Opinions de Marie Callender's Los Angeles
It is definitely not "haute cuisine", but it is great "comfort cuisine". An old school place where the servers have been there for years and greet you like old friends. And as we all know, the pies are superb. They also have family dinners for takeout, on those days when you just can't face the oven.
I absolutely love everything about Marie Callender's!! This location has tons of charm, the staff treat you like family and the food is great. I personally love the meatloaf and the turkey dinner, always add a side salad. If you have room, there is a wide variety of homemade pies that you can by the slice or tin.
A nice cozy little restaurant where you can just go and relax. Classic comfort food. Friendly staff and a calming atmosphere. I love coming here for the pies! Absolutely delicious every time!!
Forgot how much I loved this place! Great service, clean, friendly staff. The potato cheese soup is as fabulous as I always remembered it. And the pot pie was delicious and so much better than the store bought ones. Please reopen on the Central Coast.
They could have hired back some of the people that they laid-off, the young worker's needed the help. Overall the food was good. I purchased the $59 family deal. Pot roast meat and mashed potatoes good, just wish we had more vegetables , it was really just a handful.
The food was plentiful and has improved since Covid lockdown, for a early Thursday evening, it wasn't too crowded. My friend had a birthday dinner and got a free slice of pie. Good waitress and the place is very clean.
I love coming here with my best friend. This is our favorite place to chat at and catch up because life gets to bussy sometimes. So we sit and enjoy our meal. The staff are great and so polite. Marie Callender's has great pies and muffins.
My wife and I have claimed this place as our official neighborhood diner. We loved it! The gentleman at the door was very welcoming and Shirley, our waitress, was great! The food was amazing.
Marie Calenders is always a good choice. Whether your craving a hearty breakfast or dinner. Stopped by for breakfast and got the usual, pancakes, eggs and sausage. Can never go wrong with a traditional breakfast. The waiter was friendly and offered our table complimentary muffins.
Love going to rig calendars been going there since I was a child their pies are super good. The chicken pot pies are really tasty the cornbread they do have great deals there. The waiters and waitresses are very friendly highly recommend for family night out.
I hope this place never goes out of business! Marie Calendars is the only local restaraunt that serves Thankgiving turkey and chicken potpies dinner all year. The pies are fresh as a daisy. 🌻 Don't sleep on MC's! P.s. the parking lot it always packed
Came in tonight to purchase pie and a burger to go. Service at the counter was excellent. My waiter was quick with service..my meal to go took less than 10 minutes..and 15 min later I was eating a delicious..cheeseburger and fries. I normally eat salads and veggies and stay away from meat...It going to be hard to resist giving in to an urge for another buger. Thanks Marie callenders.😉
They have the best Turkey dinner . The gravy is perfect not too salty just the right thickness. the cranberry sauce has a slight bitterness to it amazing. I always order extra.and all the staff are always helpful grate service thank you :)
Great for inexpensive, family dining. Great menu with a wide variety of options - the local menu has even better deals! Service was friendly and waitress treated us well. Carpet could benefit from a deep-cleaning or replacement. Pro Tip: Join their e-club and you'll get a coupon valid for 20% off your next check PLUS virtually every Wednesday, you'll be emailed a coupon for buy one entree, get one free (with the purchase of 2 beverages) Highly recommend the salad bar, too.
How dare I not comment here when it is one of my favorite places???? This is a very quiet nice place where you can find plenty of delicious food. The place has very comfortable seats, and a contemporary style, medium lighted. And about the food, we asked for the chicken pot pie with Caesar's salad mixed with a exquisite dressing. They offered very good corn bread, and finally the speciality of the house: Pie!!! It's good to mention that as a coffee lover, I enjoyed it so much. The lemon cream cheese it's something else!!!!! And of course the server that were helping us, Mrs. Barbara, she is wonderful!!! Well, I can openly invite all people to come by this warm nice place, and I think you won't regret, because the food is healthy and tasty. And the price is affordable! My update is that Anthony is the best server ever, he has an incredible customer service!!!
