The experience is actually quite pleasant after a beautiful hike with friends. My favorite dish is breakfast burrito because it’s the perfect thing to have to get my energy back, easy on my tummy. Love the flavor. Atmosphere is calm and not noisy so me and my friends don’t have to talk over the noise. I’m thinking this is a good to place to wind down . Glad the group leader gave this destination to us for after hike events.
Good variety of food choices and the staff was very friendly. Reasonable prici g especially for the quality of the food. Drive 35 min to eat there, will do it again.
We dropped in unexpectedly on this fine establishment on a very early Wednesday morning after my aunt's funeral. We had about 20 to 25 people with us and it is a very tiny spot but the people who are working did an amazing job to get us all of our food timely and gave us great service and great tasting food. Thank you very much for your kindness and care during what was a very difficult day for all of our family.
We arrived here at 8:30 am - 30 min after they opened since were in vacation. Everything was clean and maintained as well, our server was a doll and such a considerate lady . She greeted us with a welcoming "Goodmorning". The food was very good, tasty, warm, and good size portion . We are staying in a hotel 10 min away and will go out of my way to eat here now. Highly recommend- outdoor seating also available with a fountain as well!
Wow, ordered the chili Verde omelet and it was breakfast and then dinner. SO delicious withh the perfect ratio of pork to omelet, lol. Came with potatoes & toast....very generous portions of delicious food. Service was spot on....fast, courteous and a friendy smile.
First time we went a couple months ago it was an order at the counter and then be served, it has since switched to waitress takes your order at the table - much better. Prices are reasonable and the food is good. Something for everyone (including my picky 6 year old) and they have fast service which is nice. My kids wish they had better coloring pages, but that's hardly a complaint.
Went here on a Saturday morning around 11. Service was excellent and they had at least one large party they were also juggling, so kudos to our servers. We sat outside and the waitress even offered to get water for my friends' dog and everything, as she was sitting under the table. There is parking in the lot on the East side of the building, such that it should never be an issue. his location is right on Katella and easy to see from the street.
The food here was on point, just good old comfort food. Where this place really shines is the service. Welcoming and friendly almost every member of the staff of whom there were many said at least something to our table. The food came quick and we were checked on just often enough that our drinks were full but we never felt interrupted. Would eat here again and again.
Food was really good! Service was a little slow but they were also a little busy so it was fine. We really enjoyed the food!
The Potholder Cafe has been a perfect place to meet midway between my son and I. They have a variety of great food that we all enjoy, including my 5 y.o. grandson. We usually sit on the patio, it's very pleasant. Of course, it's always better when the coffee is good! I highly recommend eating at the Potholder!
My family and myself decided to give them a try. We sat outside and the waitress came out right away. She was very friendly and brought our food quickly. The food was delicious and we enjoyed our meal. When I went inside to pay the bill the cook was very friendly and made me feel welcomed. We’ll be returning here in the near future.
Very friendly. Portion size is pretty big for a good price. Service is awesome.
Breakfast/brunch: Great mom-and-pop style diner with a broad menu for a small place. We ate on the patio and enjoyed the wonderful weather. The staff was great and what we ordered arrived quickly, hot, and delicious. My coffee never ran out or got cold, and they checked in with us constantly like we were regulars or family. (Our first time there.) We'll be back any time we're in the area.
This place is great. Me and a buddy of mine, eat breakfast here maybe every other Sunday and I just love it. Only thing is, I don't think they have a biscuit and gravy plate, just as a side. Other then that, the waitresses are cool as hell, coffee cup is always full, and the food is just great! I recommend this place to everyone!
Love this place! First where and it has amazing service with really good food. I highly recommended this place to anyone who wants a good meal from themselves and their family.
I was looking for a new breakfast place to try that wasn’t far away and offered a sit down breakfast with lots of options including chicken fried steak and pancakes. This place delivered. They have an outdoor patio and about 12 tables indoors. We chose indoors as it was still a bit overcast outside. We were greeted by a friendly server that told us to pick a table. She was quick to take our drink order and bring menus. I ordered the breakfast enchiladas and the hubby got the Sam’s breakfast bowl. Both were amazing! I loved my enchiladas and the potatoes were yummy too. Hubby’s bowl was piping hot! The enchilada sauce had good flavor and he’s pretty picky on his sauce. Parking was a bit challenging as the driveway does not go all the way through so when it was full, we had to back out to turn around and find parking. I would definitely recommend giving them a try. We will be back.
Flew in to do some training on post and found this lil gem in town. I ordered the couch, and don't know how work will get done today 😂😂😂. Pancakes had a great texture to them. Lawd the spuds were delicious and almost a meal in it self. Will definitely be eating here again if I'm in town again
Great gluten free pancakes ... 2 pancakes including fruit was only $10. The daily specials are good also. My friend had three pancakes three eggs and three slices of crisp bacon for $13. Everything was cooked just the way we wanted it and very tasty.
The food is amazing! The menu has so many delicious food it's hard to choose! We have been here multiple times and it never disappoints! We love the charming outdoor dining area. Last time we were here my husband lost his wallet and the helpful servers found it and reached out to us, saving us a lot of hassle and headache! I can only recommend!
This location just happened to be within walking distance of the Airbnb we were staying at. Amazing service & excellent food with an adorably decorated interior and nice outdoor seating. Don’t pass this place up!
Very good experience eating at the Potholder, food is tasty and plentiful. They are short staffed but still do a fantastic job waiting on everyone. Please be patient. 👍 👌
Came here for breakfast on Saturday morning as I was passing through the area. The location is rather odd, as it's a diner located in a shopping strip with a lot of miscellaneous stores around it. Inside however, it's very pleasing to the eye. I like how it feels like a very laid-back diner, with an American/50s-esque theme. The food was delicious and with the wide variety of options, an appetite of any kind can be accommodated for. I had two eggs with two sausages, three pancakes and a potato scramble. It had some specific name as a combo option but I cannot recall it now. It goes without saying, what I had was delicious, everything was perfect from the fluffiness of the pancakes to the potato scramble. It was great. Service was also amazing, all the employees were friendly and attentive, making sure we always had everything we needed. One man thanked us for coming in to eat there that morning as he refilled my coffee, and I felt that type of service was endearing and something not common at most other eateries. I really appreciated it. Overall, great stuff, I loved this diner a lot. Will be back when I visit SoCal again in the future.
Just like all the other Potholder Cafes; wonder, amazing and such great food! The staff is kind, helpful and super nice! Enjoy the outdoor and indoor seating! Outdoor patio is large and have heaters and umbrellas I love the pancakes and other in my party have gotten eggs, French toast, hamburgers and other delicious food. Always had a great experience when I go to a Potholder Cafe!

