Opinions de Dutch Kills Long Island City
Dutch Kills is something special. The moment you walk in, you feel transported!! The atmosphere is intimate, moody and effortlessly cool. The cocktails are incredibly well-crafted and balanced. Honestly, just tell the bartender what you like and let them take it from there. They’ll create something amazing for you. A true hidden gem for cocktail lovers. 🍸✨
Stopped by with coworkers after a dinner. A bit of a wait to get seats at the bar, but well worth it. Bartenders were fun. Cocktails are cold and delicious and the booze selection is serious.
We were recommended by Aloft to visit this place and I must say it didn't disappoint at all. Drinks were on point. Service was amazing.
Really loved the bear trap drink!! Celebrated new year (2026) here. The custom made drink wasn’t exactly what I was looking for sadly, but I really loved everything else - the bear trap drink (I repeat), the free champagne at midnight, the friendly people I was chatting with, and the professional, serious-looking bartender with cool tattoos. Restroom was cleanish. Ambience was moody. Overall I really enjoyed this place and would like to come back again sometime
One of the absolute best cocktail bars in the LIC area. They have a great selection of cocktail choices and even offer a bartenders choice option if you’re looking for something off menu. They have lots of space at the bar, in some booths for bigger parties, and also an upstairs area. Would highly recommend if you’re in the area.
I visited Dutch Kills for some evening cocktails during my trip to NY and had a great experience! The low light atmosphere this place gives off great vibes with a full bar to make pretty much any cocktail you could ask for. Dutch Kills makes a mean Old Fashioned that went down so easy. If I ever find myself back in this part of the city for travel, I’d definitely be back!
I stopped by this bar after having dinner nearby, and OMG, it was the best decision! I ordered a Moscow Mule, and honestly, it was the best I’ve ever had in my life. The vibe of the place was amazing, perfect for enjoying a great drink. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!
A speakeasy style bar, but not in the sense it’s hidden. The main bar is at the back, with a front seating area. Food wise, they do have mixed nuts and jerky, but that’s all. Great place to go after a hearty meal nearby. The menu of cocktails is quite extensive and of the 8 drinks we had, they were all very well made and delicious. I personally liked the Old Barrel the most, it was booze forward - in a good way. The bartenders definitely know their stuff and make great drinks. Special shout-out for using clear ice as well.
I went to Dutch Kills for the first time with a group of girl friends and really enjoyed our time. The staff is very friendly and attentive and mindful of allergies. They have some fun, beautiful cocktails but be warned - they're strong! We had 1-2 drinks each and that was a good amount for us. We didn't end up getting any food so I can't comment on that. We were easily able to get booth seating on a weekday night as it wasn't too packed but the bar area seemed pretty crowded. The restaurant is dark and moody and I really enjoyed the private atmosphere of the place. Definitely a top date night spot in LIC!
Dark, mysterious, very NYC after hours bar. They have good cocktails and play good music yet the booths are great to chat. Not a lot of places like this left in ultra modern area of LIC.
Many cocktail options and nice atmosphere for date night. The only thing I didn’t understand was the table seating system. We were told to get a ticket with number and the number will appear above the bar when the table is available. I saw multiple tables being open up but none of the number was light up on the board.
Crowded but the cocktails are delish. Fridays are busy but my friend was able to sneak us into the back of the bar. Cool experience with vintage decor and a jukebox that plays throughout the bar. This place is known to use ice that is purposefully cut into deliberate shapes to enhance the flavors of their cocktails. That being said, the cocktails were great! Great place to visit if you’re in the LIC.
drinks were ok. went for happy hour then told friday they don’t have happy hour which is odd. paid $46 with tip for two drinks. If they are making that kind of money they should be able to fix issues with the toilet seat in the men’s bathroom that they are “working on” overall ok experience in my opinion, jora does a great happy hour. Edit*- My opinion buddy. It seems as if you are the one who is hurt, petty and expressing your, (how did you put it) “precious” feelings. I am merely stating my experience and that there are many bars in the area with better drinks and that this place is overhyped in my opinion. I chose from the menu and pointed to the $15 happy hour cocktail drink and was only told it was more when the bill came. I believe it could be clearer concerning which days are happy hour and which are not. I was given a shot that I did not want but took with the bartender to be polite, I did not need/want more liquor/spirits. Clearly you lack grace and the understanding that this platform is here for people to express critique and rate their experience, as i have done.
