Opinions de Andalé Los Gatos
Very authentic Mexican food and margaritas are the best. Service and food presentation is fantastic. They now have a great wine list and even better tequila and mezcal selection. Will definitely be coming back!!
Delicious upscale Mexican food. This is what the locals go for brunch and a margarita after the Sunday farmers market. Great watermelon agua frescas ( and other flavors) for the kids! You can't go wrong!
This food is amazing. Been coming here since I was a teenager and its consistently good. I wouldn’t call it traditional Mexican food, probably more like TexMex but it’s still excellent!
Rafael's service left nothing to be desired. We ate nachos and margaritas to our hearts' content. Our family can not wait to come back for more. I can not recommend this place highly enough.
Great food and great service with reasonable prices. My husband and I probably come here once a month because it's so good. The main restaurant location doesn't handle to-go orders normally, but the takeout location across the street doesn't have quite all of the menu items that the restaurant does.
Their enchiladas are delicious! It looked like a lot of cilantro rice, but it was so good, I ate every grain of rice! They seated us even though we arrived close to their closing time.
Absolutely love the food. The food is always fresh and I never have to wait forever to get my food that I ordered. The food is truly authentic Mexican food. All the way from their tacos to their salads and drinks. It really sets a new standard for Mexican cuisine! The managers are always walking the floor and making sure everything is above standards. The employees are extremely helpful and nice too! I think I found my favorite spot in the Bay Area!
The variety of menu options ensures everyone finds something appealing. Every dish and signature drink we have tried has had an interesting, layered flavor profile that keeps us coming back for another meal. The staff are friendly and professional. They show a genuine interest in making the customer experience positive and memorable.
Environmental reviewer here. Love this place for the consistently great service and excellent food. Everyone is so kind and patient: case in point, when a man wanted to sit at a 4-top outside so that he could stay far away from everyone, the server gently explained that they wanted to leave it open for a larger party. The man (super pushy) insisted, and the server kindly relented, losing money on a bigger ticket. Their tortilla soup is amazing, and their salmon salad is fantastic. They don't use plastic utensils and their soda water comes in glass bottles. The best spot for delicious Mexican food in LG
everything about this place was amazing i loved the food service and most importantly to me the energy and vibe waiters and waitresses where very kind and theyre food was absolutely amazing i’d come to this place every day if i could absolutely incredible my experience at rhis place from food to service and anything else.
You don't want to miss out on this dining experience! The crab and shrimp enchiladas are delicious. So many wonderful meals on the menu, it's difficult to decide what to eat!
I have loved Andale since the first time I came here. If anything, it has improved. The ambiance is excellent. The service is quick, courteous, and efficient. The food is wonderful. It's been some time since I came here. It was previously self-serve. It is now full service. The food was provided especially quickly tonight, in less than 5 minutes after I ordered. It might be because it's early evening on a Tuesday, but I was impressed anyway.
Delicious food! Service and ambience were great and there were lots of vegetarian options to choose from. Esquites and vegan burrito were very tasty!
Andale Mexican Kitchen and Bar in downtown Los Gatos, is a long time family favorite. Growing up in Los Gatos, Andale has been my go to for delicious food, drinks, and custom orders with full salsa bar and indoor seating as well as a charming backyard patio. However after developing food allergies in 2009, I appreciated Andale even more. Their willingness and ability to make my orders free from tree nuts and dairy make a world of difference. Their adaptability to evolve with the times and social trends (innovative Cali Mex brunch menu) while incorporating traditional and more classic dishes appeals to all ages and a wide range of tastes. Enjoy tacos, fajitas, enchiladas, burritos, salads, and more. Can’t go wrong with their salsa and guacamole. Brunch includes dishes like cactus scrambles, breakfast tacos, breakfast hash, and more. Beverages include a full bar, various Agua Fresca (my favorite is watermelon), Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice and Mexican Coffee. If you’re dining with food allergies make sure to notify your server as ingredients, suppliers, and preparation methods can change at any time. Wait times can vary and weekends do tend to be busier (brunch and afternoons) especially. But usually they are really good about accommodating. The longest I’ve had to wait is about 30 minutes or so. Casual and down to earth but you can dress up if you want to. Definitely a low key local spot. They have a take out restaurant across the street with similar menu, but this location is ideal for dining in.
This place has the best Mexican food in the Bay Area. Super tasty! Variety of cocktails and aguas frescas! They have tamarindo and passion fruit😍💜 those are really hard to find in this area.
Cozy place. Outdoor seating is great. Food tastes great (I had the vegan burrito). The trio of salsas with the chips are very good.
