Opinions de Pig Beach BBQ Long Island City
Cool random vacation type feel bbq spot in Astoria, Queens of all places. Walking distance to the Museum of the Moving Image. Giant space. Pleasant staff. Full bar. We had brisket cheesesteaks, wings and fries and all were 10/10. Can’t wait to go back.
Popped in twice today: once to kill time before a tour up the street, second to grab dinner for the drive home. The hot cocktail I had during the first stop-in was very good. Happy to see some nice selection (unsure how this compares to other NYC choices, but it was nice compared to back home for me). The baked beans were killer, as well as the brisket. Super loud in there at dinner time, which led to us doing takeout vs eat-in.
Loved it. There’s something for everyone here, as I enjoyed the pulled pork and brisket while the person I was with enjoyed the turkey and ribs. They have a variety of sauces to choose from, and the combo platters actually allow you to try a variety. Lots of space indoors and didn’t feel too crowded, so I’ll definitely be back here!
I had my wife’s birthday party here and Pig Beach always goes above any beyond. The food was delicious and the staff was just as a good. Even the chef Stephen made a stop by our table! I was starstruck! I wanted to give a special shoutout to a man also named Steven who was very helpful to the overall experience. 10/10 a perfect experience.
The sampler platter is a must if its your first time. Little bit of everything and all the meats were cooked to perfection, you can taste the smoked flavor as if it was cooked in wood fire and the meat was very tender. 1/4 brisket 1/4 pulled pork 1/4 ribs 1/4 turkey 2 sides were delicious, Mac and cheese Collard greens Unsweetened ice tea was good too, free refills!😀
The brisket was fabulous. The brisket, pickles and bbq sauce in one bite was so good. Pastrami and ribs weren’t the greatest, but they were fine. The mustard served with the pastrami was really tasty. The only issue was it was NFL Sunday 1pm games and the line at the bar was very long. So we had to go elsewhere for drinks.
If you’re a BBQ lover, Brisket King at Pig Beach in Queens is an absolute must! This event is a meat lover’s dream — dozens of chefs, pitmasters, and restaurants serving up their best brisket creations all in one place. From smoky classics to creative bites with global twists, there wasn’t a dull plate in the bunch. Pig Beach was the perfect venue — spacious, fun, and easy to get to. The vibes were chill but lively, with great music, good drinks, and an excited crowd that clearly came hungry. The lines moved pretty smoothly, and everyone from the staff to the vendors was friendly and hyped about their food (as they should be!). Favorites of the night? I had a few bites I’m still thinking about — melt-in-your-mouth brisket, spicy sauces, a few fusion dishes I didn’t expect, and even some killer sides like smoked mac and cheese and pickled veggies that balanced everything out. Whether you’re a brisket connoisseur or just want a fun food event with friends, Brisket King delivers the goods. Already planning to come back next year!
Very good BBQ IN Queens, hopping joint serving BBQ cafeteria style in a warehouse and it works. Ribs had a nice smoke, very tender and flavorful. Very good brisket sandwich, Solid potato salad, purple slaw was devoured ,cornbread was moist and tasty, the fries with the sweet and spicy onions were excellent, but you can pass on the baked beans. The standout dish for me was the the Yankee red hot sausage with cherry pepper relish
Pig Beach is a fantastic spot! The space is incredibly spacious and boasts a really cool aesthetic. We arrived right around 5 pm, at opening, and practically had the entire place to ourselves—though it definitely filled up quickly after. We indulged in their beef brisket, wings, mac and cheese, fries, and cornbread, all of which were delicious. They also have a full bar for those wanting a drink. Clean bathrooms and a generally well-equipped space made for a great experience. Highly recommend!
Really good bbq joint and definitely the best in Queens. 9.5/10 - Their brisket was by far the best thing on the menu. Had a great black crusting. 9/10 - Ribs, not as much flavour as you can get but the sauce & meat falling off the bone was on point 9.5/10 - Easily the best smoked turkey breast I’ve had, not dry at all 8/10 - Pulled Pork, a little too dry for a higher rating 8/10 - Chicken Burger, good fried chicken but the bun was disappointingly lazy 7.5/10 - Cornbread, a little forgettable, needs some drizzled flavour 6/10 - Sausage wasn’t great at all, small, dry and the oozing sauce was unnecessary
I love this space. It’s been a few different large sports bars over the years. This may be my favorite. Very decent BBQ. Sure the brisket was a bit dry for me and I tasted something that I didn’t like in their blue cheese dressing. But the collard greens and ribs were terrific. And my kid ate her Mac n cheese. Some decent beers to choose from. Great place to watch NFL games with a group. Or by yourself. Whatever you want. It’s very big in here is what I’m saying.
