Opinions de Coconut Rabbit Los Alamitos
Love the Coconut Rabbit!! It's a small "hole in the wall" place that delights with every dish. Their dishes are always fresh and full of flavor. The staff is very friendly, attentive, accommodating, and knowledgeable of the menu. This has now become one of my favorite girls night out spots or a date night spot. Some of the very best Thai food I've personally enjoyed in OC.
Great vibe Great service Unbelievably good food The coconut rabbit dumpling was so good and the short rib panang curry was some of the best curry I’ve ever had
I had an amazing lunch experience at Coconut Rabbit! I've been eyeing this spot for a while, and finally tried it out. Let me tell you, their food is incredible. If you're looking for a mouth-watering appetizer, I highly suggest trying their Coconut Dumpling. The filling is stuffed with shrimp, crab, and chicken, and each dumpling is accompanied by a slice of fresh pineapple and cucumber, with a delicious side salad. It's a perfect start to your meal. For the main course, I strongly recommend their Salmon Panang Curry. The salmon is cooked to perfection and served with a generous portion of crispy green beans and peas in a delightful red curry sauce. The dish also comes with a side of rice that is enough to feed two people. Their seasoning is spot-on, and the spiciness is just right. While the lunch prices are reasonable, the menu options are limited, and there's an additional charge if you choose to substitute the meat. However, the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, regularly checking in on us for water refills. Overall, I highly recommend trying out Coconut Rabbit, especially for these two dishes. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
Awesome food.... Best Thai restaurant in the area. The food is very yummy & delicious and presented very well. The pineapple fried rice and corn fritters are my favorites. They have vegan and gluten friendly options as well. The service is pretty good as well. We are regulars at this place.
Delicious food and amazing service! I drove into town for business and am on a strict keto vegan diet! The cashier was extremely friendly and helping me navigate the menu! They had a ton of options for me! Once i opened my food it all looked amazing! I took a bite and fell in love! The flavors made everything taste amazing!
ordered the tri-tip salad, salmon salad and Tom-Yum Goon soup. Everything was EXCELLENT!!! Waitress was very courteous and patient. Atmosphere was very tranquil. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for outstanding Thai cuisine. 5 stars in my book
The food is consistently excellent. Staff is very attentive. Always get the eggplant tofu lunch special. The tamarind wings and the pumpkin curry with silken tofu are always a good bet also.
Plenty of parking. Very bright and light inside. Very clean. The waitress was very helpful. The food was very good and plenty of it. The price was reasonable.
Fantastic food here! I've been here a couple of times now, bringing more new fans to this restaurant. Very happy that they have gluten free options and are knowledgable about the dishes if you ask. Papaya salad and tamarind wings are great sides. My favorite dish so far is the charred noodles with chicken, gluten free. It feels like you're eating pad see ew, but without the gluten! Tasty!
Wonderful mom n pop Restraunt. Very authentic and extremely tasty! I had the chicken pad Thai, papaya salad and for the first time creamy yellow curry that was nothing like the Indian curry I had before that I didn't like, a few years back at another Restraunt. I was very surprised how much I liked the flavor of the creamy, yogurt like curry with chicken. Very flavorful. I'm not anti-curry now and am happy that I tried it! I also ordered the Thai iced tea and it was good, but very sweet so I couldn't finish it. Very quick service
What a great find! Although we live in Long Beach, this is now our favorite Thai restaurant and well worth driving over to Los Alamitos for. The place is very clean and beautifully kept up, and the food is perfection... everything fresh and perfectly cooked. The only suggestion I would have is that I'd like to see them get some individual infusing tea pots that I've seen in several other Thai restaurants. When I ordered Ginger Tea, what I expected was fresh cut ginger in an infuser. What I got instead was a poor substitute: a paper tea bag of dried something that left a lot to be desired. But this is nit-picking. Aside from the tea, everything else was amazing.
love this thai place!! it's the best thai food around. Very healthy and not greasy. I like their organic chicken spring rolls and short rib curry yummy! I never dine at the location and always order take out. It might even taste better there!. I'm just sad because they are temporary closed at the moment for an emergency. I don't know when they will be open again. hopefully it's not a permanent closure.
