Staying downtown and trying to decide what to eat we tried WP. Trendy at LALive. Lots going on. Quick seating on a busy night. Appetizer tatortotte nachos were pretty freaking delicious. Ordered the sausage pizza which wasn’t bad either. 2 people for under $50. Not bad for the area and the food
This place has the most amazing staff ever. Especially the GM, Jeffrey Sosa, who takes amazing care of his guests. The oven roasted chicken and potato purée is so delicious. Everything we’ve tried there is so good! We will definitely try to eat there every time we go to a Clippers game!
Nice food. Amazing service. Recommended place to dine and for some drinks in downtown L.A.
Excellent food! I love the interior and the smell is so inviting! The food is served in small portions, and I like it that way. Quality over quantity. It starts getting busy at 6:30 pm. Thanks Chloe for the great service!!
Excellente experience. Good food (we ordered 4 cheese ravioli and prosciutto di parma/ basil pesto pizza. Service good and short waiting tine ti get in
My burger and small fries was delicious. Great customer service.
Delicious beets and brussel sprouts and tuna tartar. Calamari had capers..YUM
Just the best chicken and mashed potatoes anywhere! I've eaten in some of the finest dining establishments in the world and I rank this the best. Relexed, upscale atmosphere ads to the pleasure. And with the name Wolfgang Puck you can expect the best in service...and you're going to get it from the General Manager, Jeffrey Sosa...and his staff. They love what they do and it shows. A business associate flew in from Arizona last weekend. He ordered a pizza and when it came he said, "Oh, I'll never finish it." Needless to say, he ended up eating every bite!
Favorite place to have dinner on my most recent trip to L.A. It is expensive if you drink a lot. If you come here for just food it's fairly priced for it's quality. Service is lacking slightly, it's mostly due to the lack of waiters. Would recommend for a nice sit down dinner.
Food was amazing and service was super great. I really enjoyed coming here. The light is a little bit too low but other than that I had an amazing time and would recommend to anybody I know.
Recently I found myself talking to a group of Chefs. We talked about how we wish we could turn off our Chef brain when we go out to eat so that we could sit and enjoy our meal without picking apart everything from the service to the food. When I come to Wolfgang Puck's Bar and Grill, I can truly sit and enjoy. The managers like Lauren are not just active but pro active and responsive. The wait staff is quick, friendly, and very attentive without crowding. As for the food, we ordered the crispy fried Calamari with gremolata aioli and it vanished! It was perfectly fried and seasoned (I have had bad calamari before). The aioli that came with it meshed well to enhance its great flavor. My wife ordered the Almond crusted salmon with potato puree and port red wine sauce. It was cooked just right, hot and flaky. I ordered the grilled prime sirloin burger with Maytag bleu cheese, smoked bacon, garlic sauce with a red onion marmalade. I loved it! The bleu cheese gave it the perfect punch. My only complaint is that after all the effort put into the burger and fries, that I was given ketchup. I am not one of those people who enjoy ketchup or A1 sauce. I was hoping for a roasted garlic aioli, maybe wasabi, or maybe even a bourbon barbecue sauce. Hell, why not a bacon or duck fat ketchup? Just something more. I used a side of the gremolata aioli that came with the Calamari which worked great. For dessert, we shared the apple and toasted almond crumble pie. I was pleasantly surprised to find the vanilla ice cream on the side. I am well aware that a la mode means with ice cream but it tends to ruin the crust. All in all, I am going to keep coming back, and no amount of bad reviews will keep me from enjoying my visits here!!!!
Great service and location. Appetizers were pretty high quality. A little pricey but that's expected for a restuarant of this caliber and also being in the heart of LA.
Superb service! Wow! The food was quick and creative. We had the Greek salad and their take was unique and delicious. The vegan burger, was amazing, tasted just like a regular burger. I did not expect this and was pleasantly surprised.
Have come here many times. Usually for a bite or drink before a game or event at Staples Center. They know this is the case, which is why they bring the food out so fast, and the staff is attentive. My friend and I shared the blue crab cakes (a special); it was ok. The farmers market was drenched in dressing, and somehow still lacked flavor. The highlight was the pizza. We had the grilled vegetables pizza. The crust was really good. The dessert, a apple crumble, also felt short. But, I've had better food here in the past, and that's why they get 4 starts instead of 3.
