Just went for happy hour today it was nice that we were just there and other customers before Valentine’s Day chaos. Our server was prompt and always on top of making sure we had our protein. So delish ! They had everything nice and clean the vegetables were all nice and organized! Will definitely come back again !
The food is amazing and it’s all you can eat. I bring my friends here all the time, and if you haven’t had hot pot yet, this is the perfect place to try it! The staff are super helpful when it comes to picking meats, making side sauces, and giving recs. A good time with a DELICIOUS meal. Did I mention it’s you can eat?
Gosh this place was so good! The beef was fresh and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The whole place was really clean with really cool artwork, service was quick, and the prices are reasonable. 10/10 would recommend
Excellent first Shabu Shabu Hot Pot experience & I am HOOKED!!! Everything was so fresh and flavorful. The restaurant was extremely clean and everything on the raw bar was temperature appropriate from various types of noodles, veggies 🥬🧅🥦🍄, tofu, fish cake and seafood 🦞🍲🤤. The meat selection was perfect. I just wish chicken was in the selection of meats as well. The Lamb, Wagyu and Angus Beef were delicious 😋. The staff was extremely helpful and explained everything. They also had tasty appetizers like Edamames, cheese puffs etc. but next time, I wouldn't get the sushi 🍣. But our meal ended with a lovely strawberry 🍓 ice cream 🍨 dessert which was amazing. I will definitely come back whenever I'm in North Hollywood. Excellent experience ❤️.
Was craving meat and rolls, and this basically provided both! The fact they had unlimited American Wagyu and lamb also sealed the deal. The sukiyaki broth was just right, not too salty nor too sweet. They had really good choices for vegetables, noodles, etc. The appetizers were really nice to have in between meat orders. And they give strawberry ice cream as a finisher.
I loved miso base soup, it’s a nice all you can eat place! Nice service! I will be back of course with my hole family
My husband and I are addicted to this great restaurant and excellent food. We eat at Aki Shabu in North Hollywood most weeks. “All you can eat” comes with a big variety of veggie’s & noodles, and rice, delicious hot & cold appetizers, raw fish, crab, & shrimp. Only beverages are not included. You can reorder the meat or order different meats and take as many appetizers and vegetables as you can eat. My eyes are usually bigger than my stomach - but be aware: there is an additional charge of $5.99 per plate left over. The dessert - strawberry ice cream - can not be reordered. “All you can eat” should implicate it too, but there are very strict in giving you just one portion of the refreshing ice cream. The service is great, the owners polite & helpful, he appetizers are perfect; it’s a clean restaurant, the big variety of food is always fresh & delicious, the atmosphere relaxed and fun. Sometimes a little bit noisy, depending on the guests. Just be aware of a waiting line in the evening if you are fewer than 4 people. Groups of 4 people & more can make a reservation on the phone.
We've been coming here with my wife for a very long time. The food is amazing and worth the price. The service is fast and always extremely friendly. Make sure to try the awesome sauce. There is no other place like this! We even tried to find a shabu-shabu restaurant that would beat this one when we were in Japan, but we haven't found one yet.

Culinary Indulgence, exceptionally fresh. Involved, kindly attentive staff. Wonderful experiences across our group...
Not bad! Pretty fun for my first time there! Just be careful and keep an eye on your broth
Had such an amazing experience coming here! First of all, the price is UNBEATABLE! The most affordable Japanese hot pot place I’ve ever been to. Considering that the meat and food was so fresh and flavorful, my family and I were truly shocked. The owner and the staff were so welcoming and kind and made our entire experience there very memorable. Will definitely be coming back!
I love this place, the food is great. But I am so impressed with their server. I didn't catch her name, but she was a young blonde woman holding down the entire restaurant alone. Its fall so they must have some call ins. She was bussing, she was expediting, she was handling carry out, all while holding down 10-12 tables, and I wanted for nothing. I should have grabbed her name, but I think she must go by QUEEN? MOTHER? STUD EVEN? What a great experience I had today! Cannot wait to go back. Hopefully she doesn't have to work so hard next time I'm in 😅
I love this place. The quality of the food/meat is amazing, the ladies that work here are so friendly and sweet. Definitely try their awesome sauce. Jessica helped us our first time and Tang helped us the second, both were wonderful. We’ll definitely be coming back.