I love this place, I found it while in town and make it a point to stop by when I'm in Los Alamitos. The food always tastes fresh. One of my favorite dishes is Short Rib Panang Curry with brown rice, came back and tried the Tamarind Mint Glazed Chicken Wings and Coconut Rabbit Crab Curry which were a delight. Next time around I had Stir Fried Chinese Eggplants with Tofu and an awesome lime iced tea - Thai Cha-Ma-Now. Try this place out, their service is always a pleasant experience and the setting is nice.
Fantastic service and delicious food. Not too sweet like other Thai restaurants. We had the Garlic Pepper Beef, Short Rib Panang Curry and Tom Kha soup with shrimp.
I ate here last night with my gf and the food was SO DELICIOUS. I order the short rib massaman curry and it was decadent. The curry sauce was flavorful, the short rib was cooked to perfection and the whole meal was so satisfying. My gf got the yellow curry and said it was delicious as well. I was checking out the plates on other the tables when we left and everything looked just as mouth watering. The restaurant itself is very cute, their plating and presentation is leveled up and the staff was great. My rice even came out in a heart shape for February!…I would go out of my way to come back here!! Thank you♥️
Ok so hear me out my plate is almost empty at the time of posting this, I usually am a fast eater but today I slowed down to injoy this dish. let me tell you after a long flight and going threw a lot of food places, to end up her was the top of today. The food was sooo good, with a lot of complex flavors and it all came out hot and in a timely manner. I got the beef curry medium spice. next time I'll get it hotter good flaver heat thow at medium. I WILL be going back.
One of the best Thai food restaurants with extensive gluten free and vegetarian offering. Our party of five loved the Tamarind chicken which was mildly sweet and spicy. We loved it so much that we ordered a second order. The curried short ribs and pineapple fried rice were also delectable. Strongly recommend this restaurant.
Used to think this place is overpriced with small portions of food. Went back to try it again after many years, and the lunch special was great. Yummy and reasonable amount of food. Will visit again.
Just tried this place for the first time tonight. I ordered through GrubHub. Everything we ordered was great! The fresh spring rolls are the best I've ever had. I love that they have organic chicken and pineapple and the shredded carrots are really yummy. The veggie pad thai is great. And this is what makes this place a 5 star 100% new favorite, they can make sure items are gluten free!! So my veggie gluten free pad thai was super yummy. The Tom Ka coconut chicken soup was great, tasted very standard yummy coconut soup. The broth is very nice. My partner ordered Massoman curry and said it was a very great curry. New favorite all around. No photos because we just devoured it
Tis the season for well seasoned food - and excellent presentation of the dishes! We came in a large party which allowed us to try many different dishes. We were able to try the fried tofu, coconut rabbit dumplings, papaya salad, pad Thai, pad see ew, pineapple fried rice, spicy eggplant, and curry. Everything was well presented and seasoned well. Our favorite dish was the fried tofu and the pad thai. We also loved how they had chilies on the side to eat with the dishes. The service was really good and the waiters were nice. We’d love to come back again.
If you love Thai food, this is hands down the best spot in OC. It’s always so hard to decide what to order because everything is absolutely delicious. I also have to mention how friendly and attentive the staff is. They always ask if we need a high chair and provide special plates and utensils for kids—which is such a thoughtful touch. It was honestly so cute and kept my toddler happily busy 😁 If you’re looking for high-quality, authentic Thai food, this is definitely the place to go.
Loved everything we ate! They served us so well and the food was generously portioned. The pumpkin curry was out of this world!
I have driven by this place multiple times, but never thought to stop until tonight. I had the spicy fried wings as an appetizer, pad Thai with chicken for my main course and the fried banana for dessert. This place was an absolute 10 out of 10 everything was cooked perfectly, and the staff was so incredibly friendly and the service was super fast. It looks like a small mom and pop type business with beautiful ambience and simple decorations. I legit mean it when I say this, my favorite pad Thai I’ve ever had and this will be the standard for which I judge all pad Thai moving forward. Can’t say enough good things about this place and I can’t wait to come back.
One of thee best Thai restaurants I’ve been to. We got seated after waiting for about ten minutes . Once our food order was placed, our food arrived at our table promptly. The restaurant felt like I was eating in a nice cozy and Comfortable place. The staff there were attentive and friendly. Though this restaurant has a different taste than other Thai restaurants I’ve been to, it does not fail when it comes to quality. One more to add to my list of restaurants to go back to.