A good choice for a bite and a cocktail at LA Live. The restaurant sits on the main square at LA Live and is good for people watching especially from the outdoor seating. The food is good if a little on the pricey side. I favor the pizzas since WP does them so well and his influence can be felt (and tasted) here. Pictured is the Spicy Sopressata and Salami Toscana with Pepperoni, roasted onions and Green Chilies. It was a perfect balance of sweet, spice and savory flavors. The Sweet Potato Fries in the background were perfect fried and served hot with a sweet dip. Service was good but not excellent owing to the pace of the restaurant which was bustling. Overall, Wofgang Puck Bar and Grill is a tasty, enjoyable experience.
Food is tasty but a bit pricy. Our 40 min was less than 20 min on a Lakers game night. Service was incredibly fast.
Good food a little pricey. Great service. Sit on the patio it's a great place to people watch if you are in to that. Very interesting people walking around downtown Los Angeles.
Ok food and drink. Perfect location to combine a LA Lakers game.
The tuna tartare was phenomenal. The staff had a little mixup as to who is actually serving us, but our actual waiter was very nice and bubbly. The restaurant itself is a little small for the area that it’s in but we were able to be seated right away. I can see this place getting very busy when there is a game or anything going on at the staple center. It’s definitely nice place to go and get dinner before show.
The staff is surprisingly friendly and warm for a celebrity name restaurant. The menu is fine. The prices are what you would expect for a celebrity name place in a tourist trap entertainment center, but what you get seems worthwhile.
I know, it's a chain. It's a famous guy from the 80's. However, I really enjoyed my visit. The interior was nicely done with lots of natural light and stylish decor. I was there for lunch and had the burger which was tasty. The quality and flavor was right up there with the best of burgers and I left thinking that if I was in the area, I would certainly visit again. Our waiter was on top of it. It certainly seemed like a well managed restaurant during this time period.
Great atmosphere for a dinner date or even to catch a game. Indoor and outdoor seating available. The staff were friendly, but pretty slow. Food was great, no complaints there. I had the Mac ‘n Cheese and also got a taste of the burger. Again, service was slow and food took a while to come. Overall a good experience though.
Decent food and service - we had the mezze platter and the insalata pizza. Both were good, but not memorable. Our server was very sweet, but some of the dishes were dirty and had to be replaced. The view of Staples Center and the open area nearby is refreshing though. A good spot for a casual, quick meal!
They mislead you in the menu food descriptions. The best thing to order is the fried bread and a side of avocado - smear it on the bread, it is great!!! The Tortilla soup is more like chicken chili - okay if you want beanless chicken chili but NOT okay if you want Tortilla soup! The apple pie was dry and tasteless with their weird gooey ice cream (not refreshing). It was so dry that it absorbed the ice cream and literally you would never know it had ice cream on it (not cold or refreshing). The waiter was fantastic though!!!
Nice casual dinner in vegas. Ordered the rigatoni pasta - tasted pretty good(can find better on the strip though). I was surprised at how big the portions were. Overall okay other than the waiter pushing to buy out everything on the menu.
The staff member who served us was lovely but I didn't really like the food. There was Branston pickle on the burger which ruined the taste and the fries were too sweet. The food was a bit too rich for me and very expensive.
Was here with a group. The food was good, but I have to say the service was spotty. We weren't asked if we wanted drinks, had to flag down the waiter. When our entrees were delivered the staff didn't know where anything went and a couple of plates were given to the wrong people. One plate had to go back to the kitchen. We weren't asked if we wanted coffee or dessert, again had to flag the waiter. What makes it worse is the place was pretty empty.
Just so loud and crowded when I went I couldn't think straight and it took a bit to get my food. Good for them cuzz they a busy but just didn't make for a good experience. My food was good eventhough I had to end up taking it to go.
Awwww cheese are coming off pizza every time I pickup a slice. Not cool for 5☆restaurant. But service and golden beers are grest.
Service great!! Food good! Drinks Spectacular******
Our meal was good, with one notable exception. Calamari appetizer, and my Chicken Caeser…both quite good. But my friend ordered the macaroni and cheese, but when we got it, it was only cheese! Seriously, after fishing through it we found one piece of macaroni! The waiter took it back to the kitchen, but then told us that the whole batch was like that. This implies that the food is either made somewhere else or at a minimum sometime earlier in the day, and all they’re doing is heating it up. Not impressive Wolfgang! Yes, they gave us a free dessert, which was excellent, but still, make your own food at each location.
