Not enough of these indoor greasy-spoon diners left. I loved it. They make a delicious grilled chicken pita which you can get with a salad instead of fries for a healthy selection. Love the self serve coffee. ☕️

The best of the best no matter whether you order a Mexican food plate or go full Diner style you will be happy and satisfied. My go-to is their 2 Chili Relleno plate with rice n beans and a choice of side salad or soup. For 13 bucks ! It is so yummy and fat plate of food last you two meals. They also have chips and salsa FREE!

Of all the Fantastic Cafe in the chain, this is the best one. Just like the others, the food is fresh and the employees are very warm. It's usually a small wait at lunch time but it clears up quickly. Plenty of free parking great food and an all-you-can-drink fountain. See you there soon.

I tried the greek salad with grilled chicken. This fantastic cafe includes green and yellow peppers in addition to the olives abd tomatoes. It was delicious. The olives had pits, is that pitted? I think little dangerous. I always carefully bite any olive till i am sure.

Stopped by on the way to an appointment. I got a breakfast sandwich with bacon. Oh my it was stop good. Really enjoyed it. Got my toddler the kid's breakfast pancake with bacon and eggs. He loved the pancake because it was micey mouse shaped. The orange juice. I'm pretty sure they make it in house. Tasted ike she squeezed some oranges straight into my cup. So delicious!

I have been going here since I was a kid. Great food and great service. The only thing I dislike is they recently changed from easy jazz playing on the speakers to Christian rock. It really changes the vibe in the restaurant and is a bit oppressive to people of other faiths.

Truly enjoyed this place they were happy to customize my food restrictions..the portion sizes were enough for 2 meals. I had chorizo and egg with salad. 3 of us got food and the bill was less than $20. Friendly and very clean tables floors and bathroom walls and floors were scrubbed and fresh smelling.

I have had semesters of times trying all the soups sandwich combos and today the best fried chicken tender ( perfection delicious and big!) they treat me like family I totally love the staff. It’s kept sparkling clean, they welcome us every visit! I have been a regular since two years ago when I discovered it. Talk to the people in line - they’ve been coming for years. Get a breakfast burrito hash brown scrambled eggs and just enough sauce (full meal is enough to share for 2 we discovered ) or have a lunch soup and salad. Anything new to you will become a favorite!!

I've been dining here for over 20 years now. The place is more or less the same. Self-serve sodas, free chips and great salsa. Food brought to tables during breakfast and dinner hours Christian radio station played low throughout. Lots of parking, fast service. Clean. Lots of windows, open banquet style room, with booths around the sides and tables in the middle and 3 big corner booths. Food is done great, I would recommend breakfast lunch and dinner, all at fair prices for harty portions. 2 Large private ADA compliant restrooms well maintained. Menu has just about everything you would expect from a diner and then some.

Had some breakfast to take out at 7 am and they also served what’s for lunch in the morning. Very convenient if I can’t pick up any lunch I can just buy it at the same time as my breakfast. Love their ONION RINGS AND FRIES so fresh! And a very clean place!!!!

Bring your family and order The Trio as your side order to you burger and sandwiches. It's Fries Zucchini, Onion Rings and Fried Mushroom. Amazing. So fresh and the order easily feeds 4 to 6 people. Cheeseburger was good and fresh. Portions are huge.

The food and service were good. It's very Christian and pro-USA oriented but not overtly Trumpie from what I could tell. Even though my spirituality is not Christian, I did not feel uncomfortable.

We stopped here just by coincidence.Because I needed to use the restroom, and we decided to get a plate of chicken and waffles, but we opted for the chicken strips.They were real chicken breast, thinly breaded, so crispy and so flavorful.The chicken wasn't dry, so it was pretty good.But the best part was the crispy waffles.They worked in and extra crispy.Just like we ordered, the syrup was good.Everything was great.I would highly recommend this place for chicken and waffles, and it was half the price of the competition. I really enjoyed that they played pushing music and then they had it very clean.Everything was nice and clean and organized, so that was also nice.They offered a variety of condiments which I liked as well.

BREAKFAST BURRITOS! I drive about 30 miles to commute to work and have had every breakfast burrito from just about every breakfast establishment along the way. After many years I have settled on this place as my official breakfast burrito stop before work. It's simply the best. The scrambled eggs are cooked in a sheet and wrapped around the contents of the burrito as the tortilla is expertly sealed. It's wrapped so well that I can unroll it, add whatever I want, and re-wrap without losing any structural integrity. Every burrito I've ordered from here has been a pure delight. Honestly, I've only ever ordered the breakfast burrito, but everything I see coming off the counter looks pretty great. If you like diner/cafe grub, this is your place.