All 4 of us ordered something different and everyone was super satisfied with their dish. I ordered the shrimp pad thai which has fresh bean sprouts and the added benefit of it being gluten free (as pad thai typically is from what I'm told). My son ordered a curry bowl with beef and vegetables. The server was friendly and helpful. The food was ready quickly.
Very cute place. Small without being crowded. Nice atmosphere. Very good customer service. I'm vegan and was able to modify the papaya salad and pad thai to be made vegan. I also got the fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce. A friend and I shared everything. It was very clean and fresh tasting. Would def go again.
Enjoyed lunch with family at the Coconut Rabbit today. Very clean with succulents decorating the walls. Our server was super friendly, knowledgeable and made recommendations. I had the Tamarind Chicken lunch special. The tempura batter chicken came with heart shaped rice, pot stickers, and a spring salad. I had the hot Free-pour ginger tea which complemented the meal. My family had the yellow chicken curry which they loved. It had the right level of Thai spice.
Outstanding Thai cuisine. Hands down go to comfort food. Every taste is like a trip to Thailand. Small bites dumplings have flavor texture hot and cool savory and sweet. Pad thai is the best way to measure any thai restaurant. I enjoy the panang curry as my must have meal.
First time, and it was a good meal. Quick service and great customer service, portions served are just enough, no waste and no going home hungry!

Having been coming here for years love their thai food. Everything is fresh and delicious. Ww get the coconut rabbit dumplings, short rib penang curry and chicken pad thai.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Coconut Rabbit is an absolute gem in Los Alamitos! My wife and I were thrilled to see so many vegan and vegetarian options on the menu, and everything we tried was outstanding. We started with the Tofu Satay, which was perfectly seasoned and came with a delicious dipping sauce. The Pumpkin Curry was rich, flavorful, and beautifully balanced—definitely a must-try dish. The Eggplant Basil Tofu was another winner, with fresh ingredients and bold flavors that made it stand out. The service was warm and attentive, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. It’s rare to find a spot that nails both taste and value, but Coconut Rabbit does exactly that. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for fresh, flavorful Thai food with plenty of vegetarian and vegan-friendly options. We’ll definitely be back!
Delicious food. Great service. Will definitely come back again! Pumpkin Red Curry is so yummy.
One of the few restaurants I trust to eat at, in the area. The pumpkin curry is to die for. The tom yum wings (either way) are the best wings I've had in my life. The fresh rolls are my favourite appetizer. Just delicious. The crying tiger salad is perfectly spicy, and the tamarind mint dressing is delicious. I love that they offer almost all dishes in "gluten free". I trust them. They are always polite and kind when I pick up my food. I love this place.

Fine Thai food, flavorful and served in true Thai fashion. Service is very attentive with knowledgeable staff. Everything we've eaten has always been consistently fresh. Prices are moderate with a parking lot shared with the store's in strip mall. Arrive early to avoid a wait, we'll be back.
Good, quick Thai food. Not as flavorful as some of my favorite 5-star places, but decent prices for what u get. The ambiance is nice and the place is a cute little spot for a date or hang out. But I gotta say... The blue crab fried rice is delicious!!! Friendly, prompt service. Clean restaurant. Great reusable to-go containers.
Located in a large strip mall. The service was good though there were only a couple other customers there on a Saturday mid-day. The food was semi-pricey for what it was. We ordered the following which was more than enough for 4 people: -Coconut Rabbit dumplings- Do not be mistaken. There is no coconut nor rabbit, but the dumplings were delicious with various veggies and spices. -Tom Kha Noodle soup- It was good as we like coconut based soups, but it wasn't anything special as it was just chicken, coconut and noodles. -Papaya Salad- pretty tasty. Got it mildly spicy. 3 medium sized shrimp -Pad See Ew- Flavor was good, but sadly there wasn't much Chinese Broccoli. - Pumpkin Curry- Mildly sweet from the pumpkin. Good flavor. They give you a bowl of rice shaped as a heart. Definitely would need more rice or optional upgrade of roti with it. For more see IG: @grace.loves.adventures
Honestly, I came by because I thought that the coconut rabbit dumplings had rabbit meat in them not realizing that it’s just the restaurant name haha. My brain was not working at the time; but the food was decent. My grandpa enjoyed the chicken larb a lot. The larb was warm, which I don’t prefer because I’m used to it being served cold. The dumplings were alright in my opinion; I didn’t like the sweet & sour sauce they use. I did, however, enjoy the pad see ew a lot as it was well balanced. The portions were smaller than I expected but it was a perfect amount for us 3 who were moderately hungry.
