Fantastic old school 50's style dinner with just the right amount of kitsch. Food is your standard diner fare and they're open 24/7 with locations throughout southern California. We went to the west Hollywood location. I was hungry and forgot to take pictures of the food, but it was great!

Only waited 5 minutes we requested a booth. Good food, service was great, although they did not honor my 3 coupons $10 off, per person, per order. Wouldn’t that be 3 dishes, 3 orders and there was 3 of us. Anyway, I passed them forward, 2 unused coupons to the other customers. They were nicely surprised a stranger gave them $10. Very clean restaurant. I would come here again.

We would highly recommend Norms. We visited 3 times in the space of 48 hours - twice for breakfast and then for dinner The food was excellent as was the service we received from Tanya, Lucy and Flora. Compared to other restaurants in the area it offered incredible value for money. If we came back to visit LA we would make a point of coming here for breakfast.

Feels like a knock off Dennys but it was soooo much better. Had the sampler platter and everything was fried absolutely perfectly!!! I've never eaten at a place where this has happened. Usually the chicken is dry and the onion rings are very crunchy. Here the chicken was moist, and the onion rings were crispy but not fall apart crunchy. You can't beat the prices either!!!! This is now one of my 2 go to spots in the LA area!!!! Our waitress, Lucy, was the sweetest most helpful and attentive waitress We've had in years! Cannot recommend this place enough and no, this is not a paid comment it's legit!!!

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the door is somewhat broken and was slamming every 3-5 min. Their waitresses are very attentive and the food was delicious. Enjoy.

I went this past weekend. I had the jalapeno burger and honestly it was very tasty, The waiter gave me a little bit of fries but i was vocal about it and they brought me an extra mini plate so i appreciated that. Honestly the pricing for meals and entrees are really good they dont skimp on the patty size. My only gripe is that when you pay the receipt they give you doesnt display wording as in it wont verbally display for example $15.99 mozerella sticks platter on the receipt when you go up to pay so thats something they should fix because it honestly just has numbers nothing more detailed but other than that the place is fast in serving and accomidable as well as meal proportions so all in all its great.

We had a lovely lunch, and my mom, who has Parkinson's, was asked where we would like to sit. We were able to pick a beautiful spot close to the restroom and away from traffic. The server was fast and very caring. My mom had a sandwich, and I had a lovely meal. It was a pretty entertaining place to eat. Service was quick, food was hot.

I stopped by Norms around 5am and really enjoyed the quiet, peaceful vibe before the morning rush. I sat at the counter and ordered a stack of pancakes — they came out hot and fast, just the way I like them. My coffee cup was never empty, thanks to the super friendly overnight staff. Big shout out to the crew holding it down in those early hours! 🙌 There was also a security guard on-site, which added a nice sense of safety to the experience. The only reason I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars is the price — it’s definitely crept up over the years. 🫢 But overall, I’ll definitely be back for that early morning calm and great service.

Service: First off I want to say that our server Maricela was lovely. Checked in on us the right amount, brought out drinks and appetizers very quickly, had a great intuition for when we were ready to order. The young girl at the cashier did not understand when we asked to get a slice of pie to go. This was in addition to our meal (after we already had paid). She ended up telling us to wait while fetching our server (?) who thought we already paid for the pie at the register. No ma’am. For anyone who has ever worked at a restaurant, the hostess/cashier girl is also the takeout person. So I have no idea why this one did not know how to ring us up for an item that is obviously pre-made and easily fetched from the fridge. Another woman near the young lady also gave us a dirty look as we were waiting for our lovely server to come by again to do the dirty work for the girl. Food: Typical diner food, don’t expect the highest quality meat. It’s delicious when you’re starving, or want the experience. I have found that diner food quality varies wildly based on location and chef, and this one is solidly mid. The steak tasted like the cow suffered during its life. The pancakes were fantastic. The grilled onions were a little over done (too much char), but the grilled veggies were perfect. Hash browns would have been better if they reheated store bought from frozen. Bacon was okay. Word of caution: The tablets on the table charge $2.99 for playing games, but they also charge you if you merely press the game tab and want to look at what they have to offer (without opening a game). The manager ended up removing the charge, and he said it should have asked us 3 times before charging us anything. Well I can tell you that was not the case. Overall: A typical Norms, with nothing spectacular about it. The games are nice if you have kids but if you’re just an adult perusing around, be careful since they may charge you without you actually playing anything.

Norm’s used to be the leader for low prices, good quality and value for the money. Today Norms is the most expensive option in the restaurant venue they play within. If you look at their prices over the years, most have tripled, however the quality has declined. It’s sad the restaurant was empty compared to it’s olden days of being packed and bustling with customers. It’s hard to compete in this market, but you can’t offer the same products, service and quality for 3X the price and expect customers to be happy. All you’ve done is level the playing field with their competitors. Now there are better choices at a lower price point.

The food was okay, and the portions were definitely generous, which we appreciated. However, the lack of vegetarian options made it a bit difficult for our group to find something suitable. It would be great to see more variety on the menu for those who don’t eat meat. On a positive note, our waitress, a lovely Filipino lady, was incredibly sweet and provided excellent service. She made our experience much better! Overall, it was an okay visit, but we’d love to see more vegetarian-friendly options in the future.

The food is 50s diner food, it’s the location that makes it worth the trip. Norms on La Cienega thrives on atmosphere alone. The googie architecture shifts the whole environment from the angled booth, swooped ceilings, L-shaped counter seating and bright pops of orange. The service is done with a smile, fast, friendly and keeps that coffee flowing. It’s obvious why Norms is always packed, it a great place to be. As for the food, I unfortunately cannot share the same compliments. The hotcakes are the star — fluffy, buttery, well salted and melt in your mouth delicious. The biscuits and gravy were odd. Starting with the biscuits, they ate like sand because of how grainy they are; literally dissolving in your mouth. The gravy was well peppered — I’ll give it that — but didn’t have any remarkable taste outside of that. The hash browns left so much to be desired. They were unseasoned and undercooked. There was no crisp to them and were just lumped together shredded potatoes with nothing holding them together. The main courses were good. The vegetables on the veggie omelette were not mush so they provided good textual variation between the soft mushrooms and the crunchy bell peppers. The cheese was just kind of there and the whole thing could have used some extra seasoning — just salt and pepper would have gone a long way. The Lumberjack Breakfast was just pig meat on a plate. The bacon was bacon. The sausage was just like a Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage and the eggs were well done over-easy. Overall, while Norms didn’t have the best food, I’d still recommend people check it out to experience and keep this beloved institution alive.

Wouldn’t eat here again. I got steak and eggs. Eggs were watery/snotty, filling my plate with a weird watery substance. Can’t quite figure this out. Were the eggs old or did they steam or boil my eggs? Hashbrowns were a big pile with almost no crispiness. Steak sucked but that’s how breakfast steak is. Service was fine but not good or friendly. Bad coffee.

This place used to be one of my favorites, until last week when we were served by a waitress with very poor customer service. She took our order and never came back to check on us or ask if we needed anything else until we had to ask for the check ourselves. Today I returned, and unfortunately the same bad experience happened again with the same waitress. The service was very poor and her attitude completely unacceptable. She brought one check to the table, but when we went to pay at the cashier, they gave us a different bill. When I mentioned that she should at least acknowledge her mistake, she was very rude, arrogant, and unprofessional. The food is good, the prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is calm. However, as long as that waitress continues working there, I will not return. I will also share my experience with friends and family so they don’t have to go through the same bad experience I did.