Quesadilla with roasted chicken, it’s delicious! Really nice place. One wall has this big mural full of funny details, it’s beautiful. Costumer service is very kind. It’s a good choice if you are looking for good quality.
Nice cute decor, love the back patio. Good flavors with fresh ingredients. Service was good. Prices are a bit on the high end!
Very comfortable outdoor seating area, like a beautiful garden. Fish taco was very fresh and full of flavor.
The vegan tinga with guac and hard taco + soft taco and tofu was incredibly yummy, I recommend ordering them with roasted salsa 🤤 excellent rice and beans too!
Chips y Slasas, Andale Burrito with Carne Asada and cheese enchilada & Grilled chicken street taco with rice and beans. Passion Fruit agua Fresca, Dinned on the out parklet near the street

Wonderful, tasty street tacos and nice variety in the menu. Comfortable inside dining with great outdoor in the back this really nice in void weather. Attentive and helpful servers, always enjoy lunch here.
Wow! Such awesome Mexican food and stellar service. We’ve already been back over and over! If you like Mole’… it’s excellent, as is the Torta sandwich and tortilla soup. We’ll definitely be back!
I find myself craving their enchiladas often! As someone that has a gluten intolerance, it is hard to find naturally gluten-free foods that have flavor. Their enchiladas have a TON of flavor, and are delicious with every bite!!! Environment is absolutely gorgeous with traditional Mexican décor.
World's BEST Salad: Mesquite Chicken Salad at Andale. Crisp selection of lettuces with a wonderful, light dressing. Generous warm slices of delicious grilled chicken atop. Chunks of avocado, creamy feta cheese, tomatoes round out the ingredients. My wife and I drive 30 minutes each way weekly to enjoy a lunch or dinner salad. You can also try their scrumptious grilled chicken torta (sandwich) on a perfect roll and a side of the aforementioned salad. Their chips and homemade salsas are outstanding. Wonderful fresh fruit drinks and made-to-order churros rounds out what is always a great meal! The Andale mother ship is based in Los Gatos, but you can also find outlets at both the SF and Oakland airports.
Good service, clean, and good food. Definitely a bit more mild in terms of spices and flavor profile, but not necessarily in a bad way. Great sit down experience and the menu is broader than the takeout location. This is a very safe pick if you’re looking for a sit down Mexican restaurant.

I give this restaurant a Raj-3 star, which means if you are in the area ot around Los Gatos, you should try this Mexican place. It's a small restaurant with lovely outdoor seating (shared either of several other restaurants). Relaxed environment to enjoy margaritas with decent races, Pappas, chips salsa, and traditonal.mexican dishes.
Over decades the food is consistently good and reasonably priced. If you can sit in the backyard patio that's where you want to be if you're with others. Solo diners will be fine inside.
Read many different reviews. There are very positive ones and not so positive. Today’s visit was great. The team was quick to seat customers (even though the back patio was not an option) Food was excellent and service was friendly and good!
I have been visiting this establishment for many, many years. They can sustain TWO restaurants on the same expensive street (one takeout & one dine-in), so you rest assured the food is delicious! This dine-in location has two patio and one indoor dining area. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu! Also, they have always maintained their waitstaff, so the management must be doing right by their employees.
Cute indoor and two outdoor seating areas, clean and beautiful restroom, yummy food, good selection of food. Cons: restaurant started accepting customers 10 minutes later than opening time; while 3-4 groups were waiting server was still opening the seating area.
I always enjoy eating here, usually with my dog outside. The chili relleno is great. My mole chicken enchiladas were tasty and the sangria is a fav. Since we ate inside without the dog recently I got to admire some of the details in the mural along the wall. I liked the lamp integrated into the mural. Not in my photo, but look for Wile E Coyote somewhere nearby.
We came here for lunch at the recommendation of my sister and were very happy with the choice!

We had the vegetarian enchiladas, vegetarian quesadillas and guac. The guac was really good. The others were just about average. Not a whole lot of flavor to it. But, not a bad option if you’re in the area. The staff were really courteous.
A bit expensive but decent food
This is the better of the two locations in Los Gatos. But they do not allow you to order takeout, which is really unfortunate. The other smaller location is worse on so many levels. Over the last decade Prices have gotten bigger and the tostada bowls have gotten smaller it seems. But this one has a legit barbeque inside so the chicken is great
Staff clueless and/or overwhelmed. The change from cafeteria style to at table ordering is not going well for them. Food was timely & good but staff attention detail and situational awareness was sad... Poor counter guy had to wait tables as well... Hostess needs an attitude adjustment.