It was very busy & I waited to be seated. It was worth the wait. The food was delicious, service was very good. It's been there many years, for good reason. I had to finish with my German Chocolate pie, Sadly, I live in San Diego & most of Maries' have closed. I am so glad I was able to go with a friend to this LA one. PS The Bacon Quiche was sooo good.
Nice and decent neighborhood kichen, frindly staff.
I bought two pies for Thanksgiving. Apple pie was delicious as well as the chocolate pie. Best place for pies!! Order was done online and the pick up was smooth. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for pies
I love these people… what can I say other than bravo. Always there. Always good. Always available when you need them. Last minute or not… it’s great. Best pie is Kahlúa cream… best fruit is Apple… they’re great………….:.:::::…… Just try them out for a nice evening………………….. What do you have to lose???????????? I say it’s my favorite pie shop…………. What do you think???????
Favorite family restaurant. Good food, good value, good service. Been eating here since our youngest was a baby. Edit - six years later, kids are all grown and gone. But I still like coming here.
This place is great. We were here only once and ate breakfast, it was excellent. We ordered Benedicts and muffins. Everything was fresh and tasty. We had to wait in line to eat here, looks like that place if very popular. We also saw that many people bought pies here, looks like they made them very good here. But we did not have a chance to try them. Maybe next time :).
Wonderful staff . Food soo good. Since we do not have any location in the valley we went and picked up our Thanksgiving dinner and extra pies . Such organized and service. Thank you all Great food we enjoyed it . Happy Thanksgiving to one and all
Thanksgiving at Marie Callender’s was nothing short of a culinary adventure, and I can’t help but share the delightful experience. From the moment I stepped in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and rich with that unmistakable feeling of a family gathering. The Thanksgiving spread was a feast for the senses – each dish meticulously prepared, showcasing the true essence of a Thanksgiving meal. Now, let’s talk pies. Marie Callender’s takes the pie game to a whole new level. I couldn’t resist grabbing one for my mom, and it turned out to be the star of the show. The layers of flavor, the perfect crust – it was a slice of heaven on every plate. But beyond the food, it’s the attention to detail and the dedication of the staff that made the experience exceptional. They didn’t just serve a meal; they created a memory. So, a heartfelt thank you to Marie Callender’s for turning a holiday dinner into a cherished moment. Your commitment to culinary excellence and warmth is truly appreciated. 🥧✨ #MarieCallenders #ThanksgivingFeast #CulinaryMemories
I came here for breakfast with my friend and the booth was a little bit tight and we told the woman and she had no problem letting us sit in a bigger booth. They had eggs with hash browns, meat and toast listed on the menu. I told the woman I do not eat pork and she was very accommodating and she let me have two scrambled eggs with hash browns and toast at the same price instead. I left feeling very satisfied internally as far as eating goes. I also felt satisfied with the way this waitress treated us.
Very attentive service and to-die-for pies
Forget about the frozen pies and come try the real deal. The chicken pot and shepherds pie are our favorites. Service at this location is superb. Staff is friendly and service oriented. We will keep coming back!
Great food, and the service is excellent! And, of course, there's nothing like their pies. Fresh strawberry in season and check out their pie of the month.
Exactly what you'd expect from a Marie Callendars diner. Had the chicken pot pie and it was flaky, though a bit watery. The salad and pie were quite tasty when paired with the pot pie. Could become a regular brunch spot as it appeared already to be for many there.
One of the last remaining family style diners on the Westside. A neighborhood gem that consistently provides quality food, service and specials. At todays prices they still offer good value. Known for their excellent pies, Highly recommend!
We ate a delicious breakfast. Hot ☕️ coffees. Traditional eggs Benedict, hash browns & white toast. French quiche with bacon, melted cheeses, fresh fruit cup & pineapple coconut muffin. Booth seating. Comfortable. Friendly service. Whole berry pie 🥧 on-sale to-go. Yum! We eat at Marie Callender's restaurant, West Los Angeles, California 12 - 24 times yearly for many years.
