Opinions de Sweet Leaf Coffee Roasters Long Island City
Omg, this place. I live in Harlem and I have thought about popping over to this coffee shop just because. The maple oat latte and the raspberry oat bar are my favorites. The vibe is artsy, chill, and it is a great place to read and relax.
Juan Carlos is the best ! Best cocktails ever ! I recomend you the Sofia de Callao and , whisky highball , mango Colin’s , and Sunday service !! Great place !! And great bartender !! ♥️
This place is quiet and quaint with a surprisingly delicious menu! Try the chicken and rice bowl! The strawberry matcha was delicious!
Cold brew is great here. We had the eggs n hash sandwich and the avocado toast. Both were delicious!
The girl that was working there was super nice and we talked about their signature coffee. Very nice environment overall! Will be coming back.
love sweetleaf coffee ! voodoo child is on point
Small place but the items they have are good. Busy for mornings as it's a small place so expect to wait a bit
I had their cold brew rocketfuel with oat milk and it was very good. Its quite strong so if you don't like strong coffees it might not be for you, but that's perfect for me. The atmosphere is really nice and relaxing. I enjoyed the booth loungers and all the art interest on the walls. Would definitely recommend.
This location changed my thoughts since the very first I visited another store, the coffee was not good. Staff team was friendly too. One of the great spot to grab coffee around the area. 🚀☕️❤️🔥Rocket fuel was a great cold drink! It was not too sweet and brighten up ur mind with nice flavors. ✨Cappuccino was a classic, well balanced. 🥕🍰Carrot cake as well, you can taste the shredded carrots and black beans. Frosting was sweet but went well with the cake.
Chill spot for coffee and breakfast stuff, including decent cup of joe and almond milk overnight oats. Quick service during busy weekend mornings near the subway for commuters and tourists. Big roomy area with open seats for weary souls.
Loved the coffee here. Plenty of choices for drinks available. Great ambience and atmosphere. The staff was great and helpful. The murals, photography, music playing in background and art were amazing. I loved my experience here and definitely recommend this place.
Best coffee makers in LIC! I’ve tried all around and always giving a chance for coffee shops but this is all they are good at! Great beans, great espresso, great oat or almond latte! Thank you so much to the girls here and of course Carter
Great vibe, good coffee, nice for reading and working, have free wifi. This is one of the coziest cafes in LIC!
One of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had! $10. Quick turn around time on a busy weekday morning.
The coffee was delicious and I loved the atmosphere of the shop. It's definitely busy and seating is limited.
If you’re looking for quality coffee Sweetleaf is the spot to go to! I wasn’t really into drinking coffee until tried a cup from here. Now I start my mornings with a tasty drip from the comfort of my apartment. I go to this location because it’s the closest to where I live, but they have other locations in LIC and Greenpoint that also have the same exact quality and love.
Lovely place. Wifi is free and the shop is quiet enough to work. Area is quiet small, but I’m able to get my work done

Stopped here for a quick bite. I must say I loved it here for It's cozy and hip atmosphere, and excellent coffee, and tea varieties and pastries. Loved the wide variety of coffee options, comfortable seating for working, and the overall welcoming vibe. Highly recommend stopping by and checking this place out if you are in the area.
Absolutely love this place. The "rocket fuel" is incredible; I get it every time but everything else on their coffee menu is great as well! Today I had the almond croissant and the heaven I experienced inspired me to finally write a review. Go Go Go!

Relatively small location but not too crowded. Tried the iced latte and one of the iced teas—both were quite good. Would come here again if in the area.
Cappuccino and breakfast burrito came out to $12.78. Both were pretty good. My only recommendation would be that they make salsa and/or guacamole available with the burrito. The atmosphere was pleasant and the WiFi was good.
I really love the coffee here, but if you're lactose intolerant, be careful!!! I always ask for oat milk, but without fail my stomach gets upset if I don't take lactose with my drinks here. The rocket fuel is my favorite drink here, be sure to pick up the cheddar scone if they have it too!
Sweetleaf Coffee is one of my favorites in NYC but it was my first time visiting their location here in LIC. It’s definitely a perfect addition to the neighborhood. We had their 2 packs of coffee bean with 25% discount and a slice of handmade loaf. It was little disappointing that no free coffee with the purchase of coffee bean. The interior decor is elegant and cozy but indoor dining was not available. The capacity was also limited during the pandemic since it is narrow-spaced.
This beautiful small cozy coffee in a high foot traffic spot area is definitely the place to be if you’re seeking a quick bite to eat and Coffee to start your morning. After exiting the 7 train, I immediately opened Yelp searching for a local coffee shop in Long Island City. Now I’m never in Long Island City nor do I come around. But this time I wanted to make it worth it. I came across Sweet Leaf and they definitely blew me away. The quality the various options of fresh baked goods and coffee beverages. I knew for a fact I started my morning just right after visiting. The bathroom were clean, the dining area was clean. My experience overall with my meal…. Perfect! The staff was great. Do you want coffee? We’ll look no further! What more can I say? Please support the locals !!
Good drink options. Not a huge menu, but good quality. Limited seating inside, none out. Couldn't find a plug for charges. Can get busy but they provide fast friendly service. Don't think there is quick parking nearby, so don't plan on a visit unless you are walking by. Close to the Queen's Plaza subway station.
Cute spot with sweet treats, pretty good coffee, friendly staff, and a nice ambience in a cool part of LIC.