Incredibly rude waiter and bouncer. We sat down by the booth, and we were being hounded to order drinks ASAP. The waiter wouldn't talk to us properly, and tried to get an order from us before we even got the menu. After we asked what he recommended, he just threw the menu at us. The bouncer turned into an alarm clock in the last hour of the bar. She reminded us every 5 minutes near the end to finish our drinks, and even checked our drinks with a flashlight to make sure we kept at pace. The bartender was nice, but the rest of the atmosphere suggested they really didn't want us to be there.
Bartenders are very nice , atmosphere good. But $18 for a drink!!! Ginn and tonic and margarita .. they were OK but these prices are obscene! I know it's NYC I've lived here my whole life .... but this is still Queens !!! Do you you guys sprinkle pixie dust on the drinks? A these prices I should get partial ownership! Stay away!
Cocktail was ok but nothing special. For the price, I was disappointed, but I would have been fine with it if it cost ~$12-14. The lighting was moody and good for a date night type vibe. The place was mostly empty but the few people who were there were having extremely pretentious conversations. Did not seem to be filled with good clientele (which I think comes from the fact that the cocktails are overpriced and the bar is in LIC near all the corporate offices). Was going to give a 3/5 stars but after looking at the way the owners responded to past criticism, I think the bar doesn’t deserve it. Before looking at the owners Google Maps behavior, I would have considered coming back if a friend had arranged for a meet here or if I wanted to take the “investment banker who cant afford to live in manhattan yet” type on a date. Now I actively won’t go here and will discourage others from going here as well.
My friends and I ordered forta leza tequila. What we received as not forta leza. All of us a hard core fans of it and we know for a fact it was a different tequila. Told the bartender and he told us he poured it out the bottle and the batches can be different. He offered to give us something else. You can’t fool us when it comes to cheap stuff with additives. You could taste the vanilla additive immediately. Didn’t want to get into an argument so we finished that glass of garbage and left after. The jerky was pretty good. I’d avoid this bar otherwise.
Updating from 2 stars to 1 because of thjs business’ response to my fair and honest review. I don’t need to say any more about how poorly they treat patrons - read for yourself. Literally bullying me calling me sloppy? Get a life Original review: I’m trying to be fair by not giving 0 stars but let me just say I’m not the only one who didn’t like the vibe here. Someone else wrote a reviews about how they were treated and you can tell a lot about a business about how they respond TL;DR they are super controlling about who enters where you stand and wait for a host and where you can sit. They protect their tables at all costs and won’t let you sit. The vibes are off. I found them pretentious and rude 2 floors - downstairs and upstairs Bottom floor bar Top floor lounge - when they say live music if means a DJ not live musicians fyi Small food menu - they were out of veg hot dogs and they have grilled cheese smash burger and hot dogs. Don’t order food upstairs. It’s awkward seating esp at the bar and you can’t get close to your food so it’s uncomfortable trying to eat. The smash burger was greasy and soggy and the bread fell apart. Asked for utensils and they said they don’t have any. How do you serve food and not have forks? To be fair they have a lot of drink options but it’s not worth it to me cuz it’s not an enjoyable place. I think they do business cuz there is nothing else in that hood open late
Drinks were extremely overpriced — over $25 each — and they don’t offer any food. The service was one of the worst I’ve experienced. As a woman of color, I felt disrespected and poorly treated by both the bartenders and the security staff. The way they spoke and behaved made me feel unwelcome and singled out. I would never return. If you care about respectful service, inclusivity, and basic human dignity, I strongly suggest choosing another place!!