But the main reason we eat here is the owner promotes the Lord. There is Godly music and the spirit of the Lord is filling this restaurant. Come get a meal and be bless by the Lord 🙏. So I had a rough day, needed a cheeseburger and it was just the right amount of greasy and lettuce I needed. The patty was charred just right. My husband also felt the same way about his burger. I also liked that they grilled onions somewhat. The fries and seasoning just right. Also servers/cooks were really nice. The gentleman that cleans the tables was so polite. The place was clean, usually not a fan of diners with carpet, but it was clean.

Wow this place is great! Super fast service, lots of seating (not during quarantine though). This food has big portions and very cheap. Call ahead or order in house (calling works better). Lots of parking so head on down. The menu is huge and has lots of choices too

Nice "hole-in-the-wall" place, good food (though the salsa could have been spicier), and popular. When we visited we hit there right before the late breakfast rush. By the time we got our food, the line of people was out the door...

I was eating with my dad and brother in this restaurant, I was eating a Cheeseburger with large fries, and then I saw my PE teacher with HIS DAUGHTER, he look at me and I was so embarrassed because he told me and his students to eat healthy and I was eating something NO healthy 😅 (The restaurant is so GOOD btw)

The food was excellent and the place was really clean. I would hav gave them a 5 star but they took kind along to make my food🤔... However I'm willing to give them a second chance, I just think my timing was a little off, because they were cooking a whole lot of chicken on the grill.

A bit pricey but food is tasty for the most part. The asada burrito had lots of chewy fatty pieces of meat. The pancakes are really good. The iced coffee is delicious. Some of the staff is super friendly and welcoming and others have been a bit rude and dismissive.

Fantastic Cafe really does live up to the “fantastic” in its name. Their hamburgers are absolutely delicious and have a rich taste. When I was younger, my nana would me out with my grandfather to eat there. I would always get the cheese sandwich since I was a picky kid. Though the only thing they should improve is their fish and chips, they were mediocre. Other than that, great service and fantastic food!

Not a bad place for American and Mexican food, although I have not had any of their Mexican options. Their burgers are pretty good and they give you a lot of food. I go there mainly in the mornings because they gave good breakfast specials. They have different dinner and lunch specials depending on the day. They have free chips and salsa all day long! I only gave them 4 stars because if you're not ordering a special it can be a bit pricey. It a good place to try other than that!

This is a typical burger joint, but the food is good and the menu has many selections, Mexican food too. we go here from time to time for lunch since it close to work and the food is good.. You do need to stand in line to order your food & pay, then poor your drink and then find a table to sit at.. Sometimes they bring the food to you and sometimes u need to get it from the counter.. Good selection of condiments.. Good lunch stop if u want to sit at a table, but not greate for Girl Friends or dates unless she is really simple or cheap.. 😄

After so many years knowing Fantastic Cafe was here, I never tried them until about a month ago. I have been back 3 times since. If you are looking for some good charbroiled type food, I highly recommend this. My go-back for two times now is the nachos. They are HUGE and delicious.

This Cafe is a good place to stop in and grab a quick bite on your way to the nearby golf course. Their breakfast burritos are pretty tasty and their BLTs are top-notch. You can get busy and it can take a while but you can have as much coffee as you'd like while you wait

Great burger joint. They offer a homemade soup selection with a different soup every day. The restaurant is always "clean".....incuding the bathroooms. The service is above average, and the food is at or slightly above average. I like the daily soup, but some are better than others. Their clam chowder is above average. They offer fresh chips and homemade salsa on request. They are definitely a "locals" establishment. It's definitely a solid joint. They are not always busy, so I hope they survive this NEW economy.

For the pastrami dinner fries were excellent onion rings superb but the pastrami itself was dry nothing special. And I did forget the green salad was decent but it's a salad kind of hard to go wrong but the pickles I had on the side or over the top they almost tasted homemade as fresh as can be. Overall it's a decent place I definitely will go back even though I wasn't satisfied with the pastrami some of the other items that I saw while I was there looked decent enough to want to try

I had a t-bone steak and eggs, which were decent. However, the experience was hindered by my companions who could not stop complaining about the chicken strips which I learned had the recipe changed, and the pastrami burger which "needed work," and the fries which were varying degrees of cooked. If you are prepared for a diner experience, you will likely be fine. Don't go with anyone who is too picky.

This is a good place for comfort food. Prices are reasonable and portions are generous. You order at the counter and sometimes they bring the food to your table, other times you have to pick it up when they call your number. Do not appreciate the frequent noise of the vacuum cleaner or the rumbling from the slamming of weights at the fitness center next door.

Pretty good but the heavy set waiter ruins it. The larger heavy set guy is so rude and has a bad attitude. Everytime we come in he gives this off putting energy. Why work here if you're miserable? The rest of the crew is nice and attentive.

