Opinions de Tokyo Fried Chicken Los Angeles
I’ll update later with better pictures because I forget to take the photo before eating their food. I’ve only done orders via Uber eats and so far it’s never missed. I highly recommend their Boneless Cheesling Chicken, Bone in Galbi chicken, & their waffle fries. The chicken is cooked to perfection & their ranch sauce really compliments their flavors. ***Update*** Cheeseling chicken still awesome and I recommend the Honey garlic wings too! Even as left overs it’s still delicious.
If you’re having chicken+beer cravings, this spot hits the mark. Their original fried chicken is perfectly crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside, even the white meat pieces. We got the half & half so we could also try their spicy fried chicken. Great flavor and again, great texture (not too spicy). They have a few choices for beer: blue moon, an IPA, Asahi, Sapporo. Great deal for a pitcher of any of these: $24. Our server was so nice and attentive. We’ll definitely return here!
If you like fried chicken you need to go here. Their chicken is so damn crispy and flavorful we even ate it refrigerated and still cold the next day and it was still crispy and flavorful! This place does it right. Unfortunately not all BB.Q chicken places are the same. Others were a miss compared to this location. I gotta say I absolutely hate LA, but this is one of the few placesi need to visit when in town. Cut out the guesswork, get the original crispy. Then you can try some other flavors. No need to waste your time on sides just stick to the chicken.

It wasn’t the BEST as I expected but it was very delicious.
Chicken was amazing! Had a bit of trouble getting attention from the person behind the counter to ask if our food was ready (it was, sitting on counter) and got no chopsticks, napkins, or sides (last time we got a small bit of pickled daikon or something and maybe that’s not normal but just a kind act that day because it took awhile for the food) but WOW the medium size was enough for both of us and the soy garlic is absolutely incredible. It smelled so good it was hard not to tear into on the short walk back home, love this place!!
The chicken wings were AMAZING!!!! The service was slow as hell, almost an hour to get our wings. Which seemed to much... but anyway... the cashier/waiter was nice
One of the best fried chicken options in LA. My favorite is the Honey Garlic Chicken options. They used to have a Creamy Carbonara Pasta! Unfortunately, they no longer offer it!

SHOULD TAKE OUT OR DELIVERY! Got the half fried chicken with their secret sauce for ~$19. It’s enough for 2 people, shouldn’t get any drink ‘cause save it for boba in little tokyo 😉 It’s really hot to dine-in and their AC didn’t work, the restroom wasn’t very clean either 😶

The floor was sticky and there was weird smell in the dining area. But the staff was friendly and food came out fast
I feel like in the past maybe the chicken was a bit over cooked and slightly dry to hard to eat ? Now it’s definitely softer and more pleasant to eat but I feel like the chicken is slightly undercooked, not raw as you can see from the photos just a bit pink and a little sketchy for my taste… I think they used to overcook it and now they undercooked it ? I hope they find their sweet spot for the boneless chicken.

This place has some really good chicken and used to be really cool. The food is good, but the service has gone down a bit. I came in to pick up my online order and this guy at the counter did not even look at me. I gave him a few minutes since he seemed busy putting together an order or two. I realized he tried to do anything else but address that I was even in the restaurant. He even came out into the lobby and walked past me to grab something. I just stood there baffled at the fact that he was actively ignoring me. Someone else walked in shortly and he addressed them immediately. If these are the kinds of people working at this establishment, I will not be returning to this one specifically. Only reason I give it a 3 is because of how good the chicken usually is.