Excellent experience! Food was great! Loved the pie/pie 🥧 combo You get a chicken or beef pie with salad and pie Great deal! Service was absolutely excellent!! Sandra was accommodating, sweet, friendly, quick and fun to interact with! She was absolutely amazing! Super happy with our experience! And love pie month! 🥧🥧🥧😁
Really delicious and friendly service, slightly old school menu which I like. Props for the counter seating, I love sitting at counters and fewer and fewer places have this. Basically an awesome tradition Americana menu with amazing cornbread. Good prices as well. There was a slight wait which is understandable!
I needed to pick up a couple of pies last second for Thanksgiving. These guys are obviously pros at this season. Had an excellent well spaced line for people to order and the line moved fast. Manager/owner (not sure) very kind and helpful guiding people to proper line. Got the pies I needed (pumpkin and pecan) with no troubles. Everyone working there was awesome! Great people, great experience, great place!
Good. The older yt people look at me, Hispanic, weird but the employees are great
We were so impressed with the breakfasts at this restaurant that we ate there three times in 8 days ! Very fast , friendly service and an attention to cleanliness made the experience even better. There are so many delicious items to choose from and portions are large so bring your appetite. Breakfast specials are available daily making prices very reasonable for the food offered. Special mention goes to the fluffy , thick pancakes and the shredded hashbrowns. This is a great family friendly spot . The extraordinary thing about this restaurant is the bakery section. Fresh pies are baked daily , over 20 flavors to choose from , as well as a large variety of enormous muffins and other baked goods. Full supper menus are also available . Enjoy the comfortable booths and a food experience worth returning to often.
Great service. And delicious food.easy parking
The service was great as well as the food. I ordered the chicken pot pie, cornbread, side salad, and the chocolate cream pie. Definitely will be going back
We love to pick up pies for friends and on special occasions. We also dine in from time to time. Alberto, Taka & Andrea are all wonderful taking the time to make each visit special. The parking may seem limited but there's plenty to the right of the restaurant in the lot. During weekends it can be busy if you're impatient ahead over the phone to order to go.
Heidi is the best waitress, hands down. She is our favorite. If she is there, then you should request to sit in her station. Great service, good with kids, super sweet and quick too. I would come back just for her. The best!
Very friendly and professional love the lemon meringue pie
Ever get a chance, go visit. It's one of the last restaurant in that chain...Cornbread is fabulous. Staff is great...
I love the customer service I receive every time I go there. Their Veggie Club Sandwich is amazing. And finally it’s Marie Calendar’s, so you can’t forget to complement their pies. If you want great food and wonderful customer service then you have to go to this location on National Blvd in Los Angeles.
Love eating here because of the friendly atmosphere and service. The food is great too. Their burgers (avocado, onions, cheese with bacon) and real onion rings are so-o good. They are also famous for their cornbread, and getting a piece of it with one's meal is a must. They serve it with a side of whipped butter. My family love their many selection of pies. Sometimes, they even run out of their popular pies and muffins. Can't blame them because a lot of customers like their baked goods, too. I will also get their apple pies for work as a special treat. My co-workers (even my boss) will polished these pies off so fast because they are that good. I always get asked where I got these pies from. They all love Marie Callendar's freshly baked apple pies.
Love this place. Lovely Asian server helped me get 2 slices, 6 muffins and lots of smiles. She had me laughing, was so patient and extremely knowledgeable. I can't wait to see her again
This is a local place to meet and eat good food. Many of the tables were being occupied by locals hanging out and enjoying the atmosphere. The service was exceptional. The manager has a great report with all the guests. She made everyone feel special.
Michelle, who works at Marie Callender's Reataurant in West Los Angeles, treats customers just like family. I had not been there in awhile, but my welcome back greeting could not have been warmer nor more genuine. On top of that, the food was fresh, hot, tasty and delicious. Thank you for your excellence and your great customer service.
