ever had and I try them all! It's huge and full of fun extras! The bacon was perfectly cooked and plenty of it. To top it all the service and lattes were just as top notch! I'll be back!

I just had their Croissant 🥐 with Bacon eggs and cheese with Hot Mocha. The croissant was the bomb with the crispy bacon 🥓. Chef’s kiss!

I had a lot of questions about what types of teas they had and the ingredients of the meals, and every one of my questions was answered with knowledgeable, polite, and friendly attitude. I had the turkey panini. The ingredients were fresh, I'd say it's more of a turkey toasted sandwich because they pile the meat on it with a generous portion. There's fruit and chips bags you can get as a side for extra that would pair nicely with it. I also had an iced oolong tea, which was a delicious quality loose leaf. And I had a blended mocha coffee drink (like a frappe). I definitely will be coming back for a casual tasty lunch.

I’ve started a journey to find good coffee shops in the city and this place is ruining my journey because I don’t wanna try new places and I just keep wanna keep trying what they’ve got here! Had an iced mocha the first time and I got one again this last time but I tried a chocolate muffin as well today. This muffin is soooo freaking good! I bake and people often ask me what the difference is between a cupcake and a muffin and THIS is the difference! The texture is exactly what I look for in a muffin. Not like an unfrosted cupcake like most places. It’s pretty big too! Taking half of it home. The coffee was already really good and even with oatmilk it’s creamy and the way it comes wasn’t too sweet for me but it seems very easy to adjust if needed too. Highly recommend at least for cold drinks and muffins. Can’t wait to try the hot drinks once it gets a bit colder out! Edit: I’ve come back the other day for the muffin and to try a brown sugar latte but unfortunately I came too late in the day and all the chocolate ones had sold out! No worries though I got my latte which was phenomenal btw and then I tried something that looked like a muffin but it was cinnamon and dough kinda swirled and topped with what I’m assuming was cinnamon sugar if not then just regular sugar. Either way it was also very good! I stopped for coffee today as well and I got my muffin this time and I also needed breakfast so I tried an everything bagel with cream cheese. The bagel is also going on a list of my favorites. Next thing I wanna try is some sandwiches. I think I’m gonna stick with place for a while I can’t imagine that I would find a place I like more, this close to home. The grilled chicken panini is delicious!

This place is fantastic. Very friendly atmosphere, great music, it’s a local staple. What I really appreciate about Bixby Joe is the many vegan options they offer on the menu. The matcha is really good. They have some fantastic bagels and you can get them with vegan cream cheese! Also they just added vegan butter! Hummus, avocado, veggie sandwich on squaw bread, vegan milks and smoothies. Amazing menu and quality every time I’ve been here which is over a dozen. Thank you Bixby Joe for being so amazing!

OMG! This little nook in the corner is amazing! A 10-minute walk if it's nice outside or a 5-minute drive. Either way, you will not be disappointed...The food is fresh and delicious. I had a Honey, Ginger, and Pineapple smoothie as well. DELICIOUS!

The only downside is the wait time for food and drinks but that’s because they typically get really busy, however it’s worth the wait. Also it’s a great place to get work done or study and their wifi works pretty well.

The toast are pretty good. Service is always friendly but kind of slow. I've had their coffee multiple times but it's always lacking something.

Great lil spot for a sit down with your computer and having things to do electronically. Coffee is great tasting & the staff is uber friendly. The only “concern” I would offer, is that the music can tend to be a lil overpowering sometimes but the playlist is usually just right.

Update: last few times I’ve had to wait for almost 20 min for my food. Removing a star in the hopes that I can add it back once they are able to staff up!

I was looking for a great breakfast spot with a solid coffee and this spot was great. I ordered their bacon egg and cheese croissant and a latte with almond milk. The sandwich was good and about above average and the latte was descent, overall it was a good breakfast to get the day started. I’d definitely try their other menu items in the future.

A lot of potential here, just currently a few shortcomings. No mugs or glasses for dine in, its plastic or paper cups lined with plastic or nothing. Most food is packaged in plastic, with thin plastic wrap and plastic containers. Food is decent and the shop has solid wifi. Seats are pretty comfortable. Tables are at a good height.

Been coming here for over three years, food and coffee are pretty good but after my last 2-3 trips here I did not appreciate the service. Also the way they nickel and dime you here is a turn off, prices here are already a bit much on some items (some items are fair but others are not) and there’s an advertised matcha mushroom drink that says “plant based” on it, but is made with whole milk and they want to up charge you to change to plant based milk, false advertisement? Trust me when I say I know the customer isn't always right, but the customer should not be talked to in a rude, condescending way when an issue with an order is brought up. Telling a customer you repeated the order several times over the phone is a great way to replace the blame (of which I corrected her twice and on the third time I swore we were saying the same thing and agreed on the order). But that's just me, I would still recommend this place to others, just don't expect them to go above and beyond with their service or admit they made a mistake, they'll blame you and then say they'll take back their food and refund you AFTER you go back and forth several times and get made to feel bad. In all my years that I was in the restaurant business I never spoke to customers the way they are allowed to speak to customers here. I usually never feel the need to get upset but this time I decided to return the rudeness and decline the refund since she made me feel bad saying “you can give me back the food and then I’ll refund you”. Coffee was subpar and overly sweet even after asking for half-sweet. Food was good but $13 for bacon avocado toast is not worth it. The restaurant was pretty dirty and the glass front doors looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in weeks.

Customer service completely caught slipping I’m getting over a cold And not a single call was answered let alone went through Do better I spend too much money at this establishment to not be able to call in

My cousins and I always go there, a friend of ours used to be friends with Emily and she would always give her free drinks, once she found out Jesse was too nice to her the free drinks stopped. The owner sue I believe is her name seems like she’s very professional in business she should hire decent people with good customer service, not young people that love drama and take everything personal.

I wish I liked this place but can't force yourself to like something that isn't great. I ordered a bagel sandwich and waited over 30 minutes. I only had the courage to ask if my bagel was being made after I saw people who ordered after me get their bagels. It turned out, they forgot about my order. I would've given them the benefit of the doubt if it was busy but no, there was no line and it was nice seeing that the workers were talking to people but I felt rejected and cast aside like nothing. I would not recommend going to this place unless you like waiting and feeling like a cast away. Sorry but Starbucks would never treat me the way they treated me. Even when I spoke to the manager, they didn't offer me anything to make up for the long wait time and the fact they forgot about my order.
