New favorite spot! Came for Valentine’s Day, was a bit of a wait but worth it! The pancakes were amazing and fluffy, the house Hash was very satisfying and the French toast was delicious! Great staff, works hard and wonderful personality. I will come by whenever I can get the chance! Brunch is on point. Literally came in the next day again and got the Sausage gravy and biscuits.
Super cool diner! Small so large groups difficult. But for four or less don't miss this spot! Best breakfast around. Staff is amazing. I come when I hit Buffalo canal side. My eggs Benedict came with flowers. Reasonable prices.
Great place, staff is amazing -they go above and beyond!! Food was great. Atmosphere is awesome so cute in there.
Amazing. Food is so good. People are so nice. It's such a super cute place. We are in love.
Delish food, personable servers, great atmosphere, tasty mini donuts, great selections of foods on the menu to fit any style of dietary needs
Walking into Swan Street Diner felt like Notre Dame just returned a kickoff through a lightning storm while Marcus Freeman stared down the universe and said “not today.” The walls shook, the grill sizzled like a sold-out South Bend crowd, and I knew immediately this place was about to run the table. This wasn’t breakfast — this was a faith-based, blue-collar, playoff-locked manifesto disguised as pancakes. 🥞 Chocolate Chip Pancakes = The Offense The chocolate chip pancakes came out hot, thick, and absolutely loaded — no skimping, no hesitation. These are 2025 Notre Dame offense pancakes. Efficient. Powerful. Disciplined. Each bite was like watching Jeremiyah Love hit the second level — smooth, explosive, and inevitable. The chocolate chips were perfectly distributed like a Marcus Freeman scripted drive: no chaos, no wasted motion, just precision. Syrup soaked in the way Notre Dame controls time of possession — slowly suffocating you until resistance feels pointless. 🍳 Feta Omelette = The Defense The feta omelette showed up locked in like Al Golden’s defense on third down. Structured, aggressive, and completely uninterested in nonsense. The feta brought that salty edge — Xavier Watts reading the quarterback’s soul — while the eggs stayed fluffy but firm, holding everything together the way Notre Dame’s secondary clamps down late in games. No breakdowns. No blown coverages. This omelette wins ugly and sleeps great afterward. 🥔 Potatoes = The Offensive Line Now the potatoes — because champions are built in the trenches. Crispy outside, soft inside, seasoned like someone actually respects fundamentals. This is pure Joe Alt, Notre Dame offensive line energy. They don’t ask for attention, they just dominate. Every other dish succeeds because these potatoes did the dirty work first. 🐟 Salmon & Eggs = Special Teams / Veteran Leadership Ordering salmon and eggs is a veteran move. Calm. Confident. High football IQ. This plate is Sam Hartman leadership vibes — smooth, composed, and exactly what you want when the moment matters. The salmon was cooked perfectly, the eggs clean and reliable, like a clutch field goal before halftime that breaks the opponent’s spirit. 🏆 Final Verdict Swan Street Diner isn’t trying to reinvent breakfast. They’re doing what Notre Dame football does when it’s right: win with discipline, depth, and execution. Every plate showed up prepared. No mistakes. No panic. Just a clean, dominant performance wire to wire. If breakfast spots had rankings, Swan Street Diner would be Top 10 nationally, sneaking into the playoff while flashier places self-destruct. This is a Marcus Freeman–era diner — tough, confident, and built to last. Final Score: Swan Street Diner 38 Hunger 3 ☘️☘️☘️
I have been here a number of times with my boyfriend, and I have never had a bad experience! All of the staff are very friendly, accommodating, and I can tell that they all enjoy their time working. While many people would complain about the small interior/long wait times to be seated, I think that’s just what makes the diner so much more authentic! Plus, that’s how you know the food is going to be amazing! I love coming here and will continue to do so!
Just passing through Buffalo and wanted some breakfast. Found this place on Google and just saw that the reviews were mostly good and they had breakfast. I was pleasantly surprised to see a cute train car style diner with a parking space right out front. The interior is nicely restored and very clean. Service was super friendly and attentive - honestly the vibe was immaculate. I'm vegetarian and was again pleasantly surprised with the breadth of options. I opted for the tofu scramble and added some veggies. Everything was really tasty and obviously high quality ingredients. Definitely some of the better diner coffee I've ever had. Also felt very LGBTQ+ friendly. Highly recommend! Eat here or regret it forever!
We came here based on other people’s experiences and we can say that we were absolutely not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were able to be immediately seated but discovered that the restaurant soon afterwards became very busy. The food was spectacular, well prepared, fairly priced, and a unique fusion of traditional and contemporary flavors. They take cash and cards which is extremely useful and there is no mark up for using cards that is significantly appreciated.
Stopped in for breakfast with my son. Warm and inviting feel. I was so busy that one of the only spots left was at the counter, but I like the counter anyways, and the stools were comfortable. Everything was clean and organized. Staff was attentive and friendly, and lots of laughter. Food was really great. I had the Taco with Chorizo...it was awesome. Coffee was delicious too.