We loved the pies, especially the apple pie. So yum! We also ordered a few breakfast dishes. The portions were generous and everything tasted great. It’s classic comfort food that really feels like mom’s cooking, super nostalgic. 🥧✨
I went for the legendary chicken pot pie. Lived up to expectations. Only minor thing is that there could be more homogeneity across Marie Callender locations: the same order in two different restaurants leads to different portion sizes and slight flavor variations
My daughter Jasmine my husband and I are having an early dinner here at Murray call ? I have always loved their meatloaf dinners and they're warm delicious cornbread ! I grew up just a few blocks from the very famous family restaurant lots of church memories
I and my three friends had lunch at your restaurant the Sunday before Thanksgiving and our waiter, Mauricio, was fabulous! He got our order correct and when he brought our meals he had all all the plates lined up on his arms - and knew exactly who had what! He was very attentive to us during our entire visit and provided us with excellent service! And he did so with professionalism and kindness. Five stars go to Mauricio as he is a great asset to the restaurant! We'll be back!
They had a seasonal pie. Pumpkin Cheese Cream Pie. It was perfect, not too sweet and light. Delicious! They only have it for a very short time. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas Seasons. ******** Had to come to Marie Callender's. Their chicken fettuccine and turkey dinner were DELICIOUS!! The pies are amazing! Love their friendly service. Enjoy their muffin special too! ****** We had a taste for their Turkey dinner and their Avocado Cheese Burger (added Bacon 🥓) with French Fries. For dessert, we had a slice of their Peacan pie and Custard pie. Oh, was everything tasted great! 😋 ************ Enjoyed dining in at Marie Callender's. Had their meatloaf dinner and the chicken with artichokes on seasoned rice. Love their cornbread. Everything was SO delicious. The dinners also came with a slice of their freshly baked pies. All of their pies are great! Our favorite pies are their lemon cream cheese, pecan, custard, lemon meringue, and their pumpkin. While dining, it was so nice to see how they constantly had non-stop traffic of people coming in just to purchase one (sometimes two) of their delicious freshly baked pies. Marie Callender's have the BEST pies!
I adore the staff, they are warm and friendly, as well as attentive and quick. They are like happy little bumblebees buzzing around serving up delicious honey. I love going to this restaurant, no matter what troubles life is dishing out, it is a place to go where everything is perfect. The breakfast specials are the best here on the Westside. Delicious and reasonably affordable for a person on a budget. Last but not least the food is really good quality!
I have been looking for a place that served beef meatloaf with BROWN gravy! Marie’s did not disappoint!! Ooo so flavorful! I thoroughly enjoyed that bit of comfort!! The mashed potatoes were yummy and the sweet cornbread made me think of my own! The portions were ample and I took half home, except for the veggies. AND the dinner comes with PIE! 🥧 I had 🍒 cherry! Warmed! 😋
This is my first time at Marie Callender’s restaurant. I’ve enjoyed their chicken pot pies from the grocery store for years. Stopped by before my flight to Europe out of LAX. I was greeted with an enthusiastic hello from the manager, and then shortly after a kind and warm greeting from the waitress. The food was warm, tasty and felt like the perfect home-cooked meal from grandma’s kitchen, it was the customer service and happiness that I experienced that left the biggest impression! They even surprised me with a carrot pecan muffin to go for my long trip. Wow! ❤️
This location is for more of the elderly folk. The inside seating is like an old cottage house. Now the pie is always what they are known for, still the bestest. I order the split peas soup and yes it hit the warm part of my tummy. Now if you sign up for their club you get well needed coupons, that will really make your day. Marie Callender's will always be a spot in my 💕
We opted for Marie Callender’s for sides and pies this year. Best decision we made. We cooked a brisket to go alongside but we weren’t feeding many people so we didn’t need to cook the traditional fare. We got the stuffing (holy moly this was delicious), the mac and cheese (also delicious) and three pies: banana cream, pumpkin, and apple. Save your money on the pumpkin - it’s yummy but you’ve had better and you’ll keep comparing it. The apple and banana cream, however, were exceptional. Do yourself a favor and get these two. Their Thanksgiving system was awesome. Pickup on Thursday morning was a breeze. 10/10, 5/5, 100/100 whatever your scoring system, they win.
Best & most reasonably priced breakfast place in West LA! I only go for the breakfast & of course they have awesome pies for the holidays or special occasions! As far as breakfast, like most good breakfast places, get there early bc it does get a bit crowded; but the wait is never too long. The servers & hosts are friendly & on it! Highly recommend! I like the 2x2x2 breakfast special, two: eggs, bacon & pancakes for about $10 & it’s good! 👍🏼
Comfort food at its best. Most meals come with pie!!! Hard to beat this place.
