They have the best garlic spread. Everyone in my family is addicted to it. Oh the mini bagels are perfect size. My niece just loves them. All and all this is a great bagel shop. Also has other wonderful things . A must try.
Best bagels on the west side in my opinion! It’s a humble, unpretentious bagel shop with all the variety you could ask for. I usually get an everything bagel sausage egg and cheese sandwich. They also sell day old bagels for CHEAP in bags at the register, which is great if you want quality bagels at home. The people who work there are super friendly and even when there is a long wait it is worth it!
Great bagels, bagel sandwiches, baguettes, sandwiches, with Boar's head cold cuts and very good white fish. The pickles were a bit odd to our taste, but the desserts looked good. There can be long lines and it can be slow, but the staff is friendly and working very hard and fast to keep the line moving. Definitely an excellent breakfast/deli stop, just wish they had fresh OJ!
I have been coming here for the past 2 months, and I love it! They have a variety of bagels, and spreads. I cannot comment on the lunch menu, because I am at Santa Monica in the morning only. Nonetheless, their breakfast bagels are delicious. I would recommend a breakfast bagel or their bagel boy if you do not want meat. The customer service has been great, no complaints on that at all. As a student though, the cost is a little pricey, but worth it.
Lived in LA ten years and this is hands down the best bagel/ breakfast sandwich spot I’ve found. Got the bagel breakfast sandwich, Mac salad, chicken salad and brisket special (which may be a little heavy for the am but perfect for lunch). Everything was delicious and I can’t wait to go back this weekend. Plus all the staff was soooo friendly and funny!
Great collection of bagels, always fresh. Quick service, and sandwiches are just what you need to kick start your Sunday. We also buy their 6pk bagels to take home - and it tastes fine even a day or two later. Ample parking and socially distanced queues help!
My favorite bagel spot in town. While it’s hard to really compare to New York, it does its best. Only minor warnings are that the line can get long on weekends and the coffee can be a little too close to room temp. Some of the friendliest staff around. Always feels like they’re happy to see you.
The bagels here are very very good but full short of a New York bagel. If they were like New York bagels you could smell them down the block! A little on the expensive size but the staff is friendly snd the rest of the food is not bad. I would recommend it although there's another deli with the same name That I'm dying to try
This bagel place quickly became my husband and I's favorite place for a delicious bagel sandwich. We've actually recommended this place to all of our friends which have all also loved it. When it gets busy, there is quite a line but they work quickly to get to everyone's order so they don't wait too long. They also have small tables set up outside which is nice if you want to eat there.
Highly recommend! By far are the best bagels I’ve found on the west coast!! As an east coaster was thrilled to find the place! And the staff is super friendly. A plus for dairy free folks they have dairy free cream cheese!
Fresh bagels what’s not to like 😊
I’m a New York transplant. These bagels are authentic and really good. They have the best chicken salad and their friendly service pushes them over the top. Highly recommend
We love them!!! The nicest people ever always with a smile and a good vibe! You can see that they probably like working there, which makes me happy. We always get the Lox Bagel. They have different kinds of spread, and if you like spicy they have the Tijuana Hot spread.
The bagel breakfast sandwiches are the best in town. It gets very crowded at times, but I didn't dock any stars because the crowds are a consequence of how good these sandwiches are. They will get you some food in 5 min or less, and it's going to be delicious.
Friendly staff and plenty of the typical bagel shop expectations such as lox and various cream cheese options. They have also added items such as flour, yeast, milk, eggs and some other staples. Prices are decent and easy in/out parking. They have a good variety of sandwiches and side salads.
Best bagel spot in town and honestly one of the best bagels that I have had in my life. The only time I've had a bagel this good was in New York City, so it lives up to the name. Don't go anywhere else in LA and it's worth the drive. The egg salad and chicken salad is also pretty good
New York Bagels and Deli in Mar Vista is an absolute gem! The bagels are delicious, fresh baked, and perfectly chewy, just like a classic New York bagel should be. The deli and sandwiches to go are always made fresh, loaded with quality ingredients, and taste amazing every time. The friendly staff makes the experience even better, fast, welcoming, and always happy to help. Plus, great parking makes stopping in super easy, whether you’re grabbing breakfast or lunch on the go (specially with children). If you’re craving fresh baked bagels, a top-notch deli, or incredible sandwiches to go, this is the place. Highly recommend! 🥯🥪 The tuna and whitefish salads are bomb as well!