Went in for some breakfast when it came out it was a bit cold. It could have been better but overall it was good. Service was okay register lady seems a little mean but nice at the same time if you can understand that. I would try them again but not for breakfast.

Barely okay breakfast (eggs were NOT over medium as I ordered.. some cooks don't know how to do this). Hashbrowns were very dry and obviously pre-cooked and had sat on grill for awhile (I wouldn't serve them).. I was expecting much more because of the restaurant's name. The Manager Juan was friendly and helpful. Employees not attentive, smiling or friendly until I talked with one server and she then talked and smiled. I talked with a nice couple near me; they love this restaurant and visit regularly with their two large beautiful dogs.. Maybe I just got in wrong time on this day but my breakfast was not fantastic in any way. Hate to give only 3 Stars but it is what it is.

Time to take the religious and signs off the wall. Had I seen these before ordering I wouldn’t have gone anywhere near this highly overpriced place. Food was overly salty and diet coke was flat and syrupy.

The family and I went there one evening after an event at the school. The food was fantastic. I got the pastrami sandwich, my granddaughter got a cheeseburger, my grandson got chicken strips and fries, and three other people tried various items. The pastrami was tender and the were a hit with everyone.Everyone enjoyed their meals. It was worth the $100 plus bill. We went back this weekend, and the food was not good. The pastrami was tough, the chicken was overcooked and dry. We were very disappointed since we had a great experience the first time. I don’t live in Long Beach so I’m not sure if we’ll drive there again if the food is not consistent.

We had gone to this location for years but it seems to have new owners a chain. We were given the complementary chips and salsa. The salsa was very good. It is spicy beware. We ordered a wet burrito and a fried chicken dinner my husband and I loved the chicken soup the onion rings he loved his burrito but unfortunately my chicken was way over cooked greasy dry.

I used to love coming here when the chicken tenders were actually good. More than a year ago their recipe or a new cook decided to make some really bad chicken tenders. The fantastic cafe in Huntington beach still has the old chicken tenders which taste amazing but sadly this location has the dryest unastheticly pleasing chicken tenders I have ever seen. I came here today trying to give them another chance but they failed me again. The only reason its not a 1 out of 5 is because of the fond memories I had coming here as a kid and the very nice staff they have.

Walked in and felt like I was walking into a right wing hang out. The big sign of Jesus holding the American Flag right in the front window made me want to turn around right away. Then, of course, inside there was a man spouting of conspiracy theories as the staff listened. So uncomfortable. I didn't ask for a burger with a side of politics. Food was cold and easy to salty.

For years I have been a big fan of fantastic Burgers in Long Beach, the quality of the food was always good, my favorite PASTRAMI SANDWICH. THEY CHANGED, quality, quantity and prices. Total disappointment, I use to drive 20 miles just to go get them. NO MORE.

Start with good: clean, fast and salsa was spicy and good. Bad: the patty on the burger was tasteless, too many fries (is that a thing, but it was), and the tuna melt was cold and the cheese wasn't melted. Bad food definitely makes for a bad rating. That's kind of important for a restaurant.

The cook got mad, we ordered 2 tacos, he put the tortillas on the grill and we said we want crispy tacos, and finished my order of pastrami sand. He should have waited till we finished our order with the girl and just stuck to his job to wait for it. We got to the house and sadly they were the worst tacos, didn't even eat them, looked like they just dipped them in grease and didn't cook them right, as a chef I know how to cook and my 10yr old daughter makes better tacos and she's a Gringo. How sad I'll never go there or tell anybody else to go there again. Sad!

I have been eating at this location for at least 15 years. It seems to have new owners and the food has changed some. I had the chicken dinner which I have had for many years. I found the experiance to be very diffrent, the beans had very little tast, I love ed they used to have chips and salsa but now if you want the chips you have to wait to ask for them, if they are busy you wait a while. The atmosphere has changed, it is hard to enjoy your meal with the giant picture of Jesus christ bleeding from the crown around his head, as well as the giant sign above in florecent light that says lord Jesus. I don't mind if it is your choice. I don't like it shoved down my throat while eating dinner.

Update from last time I visited 1 Food is ok and edible not issues there I still think is a little over priced but understandable because the area is wealthy Atmosphere is great if you like listening Christian music and gospel all the breakfast time or dinner I meant I am a religious person but at same time I don't like to impose my tastes or likes to the rest of the world and that is what is happening here Service is not that good the waitress acted like if they are doing it a favor to you not to the point to be rude but the indifference and lack of attention to the customers and details are really a sour experience

I recently visited Fantastic Cafe and was unfortunately left quite disappointed. My burger was subpar, with meat that felt old and veggies lacking freshness and crunch. My meal even caused me some stomach discomfort shortly after. A friend who accompanied me ordered the club sandwich and found it to be extremely dry. Additionally, the customer service left much to be desired. The staff seemed to have an attitude when we simply requested basic utensils. The menu, on the other hand, is overwhelmingly extensive, making it a task to even decide on an order. While the cafe's name suggests otherwise, the atmosphere is more reminiscent of a basic diner. However, on a positive note, they offer ample parking which is a convenience. But overall, I hoped for a better experience at Fantastic Cafe.