It was our first time eating there. Food was very good. Only one waiter, and one cook. But even though, service was great. 😊😊
I absolutely love the potholder cafe! I always come here on my Disney trips (only 20 minutes away). They have an abundance of options to choose from and everything is delicious! Definitely recommend the fruity pebble French toast, always a favorite!

Food was really good! Service was a little slow but they were also a little busy so it was fine. We really enjoyed the food!
The restaurant was clean and the servers were nice. The table clearance was minimal, there was more than one customer there that either barely or didn’t fit in the booths. And the parking lot was ridiculously small, and half the spaces were designated for a specific store.
Really decent home cooked style food. But the customer service was really top notch and that push them to 4 stars in my book. Extensive menu lots and egg dishes and like I said everything was tasty and great size portions.
I ordered the food through doordash. The majority of the food was good from the couch that I ordered. The only complaint I have is the avocado that was on top of the potatoes. Rotten black avocados What a shame since I ordered this through doordash I couldn't send it back. Not to mention food is pretty expensive now these days so I really didn't appreciate the rotten avocado.
Service was really good. Place is very clean, food was served hot, and coffee was good. My husband was particularly happy that they had the hazelnut creamer. His food was 5 stars, his plate was full and Denver omelette with chili inside was chef's kiss. However, I didn't like my waffle or toast. It sort of tasted like it was a stale frozen waffle and it had a salty after taste, but at least the butter and syrup helped.
9/20/2025 = 1130AM = 4 Star = i enjoy my food , just not enough pickles on the side, just did not ask for more coz my server is busy , I will try again a different menu next time .
Breakfast date with my granddaughter. Had a wonderful meal at this pleasant eatery. Patio seating was fun and enjoyable though traffic noise can be loud at times. Service was a little slow but when you're with a loved one who cares.
Good chow here. Definitely recommend breakfast here. Many choices on menu. Seemed like I only had a few sips of my coffee when my food arrived. Eggs came as i ordered, meat well done, and toast lightly done as requested, with butter on side. Come on down folks..get your grub on!
Chicken & Waffle + Grand Prix Omelette. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. I thought the food was okay, but my mate didn't like it. Potatoes was over-grilled.
This has become our go-to for breakfast. Awesome breakfast burrito for him and AJ's Healthnut (egg white scrambled with spinach cranberries walnuts tomatoes) for me but I had to upgrade with a waffle! Comes with potatoes yum! Everything hit the spot. Service is good, especially when it's not super crowded. There is outdoor seating so we feel pretty safe.

I would have rated the atmosphere higher but there are a ton of gnats and other bugs flying around. We ended up having to go inside. Huge breakfast portions really tasty and very splittable.