Food was good. But service was bad. Water served in dirty glasses. It took them a long time to get our drink order then longer for food, refills you had to order in advance to get in time when needed lol. It was ok. I guess they're just busy. Not recommended for fast dinning.
Went for lunch during a smaller trade show. Food is fine, a little pricy, but not out of line with the rest of LA live. Service was a bit on the slow side - when we arrived they asked us to wait while they checked for a table, even though the place was clearly half empty. We were then seated away from everyone else, which would have been fine except we were also apparently far from all the waitstaff, who seemed to forget about us and took a while to get our order, offer refills, etc. I've been on other occasions and the service was better, even when very crowded, so maybe this was just a bad day?
The food is just ok, but not worth what they charge for it. The staff is poorly trained. The service is very slow. We ordered a $25.00 appetizer “ for the table” as listed on the menu. The food runner dropped it, I asked for four small plates so we could share it, he said ok, then never returned. We looked at our food until our waitress came by later and I asked again and she finally brought us two plates. I ordered mussels and fries, a new entree. There was no small fork to get the mussels out of the shells or bowl for the empty shells. I finally got a plate to put my shells on. Don’t eat here. There must be a better place for the money.
Time: 3pm Party size 2 Sat on patio We wanted to stop in for a quick appetizer and drinks before the kings game.... we were blown away by the waiters. We ordered two waters a beer and a Coke. We were being forced to order their food. Which we couldn't tell how much it was because there was no prices on the menu. So after about 20 min of being asked if we were ordering food we left. And realized we were charged 4.95 for a Coke. We laughed and left to go to our kings game. We will never go to that restaurant again...beer was cold though
Stopped by for a snack before the King’s game, had a couple of pizzas and a calamari appetizer. The pizzas were no better than what we get at the local take-out pizza joint back home, the appetizer was ok. Sodas (Coca Cola) cost a. Outrageous $5 each. Great location across from the stadium. Below average food at gourmet prices. Not coming back here.
Great food. Absolutely horrible service. Had to ask for silverware and drink refills. Order was made wrong and they did not offer to correct it. Had to ask for it to be remade and then it took forever. Then, when we got the bill, they charged us for the second pizza that was remade.
Overpriced casual fare. Ordered a $14 salad with chicken added. They charged$10 for the chicken making it a $24 salad. The place is also very loud and made worse by blaring music. Not a great choice for an economical relaxing meal.
The fig flatbread pizza was lacking in depth of flavor. Arugula was tossed on top like a salad and was difficult to eat. Would have been better with it slightly cooked. Service was a little slow.
Nothing special, especial considering its got Wolfgang Puck associate with it. Had to wait to be seat even though restaurant was half empty! "Nacho" Tater tots nothing to write home about...definitely needed to be cooked longer to make them crisper, Pico de gallo was literal non existing, guacamole portion was like smallest Mellon ball portion I have ever seen. It was basically tater tots sitting on top of a bed of nacho cheese that was then covered on top with some creme something, definitely not "nachos". The Load tots at AMC Dining Theater has more going for it, are more flavorful and way crisper. Even more surprising considering it was Anime Expo 2019 weekend they were out of quite a few items. Its really no wonder this place was so empty...should have taken that as a sign! Can only pray that the main dishes fair better, fingers crossed but considering the overall experience over the first 45mins being here, not expecting much at this point. Very disappointing overall :( Would appear this place has been forsaken in lieu of WP24 down the way. Wouldn't be surprised if it closes its doors eventually!
good food. very small portions. slow service from the kitchen. the server was quick but the food took over 45 minutes to the table. they offered if we wanted anything from the bar many times. I replied four different times "no alcohol" I had a non alcoholic drink with pineapple it was like water. the place was empty yet my food took 45 minutes.