Food is better than average, but I gave it a 5 solely for the banana pudding. The pulled pork was delicious, the beans were meaty, and I liked the mustard bbq sauce. Wings with Alabama sauce go hard and the cocktails were great!
Chicken pull was very good but recommend to heat while hot. Turkey was decent not dry but could have used more of a smoke taste. The hot honey rub wings were ok I tasted more hot than honey. Atmosphere was good, staff was extremely friendly and addressed me as soon as I walked up and offered suggestions. On Saturday's wings are $1. Happy hour Tues-Fri. BBQ sauce is available for self pour. I didn't have any drinks from the bar which was spacious with a huge TV in the middle of the restaurant. I would def recommend.
Cool, spacious spot with a beer-garden vibe and live country music that makes it a fun place to chill. I got the brisket platter with cornbread, mac and cheese, and potato salad. The brisket was tender with nice fatty bites solid flavor, just could’ve used a bit more tenderness on the non-fatty parts. The mac was creamy and smooth (not baked-style), and the potato salad had good flavor but wasn’t my favorite. The real standout was the cornbread, buttery, moist, and held together perfectly. Easily the best part of the meal. Good prices (about $32 for my meal) and solid BBQ sauces to pair with the brisket. Great spot for BBQ, brisket, and live music
Rating: 7.5/10 Date Last Visited: 8/30/2025 I ordered the Brisket Cheesesteak ($16). The brisket cheesesteak was amazing - combining the brisket with cheese and caramelized onions is a unique taste on the classic cheesesteak. Combined with the bread, this was a great sandwich to eat. However, the BBQ itself was alright. My friend ordered the brisket and pork ribs, but neither one of those compared to BBQ joints in Texas. The mac-n-cheese was also pretty mid. I would recommend getting one of their sandwiches or other entrees here, not the actual BBQ. Outside of food, this place is amazing for watching sport games. They have a huge outdoor dining area with a large screen for watching games. There’s no better vibe than eating good food, drinking beer, and sitting outside in good weather watching football or basketball. Overall, I would recommend this place if you want to go somewhere to watch sports while also enjoying good food.
The BBQ ribs were fall-off-the-bone good. They make their own sauces. I tried all five, and the Tangy Vinegar is my favorite. The corn bread tasted like cake, and the Mac and Cheese tasted like it was made with processed cheese. The key lime pie was overpowered with sweetened condensed milk. There is a good bar scene, and the crowd was relatively young. Service was quick, and staff was friendly.
The space is expansive, with beach-style seating reminiscent of a beer garden, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. I opted for the sampler to get a taste of everything, and my favorites were definitely the brisket and the rack of ribs. The ribs were incredibly tender, fall-off-the-bone, and packed with flavor, while the brisket was cooked to perfection--not too fatty, just right. On the other hand, the smoked turkey was a bit too dry for my taste, and the pulled pork was just okay. The smoked wings, however, were pretty solid. One downside is the limited selection of beverages and alcohol. :(
I ordered some baby back ribs and cornbread. The ribs were tasty and moist, but the cornbread tasted like it was doctored up from a box. I ordered a pint of Gowanus Cold Beer from the bar, and it was lovely. For dessert, I had some key lime pie, which was a tad too sweet. I am glad that I asked for a sample of some Mac and Cheese. It tasted “store bought”, so I passed on buying that. I will be back to try other foods. Staff were raving to me about the smoked chicken wings and the fried chicken sandwich. I will order them next time.
The inside of the store is spacious, so it doesn't feel stuffy at all. The food wasn't expensive. Maybe that's why the quality of the food, which is the most important, was disappointing. Since it was prepared in advance, it was far from fresh. In particular, the coleslaw was inedible, and the ribs were so dry that it felt like chewing a tree piece. The pulled pork was the best. The beer was delicious.
