Opinions de Fathers Office Los Angeles
I just moved here from Boston and this has quickly become my new spot. The burgers are great, the beer list is rock solid, and as a bartender myself, I really appreciate how passionate the staff is about what they’re pouring. That kind of energy is rare and it definitely shows. Brandon is a rock star, friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly someone who cares about craft beer. He was busy and still took the time to chat with me about beer. I’ll absolutely be back. This is exactly the kind of place any bartender who loves craft beer would be proud to be part of.
FO has always been a reliable standby for good beer and bites. It's on my short list of places to take beer aficionados who appreciate a solid burger (though I've been a beet salad stan since day one). They also have my absolute favorite variation of fries- shoestring. I appreciate the quieter nights there, where I can snag a patio seat relatively apart from other patrons. Or a seat in one of the cozy wooden booths.
So fast and so delicious!! It felt the food had arrived before we’d finished ordering - and was incredible! One of the best burgers I have ever eaten. Staff are super personable and happy to recommend good beers, even on a busy night. A great atmosphere with good inside and outdoor seating. Definitely a place to meet mates and catch up.
Stopped by Father’s Office in downtown LA for a beer and was impressed by their great selection. They offer a well-curated list of craft beers, with something for every palate, from hoppy IPAs to smooth stouts. The atmosphere was lively yet laid-back, perfect for enjoying a drink. The bar food was equally impressive—elevated, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. Their signature Office Burger is a must-try, packed with bold flavors, and the sweet potato fries were crispy and delicious. Overall, it’s a great spot for beer lovers looking for quality drinks and gourmet bar bites in a cool setting.
I absolutely love their burger, it is my favorite thing on their menu. The chicken sando is the second best thing. In terms of drinks, they have a wide range of beers (I’m not into them but my friends always are). I’m a cocktail girlie so I like trying those, they’re always surprisingly amazing.
On my burger tour of LA, I would be remiss not to have hit Father's Office. Was it the best burger on earth? No. Was it the best in LA? Still probably not, especially for the price point. But was it still damn good? You betcha. The tender, juicy patty and the combination of cheeses with the tartness from the balsamic onions and the peppery arugula is 👌🏻. It's definitely up there for sure. The Spanish mushrooms were delicious as well, do not skip out on them! The beer selection was great as well of course. They even had one of my favorites, Trappistes Rochefort 10, served in a little Trappistes Rochefort coupe glass nonetheless!
Bartender was very friendly and helpful. They have a nice bottled tea for those who don't drink alcohol. The burger was cooked perfectly. I don't really like blue cheese, so note if you don't like blue cheese, be wary. Fries are skinny and perfectly light and crispy but soft. I would prefer it with ketchup over the aioli they serve it with. Though. Their ribs are super tender. You can kind of taste the bitterness of sauce, but the sauce is good. It's not too sweet or spicy. The fried chicken sandwich uses dark meat, which I love. It's more juicy and flavorful than white meat. It's very crispy on the outside. Overall, the tastes are very varied; I'd love to come back and try new dishes.
This is my favorite burger place- not one of but the best! I’ve been coming here every time visiting Culver City for quite some years. Their burger is just creative and very well done. Aged beef with blue cheese and caramelized onion matching with arugula— never had something like this before! The combo just easily bring out all the best of each other. Beer is also good with interesting interior designs- make sure to check the bathrooms!
Must be 21yo+ to enter. Contrary to all the pictures you see, they only have one burger here and it's pretty awesome! I highly recommend getting a medium or medium rare. The fry's are also very good. It's hard to stop eating them. The ribs look very appetizing, but the taste is just so so. Nice bar, good selection of beer. My favorite is the Hefeweizen!

Does only one type of burger, but it's great! Available several types of draft beers. All orders are made in the bar which means no waitress available at any given time.

