Well done "pan asian" food (mix of chinese, thai, japanese, singaporean and malaysian dishes). Pretty waterfront location and pleasant ambiance with plenty of natural light. Standouts included sweet chili sauce fish, lemongrass chicken and satay. I prefer my food spicier but everything here is flavourful and cooked well. They also have good sushi.

Sushi and sashimi were fresh and delicious, Presentation was nice, great service. Martin was our server and his food recommendations were on spot.

This was not planned out. We were just walking, and we heard music. we went inside to check it out, and we liked the atmosphere. The music was unbelievable, the DJ was amazing, no talking or nothing, just music one song after another from all the way from the 80s music. I mean, he played it all kind of music spanish, R&B, hip hop techno, freestyle you name it,he played it he was an amazing DJ, the place friendly with great drink and great music, a great location to hang out with friends and have a good time. The crowd was an amazing, friendly place. We didn't order food, just drinks. But it was an amazing place to just chill and have a good time dance away the stress.

We went to SHI for the first time last night and absolutely loved it. The place is cozy and beautiful inside, with an amazing view that makes the whole experience feel extra special. It was such a nice spot to enjoy dinner with my husband. We started with some appetizers, the miso soup was perfect since it was freezing outside, so warm and comforting. The crispy rice was a 1000/10, ✨ honestly so delicious. We also ordered a few rolls, which were really good, and for our main dish we had the Singapore noodles… I hadn’t had noodles that amazing in a long time. The staff was amazing, so kind and attentive, and to make the night even better, we were treated to dessert on the house, an incredible brownie with mochis that was the perfect way to end an amazing dinner. Overall, it was a wonderful experience with great food, great service, and a beautiful atmosphere. We definitely hope to be back soon.

Had my birthday event here this past Saturday, from booking the event to the day of I could not be more pleased with the level of service that I received. The menu was reasonably priced. The food was absolutely delicious. The service during dinner was so efficient pleasant and my friends and family really had a wonderful time. The vibe in the restaurant was phenomenal, the view was gorgeous and they even remembered to check-in with a friend for her dietary restrictions. I can't wait to be back!! This was one of the first restaurants I went to moving to NY and it is one of my favorites!!! They make an amazing Lychee martini with actually fresh Lychee!!! I always always alwayssssssss get the whole fish with the sweet chilli sauce and whewwwwww it’s sooooo good!!! Their bok choy is to die for!!! And we get their sushi roll and customize it!!!! The service was a bit lack luster, I felt like the waiter hated me a bit but it might have just been because there was 6 of us. I just expected more service and felt like there wasn’t much done for us. Especially it was a birthday celebration. But regardless, the food was great and I loved it.

To me this was insane because I thought the bill should have been $150. I tried something new this time & I woke up next morning craving more. This is an upscale, decently crowded restaurant right opposite to Manhattan views. We enjoyed our food - flavorful and packed with good spice. My starter was a huge size and had spicy tuna + layers of pastry dough which was a good heart eat. My main course was hearty and good sized too. Service was pretty decent and we enjoyed our dinner at Shi.

This place was excellent. Food was great, a vast variety of choices that were all top notch and tasted fresh. The Atmosphere was also great, the DJ was very impressive & played great music all night. The waitress was fast & efficient, and came at the right times to check up on our table. I personally would recommend the General Tsau, as the sweetness and crispiness was exceptional. As for dessert, I would have to go with the Creme brulee, the sweetness was just right and it wasn't very heavy at all. The only pet peeve I have is that parking is extremely scarce, consider taking an uber if you want to come here. But other than that minor issue, this place is a highly recommend.

Shi Restaurant is a great place to go with friends and family for any special occasion. The interior design is really nice. The prices are affordable and the service is great. If you go during the day you can always walk outside by the water and if you go during night time is even better because you can see the city lights. This is a really great place and the food is always on point. This place is perfect for a family gathering around 12:30PM when they open because you can get the biggest table without having to wait and it makes you feel like if it was a private party.

Nice venue, service was okay, not bad not good. Calamari was pretty good even though a friend ordered and I tried it. I got a sushi roll (pictured) called "the skinny". It very similar to a rainbow roll with a some roe on the inside. The fish and other seafood on top didn't have a fresh texture to it. Kinda like it had been sitting out for a little while. Inside the roll wasn't as thick as I've seen other places so the roll had the taste of being a little too "ricy" if that makes sense. I tasted too much rice and not enough of the filling for liking and what I'm used too. The lady ordered a drink that was green and had a cherry in it. Forgot the name but it was tasty and sweet. Great beverage for a light drinker I'd say and not a seasoned one or if you just want to try a cocktail. Prices not too bad here either. Pretty on particular with what u normally find in New York. Maybe slightly, ever so slightly higher. - Fred

I celebrated many occasions here since I live two blocks away. Always a good vibe nice looking place and the food was very solid. I went for an awesome Halloween party once and had a great time. The music wasn't necessarily my style but it was still lively and fun.

