Opinions de Two Boots Los Angeles
With the closure of Cafe Viva (the only other reliably tasty vegan pizza place) earlier this year Two Boots’s return to the Upper West Side is a huge blessing! Two Boots boasts an assortment of inventive and flavorful pizzas, many of them are already vegan or can be made vegan (you can get vegan SLICES)! You’ve got to try the “V for Vegan” slices (with artichoke hearts and a house made pesto)! My other favorite is the Spin Art: a small little bundle of filo dough filled with what’s basically a vegan spinach-artichoke dip! It’s a perfect small snack or accompaniment to a slice of pizza. Their sauce has a little spice to it which they say is inspired by Louisiana cuisine. Whatever inspired their food is working. Check them out on the west side or their upper east side location!
It’s a really nice pizza place. I went in to try the place after taking a long stroll at central park. They have good veggie and meat options. The service is very quick so if you’re looking for something quick, budget friendly after a long walk in park or in the area, I would highly suggest this place.
Two Boots opened their newest location here about six weeks ago, and I finally got the chance to try it. I've only been to the West Village location before this, but the UWS location is officially my fave. I got the Sicilian pepperoni ("Grandpa Pep") and the sausage and peppers ("Cleopatra Jones"), both of which were great. The garlic knots go for 3 with a side of marinara for $3.95, which is a pretty good deal for their size, though they were a bit on the doughy side and could be a little bit crispier in my opinion. I was lucky enough to meet the owner (Phil), who was manning the oven and greeting guests. It's cool to see the hands on approach he takes after 36 years in the business!
The vibe in here is super cool and the staff are welcoming and helpful. There are some awesome and unique pizza flavors that are a must try!
Great pizza! Tons of varieties to choose from. Loved the Louisiana connection!
the crew is great, always so helpful, and they make sure everything is taken care of perfectly. karol always helps me with my special pie due to my allergies couldn't ask for a better pizzeria
A solid 9.8 pizza slice. Great place to get a great slice of pizza. My kids love it (it's their favorite) and the adults love it too. Win win.
Great pizza with a wide variety to choose from. The food was excellent, the atmosphere calm and pleasant, and the service outstanding. I really enjoyed my visit and would definitely come back
We visit NYC every year or so and both go back to our favorite pizza places and try new ones. We came back to two boots twice on this year’s trip because it is up there among the very best we’ve had. The crust is thin and crispy, the cornmeal adds another layer of crispiness, the staff is friendly, and the store itself is comfortable (and even has a restroom!) I just wish they still had outside seating!
Always have loved their stuff— esp their dough/crust // thin airy and crunchy that is uniquely on the sweeter note (wonder if it’s from the cornmeal addition). Great flavor overall. Their GF crust is excellent as well
delicious pizza and garlic knots- these slices are different than other places downtown because they have a twist- mixing in Louisiana flavors for a little fun. Angel was our server and was very attentive and friendly. Great experience!
I had an excellent experience thanks to Logan. He was super friendly and attentive and genuinely cared about making sure everything was right. Their positive energy made the pizza even better.
The pizza is really good, thin, crispy and very tasty. The restaurant is clean and the service is perfect and very kind.
Two Boots is bringing New Orleans flavor straight to NYC pizza 🍕🔥 I tried the Cleopatra BBQ pizza, smoky and savory with that perfect sweet-heat balance. The Bayou pizza is where the Cajun influence really shines, packed with shrimp, andouille sausage, and overall big Southern flavor. Don’t skip the pesto garlic knots either they’re soft, garlicky, and made for sharing. Follow @butteronaroll_ on TikTok & Instagram for more recommendations
This place is delicious and unique. The ambiance has a fun and festive vibe, perfect for pizza night with the fam! They have nice outdoor seating and it's not directly along Columbus Ave, which makes it more relaxing outside. I like The Buckminister, it has marinara sauce, with organic spinach, roasted garlic, parmigiano, provolone & mozzarella. I alos like the Gramdma Bess, it has tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, basil, Parmigiano, and mozzarella. They also have a big selection of only vegan pizzas.
Two Boots Pizza is such a fun spot! The pies are loaded with bold flavors and unique topping combos that you don’t usually find at other pizza places. The Cajun spice toppings were my favorite—perfectly seasoned with just the right kick. The crust is thin, fresh, and holds up well without being too heavy. They’ve also got great sides—the garlic knots and sliders were some of the best I’ve had in a while. The vibe is casual and welcoming, and service was quick. Definitely a go-to if you’re craving something different from the usual slice. Highly recommend checking them out—they’ve got multiple locations across the city so it’s super convenient too! 🍕🔥
Stumbled upon some of the best pizza in NY… make sure to get a slice the buckminster and a garlic knot!!!!! We came back a second time during our quick weekend trip because it was so good. The employees were also awesome. 10/10 recommend.
Ate here at the end of October and this was my favorite pizza place while in NYC! We were starving and just happened to be passing by here so stopped in. It’s pretty small inside and can get crowded but we were able to grab a table and got our food quickly. The crust is so yummy and it’s overall a very solid slice of pizza. I hope to be back one day!
Overall good pizza. We tried the shrimp and chicken ones. The names are really unique and have historical reasons behind them. The story of the restaurant is also interesting and can be seen on the wall of the restaurant. The pizzas are ready to grab and are already made. They just heat it up and serve it to you. The flavor is good, it's a thin pizza.
I had The Buckminster (thought it was “Bucksmith” at first but either way, it was amazing). Every slice is looks like it's loaded with flavor and delicious. Big plus: they offer gluten-free crust, beer and wine, fountain and canned drinks. They’ve got it all: slices or pies, garlic knots, cookies, salads...you name it. I was going to leave with a pizza to-go (but I'll be back!). This spot is 100% a go-back.
The pizza base on these slices are just incredible. The cornmeal really make them crunchy!
Very nice little place. Colourful and welcoming. The food is okay I guess. As a European I am very used to real Napolitain pizza but this one is not the worst I ever had given the fact that is not freshly made but reheated. I guess it’s a cost effective time saving eating option and still tasty enough. I like the place though very much and the service is excellent.
Fantastic crust and great toppings. Friendly staff. My favorite was the Cleopatra Jones. We sat outside and it was delightful. Close to central Park West. Indoor and outdoor seating.
This is a great place to stop and pick up a pizza slice. They have a good variety on display. Freshly baked and served hot. Price is reasonable combined with a soda. Quantity of the slice is okay but may not be enough for a healthy appetite. Inside is hot due to the oven. There is seating outside as well and this is fine to enjoy in cooler climes. Pizza taste is good.