Overall, I will give a 3 star rating, but only because I wish I could also include a half star. Overall, when my husband and I came here, we were excited to try a new place. We might go back maybe one more time, but otherwise, no. Food gets a 2-star review because aside from my Eggs Benedict, which was okay, it wasn't great, but it was decent. I did enjoy what the items on the menu were named. Some were silly while others were witty. Anyways, hubs food is primarily why it gets a 2-star review. The sausage he had ordered on the side, which I think he got 4? 2 of them were so burnt that they were hardly edible. They did have parts or portions that you could get a good bite, but otherwise, it was too tough to eat. Aside from that, he did want to try the red velvet pancakes. The pancakes came out and we looked at them in delight to try them, upon taking a bite, we were a bit disappointed, the pancakes had been thoroughly soaked in chocolate syrup in each layer, and on top, decorating it with chocolate pieces/chunks. Service gets a 3-star review. Our waitress was extremely kind and patient, considering there had been the back table that was taken up by a bunch of teens who had obviously just been to a Rave and were probably coming down from "stuff" (if you know, you know). I've been to raves, and I do get it. She refilled our waters, hubs coffee, checked on us once or twice, but we greatly appreciated that she didn't check too often, to where it could be awkward, when waitresses or waiters arrive to ask you how everything is just as you take a huge bite of food. The atmosphere gets a 2-star review. It could possibly very well be just the day that we had gone, so I will say that first. The atmosphere was just a bit off and a bit weird. There were other individuals there as well, there was a cute little family, a couple that had been in a seat right behind the family, the hubs and I, the teens, and then there were these 2 elderly women. The teens were constantly super loud, listening to music, I can only assume music from the rave they just must have gone to, were speaking really loud as well, but understandable. They did give weird looks to everyone else, but otherwise minded their own business. The couple and the family were wonderful and sweet, and strangely enough, the elderly women seemed the most hostile. Immediately, hubs and I are greeted by their stares of disapproval and kept staring at us while we waited to be seated. After 5 straight mins of them staring and giving us dirty looks for whatever reason, I was going to politely tell them to take a picture because it would last longer, but luckily the waitress had come in time and had us seated. They did continue to stare for a bit longer, finished their food, and then ended up leaving. So I'm not quite sure what that was about. It had been a Monday, and it was hot, I had worn shorts, and just a regular shirt, had sunglasses just chilling on the top of my head, my purse. Hubs wasn't dressed poorly either, normal shirt, men's shorts, sunglasses, and watch. We didn't look like hooligans, so I'm not quite sure what their problem was.
Food was OK- not too pricey but wasn’t as flavorful. Had to wait a little bit for a party of 4. I would recommend every once in a while for a quick bite.
First time at this potholder location. This location was not very busy and lots of parking. We sat on their large outdoor patio. Service was good but noticed slight variations in the food and plating compared to other locations. The breakfast quesadilla included a fried egg instead of scrambled giving it a greasy taste. The salsa and sour cream were placed directly on the tortilla instead of being on the side making for a soggy and spicy tortilla. Willing to go back here based on quality of other locations
Decent, pretty tasty, good service, etc. Will have to try more items over time then update this review. One thing: They definitely need a much better beer selection; draft-beers would be great. When a bottle of Blue Moon for $7.50 is the most exotic/interesting option, you know there's serious room for improvement.
Disappointed with the quality😥I used to love this place but I ordered eggs floreinetine asked if it comes w ham.waitress said yes..but got no ham...English muffins were stale and the hollandise sauce tasted like from a can...I ordered a side of bacon and it was overcooked burned and so SALTY couldn't eat it...my son took me for belated mothers day brunch. Tuesday May 21 so I didn't want to complain.. he ordered French Dip and said it was good
It's hard to really describe my opinion of this place. On the one hand, it's reasonably priced and a nice little breakfast restaurant. On the other, I didn't enjoy my meal.

I wanted so much to like this place. Breakfast enchiladas were messy and watery, the waitress brought them over with some of the salsa spilling over, got all over my pants. The beans were terrible, bland. I was offered a different side, went with the potatoes - they were slightly tastier. The chef was nice enough to come out and explain that they don't season the beans, not his choice. I'm not sure if I'll give them another shot.
Food was pretty good. We ate inside instead of outside. There was so many flies I had to keep swatting away. I even asked our waitress if they had a fly swatter, unfortunately they didn't. So we changed tables closer to the front door. When our food came out a handful of flies found us. Food was good but they really need to get cleaner. I don't see us returning. 😒

When I returned to this location, I was surprised to see the ownership had changed. The menu is too cluttered with new items that takes us regulars to get accustomed to. I just want a simple breakfast. The atmosphere is not family friendly because it doesn’t have that traditional feeling too it. The prices are inflated to cover the upgrade they made to the place. Absolutely unnecessary and defeats the purpose of having such a restaurant in place. The quality of the food is poor. Because they added more items to the menus, the quality of the food becomes trash and unfortunately we customers are served steamy poo on a plate. Be forewarned, take your money elsewhere like to Hof’s Hut or Katella Deli.
Great place if you enjoy getting totally ripped off and like paying extreme prices for very little food. Case in point, 1 slice of French toast is $6. Wanna add 2 strawberries and 10 blueberries to that? That will be an additional $5. Unbelievable.
Food took over 30 minutes, restaurant had 3 other tables. Waiter got order wrong, before which we reconfirmed twice....waiter came back by after taking our order. Took another 15 minutes for the right order and it was cold when we got it. Food was terrible. Won't return to this location, stick to the 2 in LB.
I ordered via postmates yesterday morning from this location and they followed none of the notes I put. I am gluten free and I requested the pancakes with fruit on the side so I could use it for my benedict. That didn’t happen. I asked no English muffin which is gluten. It is on here. I asked for chorizo instead of ham and said add any additional costs and that didn’t happen. Didn’t care at all. Waited over an hour for food I can only stare at in disappointment. I have an autoimmune disease. Don’t order delivery here. No care given.
