Fantastic Cafe on Gaffey St. San Pedro is by far my favorite burger joint, including all of gourmet burger places too. Yes taste do count and yes they are good. But one key plus of this specific Fantastic Cafe place for me is the manner of workers. Fantastic Cafe workers are so nice, warm welcoming, and patient that it’s hard not to think positive about the whole chain. If you are with toddlers, they go extra miles, let you choose off-menu a la carte, and even suggest variations. They make sure that they can make the food that babies will eat!!! In terms of food, obviously I always eat double cheeseburger combo. But I do see a lot of people eat chili verde dinner plate as well :) Lastly, if you are coming from north of Gaffey street, make sure you turn on the second right into the parking lot. The first one is exit only, where drive thru cars come out.

Fantastic Cafe on Gaffey Street is an inexpensive diner that happens to feature chili verde. The chili verde portion was large but was what I call "Gringo Chili" with little to no heat. It didn't taste of chili peppers but had a savory green sauce. I tried to get the correct chili verde flavors that I love but wasn't able to get the flavors right since their house hot sauce is a red sauce and the 2 available bottled sauces both had vinegar. The restaurant has counter pickups of food and has a drivethru window for car pickups. There isn't a lot of parking but they give large portions so local contractor trucks often visit. Wheel chair parking and entrance allow wheelchair public to enter and eat. The bathroom also could handle a wheelchair. Seating is usually 4 tops (some booths) with a single 2 top.

I've learned that not all fantastics are the same! Service is fantastic everywhere...staff was super nice and efficient...but the food did not taste the same. Wasn't bad...but wasnt amazing. Amazingly delicious as always!! The fried Zucchinis are ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ like everything else 💣 Unfortunately the ladies that take your order have the worse attitude and make you feel unwelcome. We have been coming here for many many years and it's recently that the service has gone down. Now food doesn't come out together, if you order multiple items they'll put it a plate at a time. I order the Greek Salad with Grilled Chicken Breast 4 times per month. It is a mystery every time I receive my order whether I will get a grilled chicken breast or a chopped up portion of, what tastes like, old, left over, chicken. I have taken my food back many times and asked for my order to be corrected. This is the last time I will accept this treatment. They raised the price of this salad and pass out old chopped up chicken in what is clearly supposed to be a freshly grilled chicken breast. I will make my own version at home from now on.