Fun caffeine spot w/ themes of New York music & entertainment. I could only get a basic small cuppa coffee since their credit/debit system was temporarily down, & I only had a five dollar bill in cash; so I might have to get back to try their Rocket Fuel!

Shop is super cute and the staff is really nice and chill. Cold brew was OKAY, and the baked goods were fine. Decent experience overall.
I live very close by so I do come here occasionally but it’s very expensive. A small drip is $4. Aside from that the service is nice and the decor/space is nice.
Coffee was pretty good but barista was dour and off putting and the psychobilly 80s horror grunge rock gave the space an unsettling loud atmosphere.
I love Sweetleaf's but this one misses the mark - the baristas aren't great. That may be a generalization but more often than not, when I come here and get a foamy milk drink, it's overly hot and flat + lacks microfoam. If you want a nice foamy latte or cappuccino, don't choose this location. Fine for other drinks, iced or so as they don't require the same level of skill. Call me picky but when coffee w/ an alt milk costs over $7 and there are several high quality coffee shops/roasters in the area, I expect more.
Really great atmosphere, really expensive coffee with not enough flavoring.
The brewed coffee was okay, I would try the espresso drinks next to determine if I like the coffee. The pastries are excellent though! Update: Espresso drinks are better than the drip. Would recommend lattes or cappuccinos.

Coffee is good but the cashier charge tip from you! I always buy oat milk there and one cashier charged me $2 tips without asking! Didn’t even know that until I left. How rude.
The place has no power outlets, can't charge your phone, can't charge your laptop. Hey coffee shop why the heck do you think we pay 5 bucks for luke warm coffee anyways?
I had the maple late, it was super sweet and tasteless. I can't even taste the coffee. Not hot at all. Really disappointed.
Save yourself and walk down the block to Toby's Estate or Etto Espresso. It was alright; $4.50 for a 6 oz cappuccino (in an 8 oz) without single origin is a bit much. Also, I wasn't too thrilled when my cashier looked at me for about a minute before realizing he hadn't handed me back my change. Just a little shocking too because he avoided eye contact with almost every customer that came in. The space is well appointed but the column (structural, what can you do) ruins the space, making it more claustrophobic than it is. The mural of Queens although great, doesn't really fit with the more rustic industrial look of the rest of the space.
Cute place, but the coffee tasted somewhat burnt and the staff weren’t the friendliest

My fiance and I come to your coffee shop almost daily. And especially during COVID we want to support local shops. However recently when I come in with my dog, who is a service animal, and I am told to leave and I inform the barista he is a service animal, I get the nastiest look and I am looked up and down. This happened TWICE this week. I understand the need to check but they don't even ask, they assume and when I inform them, I made to feel extremely uncomfortable. It's not professional and if it's a concern about the health department, I would love to know how quickly the health department will be showing up right now during a global pandemic for such concern. So truly how does having my service animal in a coffee shop for 3 minutes affect them? I love your coffee but I don't need the dirty looks and will find elsewhere to go.
Heard so many good things abt this place. Tried this place twice. Iced americano. It was bland and acid both time. Bought their bean hoping that it was just old bean they used. The bean was not worth the price. Again Bland and tasteless. Going to try other locations.
Girl behind front desk was down right rude and nasty. I will NEVER go back there. I highly suggest Etto down the block. Staff there is amazing and the coffee is way better anyway.
I get that it can be unpleasant to work on Thanksgiving, but today the staff was as sour as the rotten brew. It's disappointing enough that they "didn't want to turn on their espresso machine" due it their short holiday hours, but hey, fine. But to then order a regular drip coffee to get something acrid and cold, complete with an aggressive rude response when you ask for the actual hot coffee you ordered (or a refund)? Forget it. The refusal to refund after not serving what was ordered is literally theft. I'm not a regular here, but it bodes poorly if staff takes this attitude, and management hasn't corrected it.
food and drinks are tasty but i would give 0/5 stars for the service if possible. i’ve been here many times since moving around the corner and the staff is always extremely unfriendly and the phone is never answered despite my attempt to call the store multiple times on different days at different times. i always arrive at the shop to discover that the store phone is working just fine, and the girl at the front on her phone. really hope management will do something about their staff :/
My issue is with the chef adding his own twist to the food. Like the tomato sauce on a vegan blt. And no matter how many times you request not to. He always does.
I have been a loyal customer but what is this service charge sweetleaf??? I understand this is bad economy, but you can not automatically charge people for “service fee” at a coffee shop, especially when it’s just a takeout order. Also your barista today is very rude, when I ask her what is it she rolled her eye and said “I don’t know what it is it’s just there today” and then I said “are baristas gonna get this money or the store?” She replied she will get the money. Her speech is not consistent. If you don’t know what is this fee then why would you know the money will goes to you? I’m posting this not because of the money, but this barista’s attitude and your lack of transparency on coffee price. Will spread the word and won’t come back ever again.
Asked for a green tea. Expected small size as standard. Was given a large $6.53. This issue was not offered to be corrected.