This Marie Callender's, where I ate lunch with a friend, had good food. The service was average, but my dish of steak and shrimp was very tasty, and the steak was cooked rare, to my liking. It came with garlic toast, which was pretty good but a little bit dry. For dessert, I had a piece of custard pie, and it was moist and delicious. My friend add a piece of lemon meringue pie for his dessert, but it came with his meal because he got a pot pie meal. I'm sure his dessert was very good. I purchased a couple of pies after the meal, and my husband and I have been eating those at home. One is a French apple pie, and the other one is a German chocolate pie. Of course, both of them are very rich, but they have great flavor, which makes them hard to eat in moderation!
It was pretty empty when I went there. I'm not sure if they're doing in person dining yet. I got a pie, so I'm also not sure how the food itself is. But the pies are great! Quick and ready to go. I'm never disappointed by a Marie Calendars pie.
It's a delicious experience to go there but the last time we went, and it was for my mother's birthday, they sat us down at a corner table and completely forgot about us. We waited about 15 minutes and when we saw there was not going to be any waiter/waitress that was even assigned to our side of the dining room, we decided to just go. We're not ones to argue much less make a scene. We felt bad enough that we were just forgotten there in our corner that going to argue to bet service was kind of adding more humiliation to that. We will go again because it's delicious but I can't say it's going to be a first choice when we are thinking of going out to dinner.
It's weird. I don't always have Marie Callender's on my mind when thinking of dinner out, but I always enjoy my experience there. The food is always good, and so is the service. It's always a pleasant time. It's so normal and not exciting. But sometimes that's the best way to enjoy a meal and your time with company. And pie is always an excellent dessert choice.
Today I picked up pre-ordered/prepaid pies. The line was around the corner until you reach Starbucks. It went quickly and the people were organized, friendly and courteous. Luckily even the customers were understanding and no complaints or outburst. What a way to start Thanksgiving...we are all blessed and thankful that we can come together and work together on this special day.
Just about like home cooking. Food is good. If you like American style cooking this is one of the best. Omelets and Burgers are yummy. Service usually friendly and courteous, but yesterday lunch was shocked by the behavior of our waitress. Started well, joked around, laughed a lot and out of the blue, her behavior became very aggressive and literally through the check at my face. I have her name...but will keep to myself. Still gave her 18% tip....maybe she had a bad night.😜
It was pretty quite when I arrived but the server was attentive and made the experience much more pleasurable. Food is good but nothing to spectacular the pies are always great. Definitely recommend it for a relaxing bite to eat.
Have not been to Marie's for the longest and forgot what it was like. Ordered shepherd's pie for the first time and it was really good. The ingredients were fresh and loved that it was hot and it comes with salad and pie. Our waiter was really hospitable and he did an amazing job. My group was satisfied and happy with his service. We had an awesome time and do recommend this place. It is always a pleasure when you dine at a place like this. But even better that after buying a strawberry pie to carry out the CASHIER would smile while looking at you, thanks you and wishes you a good evening. Could happen next time. But thank you.
Very good service, good food and good enough atmosphere. Most often i would get a hamburger coffee and slice of pie. But I have tried a variety of other dishes and all of them were worth eating. The food taste and quality is dependable. Prices are ok, not too high but not a special bargain. Easy parking.
Great vegetable soup and Caesar salad but the rest is heart attack food! No sugar free pies for diabetics. Unhealthy food for stress eating!
Love quiche and very few places make it well. Would have been 5 stars but was heated a bit too much. Server was great, friendly; quick and accomodating. Lastly, pies are amazing and that too is hard to find these days!
