WOW!!! I normally always have my phone with me to take pictures for reviews but this time I didn’t and I have to say this food was REAL Mexican food!!! Even the coffee was delicious 😋 Every single bite of our plate had scrumptious flavor!! The steak and grilled shrimp plate had bell peppers, onions, and squash. AND fresh homemade corn tortillas!!! Ohhhhhh my goodness!!! 🙌🏼💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💯 This is the place you’ll want to stop by if you’re in the area! I will make sure to post pictures next time I’m in town!
Food is ALWAYS on point and so is the service with the lady. She makes you feel very welcomed and is super funny and sweet.
We went there with my family and had an amazing experience. The service was outstanding! We told the woman who was taking care of us that we had traveled all the way from Chile just to eat there, and she brought us so many extra dishes on top of what we ordered so we could try and enjoy real Mexican food. We loved everything. We will definitely come back someday!
Everything we had was excellent! Cafe de olla was delicious, chilaquiles were 10/10.
El Huarachito in Lincoln Heights. Food and service was great. I had the machaca. Hand made tortillas. Tasted my nieces mole/chicken. Loved it. Great salsas and chips. Had Jamaica agua fresca but a bit sweet. I watered it down. Parking available to the left of the building in the back. Recommended the restaurant to family and friends. Give it a try.
My family choose this restaurant due to the homemade style food. The restaurant does not just offer delicious food but a family atmosphere. The Agua Fresca is sweet and refreshing. The salsas has the right amount of depth in the spice department. The tortillas are made by hand. Each bite offers a burst of flavor. We ate so much, and only stop consuming after we could not eat anymore. No matter what you order you will not regret.
Street parking, also can be wait time. Not sure if they do reservations. It's a small restaurant which makes it feel like being at a family's house. The service was friendly, just took a long time to get our food. The food was well portioned for the price. Everything was tasty and fresh. Cafe de olla was ok. Hand made tortillas were good. Other than wait time this was a good experience.
This place is small and sort of hole in the wall. It is not beautiful and it does not need to be. It is very clean inside and that is all we care about. Look or you will miss it. This is real Mexican food. I have been to Mexico and this is the real deal. The cooks are great, the service is very nice and they speak Spanish and English. They are happy to see you and will give you some great ideas for the their best items--it is the cafe de la olla. But everything is good. It is a must stop. We got out order to go and ate at a nearby park. We had a great time. Now, they close around 6 I think so don't be late. They have the best enchiladas stuffed with chicken or you can get beef. We love their omelets and I am very picky about that. I have had their steak omelet as well as their chicken omelet. I was in heaven. This place is great and it could use more customers. So go there.
The food was delicious! Very authentic plates and the cafe de olla was perfect. The staff was funny and checked in on us. It's a small location so depending on the time it can be full on the weekends.
Came here this morning, their cafe de Hoya is so delicious straight out of the pot. We had chilaquiles, enchiladas, birria de res and costillas de puerco. All of the food was so delicious, and completely worth the drive. Our server Ernes was so sweet, welcoming and attentive. But god I can’t not stress how good their coffee was 😩
The pork in black chili sauce is amazing. It's tender, spicy, and so flavorful. Spicy green salsa is awesome. Great carne asada taco and great machaca. Heartily recommend!
I hadn’t had a chance to explore places to eat in Lincoln Heights and decided to try this as my first place and I absolutely loved it. The servers were very friendly and I felt like I was at a family party. They brought out chips and salsa and they were full of flavor and tasted homemade. I ordered the carne en chile negro and it was very savory and it came with fresh made tortillas. Of course to balance it I ordered a Diet Coke 😁 although there was plenty of tables indoor, I decided to sit outside and people watch. I plan to return another time to taste their breakfast and cafe de olla.
All time favorite Mexican food spot! Been coming here for quite some time now. Incredible staff, there's a lady there I think she might be the owner; INCREDIBLE energy. Makes you feel welcomed and takes care of you like if she knows you. Always get red chilaquiles they are the optimal form of chilaquiles. Also also aguas frescas are on point. My favorite is the Melon
Great comida casera! Customer service is good! The only thing I didn’t like was that the meat in my chilaquiles was more pellejo (skin) que carne itself. The meat was difficult to chew. Other than that, the chips and salsa were good (the salsa was super tasty), chilaquiles were good in flavor and the aguas frescas estaban buenas.
My boyfriend took me to his favorite Mexican breakfast spot in Los Angeles. The servers are super nice and very welcoming. They started us off with free nachos and salsa. We ordered Café de olla, which is made with panela, a type of raw sugar, and cinnamon. It has a unique flavor and is very smooth with milk. We tried the taco de chicharron verde, with tender stewed pork skin in a mildly spicy green sauce that was very appetizing. His main dish was his favorite, Chilaquiles rojos con carne, which is tortilla chips topped with red sauce, beef, and eggs. I ordered Menudo, a tripe soup with hominy (large, peeled corn), which I garnished with lime, cilantro, and chopped onions. It's known as a Mexican hangover cure and was delicious. We also had Flautas de Papa, with crispy exteriors and smooth mashed potatoes inside, topped with guacamole. The combination of cold and hot, crispy and soft textures made for a rich and flavorful experience that we both loved. If you want to try Mexican breakfast, you definitely have to check out this place. Heads up, they only accept cash.
Uufff costillas en salsa roja con huevos. 🤤 Best guisado in the LA area. Aporriadillo was eggs and shredded steak kind like machaca. And last but not least. Agua de piña con nopal Sooo good. México taste is definitely savored here. ❤️💯 The green chile w/chicharron was impressive 😋 They make the Chicharron here! The salsas!!! Omg gotta taste!! The owner is amazing she's got a great and funny personality 😄
This place has excellent food so many dishes to choose from, everything is great if you are in the area stop by, ask the owner for the "pescado plate" it has four or five different types of "guisados" you must try this one or anything that sounds good from the menu. The Owner has so much energy and makes you feel at home, shes good suggesting food also their Coffee (cafe de olla) is so good! I'm going back soon!
Best chilaquiles in Los Angeles? Who knows? But certainly the best I've had. I got the chicken with the green sauce, as I have always got the red sauce for, and they were as good in green eyes as in red. I always think I'm going to get something else when I come here because there's so many great choices. But chilaquiles I must get because this place has ruined me for those offered by others, sort of like flying in first class ruins you for coach, or so I've heard. Side note! I do not remember how good their jalapenos were and are: outstanding . Side note to self: you are not as young as you used to be so you only need a half order, as difficult as it is to stop, bear in mind that they have yet to open a nap room here.
Low income neighborhood, easy to park, restaurant is small and a bit of an eye sore with all the clutter as you first walk in. The staff is friendly and efficient. The food is good basic home style cooking with plenty of choices. I went for breakfast and had the huevos rancheros, nothing more than two eggs with sauce on top, but the sauce was tasty, came with refried bean and papas, beans were good, tasted like they made them fresh then refried them, done right. Don't go out of your way but if you wanna shop at the 99¢ store nearby then grab a Mexican lunch this neighborhood spot fills the bill.