The food was mostly ok, though the carnitas were not good. The pancakes were standard. I really disliked the smell of this place and it's very Jesus-heavy, both in music and decor. Parts of our meal didn't come out together and my dad had to wait a long time to be able to eat. Overall, I probably won't return.

I ordered a Carne Asada burrito. The meat was gross and chewy. cost 15$ and i couldn’t barely finish it. Really disappointed to say the least. and the service wasn’t amazing either

Place has went downhill over the years. Used to be a vibrant culture with employees who enjoyed their jobs and took pride in service, now it’s full of people who despise human interaction. From rude young men that work the register, to dry seasoning, it has all been downhill. Just recently had an employee cuss out my friend in the middle of the establishment for simply putting iced tea in the water cup. This is the same young man who was rude with no reasoning to all of our party while ordering. Please take pride in this establishment and make it what it once was.

Very rude staff and the food is mediocre at best. I had the worst patty melt ever at this place and top of that the cashier and cook seemed bothered that I interrupted their conversation to place my order. Food sucks, staff is horrible and it’s not cheap. Bad vibes all around.

Cashier was rude when I substituted green salsa instead of red in the breakfast burrito. Then turned around and talked to cooks in Spanish about me. When I recieved my order I asked for salsa on the side and same cashier said “really” and hesitate to hand me the side of salsa. I wish I could say this is one of one experience but my second visit the same reaction. Unprofessional staff.

Service is absolutely horrible, don’t know what’s going on with staff everytime I come here something is wrong. Waited 25 minutes for a basic egg sandwich (phone order) and still waiting on site for the entire duration???? Never again

Went to breakfast and ordered the biscuits and gravy. The gravy was possibly chicken gravy, yellow and very salty. I couldn’t even eat it. 6 tables in the dining area were dirty and no one was attempting to clear them. Two older ladies sat down at a dirty table and their food was served to them with the old plates in the center of the table. When the ladies gestured to the old plates the server seemed annoyed to be asked to remove them. We have been here before it was never this bad. Sad to see it going downhill.

We stopped to eat in the evening time the cashier at the counter was very rude he wasn’t friendly at all he just had an attitude. None of the other employees greeted us with a hello thank you or anything else. We had the pastrami sandwich chili cheese fries and zucchini. The chili cheese fries were good the pastrami was doing great until we found a foreign food item that didn’t belong and it just ruined things. The zucchini literally tasted like freezer burn but because the guy was so rude we were intimidated to go up and complain about our food also we spent $30 on our food and that wasn’t including a drink you would think that there would be a clean table for us to sit at each table was cleared but it wasn’t wiped down. We were completely disappointed.

This place is terrible. They always get orders wrong and are extremely ride when you ask simple questions. "Do you have a BBQ cheeseburger? "No" walks away "Can a have a bacon cheeseburger combo?" Silence "Here's your order" Get home home and nothing on my burger. This is the 3rd time it's happened in a year. I've only been there 3 times. This is the worst Fantastic Cafe I’ve ever been to! I’ve been going to the Fantastic Cafe restaurants in San Pedro since they first opened in the 80’s. I bought a combo burger for myself and my daughter a Jr cheese burger. It was $21 for 2 small burgers. We waited for someone to take our order and learned you have to stand on one side of the left side counter to be helped. Pedro once again is better than others. This really sucks!

CHECK PRICES IN YOUR RECEIPT AND MENU!!! They are liars and thieves! I saw the tag with waffle deal at the cashiers register for $4.05 Anytime (see pics). When I paid and checked my receipt I saw I was chargerd $5.05. I asked why if the tag clearly says “Anytime $4.05”? The lady tried to remove the tag, but I was faster and made a pic of it. I called for the manager and asked why they do that? He said “Anytime 4.05” is not a price, but name of the freeway. Really? I asked him where is it freeway 4.05 (four point zero five). He was insisting it is a name of the freeway. And interesting that price in my receipt looks very familiar 5.05, isn’t it? He couldn’t explain why there is also word ANYTIME in front of 4.05. When I became very angry he admitted, that it was a price 4.05 before, but they raised it to 5.05 and I’m not the only one who complained about it. So the manager lied to me from the very beginning trying to fool me. Ok. And? Why the tag with wrong price was still there? I came 1 month later and that tag is still on the counter misleading customers. So they are literally thieves and they know it. Stealing from each customer at least $1 every day many many many times a day.