This restaurant is great for a moderately priced, home style meal, especially for dessert lovers! The customer service is exceptional & the employees are genuinely friendly, hospitable & will go out of their way to accommodate you. The prices are affordable & the food is great in relation to the cost. My only complaint is due to their limited menu options.. Being that 'Marie Callender's' is such a well known brand that sells such a wide array of grocery items, (Frozen dinners, frozen entrees, side dishes, appetizers, multi-serve meals, ready serve pies & other desserts) I would assume that their restaurant would offer that same variety, yet, their menu is very limited. 😠 If you want to experience all the different recipes that Marie Callender's' has to offer, then you are better off using the frozen food isle, at your local grocery chain store, as a reference for your checklist!
Yucky split pea soup. Alright chicken pot pie - although I do prefer their frozen one available at grocery stores. Scrumptious pumpkin cupcake/muffin slathered with yummy cream cheese frosting!
A staff member told us this particular restaurant has been around for a bit, but don't let the older yet familiar setting, or the older crowd fool you. This is the place for a nice sit down eating experience, especially the famous desserts. It was worth leaving the fast lane of life to eat here. Again, the desserts!
I’ve been eating at Marie Callender’s since I was a kid so this is a nostalgic place for me. I will say the quality of food has declined from where it used to be years ago, but still, it was an enjoyable meal for us. The interiors looked just like it looked from back when I was a kid so you really feel like you are transported in time dining here. We had not been to a location in about seven years or more, so it was nice to try it again. It’s very well-known to have a lot of senior diners and I can say for my visit last night that it is still the same, a majority of the diners were retired. They have a fairly large parking lot so parking is easy and plentiful. Our server was also very polite and even though it took quite a bit for our food items to come out she did a great job. Marie Callender’s is known for their pies, so we chose to end our meal with the Strawberry and Cream Pie and the Custard Pie. Between the two, the Strawberry and Cream pie was my favorite, but overall the Cherry Pie is still my top favorite. For my entrée, I chose the Spicy Ortega Chicken Sandwich on Parmesan Sourdough and thought it was actually very good. Was better than I was expecting and I would recommend it. Overall pricing is pretty fair and there are a ton of options on the menu so it would be a good option if you are in the mood for some classic casual American food.
Would've been a five if my pie was colder. And We had a couple more napkins as lunch got messy. But service was quick and food was delicious. Covid safety observed. We got the turkey club with onion rings ...and mini pot pie with a side Caesar salad and a slice of double cream lemon pie. Crust on both were so flaky yum
First visit in over 15 years. The salad and pie were good but the chicken broccoli Alfredo lacked that great taste that made it my go-to years ago. Garlic toast was flavorful albeit a bit cold for my liking, the service was friendly and maybe short on staff.
I used to love this place before the pandemic. My favorite twin servers are gone --- but the new guy is VERY personable so he's got potential to fill their shoes. However I went back Tue before Thanksgiving and they decided to close the dine-in! VERY annoying to arrange for ppl to meet you there - but they're only doing take out. Ggrrrr. Overall the facility could use a face-lift... it is not fully ADA compliant, but other than the restrooms you can make do with table inaccessibility. The food is still pretty good - and the staff seems top notch.
The pie is the best part of this place and the only reason I come here. The actual food is not very appealing and I think that's why it's usually empty. Everytime I come to this restaurant there is always more of a older crowd and music from the 50s-80s. I'm okay with the "grandmas house" atmosphere because I don't like large crowds, I enjoy the music and there is no loud chatting. I recommend this restaurant if you enjoy pie, no large crowds and have no interest in a actual meal.
Picked up a pre-ordered Thanksgiving meal and pie. Was given the wrong pie and the lids don't actually fit the plastic containers the food comes in. When I went back to exchange the pie, the staff didn't even say sorry. If I have to drive back to make it right, a basic apology would have been appreciated. Food was decent for take out although the stuffing was a bit dry.
Definitely NOT the Marie Callender's we used to know and love. For starters, their fsmous cornbread was downright awful. Nowhere near where it used to be. The entree was only a tad better. Overall, pretty tasteless. The French Apple Pie was their only saving grace.