My family and I went to Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill at LA live Saturday June 22nd around 5:30pm, before our event at Staples center. I’ve been to other Wolfgang restaurant and never to this location. Our server was Jake. We ordered 3 appetizers and main dishes. Once Jake took our order he came back when received our main dishes, I asked him we never received our appetizers, he said do you still want it, I said yes, and he blamed the kitchen to the mix up. Once we received the appetizers after almost finishing our main dishes, the calamaris were the smallest I ever seen, next door table calamaris were very large almost look like onion rings. When I asked Jake our server about it and he blamed it on the kitchen. Very disappointing experience for my family.
My experience was less than good 🤔 The first thing was the rude customer service when we entered the hostess was very rude and abrupt not only to us but to 3 others waiting to dine. Once seated our waitress was very personable however her service was very slow Once we got our dinners it was cold! Leaving the restaurant stopped by the restroom and it was filthy! Bad experience
This is why you are losing your share of the market. Worst steak imaginable. Your most expensive dish shouldn't make me want to wash my mouth out with soap. Your only saving grace was the leffe beer I got to go with it (the only part of the meal you didn't touch) the shrimp could have passed on flavor unfortunately rubber that doesn't release from the tail because it was cooked so terribly long doesn't do it for me. Gordon Ramsey there will be available real Estate on Olympic as soon as they board this place up! And you should hire the service staff they were great the cooks however should be sacrificed for humanity's sake.
Place looks nice! BUT, Restaurant closes at 11 they say, They stop people from coming in at 9:50 We just got in... They were out of meatballs, told us that they mostly just have pizza. Given the fountain drink machine was turned off for the night. So you cannot get a Coke with your meal. You can get bottled drinks out of the cooler that was mostly empty. We got a pizza and a salad. Not impressed with either one.
The Hostess desk, the lady greeted us and then showed us a notice wherein there would be a $50 per hour minimum charge at the outside tables. I was shocked to hear of such a policy. But thinking that once we had a couple of drinks and dinner, the bill would be over $50 easily. We had a couple of drinks and ordered dinner. The location when we entered had about 15 patrons throughout. By no means was it crowded at 4:15 pm on a rainy Saturday. Our waiter took the food order and it was later delivered by another server that was not our waiter. The table only had one set-up (napkin - knife-fork-spoon) I asked the server for an additional set-up and an extra plate as we were going to share the food between the two of us. The server NEVER came back. We had to get up and go to an unoccupied table and take a set-up to use. And we never got a plate as requested. As we were waiting for the set-up and plate, our food got gradually colder and colder and the clock was ticking so we were in fear that we would be charged a second $50 for the 2nd hour at the table. I was appalled at the service and the disregard by the Manager Oscar Rios when I explained this all to him. His expression appeared as if he really didn't care and at the end he offered be a card that would entitle me to a future complimentary appetizer. - Wow really... If you are going to charge $50 per hour for a table then you better have elite service. It appears that they think they are sooooo good that they don't have to attend to the customer like they should. I was EXTREMELY disappointed and embarrassed as I had suggested Wolfgang's to eat. Never again. !!
I could get better service at Mcdonalds. The only time the waiter was attentive was when I was paying the check. Stood there like a jerk waiting for money or my card to pay the check. And then when I expressed the fact that the service was nonexistent, he just walked away without me finishing. It was funny and extremely ridiculous at the same time. If management is reading this, please fire this guy!!!!
Service is mediocre, food is well below average. As usual, WP is pumping out flavorless dishes with terrible texture. Pasta is overcooked to low American expectations, pizza is bready with weak sauce, and other dishes lack any imagination. With so many good options in downtown LA, just avoid LA Live all together.
Mediocre food and appalling service. Went in around 1pm for lunch and it was dead. Maybe 4 tables seated at the time. Spent 25 minutes just waiting to order drinks, which we didn't have a menu for until 15 minutes in. There were 3 servers for the entire restaurant and their communication was lacking as they all attended to the same few tables. The water they give you is room temperature. My mother has an allergy and when she told the waitress, she scoffed and didnt make note of it for the kitchen. Food is over priced and not that good. Honestly, the service was the worst part and made the meal harder to enjoy. 10/10 would not recommend.
The shrimp scampi was smaller then our appetizer. Probably a google three bites worth. Shrimp was good but not food enough to be 26 dollars for three bites of pasta. The waiter never came back to see if we wanted more food just quickly dropped the check. The quality is so not worth the price and the service was absolutely terrible safe to say will never return here.