Terrible service here, we only ordered a small chicken and rice, it took 45 minutes to come out. We saw our food passed from the kitchen to the counter for it to be served and it was left ignored and turning cold in front of our eyes while the cashier guy restocked and cleaned instead of serving. By the time we got our food it was no longer hot even though we saw it finished, no one was there to take it from the kitchen and serve it. Had to stand up and ask for the chopsticks, water, to order, etc and were not approached by anyone except the give the menu. customers had to stand up to pay for the bill upfront by approaching the cashier (which isn’t a problem if that’s how the restaurant operates, but they had brought the bill to other tables and then ignored others for an extended period of time). I’ve also been to other bbq chicken branches where the service is great. The lady who is supposed to be the server was on her phone for most of the time we were there, and took a 25 minute phone call while customers were trying to wave her down and get her attention. Wouldn’t eat at this bbq chicken branch for that reason. Would give a 1 star but the food tasted fine so that’s for the kitchen.
This is my first time leaving a review. Until now, I’ve never written a review regardless of whether the food was good or bad. I visited here on November 11th. So far, I’ve been to over 30 different BB.Q Chicken locations and have always had a good experience. While some locations had slightly different-tasting chicken, it was never bad enough that I couldn’t eat it—honestly, I would just eat and leave. But today, I ordered the spicy galbi chicken, and when I took my first bite, I noticed that the batter was thick, and the taste was different from any BB.Q chicken I’d had before. It was just greasy and unpleasant. The second piece I tried had a strong rancid oil taste, and I had to think twice about whether to swallow it or spit it out. Eventually, I had to spit it out. This wasn’t just “bad taste”; it was “unbearable.” I’ve got a pretty strong stomach, and even if something doesn’t taste great, I can usually finish it, but this was the worst experience I’ve ever had with chicken. Out of all the chicken I’ve ever eaten, this was the absolute worst. The staff didn’t seem to be at fault, so I just told the cashier that the oil seemed to be bad, and I left. I still feel sick, and before writing this review, I had to throw up in the restroom. I really believe this is a serious issue, and I’m leaving this review in hopes that it gets addressed and improved.
I don't normally leave reviews but after having an unusually negative experience (korean fried chicken is rarely bad...), I checked the reviews and saw that this might be a recurring issue at this location so I want to help draw attention. I ordered the boneless half half for take out at lunch the other day and I was really hungry so I was scarfing them down but a few pieces in, I started having a gag reflex cause they were tasting a bit "off". From what I'm seeing in the reviews, people had similar experiences and were suspecting bad oil or freezer-burned chicken and I think that makes sense cause it wasn't like an overtly rotten flavor. I usually have a strong stomach so I thought I could just power through or maybe the marinade would be enough to mask the weird flavor, but every piece gave this "off" (like chalky? cardboard? plastic? - not quite sure how to describe it) flavor and I couldn't take more than a bite or two before gagging and wanting to throw up, so I had to give up. I had hoped it was just an off day for me, so I even took home the leftovers and tried to eat it today, but before I could take a bite, I smelled the "off" flavor I was tasting and immediately gagged. It's a huge disappointment cause I love my korean fried chicken and I feel like it's hard to find a place that's that bad, but this was inedible. (It looks fine in the photo, but just wanted to add a photo for verification lol)
Ordered to-go and got the original boneless combo…idk if the chicken was freezer burned or the oil was old but it tasted so bad. It was too late to turn back. It smelled troubling. I torn open each piece hoping that only one piece was weird…nope, all the pieces were terrible. The fries were fine. This was disheartening because I’ve had the bone in chicken a few months ago and it was delicious. I’m not going back…at the prices they charge, not changing the or properly refrigerating the chicken shouldn’t be a struggle for them.
First of all this place is not the original chicken as the picture Chicken was stale not juicy at all .. Customer service rude and not attentive too busy talking or sitting on their phones. Ordered a beer that was Warm not cold and so was the radish. also waited 30 mins to get our water and food. told the waiter our complaint and didn’t do anything about it.

Your lunch chicken combo is somehow bland even with seasoning. Overpriced for the little portion you give. And lastly fix your AC! It was literally 90° in your restaurant today, I know this because your cook took 16 minutes to cook and your thermostat told me so(btw I was your only customer at the time). Woman at the counter was nice but come on!
This place is very hot and humid without any air condition. It takes 45 minutes to have a take out order which is totally not acceptable. I will never come to this branch and I can say that this branch is running the brand as I like the fried chicken of this chain.
Worst delivery experience of my life. While the restaurant may claim it was DoorDashes fault they made the choice to have DoorDash provide their online order management. DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY IF IT COMES VIA DOORDASH! Driver was completely incompetent, went to wrong building, couldn't find door to my building and proceeded to say it was my fault. If bb.q chooses to use DoorDash they are giving up the ability to maintain quality, service and satisfaction. Why allow another company to bring you down. Very poor management decisions.
Awful experience. The cashier stood and watched us struggle as we placed our order on the screen. She wouldn't help. She just watched us. (We were the only ones in the restaurant at the time). In contrast, when a guy who intimidated her came in, she was more than helpful to take his order for him. The "self serve" area for utensils was half kept. There was no water. The inside looked clean and dirty at the same time. This place used to be nice and the food was great. The food is now still ok but the portions are smaller - prices are up. The sauces, other than the garlic soy, are too sugary. The new owners are not keeping this place in shape. I wouldn't return.
This place made the same mistake with my order twice. I went to pick up my food only to be told my order was never entered—both times. No apology from the manager, just excuses. Poor management and careless staff. Very disappointing. ------- A few months ago, I placed an order and went to pick it up, only to be told that the staff had forgotten to enter my order, so the kitchen never made it. They asked me to wait 20 minutes. One of the staff felt bad and called the manager to see if they could offer any kind of benefit for the mistake. The manager said no. The staff gave me two sodas out of apology, but what I really expected was a sincere apology from the manager—which never came. It was a Saturday, and I had planned to enjoy chicken while watching the baseball game, but my evening was already ruined. Today, during another Dodgers game, I placed another order. I had to call four times before someone picked up. When I asked why no one was answering the phone, the staff said they were busy organizing a soju delivery. They told me my order would take 20 minutes. When I went to pick it up, they said my order hadn’t even been entered. Again, they told me it would take 20 more minutes if I wanted them to make it. I was shocked and frustrated—it’s unbelievable that the exact same mistake happened twice. For the staff, it might seem like just one customer’s order being overlooked, but for me, it was very upsetting. I also know that the owner hasn’t been around since COVID and leaves everything to the staff. Back then, I used to see the owner, but not anymore. Please take responsibility and manage your employees properly. I was too drained to argue with the staff, who just smiled and said they didn’t know, so I walked out. But as a customer who has now experienced the same mistake twice, I am extremely disappointed.
Avoid this location at all costs. We came for dine in and were seated, only to be told 40min later when our food came out that they were closed and we had to take the food elsewhere. We and several other tables ended up eating on the hood of our cars. The lady in charge was flippant, arrogant, and has no business in the service industry. This place needs to close.