This is one of those more "dirtier" shabu places, but it's fine. The meat and veggies are fresh. The broth is fine, nothing special to write home about. Staff are friendly and have recognized my cousins as regulars so that was a nice touch. There's also a free ice cream at the end to top things off!
This place was pretty good!!! I got the plain chicken broth and spiced it up my own way. They didn’t have baby bokchoy which of as sad but other than that pretty good. Their selection of veggies is small though. Not like other places where they have a huge selection. The only thing I’d say could be better is the sauce station. Idk it felt a bit unhygienic and mostly everything like the onions and garlic was almost empty. Other than that it was pretty good and definitely would go back. My friend got the creamy broth and it looked amazing.

Call them if you want to order online! I went through beyondmenu, which took my money but did not send the restaurant my order. However, when I got there, the staff took my order and had it ready for me within about 10 minutes. I got the veggie broth pho which was delicious, heart-warming, and felt healthy with the amount of vegetables included. Very reasonably priced too. Just know that the parking lot is tiny and shared with other businesses, so it can be hard to find a spot. Would definitely recommend.
First time going and the service was good! Friendly staff and very cooperative as well. The food was also really good, I loved the miso broth. My only complaint is about the atmosphere, most dishes by the bars looked dirty, the sauce dishes felt sticky and some utensils looked poorly cleaned. Other than that, there were no other issues.

We came here for lunch on Sunday. The place was pretty empty so it was easy to get a table. The slice meat selection is good. It's very fresh and tender cuts. Do not recommend most things on the buffet bar. They did not clean the squid so they had the eyeballs and they didn't remove the membrane so that was not good. The spinach had dirt all over it so it was not washed. Some of the vegetables look really sad like the beans prouds were slightly browned. I don't think we would go back there.

My biggest complaints are the service, space, and the food. Hopefully you will have a better experience. *Two stars because ice cream was good. Service: the older server was extremely rude and rushed me in picking a broth and other items. When I asked her what she recommended for anything since it was my first time she kept referring me to the menu. Also she did not ask us once if we needed anything further until the time came for us to leave. And no it was not busy. On top of that, she brought us meat that we did not even order. Space: a fairly small space with minimal room to get your sides near the selection area. Food: in my opinion for $50 a person for the premium I would rather go to Korean BBQ. The culture for shabu-shabu, may include you getting your own sides yourself, however, for this much at other similar chains, I would prefer to have these sides and other needed items ordered and not so much self service. Meat quality did not taste that great either.
Seems like this place is under new management. Prices have gone up significantly, I ended up spending about $30 more than I normally would for the same meal. I also noticed the name changed from Aki Shabu to Maki Shabu. It’s usually pretty busy, but it was surprisingly empty today, which says a lot. I used to really enjoy coming here, but after this visit, I’m not sure I’ll be back.
Service: the server was extremely rude, waited 30 minutes at table. Approached her to that we are ready to order but i was ignored. She so mean saying you can’t order more than 5 where i only got 2 items, she misheard the orders yet here tone of voice is unbelievable. She not recommended for anything since it was my first time she kept referring me to the menu. Also she did not ask us once if we needed anything further until the time came for us to leave. And no it was not busy. We are like 3 or 4 groups during that time. Food: i love the icecream🥰

Over rated...Over priced....meat was so thin couldn't bbq it became overcooked. Lunch $55 per person ...meat was tough they said it was Filet mignon they said we need to order the $79 per person is better....don't believe any pictures u see on FB or Instagram.... overcooked sushi rice...never again. I can't believe this japanese BBQ!😬

The service is genuinely so bad!! The veggie options are basically just spinach and old cabbage, so poor compared to other AYCE hot pots. They never refilled the sauces either. But the meat quality was good and they gave plenty each round
