Opinions de Songbird Cafe Los Angeles
Carlos was great at the door, fun music on a Friday night. Would love to come back on a Saturday to see what the crowd’s like. Fun dance floor area though. Cheap drinks too!
Cool lounge within the Songbird Cafe where you enter through the secret entrance in Chinatown. Low lighting, random DJ spinning throughout the week, cocktails, and a hip-hop aesthetic in the bathroom along the walls makes this hole-in-the wall a wise visit. I do wish the drink was a bit stiffer but because the bartender had me waiting forever so he put it on the house! That's ideal service but not always to be expected, I sincerely appreciated it since I was strapped financially anyway. I came out to watch a few friends spin mashups, blends and remixes, so I was in for a good time. I did wonder for a Friday night the crowd was super light which could be a good thing or bad thing depending on what you're looking for
Honestly, I mostly just drank straight whiskey over the course of the evening so I can’t give much of a review of Jason’s quality as a bartender. However, he gave one hell of a recommendation for post drinking dim sum. That I shall remain eternally grateful.
Great place! Very friendly staff. Good drinks. It has a very 80s retro-futurist vibe (at least the day I was there.) I love it.
They don't have many choices of beer (only can beer) but cocktails are unique. I specially like the atmosphere with a live song!
Really cool speakeasy cocktail bar. Highly recommend the Star Buck, it's a modified Moscow mule that's delicious.

We had an incredible birthday party at Songbird last Saturday. The staff, Jose, Brittany, and Jacob, were absolutely fantastic. Their professionalism and warm hospitality made the evening truly memorable. The venue itself was perfect for our celebration, and the overall experience was exceptional. I highly recommend for any special occasion.
The cocktails were well balanced. Ambiance was great, decor was nothing I've seen before, amazing. I really enjoyed the music quotes in the men's restroom. The bartender was great, very knowledgeable, I believe he made the menu. Also I was super satisfied with the clear large formats. Especially knowing he cut and shaped the clear ice, then finishing them in front of me
Decor was cute, drinks were strong, and atmosphere was lively on a Sat night. Be aware that there is a $10 cover (not sure if Sat only or when). Hard to miss the entrance since there were bouncers and a little line outside. I'll have to come back again to try the coffee or grab cocktails when it's a little quieter.

Delightful cafe! So convenient, right off Chinatown Metro stop. Best avocado toast ever!!! Love, love, love this place. Most gorgeous bar and music stage to boot! Best service! Please do yourself a favor and visit this wonderful spot!

Fun little weekend spot. Small intimate dance floor. Seems like a local DTLA/Chinatown hang out. Everyone has a friendly vibe. It's located off the beaten path away from the crowd, which I love. Came here just for drinks during Chinatown Summer Night's event.

Nice little hole in the wall bar where you have to walk through a refrigerator door to enter. The interior is well done with nice ambience and decor. My only gripe about this place is that the male bartender was SLOWWWWWW.... I wasn't the only one who felt that way, the two patrons to the left and to the right of me were also complaining as the bartender was consistently texting on his phone and even took a phone call while keeping us waiting. Otherwise, it's a cool spot and I'll stop by again with hopes that they have a different bartender.
I love Barbarossa, always a fun crowd, nostalgic decor, great DJs, and their house cocktails may be the best in SF and change seasonally. The staff and bartenders are super friendly, you can always ask what new drink they recommend, if you are lucky you will get Amena she's the best !!! Upstairs can get a little crowded if there is an event, but they have an extra bar and dance floor downstairs to make up for it. Great happy hour and date night spot.
My whiskey new years special cocktail was yummy!! The door doesn't look like a bar, go into the coffee shop and enter the fridge looking door. Literally in front of the light rail stop!!! Not many peeps there on a Saturday probably because it's new and in the way back of the modern apartment looking plaza. When you see the rock fountain turn you're right in front!!! Definitely coming back!!!!
Came here for a birthday party event and this speakeasy is pretty cool! You go into the cafe's huge freezer doors which takes you to the bar! The drinks were really good and the DJ was lit. I enjoyed it. As an FYI, you cannot bring outdoor food or treats into the establishment so please keep that in mind. Overall, we had a great time and the staff was really friendly!
Songbird Cafe was a great choice for our work Christmas party. The space feels warm and welcoming, with a cozy yet stylish vibe that makes it easy to relax, mingle, and actually hear each other talk. There’s plenty of seating for groups, and the overall atmosphere works well for both casual gatherings and semi-formal celebrations. It’s the kind of place where everyone can comfortably hang out, enjoy good food and drinks, and spend quality time together without feeling rushed—definitely a solid spot for group events and get-togethers.

Great interior sound is alright need to invest in good speakers. A dirty martini needs better olive juice doesn't taste good. The signal is low asked the bartender for the password she doesn't know it :( Restroom out of paper towels.

Drinks are expensive! My jungle bird cocktail was so small and tasted like no alcohol was in there. Perhaps there was too much pineapple juice and not enough alcohol. Which was disappointing. The DJ played okay music. Could be better. Friday night Burlesque was AMAZING! interior decorating is BEAUTIFUL! Other than that, I wish the cocktails were better. Tried my friend's drinks too and they were okay.
The show I went to see was great. It was a burlesque show, put on by the Damn Deville's. The only bones I have to pick are with the advertising. Most people, myself included, were under the impression that it was free entry, if there before 930pm, because the advertisement said so. They charged 30 bucks a head, anyway. Not cool. The bar itself is excellent. Great atmosphere, small crowd, and superb entertainment.

Can't speak to the cocktail bar? As a coffee shop they're mediocre. Their espresso shots really need to be dialed in. Over-extracted and bitter. Their drip coffee is pretty good and reasonably priced but there are better options in LA and Chinatown. Their hours are annoying.
