Opinions de The Brothers Sushi Los Angeles
Exceptional as always. A last minute plan B sushi delivery for a house birthday dinner party turned out just as wonderful as it could be. Plan A sushi caterer messed up his scheduling and no show for a 16-people milestone birthday party which was unacceptable! The Brothers saved our party! Thank you.
Disclaimer: I'm not a foodie and have desire to be. Yes, I took a few pictures while at Brothers, but only because 1. We were celebrating a birthday and 2. It's the fanciest sushi place I've ever been. Otherwise, I'm not someone to take pictures of my food; I like to eat food. I should probably also add that this review comes from the perspective of someone who rarely splurges on food. I'm the type of person to decline a fountain drink because "we have drinks at home". Having said that; even if Google hadn't chased me down to review Brothers Sushi, I likely would have. It was a food experience like I've never had before. Like I said, we went for my birthday, so my girlfriend suggested that we buckle in and go for the Omakase--you know that thing in movies where the rich people just tell the chef to give them whatever is good? It's pretty much that. I won't list every name and detail of each course we had, but I will say: after finishing the first offering (a baby kale salad featuring scallops, shaved truffles, some type of mushroom I've never had, and aged persimmon with a miso dressing), I had to text my chef buddy like "ohhh ok bro, I get it now". If you would have told me before we went that we would be spending as much as we did, for roughly half the portions of sushi that I typically shovel down my throat at the local sushi restaurant, I'd likely have told you that you're out of your mind... But both my girlfriend and I left that place glowing and floating and full, as glad that we went there as if we had just visited some new country or listened to our favorite band in concert for our first time. This place is special. I'm going to save up and go again ASAP.
The brothers is a must try if you’re in the valley. Mark took his 10+ years of sushi experience to craft his own flare while not straying from traditional Japanese flavors. He additionally leveraged his access to sushi suppliers to bring high quality fish into his newly opened sushi bar. You’ll find everything from A5 wagyu to “special” anago flown in from Japan. Tossed in the photos of the bathroom to show the level of detail Mark has shown with his Japanese style toilets 😍 A new hidden gem in the sfv.
One of my favorite sushi spots in the valley, maybe even the best. The appetizers were creative and way more delicious than even expected, plus they serve the best piece of kohada that I have ever had. Little touches such as moist towelettes and a basket for your stuff (not to mention a bidet in the gender neutral bathrooms) really make you feel welcomed and pampered. And the service, wow! Splurge on one of the Omakase options - trust me, it's worth it.
Came here for lunch Omakasa not dinner Parking Since coming here during lunch, they ran in their small private parking lot, but I saw other people parking on Ventura Boulevard, which is paid metered parking Beautiful, clean, ambience, clean bathrooms, and wall taken care of for such a small intimate place Had the lunch omakase which is amazing, beautiful portions and presentation and obviously the toro was the best part of it The service from every team member here was amazing no issues well attentive, but not bothering you too much Would definitely come back here again and highly recommend making a reservation since it filled up fast for a short for such a short amount of time that they open, especially during lunch Note their Santa Monica location on Montana Street has the owner there on Tuesdays and Thursdays their menu in Woodland Hills is completely different than Santa Monica from what the chef told me
Chef Mark and his team do a fantastic job at this neighborhood sushi restaurant. The menu is full of interesting and seasonal items. But you do pay for the creative and fresh fish dishes. However, their take away chirashi is imo one of the best deals around with multiple slices of toro and uni.
This sushi place is one of the best in the san fernando valley area....... We were seated in the back patio but the ambience still gave a high end feeling. I went here for a girls night with a couple of other girls. The service was efficient and we loved the dessert so much the server brought us a box of pocky to snack on (it was in the "sand" of the dessert")
We had the lunchtime omakasi. Everything tasted incredible and the service was delightful. They offer a wide range of fish and the flavors are perfectly nuanced. This isn't somewhere you want to go if you like to drown your sushi in wasabi and soy sauce. This is for the true connoisseurs of quality Japanese food.
Great atmosphere and vibe. The food is delicious. I would recommend sticking with the sashimi and the sushi. The rolls were good but definitely not superior to other items on the menu. It's definitely pricey. For the two of us, including tip, it was $320.
10/10 exceptional sushi and service. Service was on point, super friendly, fast and helpful … and the fish was absolutely delicious. Will be back for to try the matcha tiramisu for dessert as we were too full this time. Thanks for the great dinner!
So lucky to find this place in an otherwise wasteland of chain restaurants and mediocrity. Unique seasonal menu that would make any patron homesick for Hokkaido or Toyama. Can't wait to return and try the dry-aged sushi.
This is the best sushi restaurant I’ve ever been to! While it is pretty pricey, the quality is amazing and the staff were all very friendly and attentive. The fish melts in your mouth and it’s some of the most delicious sushi and sashimi I’ve ever had.
The Brothers Sushi is my go-to for sushi. The fish is always incredibly fresh, beautifully prepared, and consistently amazing. Great service, great vibe— never disappoints.