I haven't been here for a good while. It somehow changed as far as service & servers are concerned. They seem to be detached. What I mean by that is that they appear to just go through what the day to day brings. No warmth or welcoming feeling when you get in. They just tell you to go & sit yourself. I ordered an open face hot turkey sandwich that came with a small serving of mashed potatoes & a very tiny plastic container of cranberry sauce. I told the server I would definitely need more than that, he brought another one of the teeny tiny plastic container & proceeded to tell me that if I asked for another one, I will be charged. The turkey is not tender. It's a little chewy & dry. They never brought the garlic bread that comes with it. I remembered to ask for it towards the end of my meal. That's the only time the server remembered he hasn't brought it. Also, they absolutely do NOT allow any substitution at all at any time. Now I remember why I haven't been back here for many years. The only reason I was here was to order fresh peach pie to take to a friend's house. To be honest, I was surprised they are still open for business. And if they eventually close for business... I wouldn't be surprised either.
My meal came with free cornbread. I asked for another slice. Got the bill and I was charged for the cornbread. I've never been charged for extra cornbread. So I didn't buy dessert. Not coming back to this location.
Why does your banana cream pie have no actual bananas? Maybe you should visit the Apple Pan & try to come close to theirs. Plus - your corn bread was quite stale. Guess I should know better than ordering delivery on a Sunday. 🤦
My server was a nice lady. I didn’t get her name, the food was ok. The manager was friendly when we were checking in, but not so friendly when we asked to change the pie we got…no one liked it and wanted to eat it. So I asked to change it, he said he will do it this time. But wasn’t happy about it.
Well it's St. Patrick's day ,And my Mother who is in her 80's was craving Corned beef and cabbage, with carrot's. The Corned Beef and carrots were cold. And when I complained to the owner? He told the waitress to handle it! Instead of offering a new hot plate? She wants to microwave the food🤢 No thanks, And didn't offer to it take off bill, It was hardly eaten and left there on the table. Lost a lot of customers today, I told the parton's waiting about our experience. Terrible Ownership and Management! F-
I had breakfast here on the weekend. I was invited as part of a bigger group. First, the waiter behind the counter was very rude. But that was not the big issue. The food was decent. Everything was Ok until we left the restaurant. Then the waiter who was waiting chased us and asked if we signed the merchant copy instead of our copy. Of course we signed the merchant copy. Then he said did you left a tip? My aunt left 20% tip. She said yes she did. He said Ok I thought you were the other table. If I was paying, I would have gone back and changed the tip to zero. The food was OK but terrible service.
The pies are TERRIBLE...these are not pies, they are puddings of excessive corn starch in shells...im SO TERRIBLY DISAPPOINTED. DONOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I AM SO UPSET BC I KNEW I SHLD HAVE WENT TO HOUSE OF PIES. We got the chocolate cream and the double cream blueberry. But these are not cream pies.they are cornstarch pudding pies. i am disgusted. pie is my favorite food and this has made me NEVER want pie again.
The receptionist is selective about who she will be nice to, the food is tasteless and the bread and muffins are very dry and only taste like corn syrup, the bathrooms are always dirty and it is obvious that they only survive because of the elderly people who are used to and resigned to always going to the same place and the workers don't even try anymore.
Food was good, however service was not, place needs a major upgrade
Had to wait over 30 minutes to grab a table. I had to ask several times how much longer we were going to wait. We were a party of 4. We never got a table so we left. It was my daughter's bday and they ruined it.
We were extremely disappointed with our visit Saturday night to the West LA Marie Calender location. I had been looking forward to coming here for dinner in awhile since there aren't many locations left. There was a list of things that went wrong from the start. The waitress took quite awhile to approach our table (10 to 15 minutes had passed). Next, my soup was luke warm/cold when it was delivered, I had to go to the counter and look for her (around 10 minutes or so after dropping off the soup). My sister's meal (turkey dinner sandwich) was also on the cold side after it was dropped off. The waitress also forgot to bring the salad before the food was delivered and when I brought it up the waitress she was rude about it. Along with not bringing the salad before the meal, I had to find the waitress yet again for refills and the cornbread, and garlic toast that was ordered with the meal. After all this, I finally approached a manager. She was nice, however nothing was done to makeup for the horrible service and food situation. Perhaps this only happens at night at this location. My experience had always been pleasant during the week during lunch hours. Very disappointed to say the least