The food was good and prepared well, but not a destination place for me as I don’t live in the area. If I did live in the area then this could be a steady place to go. The inside atmosphere was amazing, but we really came for the view of Manhattan as I requested to sit by the big windows facing Manhattan for a sunset dinner. All we saw were stacks of tables and other debris outside the windows as if it was a storage area, which took away from the ambiance. There were lots of trees and leaves that blocked any view of Manhattan. The waiter suggested we come back during the fall/winter months when the trees are bare. I wish the website mentioned that.

Great cuisine and ambiance! This is a great Asian restaurant. Fresh raw fish for sushi and some great takes on classic Asian themed meals. I highly recommend this venue.

Honestly one of the better sushi spots I’ve been to; fresh fish, lots of options, and the rolls were great. The staff were attentive and a decent vibe for a night out.

Good food in LIC but not sure if it’s worth the price for what you get - nothing really stood out. The frozen martinis were delicious and next time around I’d probably want to stick with sushi. The interior is beautiful and has a nice vibe to it so it’s perfect for a date night or a happy hour with friends.

Good and drinks were really good. Tuna tartare was supposed to have avocado and it didn’t come with it for some reason? Although the waitress was nice & sweet she didn’t really listen well, we asked her for sushi to go and she completely forgot about it. Overall it was really nice place, amazing view. I don't know why this restaurant is listed as a restaurant with a view of Manhattan Skyline because it's located at the ground floor which doesn't give you any clear view of Manhattan. The food and cocktails were good. The server was better and he made sure we were taken care of as I took my girlfriend for her birthday celebrations here.

The food was great! The service was okay as there was a misunderstanding with the shots. Apparently there is a 4 count minimum and it can only be of one shot. Did not realize that and was not told correctly by the waiter. That rule is silly.

The food was good, the atmosphere was ok but them again we were there from 3:30-7pm and the service was outstanding.

I loved this waterfront Asian restaurant in Long Island City known for its stunning Manhattan skyline views. Food was really good and the prices were extremely reasonable. My only problem was our waitress came over to our table at least 15 times to ask if we were done, or we wanted to wrap anything. I could see if it was packed but there were so many empty tables around us. We got there at 9 and the large table next to us just got there shortly before we were leaving at 10:30. I probably would’ve gotten 1 more drink or even dessert but she frustrated me so much coming over to the table. We were only 2 people. And when she wasn’t coming over she was staring us down. Besides that I would go again for the food and ambiance.

As Canada was burning down, and the NYC air was more toxic than the average sludge I inhale, I decided to get sushi! The service was amazing and the food was great! I do feel it was a bit over priced but it’s a nice restaurant in a nice area right by the water and the park so you have to go into it knowing you’re paying for the vibe. Bathroom was pretty beat up but it works none the less. if you’re not easily impressed and have a complex then this may not satisfy you. If you want good food, you want to treat yourself to decent Asian food and then take a walk along the water before or afterwards then this is the spot!

Okay now the food was excellent, don’t get me wrong. Great atmosphere. However, please don’t claim “skyline views” which my partner and I were expecting, just to find when we got sat outdoors that there was a huge fence and bushes blocking it! Took off a star for that. Would come here again for the food, well made drinks, and ambiance and our server was funny and friendly just don’t expect to eat dinner with sights of Manhattan from outside.

Food is usually good but hit or miss - I’ve had great quality chirashi/ sashimi vs not-so-great quality too. Asian fusion food are good but some of the portions are way too small and not worth it. The atmosphere is nice for parties, going out, or date nights. There’s a live DJ on weekends but a bit too loud and clubby. Service is good but tends to be too pushy and made us feel uncomfortable. Still giving 4 stars over all since the atmosphere is nice, food is good and have been coming back often!

I’ve been to this Asian fusion restaurant many times and always enjoy the variety of dishes and lively nightlife. The food is generally very good, though I wasn’t a fan of the roll I had recently—it was just okay. The atmosphere is always great, especially on nights with good music and a fun crowd. The restaurant itself is large with plenty of seating, making it a great spot for groups. Service can be a bit slow at times, but the staff is always friendly. Despite the occasional miss, I keep coming back for the overall experience. If you’re looking for good vibes and a diverse menu, this place is worth checking out!

We came here on a Friday evening and promptly got seated. The hostess was courteous and waiter was okay. The food is a bit overpriced for me but I think it’s mostly due to the area and location of the restaurant. We sat outside but could tell that it’s a very nice Chinese restaurant. We ordered the beef skewer and lycee calamari which were pretty good. Would have appreciated more for the price. For entree we got the orange beef and seafood crispy noodles which were both pretty good. Overall I’d recommend it but if you’re expecting Chinatown or Flushing Chinese food at the same prices, this isn’t it. It’s definitely more upscale and the prices are higher but not ridiculous.

