I was in town for work and wondering around looking for a lunch spot. What a find this place was! The food was SO fresh. The hot and sour soup was delicious. I ordered Mongolian Beef and it was divine! The service was fast and friendly. I wish I lived closer!! Highly recommend!
First Szechuan Wok is a hidden Westwood gem. I can't believe I passed by this location for several years before finally trying it. A friend suggested we eat here, let's just say I will be going back many times. I happened to meet the owner and his wife who were happy to welcome me in. They have owned the place for 19 years, it is family run to this day. The dinner started off with hot tea, we ordered a LOT of food here. All family style. Wonton soup, egg rolls, egg foo young, dumplings, noodles, baby bok choy with mushroom, and more. I really enjoyed everything and wouldn't be able to pick a favorite item. I ESPECIALLY love the bok choy and mushroom dish. Bok choy cooked just right and the mushrooms were delicious of course. The wonton soup was quite delicious with the hot chili oil and vinegar.. I love hot chili oil anywhere but this one was even more tasty than I remember at other places. After all I didn't get a chance to eat the entire menu but got a great selection from here. I will definitely be back. They are really quite hospitable and the service and food were both spectacular.
The lunch combo was exactly what my mom and I needed and wanted. We also had tea and it was delicious.

Wow hidden gem. We brought a big group in so we were able to try a variety of dishes - egg drop soup, orange chicken, black bean fish, broccoli beef, emperor’s chicken, etc. It was all a hit! I cannot speak to its authenticity as Szechuan cuisine, but our overall experience was great. Good quality and quantity of food for the price, great service, staff were attentive and friendly, and ambiance is clean and peaceful. They have lunch and dinner specials. Street parking
We've gotten takeout on a number of occasions from this restaurant. Food is flavorful
SOO good heaven on earth. Best orange chicken, their noodles are perfect, not to greasy. their spicy food is just hot enough but not too hot. I love it! Def coming back <3
We were staying in a hotel in Westwood following surgery. Ordering online was a challenge so we called the restaurant, who helped us tremendously. The food was excellent, on time and payment was handled easily. Highly recommend this restaurant and will eat there again.
Great food. No alcohol is Served.
a solid chinese place. i come here regularly and the service is always good and the food consistent. the lunch specials are always a good value and they know my order well so i don’t ever worry about them getting it wrong. it’s one of the better places i can find in westwood village, which, sadly, is lacking in food quality because the primary market is students (not exactly consumers of fine dining on their budgets).

Wow. Excellent. Had a special request and these guys delivered. I showed up at 11am right at opening time and had my food at 11:15. My new go to. The eggplant is amazing

Wanted something not too heavy but also wanted something filling, and also in walking distance. I found this place on the ritual app and placed my order. I got the veggie lo mein which came an egg roll and either egg drop soup or hot and sour soup, I chose egg drop soup. I wasn't sure why there was rice with the lo mein but the lo mein was good. It had cabbage, bok choy, broccoli, snap peas, and onions. I wasn't a fan of the egg drop soup but the egg roll was good.

Got the sweet and sour lunch order which was pretty good. The portions were pretty decent for one person and the price of about $10 is reasonable, too. I didn't like one thing, though. When I went in to pick up my order, the server didn't ask if i needed help, but then two other Asians came in and he immediately helped them out. A minute later he finally asked if i needed help. I looked passed this, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars.
The food was delicious as was the atmosphere. I went there on Christmas for dinner and there was a rush so the service was understandably slow. They took a while to get our soups because one wasn't prepared yet, understandable, but they could have told us what the hold up was before we asked like five times. They did end up giving us a lot of discounts which we appreciated but weren't demanding, we just were really hungry and they were taking very long with the meals. Eventually they brought the meals out as they were finished with them, instead of bringing them out all at once, so we were satisfied. The food quality was great, the service was great as well. I took a star off because I was really hungry and was getting zero information about my food for a long time.

I came here with my friends for dinner after doing a walk-through in Hollywood. The place was empty for a Saturday night, so we got the full attention of the waiter. We ordered orange chicken, fried rice, sliced chicken with snow pea pods, and beef broccoli. It was ordered in the style of family portions, but the plates of food were small. The food was good, and the fried rice was very tasty. My only complaint was the food portions felt small. We had to order one more time to bring more food because we still felt hungry. The server was nice to bring oranges at the end as dessert. Overall, the server was nice, the food was delicious, but they need to put bigger portions.

The website said it was Sichuan cuisine and 4 stars, so we went to this restaurant. I am a person who is very sensitive to smell. The restaurant is clean and tidy inside and the service staff is also very good, but the environment smells like a kitchen that is not cleaned properly, and the tabletop feels sticky. We ordered 2 pot stickers (6 pieces per serving for $13), one eggplant with fish flavor, one mapo tofu, and one kung pao chicken, and the total cost was almost $90. It is not a problem that it is expensive, but the problem is that I paid this price for bad food and tasteless food. The eggplant tasted not fresh and had a rotten taste, and the chicken in the kung pao chicken was too fishy, and they did not remove the fishy smell first. And this kung pao chicken is not authentic Sichuan cuisine at all. As for the pot stickers, they are not handmade but bought from the store (not handmade and still sold at such a high price). Only three of the five dishes were edible and the best was the mapo tofu (even though there was no minced meat in it). This restaurant is expensive and not authentic Sichuan cuisine at all.
I wanted to like this place because it's so close to my apartment. But it's not very good. Very few if any actual Sichuan dishes. As someone else commented, it caters to the western palate. Not very authentic. The egg drop soup tasted good, and reminded me of childhood Chinese restaurants in Delaware. But again, very western. The chicken boiled dumplings had little taste. The sauce spiced them up, though. The Kung Pao 3 ways was uninspired. The meat had a weird non-meat consistency, was a little too salty and tasted like a frozen syrup packet rather than a hand made sauce. The food came out very fast, but didn't taste reheated as some have said. But it didn't taste great, either. I imagine some of the other dishes taste better.
My review of this restaurant is entirely based upon one delivery experience. I can say that delivery was quick and easy and that service was curtious. However, the food was terrible and I and the group of people I was with at the time will not solicit the services of this restaurant again. All fried chicken products were dry, bland, and of poor quality with softened breading. The beef and broccoli was of very low quality to the point at which I didn't feel safe eating it. Rice was dry. Never again.
I have been a customer for over 10 years. This used to be a really good restaurant but recently they did a major increase in price and major decrease in quality. The General Tso Chiccken went from $11.95 to $16.95. Pretty severe increase. Although the $11.95 dish was good sized chicken chunks with sauce. The $16.95 dish was more like popcorn chicken and dry. So sad that a really great spot has lost its way. At the new price point there are way better Chinese food restaurants for the value. We will be visiting those and will not be back to FIrst Szechuan Wok.

AVOID THIS PLACE!!! Literally sold me days old reheated food. I could taste the refrigerator on the food. I ordered Kung Pao Shrimp with Fried Rice and it literally came out in 3-5 minutes. The egg role was refried and the inside was literally mush. It looks nice but they serve trash. The waiter was pleasant but that didn't stop him from serving me mushy old food.
Gross. Traditional Chinese chicken? So salty I can't eat it. Terrible.