Amazing Sushi. The freshest sushi 🍣 in Los Angeles. Looking forward to returning again soon.
Visited on 2/12 during noon. We had reservations but the restaurant wasn’t full. I really enjoyed their Chirashi bowl 12/10. It’s the best one i’ve had! Definitely would go back. I love how each fish speaks for itself. It was truly delicious! The salmon has so much flavor, the dry aged otoro melts in your mouth, and the uni tasted to fresh and creamy! The seasonal appetizer we tried hotaru Ika app 8/10, flying squid with eggplant. This was executed well. Eating the squid by itself has strong fishy taste but paired with all the eggplant and greens it balances out. Only con is how small this dish is. I would definitely go back just for the Chirashi bowl 6/10 Dobin chowder. The best way to describe this is very delicate soup. The soup itself was room temp to almost cold. The fish and mushroom in the soup are great quality but the soup itself was very thin. I would probably skip this next time 8/10 shrimp and seasonal vegetable tempura. Tempura was fried well and tasted like it was fried in new oil. Service is good. Our water was kept top off without being intrusive. We celebrated our 12 year anniversary and they gave us 9/10 cheesecake with icecream at the end. The cheesecake was delicious! Dense like NY cheesecake but 1/3rd of the size so its not too heavy. Have actual cheese flavor unlike other japanese cheesecakes.
Wow. I made a reservation knowing it's a good option in the valley. I had no idea it would be off the charts outstanding. Next-level quality of fish, clean menu with none of the "spicy mayo" nonsense rolls, amazing service and ambiance. It's a keeper and I Highly recommend. Pro tip: get the marinated roe sushi 🤯
Brothers sushi is very delicious and a wonderful treat. Located in an unassuming building it stands out as one of the most highly regarded sushi locations on this side of the valley. The service is top notch and the vibes/ambiance are right on the money. I enjoy my self every time I go.
5 stars in every department! The food is unmatched, and the team is incredible! The ambiance is chic and sophisticated, and the dishes are mind-blowing! I’ve never seen many of the unique dishes before, and of course, the standard dishes are made with premium fish and ingredients.
I’m Japanese from Tokyo and can say with confidence that Brother’s Sushi is the real deal! The fish is always super fresh and beautifully prepared. The best value here is definitely the Kaisen Chirashi Zushi - generous, delicious, and reminds me of home. One of the best sushi spots in LA!!
If you're looking for an unforgettable sushi experience, this spot is a must visit! The fresh sushi was absolutely delightful, and the omakase dishes were a true highlight—each one bursting with flavor. The service was not only prompt but also incredibly attentive, making the whole experience that much better. Definitely one of the best sushi places in San Fernando Valley!
This was our first time at The Brothers Sushi and it did not disappoint! We did the omakase experience, and while it was expensive, it fully delivered. We sat at the sushi bar, which only enhanced the experience with more interactions with the chefs behind the counter and other friendly patrons sitting next to us. All the dishes were artfully constructed with delicious flavors to match. Service was excellent and very attentive without being intrusive. Sushi was exceptional. We will definitely be coming back here to try other menu items and of course the incredible sushi.
Probably my favorite place to eat. The food is delicious, creative, and beautiful to look at. The staff are professional and friendly. I've been following the chef for close to twenty years now, from Chiba to Asanebo to his own restaurant, and he's destined to become a name in the sushi business. Excellent fish. Great taste. Outstanding menu, both in terms of selection and preparation. A must-visit restaurant for the sushi lover who wants to see some new ideas.
We usually order the sushi omakase because the fish is always amazing, whether dry-aged or prepared fresh with the perfect pickled toppings so that you never need soy sauce. The fried taro is also a great addition if you're extra hungry.
The best restaurant I’ve been to in the past year. Exceptional! The food is incredible, the service is amazing, and the location is lovely. Probably the best sushi I’ve ever had. Their sushi is perfectly prepared; it feels like you’re in Japan. There’s nothing else to say except that if you want to experience something unique and unbelievable, you need to try this restaurant. A solid 5 out of 5 stars!
The menu is well-prepared, the chef's skills are also good, the dishes are presented and taste great, everyone is very satisfied ~ The omakase set meal does not display sashimi. 6 pieces of sushi feel a little too much ~ I am a little full... In addition, the hairy crab is very fresh and sweet ~ The sake recommended by the waitress is also very delicious!
From the moment you arrive, greeted by the blue neon Sushi sign and tastefully playful mural outside the front door, the experience of The Brothers Sushi begins to spark joy. Every detail is curated to provide an exceptional dining journey that delights multiple senses and expands the mind of your mouth. The Sushi Omakase is the way to go. Let go of control for an evening and enjoy the culinary adventure of some of the most fresh and exquisite Sushi you will ever have the pleasure to savor.
Boyfriend and I went for the omakase and it was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. It's been about a month since we went and I still think about the food I ate there. Stuff was fantastic. Explained all the dishes. Everything is tasty and I mean EVERYTHING. One of the dishes (the one served in like a martini type glass) had this green leafy vegetable on top. I thought it was a garnish but no. I ate it and it was seriously delicious. Idk how they seasoned it or prepared it but it was very good. Loved this place.