We were staying in manhattan and decided to venture to this highly rated place due partially for the food reviews but mostly for the view. If that’s what you are doing, stop right here. There is zero view of the skyline from here. Also, sushi, not the best but the Chinese food was amazing.

Food is great and service is good, but my biggest issue by far is that the indoor seating area had some cleanliness issues both times my girlfriend and I ate here. Both times we had issues with flies. The most recent time we visited, there was a big dead fly on my seat that I noticed right before I sat down (thankfully) and then some smaller gnats buzzing around as we ate. I think part of the problem is they keep their front door open throughout the day, so it’s super easy for bugs to just fly in. Highly recommend closing the doors and just getting a “we’re open!” sign for the outside. Also, some of the tables / chairs near us needed a cleaning as well.

Our server was genuinely kind and provided great service. However, the hostess left a very negative impression, she was extremely rude and unwelcoming. I’ve dined at many places and have never encountered such unpleasant behavior from front-of-house staff. It really took away from the overall experience.

Decor was cool. Staff is very friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. Food is very good and it has the best Calamari but I do wish the portions were bigger. I understand appetizers are generally small but I'm not ordering from the kids menu. The prices for entrees are a bit high vs other places but at least the portions for those are decent. I would recommend giving it a try

Food is pretty amateur. Food is probably better at the local Asian restaurant. I get the appeal, the ambiance and the location, but price and everything included. I would stay away. Food was overcooked or underdone. Chicken Satay and general tso was under crispy rice with spicy tuna super overdone and they could even get a drink right, tasted super funny. Nice service when they attend to you, but whole restaurant is empty and they still cant hear you. If food isn’t good, not worth it. Feel free to try for yourself. Was once good years ago, but never again. Felt like I wasted money.

You can definitely find a better place than this one. I don’t recommend appetizers like shrimp dumplings there is barely shrimp it’s all mashed and mixed inside with dumpling dough. Fried cauliflower it’s not fried it is a cauliflower with breadcrumbs doesn’t taste good. The sushi rolls crunchy spicy salmon, a little bit of salmon is mashed with something it’s not like an original sushi very small portion of 6 pieces. Chicken dumplings were quite good (4 pieces) but not the best. The only good dish was sesame chicken with rice. Although broccoli wasn’t cooked enough, cold and hard.

Location nice, ambiance nice, drinks strong, food mediocre!! Taste just like or less than my local Chinese restaurant!! But way more expensive!! I’ve been to other restaurants and had the same food but it doesn’t compare in flavor!! Don’t get me wrong the food was edible but it lacked in so much flavor!! Pretty disappointed. As an Asian who has done my fair share of hopping in similar Asian fusion restaurants, this place is clearly only good for their view, location, and ambiance. Presentation was great; execution, flavor, texture was very disappointing. Especially for the price of each dish. All the dishes had a squishy consistency like it wasn’t really meat. The chicken was squishy like tofu or fat, the pork chop was not firm. The only good dish we liked was the popcorn beef which you can get in Joe’s Shanghai or The Bao but compared to the aforementioned restaurants, the flavor here was a little more bland but the consistency was good.

My husband and I came here for our wedding anniversary dinner. We hated it. It's a whole club vibe. Food was a daster. I was very disappointed. We order appetizers and maincourse. We got our maincourse before the appetizers. Music is very loud. The staff Didn't know how to make a good mojoito. I would never come back here.

I went to SHI with a party of six to celebrate my friend’s birthday, and unfortunately, the experience was truly disappointing. From the start, the service felt intrusive. The waitstaff hovered uncomfortably close and kept reaching in to grab even the smallest things from our table, making it hard to relax and enjoy the moment. The food was another letdown—bland, overpriced, and far from what you’d expect at a restaurant of this caliber. Not a single dish stood out in a good way. Overall, it was not the celebration we hoped for. I won’t be returning.

Came into the restaurant to try out the food and atmosphere as a potential birthday location. We ordered vegetable soup, general tso, triple mushrooms, and the cheesecake. The soup was bland, the entree was okay, the kicker was the cheesecake had ants crawling all over, we told the waiter and she was very causal about it , she said she would take it off the bill which was a given but still charged us the full amount for the other items. I can only imagine the lack of cleanliness of the kitchen. Patrons beware.

The food was HORRIBLE, and so was the waitress Mama. We had a party of 10, and from the moment she approached the table, she was very short with us. She would ask a question and walk away to the bext person before you finished. Every person at the table had to call her back at least twice because she would walk away. She would only take half the tables order and leave. We would say excuse me, she would look at you and keep walking away. The other wait staff were more helpful than she was. The menu had a dish called crispy whole fish. I asked her to describe it, which she did, without the mention of any sauce. When I received the fish it was absolutely horrible, it was slathered in a sweet sauce. Never again will I go back, and I DO NOT recommend it.