Stopped in for my first time for breakfast yesterday and it won’t be the last time. Everything was really good and the staff was very polite. It’s also located in a small strip mall that has plenty of free parking right out front. I especially like how they have Boar’s Head meats available as well as a lot of great drink options. Service was very fast and the whole staff was very friendly. It’s fairly small on the inside, so this is not the sort of place that you will sit down and eat inside, it’s more for to go orders. They have a good amount of bagel options as well as breakfast and lunch sandwich options. As mentioned, they have a lot of different Boar’s Head meat selections, as well as a good amount of cream cheese options. For my first visit, I chose one of their breakfast sandwiches, the sausage, cheese, and egg and enjoyed it. I also tried one of their everything bagels with just cream cheese and would say I enjoyed that even more and would definitely recommend either or both. I plan to be back in the future to try more items and would recommend to anyone in the area.
Bialys! They actually have real-looking bialys! Every other place in LA that claims to offer them are just selling rolls with some onions and poppyseeds on top. But these are the real thing! The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, and service was fast. Only other thing I could mention is that this is a morning & noon place. They close at 3 on weekdays and 4 on weekends, but they open super early.
Ordered breakfast salmon bagel sandwich with scallion cream cheese and everything bagel. Bagel was fresh, overall sandwich was pretty standard, but still a great start to the day. They got my order wrong but they remade it no questions asked. Also had a tofu cream cheese option. Seating outside. Would come again.
Fantastic give me 14 of them. But seriously this place is no joke. Coming from someone that lived in NYC, that’s saying something. Pictured an everything bagel lox sandwich with lox spread. AKA, the holy trinity of carbs, fish, and cream cheese. 😋
Was visiting from Italy as an expat and needed a good bagel to satisfy my craving. I came here and was more than satisfied. I got excited and ordered it all and nothing disappointed. The bagels, cream cheese, bacon egg and cheese, coffee, and the variety of flavors were all a home run. The service was fantastic and the all the workers were extremely nice making the experience 5 stars!
Reason for visiting: pick up a couple of bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwiches; one regular bagel and one poppy seed bagel Date/time of visit: Wednesday morning, ~7:00 AM Parking: in the adjacent lot; free. No street parking but if you come early there's parking Party size: 1 Environment/ambience: cool vibe; all different kinds of bagels and breakfast items. No regular buns, only bagels. They have Boar's head meat and lox too. All breakfast sandwiches are made to order. Easy to get in and out if you get there early; you can order ahead too Service: was great; the guys were awesome. Funny too. Food: had 2 bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwiches. 1 lb of chocolate Macarons. Everything was great; breakfast sandwich was great and macarons tasted fresh. I'm not a coconut fan but the cookie was still good. 1 lb is roughly 6-7 cookies. Cost: 2 breakfast sandwiches and 1 lb of Macarons, $37.95. Would I go back (yes/no): 100/0
Thank you to NY Bagel & Deli for taking on a huge order for my team! Everyone including myself absolutely loved the black & white cookies. Also - these bad boys were massive and lived up to their tasty appearance! Hand for scale lol Thank you Rocky and team! Ann’s a big thank you for throughout in some coconut macaroons which were honestly the BEST thing I’ve ever tasted! I’ll definitely be coming back for myself as well :)
Great authentic bagel shop! Good selection of bagels, generous sandwiches and reasonably priced. I’ll be back!
Came for work in this area, and this place popped out the closest to my hotel. My team and I had breakfast bagels and they were above average, served with love and didnt take long. The place is clean and organized. Highly recommended
Great, friendly service, tasty bagels. Good deal for bagel sandwich, coffee, and a hash brown. Got the pastrami bagel sandwich they took the time to heat up the pastrami, which was delicious.
Best bagels on the Westside and probably in LA. Reminiscent of the NY deli experience many of us in LA crave. Fast, great prices, tons of options and amazing customer service.
Absolutely insane bagels, from the quality of the dough to the amazing selection of spreads, cheeses and meats everything is incredible! I couldn’t recommend this place more!
This place is the real deal. Everyone who was in there when I was seemed to be a regular (aka you know it’s good). Staff is super friendly! I got a BLT with turkey and avocado. It came with a bag of chips. I ate every single bite. 10/10.

Great food and coffee. Owner and staff were better than that. Other customers were friendly, too. It's contagious.
Very simple but that’s how a good bagel shop should be. Sometimes line out the door but the staff moves fast.