Awesome full omakase with TEN courses, including nigiri highlighting their dry-aged fish which was flavorful and a good variety of six pieces along the various courses. The matcha Basque cheesecake was ethereal and truly delicious way to wrap up the series. Service was good and the food was great. Wish I had more room to try more of the wine and sake. Had a great glass of sauvignon blanc that helped round out a wonderful dining experience. Gladly recommend that folks consider the full omakase to savor the glorious food at Brothers Sushi.
I have to admit - location-wise I was not expecting to find such a gem of a sushi place here. Not only you get excellent ingredients (some of which are flown in from Japan) but creative arrangements and excellent service. I cannot recommend this place enough. Yes, it won't be likely the cheapest sushi place you can find around but it is very much worth it.
I recently dined for the first time at Brothers Sushi in Woodland Hills, CA, suggested by a local friend, and sharing my experience 🍣. Hidden in an unassuming yet charming spot, this is a delightful find for sushi lovers. Brothers Sushi takes pride in its array of seasonal fish imported directly from Japan, offering specialties like dry-aged bluefin tuna, Ora King Salmon from New Zealand. Looks to me that their commitment to sourcing not only the freshest but also some rare varieties of fish sets them apart. In my opinion, these are unseen in most Los Angeles sushi spots. Each dish is a creative and unique celebration of flavor, tantalizing the taste buds. They also have a large, high-quality selection of sake 🍶. Woodland Hills might not be on everyone's radar, but Brothers Sushi is definitely worth the trip. Whether you're a local or coming from further afield, the memory of their exquisitely crafted sushi will stay with you long after your meal. This top-notch culinary experience has me looking forward to my next visit. It's smart to make a reservation or at least call ahead to check availability – and rightly so, as I found out it's featured in the MICHELIN GUIDE 2023 🌟. Be prepared, though; it's a bit pricey. But, it's an investment in a memorable dining experience! 💸👌
My girlfriend and I have been coming to brother's sushi few times now and this is our favorite restaurant. We like that chefs are constantly evolving and offering new creative ways to enjoy sushi. brothers modern omakase was voted the best of LA and we think it is well deserved. Every dish we had so far is well thought out to be pleasing to the eye and delicious in the mouth. I think the fact they offer something different each time is the reason why we usually opt for modern omakase. If you want a great date night, go to brother sushi, order modern omakase for two and a bottle of Ken.
Great environment, friendly staff and extremely delicious sushi. We order the chef’s choice which we loved everything he served us. The little fried crab it’s a must have. Super exotic food. We’re definitely going back.

This sushi restaurant stands out as the best for so many reasons. I’ve been coming here for years, and the quality has never wavered. The food is always fresh and top tier, with a level of quality and craftsmanship that has honestly ruined sushi for me anywhere else—I can no longer step down to a lower tier. It’s just that delicious. On top of that, the service truly sets this place apart. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and treat you like family. The owner and managers create an environment where you don’t just come to eat—you come to connect, relax, and feel at home. Hands down, the best sushi experience around.

I’m a big sushi lover, and I had been looking forward to trying The Brothers Sushi for a while. The place is really cute — they have both indoor seating and a patio area where you can even bring your dog, which I thought was a nice touch. Now, just a heads up: the prices here are definitely on the high side. Most of the fish is dry-aged, which some people absolutely love — and if that’s your thing, then you’ve probably found the right spot. But personally, it wasn’t really for me. I’m more into simple, super fresh fish without too much of a twist. The flavors didn’t exactly wow me, and I found myself wishing for something a little more straightforward. That said, I’m glad I tried it, just to see what all the hype was about. I’m just sharing my honest experience — sorry if it’s not what you hoped to hear. Would I come back? Probably not, especially considering the price point.
Not impressed. Our party of 5 did the Sushi Omakase and the sushi was the worst. Lots of fishy hard cuts that didn’t taste fresh. The rest had very little flavor. Out of the 10 pieces, 3 were fishy Mackerel. Disgusting. The hand roll was also gross. 3 of us didn’t even eat it. The salad and appetizers were nice. Our server was sweet. I had booked the reservation way in advance but even though there were plenty of tables inside, they forced us to sit in the patio where we couldn’t watch the chefs prepare or have any interaction with them. The hostess was not nice and I would never go back here. Honestly, paying over 1000 for our night felt like a complete waste. I do not recommend going here.
Came for my wife’s birthday…because of online reviews…. I guess people around here haven’t been privileged to try places like Izakaya Osen on sunset which is my GOAT. Please take your business there as the price is equal if not lower but quality is 10 times better along with service. everything seemed overpriced for value of what you get vs quality … ruined the bday night with poor service, I’d happily pay if it was worth it but quality isn’t up to par with prices being that high and quality being that bad . We don’t recommend this place and won’t be returning .