Wow what an amazing experience we had! Just looking from the outside this diner looks vintage…. Then you go inside and you’re blown away. Super busy but the staff were so kind and efficient. Service was amazing and the servers were very attentive. Food was out of this world! Milkshakes, Stuffed Burrito, Eggs Bene, Pancakes … you name it and it is most likely 10/10. Really enjoyed this place and the prices are very fair. Can’t wait to be back to enjoy everything else on the menu!!
An absolute must-visit for breakfast in Buffalo! Swan Street Diner completely exceeded my expectations. The food was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully made — I had the breakfast tacos (incredible!) and of course couldn’t resist the mini donuts with coffee — such a fun and nostalgic touch that made the morning feel special. What really stood out, though, was the service. I wish I remembered our server’s name, but she had round spectacles, a warm smile, and the kind of positive energy that makes you feel at home even when you’re just passing through a new city. People like her remind you why travel can be so special — it’s not just about the food, but the people and the memories. If you’re visiting Buffalo, this is the breakfast spot. Great vibes, amazing service, and delicious food that sets the tone for a perfect day.
Super cute cozy diner! My wait time was extremely long as I did walk in around brunch time! It does appear to be a popular amongst locals so I would recommend a reservation if at all possible. Food was delicious. Coffee was good. They were pretty slammed on the day that I came and visited them, but overall it was a good experience. I did have a hiccup with an order item, but I think it was definitely our error in the mixup! Patrick was awesome.
What a surprise this little dinner turned out to be. We figured it would be a nice experience to eat in an old school dining locomotive, but we didn't expect the food to be excellent! The hash was outstanding, the omelette was packed and not overcooked, made to order fresh cider donuts with chunks of apples, and even freshly made jelly for it today! Great atmosphere, friendly staff and great food. Yep.
I literally never leave reviews, but for this place it was an absolute must. The atmosphere walking in was so fun, I love the vibe of the place. Secondly the service was wildly nice, super fun, and worked together flawlessly. They had the true diner feeling and experience which meant their space behind the counter was limited and they rocked it! Lastly, and probably most importantly the food was so good, they had so many options that you don't normally see on a breakfast menu, a lot of the items were "house" made so I knew it would be good from the start, and did I mention that I didn't see an empty seat in the place during the entire time I was there? It was busy for a reason. Go here!
Very cool diner. It's amazing the amount of people that can go through this diner car at a relatively quick pace. The food was really good and the guy that greeted us at the door was very nice. Update-Came back for breakfast and couldn't help but trying a Cuban. It's one of the best I've ever had.
Stopped by the Swan Street Diner on a whim while in town. Pleasantly surprised! The building is immaculate, super cute with a great story! Menu is great; lots of choices. Food was delicious and the staff was warm and welcoming. The only downside for us was how loud the space was. Between customers eating and talking, the noise of the kitchen and the background music it was a lot. But, we could see from where we sat the take out window. Genius idea! The owner and staff have thought of everything! Will be back!
This is probably one of our favorite breakfast places. The pancakes at Swan Street need to be voted best pancakes in the city. They must be cooked in butter and they are so good.. we always order a stack for the table any time we visit. Service is always quick and friendly every time we’ve been. They get busy on the weekends so be sure to get up early if you don’t want to wait too long.
My wife and I came here today after hearing about it a few times. The hype was right! I got the corned beef and hash plate, and my wife got the French onion poutine. We finished off with the mini donuts. Everything was delicious! On a Saturday afternoon we were told there was a 30 minute wait but we ended up getting a text that our table was ready after only about 8 minutes. The place was very busy but the staff was attentive and everybody seemed in a great mood. Staff were happy, some were dancing or singing as they worked behind the counter. Whole place had a pleasant vibe. The donuts were our favorite. We went with the classic flavors, and the donuts melt in your mouth. We will definitely be back
Went for a brunch meeting and I got the smothered burrito which may not look very appetizing in pictures, but was absolutely delicious! also got a glass of orange juice on the side, which was fresh squeezed and very refreshing. To go, I got some other popular mini donuts and then assorted bundle, which were a tasty treat later on to have. It can definitely be a little busy and somewhat tight inside of here, but the food is worth it and the service is excellent.
We weren’t a fan of the small orange juice (no refills) and the home fries were unfortunately burnt. Portion sizes also felt a bit smaller than expected for the price. That said, the overall experience was pretty good. We did spend a pretty penny for a family of four, but as diner seekers, we love trying new spots and appreciate the chance to check this one out.
Nostalgic spot with tasty food. Expect a wait for a table on any weekend due to the small space. They've got a great walk in reservation system that makes it easy to wait and get a text when your table is ready. Only complaint: it was loud. Mainly because staff that day were a little over the top and yelling to one other not stop about random thoughts. Don't get me wrong, service was good, but staff yelling out every thought they have to one another in a tight spot was too much. Would go again on my diner adventures though.