Ever crave a NY style BEC bagel but you live in West LA? Look no further than New York Bagel and Deli! While there are many good bagel places in the city, this has the best bagel quality and value in my opinion. They do everything, from bagel with shmear and lox to BEC and even pizza, all for an affordable price. Highlight is the sandwich combo which is a fat bagel sandwich and a combo. It's my go to for a filling breakfast for a long day!
Food was delicious and they had Joe’s tea (my favorite). People were nice and food was efficient. Will be back

Legit bagels and schmears, 10$ for a bagel with creme cheese and an orange juice
The food is delicious. There is a very large selection. Parking spaces are also available. The only small negative point is that not every employee is friendly.
The bagels are really solid. And just a bag of bagels is a pretty good deal. Their cream cheese is pretty good too. They have just plain and a few other flavors like a garlic herb. but their breakfast sandwich is just kinda mid. It wasn't gross it just wasn't delicious. Nothing fancy just bagel egg bacon and cheese. It wasn't a crispy toasty bagel and it just kinda lacked flavor
NOTE: 75 cents surcharge for entrees containing eggs due to the egg shortage Budget lunch options in Sawtelle are hard to come by. At NY Bagel and Deli, you can get a good old fashion new york style bagel for less than $10 (including an add on and the egg surcharge). Their bagels seemed to be made in house. I found their everything bagel to be delicious! It was very filling as well. I came later around 1pm and they ran out of hashbrowns. Hoping they have hashbrowns the next time I visit!
bagels are delicious but they almost always ring it up wrong on the register or forget an item or two. Not entirely their fault, it does get busy, but the person taking the order often shouts the orders to the person to ring up instead of handing him the paper check. Anyways…

This is the most mid bagel place in West LA. I’ve been disappointed every time I’ve gone. Maybe the deli is better but I don’t recommend the bagels.
Nice to have a decent bagel place right around the corner. Don't think I'd drive across the city for NYBD but I grew up with good bagels and it's nice to have easy access to a good bagel again. Tends to take a while though even if it's not busy so don't swing by if you're in a rush.
Great Bagels and sandwiches, but far too expensive. However, the staff is great and nearly makes up for the difference. They have a good system to keep things moving when there is a line. Also, if you order coffee, they hand you a cup right away. This way you can make it and sip it while you wait for the rest of your order to be prepared. Seems like a small thing, but it really is a time saver and also makes the wait seem shorter when you have something to do. My biggest complaint is the Manhattan prices. I've actually had similar quality for less money in the Village in NYC.
Ever since I tried bagels in NYC, I'm super picky. I have yet to find a place in LA that compares. Tried the plain, everything, and cinnamon raisin bagels. All were just ok, definitely nothing like NY bagels, sorry. Service was friendly.
Decent bagel sandwich. Bagels were a little tough however is was 1pm. I got the egg salad sandwich . The egg salad was perfect. Also had a blueberry bagel and they give you a generous amount of cream cheese. The chocolate chip cookie was very good. Not worth going out of the way for.

Plan on spending some time here. The bagels are mediocre at best (there's a better bagel store right down the street), but most importantly, I don't think I've ever gotten out of here in under 15 minutes, even when all I am getting is a couple of bagels. The way things are set up, there is only one line, so you will wait while somebody buys bagels for the neighborhood. Only one person is authorized to use the register, so forget getting checked out by someone else. Avoid it.
I am very upset about my experience here. woke up this morning with a craving for lox so gave this place a try. I saw on their menu they only had smoked salmon, but they had an option for a lox platter, so I asked the lady working if I could get the bagel with lox, not smoked salmon. She rolled her eyes at me and told me there was no difference. I told there is a difference, smoked has a Smokey flavor (which I would never order) and lox is cured with no smoke. She assured me the lox was lox and it was not smoked. She then handed me a smoked salmon bagel. I was livid. $10.99, no apology, extremely rude service with HORRIBLE customer service, waited 15 minutes, and it was the worst salmon bagel I have ever ordered, way too much cream cheese and onion, not enough salmon or capers. Would never return, do not recommend.
Terrible cust service. Walked in, no acknowledgment. Guy that walked in behind me was served right away. First time here, not sure where to go so headed to the cashier after acknowledgment fiasco. Cashier w Yankees hat and Marijuana tattoo on wrist asks if I've been helped, I said no, sends me back to the line. By then, 3 people were waiting, had to force my way in there. Guy helped me w my bagel. Headed back to cashier to pay and noticed he helped that guy right away (went and got him his bagel and charged him on the spot). So with me, he sends me back to the line but w the next customer, gets him his food and he gets to pay right away? Outrageous. Won't be coming back