The food was really good. We got the pork fried rice, curry chicken, fried wings with herbs, and chicken pad thai. I really enjoyed the food, it was mostly flavorful and did not leave me feeling heavy or weighed down. The only thing I was disappointed in was the wings. I was excited to try them based on the description that they would be “herbed wings”, but when we got them they were basic fried wings with some very light herbs sprinkled on top that you could barely taste ☹️ The wings weren’t flavorful and the only thing that made them ok was the lightly sweet sauce that came on the side. Maybe their other wings would have been better 🤷🏽♀️ All in all it was a good experience, the service was friendly, the food came quickly, and I would try them again.
Tried out for the first time. The blue crab fried rice and jungle noodles were tasty, abit greasy and wished more noodles. The shortribs panang curry was abit sweet but coconutty and good flavors. The amount of steamed rice was not enough for the bowl of curry so we had to ask for another rice order (it was an additional $2.5). Service was bit slow and not so friendly. Overall, other than abit greasy, sweet and pricey, we would come back.
Stopped in for quick dinner. First time here. Waitress very nice, attentive, explained dishes. Milk tea was very nice. Initially, going to have Jungle Noodle with Chicken, but went with two appetizer instead. Chicken Satay, and Special meat dumpling thingy..Everything was great. Will come here again.
A classic Thai spot that has a Pumpkin Chicken Curry ready for the spooky season! It's located in a strip mall and has friendly and quick service. Definitely worth a stop if you want some good quality Thai cuisine! I ended up getting their Pumpkin Chicken Curry just because fall is around the corner. Also, I haven't really seen it on other Thai menus so it's pretty rare. Anyways, the pumpkin that they use is not pumpkin, pumpkin, but kabocha squash which is very similar and so delish! It came in a super fresh curry that had notes of bayleaf and and was aromatic. It's creamy and on the sweeter side and pairs well with spice. Ask for it extra spicy! The chicken was sliced thin and was okay, but the squash and the curry were the stars of the dish. Anyways, a solid Thai restaurant that uses fresh ingredients as apparent when I had their curry. Try it out if you're in the area!!

Got Pad Thai and jungle noodles to go. Let me start with the jungle noodles. It was intensely spicy, for me at least. I usually have a moderate to high tolerance for spicy, and I could barely get through half my plate without burning my taste buds to death. However, once I got over the spiciness of the noodles, the dish was pretty good. Although I don't think I would order them again. The pad Thai was alright, not the best I've ever had. Overall, the place was ok. I've had better at a number of different places. However, considering I do business in the area, I wouldn't mind coming back. Maybe I'll order something different the next time.
This place was packed! I ordered take out. I got pumpkin chicken curry, wings, and mango sticky rice. I feel like the flavors are tailored to the area.

We have eaten here many times in the past without any issues. Unfortunately, after lunch today, my family experienced diarrhea, so we wanted to share this feedback. Edited: I ordered online and take home 4 Pad See Ewe (3 with chicken and 1 with beef)

Their phone doesn't work, so clearly they are losing a lot of business. I love Thai food and I'm glad there is another Thai place in the Los Alamitos area, but unfortunately it isn't very good. There is only ONE noodle dish on the menu. ONE. What a horrible idea. Their prices are too high and the menu is way too small. Save your money.
I was interested in ordering the Rib-eye Steak Salad and I specifically asked the server if it was a good portion since it was $20 and she said it was. Ok, so I also ordered a Thai Tea. When I got my food, It was a small portion with a couple of strips of steak and a small amount of vegetables, but didn’t come with a side of rice nor soup. Food is tasty but not worth over paying for. When I received the check, it came out to $28.41. Really!!! Last time I come here to eat!
Great food for a reasonable price. We ordered Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles to go. Portion sizes were decent, although not large. The flavor was delicious. Ingredients were high quality. Packaging was better than the average Thai restaurant.