Great selection of beers with a list of very short list of rare beer as well. Love Belgium beer so this location is perfect. The food!!!! If you come here you must try the “fathers burger” it’s insanely delicious. Company it with string fries. Don’t feel guilty if you end up order a second round of fries, the garlic aoli is so good!!! The bone marrow is another must try, step out of your comfort zone, a buddy of mine never had it and loved it. Location is very cool for a get together of friends to talk and be loud by the patio, it can get a bit busy. Like I said it’s the perfect place to be social. Bring a date have a nice drink inside where the mood is already set ambient vibe. On chilly nights they do have a few heaters underneath the benches so that’s good. The only con about this place which is not a big deal, you have to walk back inside to order anything but highly recommend “Fathers Office” parking is very easy, great location and note you MUST be over 21 to enter. Cheers!
Self serve resturant, order everything from bar & you return to order additional drinks. You do all the work. Food brought by runners & never at same time. 1 sandwich, then next sandwich & last were the French fries. WIERD & cold environment. $$$ for doing your own work. The only smile we received was at door for I.D. check. Good food, easy parking. If I needed ketchup for fries I had to go ask bar-tender.
Came back to Father’s Office after about 10 years, and both the restaurant and the surrounding neighborhood have upgraded. The space has a dark, cozy ambiance with wood-paneled ceilings, and there’s both indoor and outdoor seating. It wasn’t too crowded on a Saturday night, about half full and not too loud, which was surprising, so maybe they get more weekday traffic. I ordered The Office Burger, which was delicious and definitely not your standard burger, different ingredients and unique in flavor. With a beer and tip, you're looking at $40+ per person. There’s free covered parking, and the area is walkable, with other cafes, restaurants, and home design stores nearby.
The selection of beer is great and the quality of beers they have on tap is also great quality. They have a lot of beers from Russian River and a few from out of states that are highly reputable. Their food is still as good as it was before. The no modification fathers office burger is very good with the copious amounts of arugula and tender juicy patty. The tots were fried well and crispy and the garlic parsley aioli goes well with it. It's a bummer the bone marrow wasn't on the menu when I went since I remember that being super good. The staff is very nice and personable. They know a lot about their alcohol selection along with recommendations. They also seem to have a lot of locals that frequent the establishment that they often recognize and converse with and be able to accommodate their alcohol preferences. The atmosphere is very chill and casual. The music and noise can be a bit loud so the outdoor patio is a great alternative.
Reason for visiting: happy hour after work Date/time of visit: Wednesday, ~6:00 PM Parking: there's free parking in the structure and in the lot shared by other businesses. If it's full, there's street parking in the back on the street directly behind the parking lot(s); meter parking is good for 2 hrs at a time. ~$2.00 for 2 hours; meter parking ends at 8:00PM. Free after. Party size: 8 people Environment/ambience: loud but fun. TVs around for a few games; we sat at the bar. I got there a few minutes late but seems not too hard to find seating in the bar area; we did have to split up but near each other. Service: was great; both the bartenders were great. Friendly and offered suggestions. Really chill peoples. Food: had the Kolsch lager and a few fries. Everything was good. Cost: I bought 1 round; ~7 beers and sweet potato fries. $105 with tip. Would I go back (yes/no): 90/10
Had been hearing so much about this place so I finally decided to stop by and try their burger. Let me preface this by saying that I had heard this was one of the best burgers in LA. When it came out, it didn't really look like your classic burger. It looked more like a sandwich cut in half. Regardless, the meat was cooked perfectly and was the star of the show. We thought the sauce was a little too sweet but overall a really solid burger. The fries were pretty good too, along with the aioli. Would definitely come back and try some other stuff on their menu in the future. Parking here is a little tricky but there's usually some spots around.

At one point this was my favorite place in the area, but I believe the Helms neighborhood has made it impossibly expensive for them to operate. The price increases over the years are a bit jarring even for Los Angeles. A casual visit for two people with two burgers, some tots, and four beers would run you $120 easily, and more if you tip extra. The staff is fantastic, but I'm just not seeing how this place should be on a regular rotation with better value available elsewhere within a two-mile radius.
I hate being a bubble buster or a wet blanket but the “office burger” needs a vacation, I’ve heard so much about it being one of the best in LA. It’s not even top 25, a burger at its core is a simple dish, this one’s anything but simple, from the strange choice of the hard crust mini baguette style bun to the overly complex mixtures of flavors of dry aged beef, caramelized onions and two different kinds of heavy tasting cheeses, it all gets lost in the sauce and creates something that has no business being called a burger, and on top of all that they chose to add the Krispp bitterness or arugula. All strange choice. I’d skip this place all together if like me you came here just for this menu item. The atmosphere is chill, at least on a Monday night. But I’d hate to see what this place looks like on the weekend, maybe it tastes better when you’re all sauced up on one of the many beers on tap. All in all this place is ok if you’re in looking for a light dining experience and more into the bar vibe. Would not revisit, but I’m definitely not the customer they’re aiming at.

I'll echo what others have said. For a place that has such an informal vibe, they are overwhelmingly snooty. No substitutions. They don't serve vodka... it has no flavor. No accommodations for the GF crowd or those with tomato allergies. No children, no dogs. (I like that, actually.) Two appetizers, one gin drink but, get this, they don't believe in olives!, one fairly mediocre office burger, one quickly hardening shoestring fries: $100 with tip. The owner/chef may be a control freak, but they can't control me if I don't ever go back.
When you're looking for a good burger, this place comes up on your list especially when you live in the Culver area. I was not impressed by the choice of burger they served. They only have one, btw. There's no substitutions, so the person who came up with this burger seemed to be very confident in his choice of what goes with what. The sandwich is not gourmet, it has too many flavors that overpower each other and the fact that this place doesn't have condiments besides aioli?! because the chef doesn't like them, lol is ridiculous. Also, the place smelled like rotten eggs inside and outside, which didn't help. The fries and tots had good texture, but they were very salty and then to have to dip them in aioli (which made it worse), because you don't offer people ketchup, or any other condiments. The only real positive was that the service was quick and the staff was very kind. I would not recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good burger and options.
