This place is so good. The chicken strips are the best I think I’ve ever had. Top it off with fries and a biscuit and it’s that much better. I took a chance on the place (the curb appeal of the restaurant is not that inviting) and was pleasantly surprised! The food takes some time to prepare but the service here is excellent. This is now my go to place when I’m nearby on Western Avenue.

1 of the last standing Golden Birds. Chicken is still pretty good. I like it. This particular time they took 4ever to take my order. As a matter of fact I left the drive up box to go to the window to order. Got my chicken and left.

For the time when regular chicken want do, when you want to impress that special someone with a better than usual Chicken experience. This is your place, upon tasting the Chicken from this location you quickly realize, this is a next level type chicken, Much care is put into the flavor and this is noticed right from the sight and then theres the flavor, Second to none

People were cool, nice. Fries were pretty good the chicken was interesting, but it didn't reach my expectations. Overall it's pretty good glad I went to this spot.

Golden Bird is still good and crunchy 😋. The service was nothing special, and the atmosphere was nonexistent, I was the only one there. They only except cash and the do have an 🏧, so that's good. No menu's everything is written on a black board. I'll go back only in the daytime! Not a good neighborhood to be in after dark!

The chicken was battered in a wet batter then fried, and it was really salty. The biscuits were real it hard and the corn bread was okay, but a little dry. The greens were okay and the fries were good. They put Lawyry's seasoned salt on the fries. The desserts were about $7-$9 per slice, so I didn't try. I thought that was too pricey. The meal was a bit pricey too

I have been a Golden Bird lover since the 80's. I went today on Western in Los Angeles. The greens . The Mac and cheese and chicken have no taste. The counter lady is blah.. rude . The young lady who served my food had a great smile and attitude. The prices are way over priced and that's so ridiculous. 3 piece $15.99 added a breast instead of thigh, Total with drink which wasn't added as part of the meal $23.34 the whole dinner was a waste . I can do better with frying my own with Dixie fry chicken mix. So I won't be going back .

I am so disappointed! I got the four piece meal with two sides which only give you an option of picking one. I got the Mac n cheese it was so disgusting. It taste like water and pasta . The chicken taste like grease and salt . Will never purchase again . Eeww 🤢

The chicken was pink inside, and the sides were very old.The lady behind the counter was rude. This tastes nothing like the original golden bird. It needs to be renamed.

The chicken looks and taste burnt or fried in old grease. A waste of my money, will keep going to Honey Kettle. Until they do the same, as Golden Bird..

What the heck did I just try. This mess is Nasty. The biscuits are hard as a rock mac&ch is horrible and not up to temperature. Coleslaw trash fries blah. I do not recommend this place. The peach cobbler looks like throw up.

I'll begin with a precursor, it was pure nostalgia that moved me in the direction to try Golden Bird! You know, the sweet memories of sitting in the backseat and grubbing on their delicious chicken after church with my grandma. That slightly sweet, crunchy coating!!! Yes, yes and yes- I drove by a few times and today was finally the day that I gave in. Well, first thing that should of deterred me was the prices!! Initially, I was just gonna grab a few pieces for the family-but a 16 piece was almost $70!!!!! I must admit that I was very insulted because what chicken costs that much??? Even air chilled, organic chicken from Whole Foods isn't that much! And even bigger, this isn't even freshly fried chicken! This chicken is prefried, sits under a heat lamp for who knows got long, and is sold on Florence and Western!! There's no great views, no wait service, no ambiance. Actually, I was pissed that I didn't see the huge pile of trash sitting next to the door when I went in because I'm sure it would've deterred me from even proceeding! Any who, I decided to grab the 2 piece with 2 sides and a corn muffin. Long story short, I wish I could've reclaimed my time, my energy and all 15 of my dollars!! Now I speak on the prices here but make no misunderstanding- I don't mind playing top dollar for good food and good service! This on the other hand was not one of those experiences tho! That chicken was super greasy and tasted old, refried, and trash ready! And the sides were just plain nasty!!! For health purposes, I couldn't even bring myself to eat the sides because watching the lady handle everybody's money, pick trash up off the floor, then walk over and scoop the food into the container with no gloves on was disgusting!! Side bar, the sides were greens and yams!! I chose those because they were the only decent looking things in the steamer! The beans and the macaroni and cheese looked tragic- like the heat lamp had completely dried them out. Ultimately, I would not recommend eating at Golden Bird! The food was awful, as were their food safety procedures!! Worst of all is the price range!! Like if you're gonna sling chicken in that area, at least freshly fry it and price it in a place where folks in the neighborhood could actually afford to buy it!