Best pizza in the city. The best part of this place is that is a pet friendly store. The team is so nice and helpfully. Special thanks to Karol. She is really good and fast.

Most tastiest pizza ever I had.. simple yet the best pizza.. I recommend “The Bird” if you like it spicey..! Sure to come back and taste the NY pizza..

Very nice and quaint place to sit and eat some pizza during all the city walking. Came here in mid February and found this place among all the other pizzerias. We got several slices including the Grandma Bess, The Queen, Nightripper and Anita. I’ve never had pizza topped with a jalepenos pesto before but now, I want more of it! Karol, the associate behind the counter, was very kind and helpful. She helped in deciding what to get easily and was very friendly. Id recommend this place to anyone lookin for a quick break off their feet and a bite of good pizza.
Karol was so sweet, very patient while we picked out what we wanted. First time here and absolutely plan to be back. Pizza was amazing and the garlic knots were outstanding!!
The guy Charles at the front couldn't be more helpful and polite. This place has been a gem since its opening. Try the Buckminster or there Cleopatra slice. It's amazing pizza!

This place was perfect to sit after a show and have a couple slices of pizza. The pizza itself was fine, I could have used more sauce, but the crust itself was good.
Feels like the 90’s! Happening across Two Boots reborn, my favorite slice shop in the 90s west village, was a nostalgia trip. And it’s still very, very good. Bayou Beast, what more is there to say?
It’s good pizza $5 per slice (with more toppings) but nothing to like write home about. If you’re hungry I’d still recommend it. I wish it was heated a bit longer
Fun pizza joint! Standard pizzeria service with a funky vibe that’s quite unique. The Grandpa’s Pep didn’t look appetizing but it tasted great! The sauce was fresh and full of flavor, crispy pepperonis and the crust was nice and crunchy. I loved it! The Grandma Bess had good flavor but had maybe sat out too long? The Hot Knot was fun to try — jalepeño pesto made for some serious heat! Worth giving this place a shot to find your go-to order.

We so wanted to like our pizza, considering other reviews, but found disappointment instead. Ordering but the slice requires warming up in the oven, which is expected. The slices ended up being dry and chewy. Cheese was not oooey gooey and nothing was really very warm. Not a whole lot of flavor, even with toppings. We may have just come at the wrong time when nothing immediately available was fresh. I'm thinking best bet is to go with made-to-order. ***This is a reply to the TB team from my original post above. Each of us had a Grandma Bess. I had the slice that had mushrooms as a primary topping. Brian also had a slice that had the name "Grandpa" in it. Thanks for asking!
Delicious pizza. Really tasty. "Menu is online" - I am not online. I am here for real. Place seems a bit dirty with black smudges all around, not in the kitchen.
The Meg slice was the best one, followed by the special The Marsha. The Sicilian crust one was not good, neither was the garlic knot. Maybe we got old slices, it was pretty late. The ny style crust was pretty good. Decent pizza but probably not the best around.
Had pizza with a couple friends. The cheese slice was delicious, and quite full of tomato sauce. I enjoyed that because the more tomato sauce the more it tastes authentic haha. 😌 My sister got some garlic knots and those I thought were okay. The grandpa slice was fluffy but regarding the pepperoni and cheese, it lacked some. Cheese slice would be a 4/5 for me and the grandpa slice would be a 3/5. The atmosphere was good. Beautiful shades of red and nice murals.

I didn’t really like the spinach artichoke puff pastry, the pizza was okay and the garlic knots was decent. I wanted marinara sauce with my garlic knots but I had to order three that comes with it. For one garlic knots, the marinara is $1.50. Overall I’d have way better pizza and probably wouldn’t recommend.
Good pizza, but delivery is hit or miss. Recently received an order after 90 minutes missing several items, with cold pizza. It's also not possible to remedy as their phone number rejects calls, and they don't have any other contact methods, other than a contact form on the website that doesn't get a response.
We bought a pizza for over $40’ today and brought it home. When we opened the box it was so burned that only a couple of pieces were edible. I called to complain but they don’t accept calls and their message box is full. It’s 29 degrees out. We are not going back to complain - or ever.
I don't eat much pizza at all. It's typically greasy and mostly just simple carbs. This review is just for the items I ordered. Needed something quick before seeing the Macy's Thanksgiving parade ballons being inflated. Ordered a slice of Mushroom Lovers pizza and 2 garlic knots. I have to laugh now at the irony of these menu item names. There was not a single mushroom piece on my slice of the Mushroom Lovers pizza. The "garlic" knots had absolutely no hint of garlic, just a thin veneer of some sort of oil and the tiniest sprinkle of parsley. It was sad and embarrassing. Doesn't matter that the prices were reasonable for NYC. I wouldn't recommend it if these 2 foodstuffs were free. Just don't order these 2 items. I do commend the manager and behind the counter server. It was jammed from ballon viewers. It's a small place. They kept order and served all efficiently and gracefully.