Don't bother. The place nickels and dimes their customers to death. Literally cannot put a bottle of hot sauce on your table. You either pay $7 for chips and salsa, or you have to pay for a little ramekin of salsa. Zero chips. Have their customers ever left Los Gatos ? The beans are ... Whyyyyy ? Why did you not just make regular pinto beans. I waited 25 mins for a 2 taco order :( and it arrived to my table barely warm. The beer on tap was flat. Really bad experience.
Just like Seinfeld's Soupnazi, this Taconazi stands out for its contrast between the excellent food and the obnoxious service. I have been coming here for 20 years, see the burrito photo of 2007, and always ordered the beef burrito. Before Covid, it came with a little salad. During Covid the salad disappeared, so now I order mesquite salad in addition. Not cheap but both the salad and the soft tasty beef are so good! I was there last week with my son, ordered two beef burritos, and one salad. We got one burrito and the salad. P. the waiter thought I had only ordered one. When the second one came after a long wait it turned out to be a chicken burrito. My son, who can't speak, had already wolfed down the first burrito, probably chicken as well. I showed P. the wrong burrito, and... he started accusing me of lying about my order! Very funny but still. I then asked for the manager, C., and told him I wanted to pay, but only for what I had ordered and received. No apologies, but he implicitly admitted the bad service when he said he himself gets bad service at Safeway (?!) all the time. Very funny again. He was a little aggressive and insisted I pay for the chicken burrito, because my son had eaten it. I will wait a while before going back there. Until P. and C. are gone. Can't be that long.

We have been here before and enjoyed the food and the service. However, tonight was a complete disappointment. They made my Shrimp Quesadilla without the cheese in it. When I told them this, they brought me Quesadillas with cheese only. What?! I asked for my correct order, but they did not give me that. So disappointing! I don't know if we will be back. :-(
I'm cross posting from Yelp to make the point - Something has happened to this place. It has been quite a while since my last visit. The two items I ordered were shockingly bad tasting - the quesabirria and Baja fish tacos. The first was sent back to be replaced with tacos that ended up being equally terrible. Overall, the food tasted like it had been made three days ago. The flavors were stale. Not one element on the plate tasted fresh (I'm not sure how you ruin cabbage). The food arrived at our table literally 3-4 minutes after the order was placed - a very, very bad omen. There seems to be no one supervising the place, though the server was very nice. You've been warned.
Terrible experience, went with a friend that I grew up here with in Los Gatos. I got a $18 dollar burrito & water. The charge on my debit card was $29, when I called the restaurant to try & clear up “why was a burrito & water $30?” I was told it was because my friend had ordered a bit more than I did & the waiter just split the bill 50/50 despite us not ordering the same thing but “that the waiter explained the bill would be split evenly 50/50 & not by what we ordered.” But guess what? The waiter did no such thing, in fact when I asked him “can you charge us for our bill separately?” He said “yes no problem.” So he straight lied to me, and then lied to the person on the phone talking to me claiming “he explained it to me.” I live in Los Gatos still & will NEVER be ordering from Andales or going to Andales again. That they wouldn’t refund me the difference on what I hadn’t ordered but was charged for and then LIE about it was beyond the pale, I’ll be sharing this experience about a $29 burrito & water, a burrito that’s $19 on the menu, with everyone I know. If you read this I suggest you eat somewhere else like Pedro’s if you want Mexican, which is down the street on North Santa Cruz.
Manager told my Asian wife she is a lier and can’t use the bathroom. She was waiting for me to show up. 15 minutes later I asked the manager why he called my wife a lier. He replied with a “word salad”. A simple apology would have sufficed. Meanwhile I notice flys on many of the tables. Don’t eat here.
I’ve been a loyal customer of Andale for over 30 years, but sadly the quality has gone downhill in recent years. The burrito I ordered was half the size of what they used to be. Even worse, the “Supreme” burrito that I paid $2 extra for came with only pea-sized portions of guacamole and sour cream. In the past, a Supreme burrito always meant a generous amount of both. When I respectfully asked about it, the manager told me that this is how they’ve always made burritos and that if I wanted more avocado or sour cream, I would have to request it as an extra add-on. He also claimed to have been there for 35 years, but in reality, he only arrived during COVID — the same period when the quality of Andale noticeably declined. His defensiveness and unwillingness to acknowledge the issue summed up why things have gone downhill under his watch. After three decades of consistent visits, I’m truly disappointed to say I won’t be coming back.
