My shrimp and grits were pretty tasty, and the hamburgers were good too, but OMFG! those fries! I mean, holy-seasoned-salt Batman! They were extra crispy and perfectly seasoned. To be honest, the fries stole the show. I'd totally come just to get an order of fries (make that a double)
Great 1st impression! New Years weekend, so numbers were a bit lower than expected. But the restaurant was beautiful in decor and calming color scheme. I ordered the Caramel Apple French Toast and I will say, it was the best French Toast I have ever eaten!!! No syrup needed. My husband had their Belgian Waffle with berries. He is a southern guy who likes his eggs, biscuits and gravy, so i was shocked when he ordered a waffle. He ate it all, and it looked fabulous! The staff was on top and had great etiquette! Would definitely recommend!
We were seated quickly. Dress was casual. Service was friendly. We had the breakfast bar. It was full of many delicious treats. There was an omelet bar where omelets were made to order. There were French toast toppings galore. The biscuit bar came with many topping too. I saw signs for "made in KY." They had juice and coffee. The bar also supplied toast, bagels, and donuts. My favorite was the cinnamon rolls. The atmosphere got 4 stars because the bar needed to be cleaned more often. They were probably understaffed.
I went to this location when recruiting at an event at the Galt House Hotel. I got the meal to go so I could eat back at the event. The employee/hostess who took my order was not overly friendly but professional. I felt like the cooking time of the meal was appropriate. I got the spicy chicken sandwich with kettle chips. The “spicy” chicken was not spicy to my palette, but it was a good chicken sandwich. I am not a big fan of chips, so I normally sub chips with fries. I didn’t want to eat that heavy when I had a long day ahead of me so I kept the kettle chips that came with the dish. Honestly, the chips were wonderful. Typically, I would throw out the remaining chips but my husband is a chip fan so I decided to bring them home for him to try. He agreed and said “Those are some of the best chips I have tried.” Honestly, given the google rating I wasn’t expecting much so I was pleasantly surprised. Note: I was in the east tower conference area. To find the restaurant go to the third floor and cross over the sky bridge to the west tower and go to the 2nd floor.
We were staying at the hotel so we stopped in to give this restaurant a try. We tried a variety of items and they were all pretty good. Our waiter was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed and soft. If you are not looking to get out I would suggest giving them a try.
We dined here twice during a business trip, once for dinner and once for the Sunday brunch. This review is both dining experiences. In general, we loved the flavors of the food and they're seasoned just right, unlike every other restaurant we visited in Louisville that put WAY too much salt on their food. The Sunday brunch had an extravagant spread of entrees, desserts, fruits, salads, a Bloody Mary bar, and an omelette and carving station with EXCELLENT prime rib and turkey breast. Pricing was also very reasonable for the quality of food, service, and ambiance we received. Brunch was $29.99 per person. Dinner entrees were mostly under $25 a plate.
I am a huge fan of the Environment • Vibe! The staff is consistently upbeat • friendly! (Van • Christina • Suri & Mallory) are the absolutely Best of the Best staff — 10 out of 10! If you’re ever downtown Louisville or staying at The Galt House Hotel — 100% visit Jockey Silks!
Good food. Good service. I had the pork chop and it was very good and I was served and done in about 40 mins no complaints.
Got the flat bread appetizer and the cajun penne alfredo. The flatbread was so yummy and the Cajun penne, 10/10!!!! The spices were so flavorful but blended so well!! Service was fast and friendly!
I’m attending a conference at the Galt House and have had dinner here two nights in a row. Jayati has been my waitress, and been amazing! Last night was salad, hot brown, and warm derby pie with ice cream. Tonight, ribeye meal, and ice cream. The vegetables with the ribeye were seasoned and cooked just perfect as well. Both nights I asked for her opinion on what to order. Thank you for helping me enjoy some delicious meals! I look forward to coming back when at the Galt House again.
This is my second time here in the last year and Shelley absolutely made this experience incredible. Service was outstanding and the food was great. I will be back the next time I'm on town.
I can for a conference and was incredibly impressed with my server Christina and with management. Christina was attentive and made sure to keep us up to date about our food and drinks. The food came out quickly and was delicious. I got the croissant sandwich and potatoes and the potatoes were probably some of my favorite that I’ve ever had!
We came to Gait House for a conference and decided to eat at The Walker's Exchange. Our server Jin was exceptional. The burger was delicious and we left feeling full and pleased. Our server Jin noticed an issue we were having and addressed it. This issue was not even requested of Jin but he took care of our issue anyway. He was also polite and patient with us while we decided on our meal choice. Thank you Jin! Date of visit: March 2025
I was nervous with the reviews but we came anyway for the convenience. It was very very good. My gf and I both had the avocado toast with eggs add on. Coffee was great and the staff very friendly .
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Walkers Exchange, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for the entire meal. Let's talk about the food - phenomenal would be an understatement. I had the pleasure of trying their brisket grilled cheese, and it was truly a taste sensation. The combination of tender brisket, perfectly melted cheese, and toasted bread created a harmony of flavors that left me craving more with every bite. Each ingredient was clearly of the highest quality, and the attention to detail in its preparation was evident. However, what truly made my dining experience memorable was the impeccable service provided by Hunter and Divya. Not only were they attentive and professional, but they also went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was nothing short of perfect. Their knowledge of the menu and genuine passion for hospitality truly enhanced my overall enjoyment of the meal. Overall, I cannot recommend Walkers Exchange highly enough. From the phenomenal food to the outstanding service, it's clear that this establishment takes pride in providing guests with an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you're a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and pay them a visit - you won't be disappointed.
I went here for breakfast with my daughter the three days we stayed at the Galt House. Food was great. The wait staff was very friendly. I had the Jockey omelette, Denver omelette and KY eggs beni. My daughter had the s'mores french toast and strawberries and creme waffles. All were generous portion sizes. The avocado toast awesome too.
Salmon was delicious! I'm obsessed with the jalapeno coleslaw. The waitress was super friendly and attentive. Great experience!
KFC Yum! Center is a fantastic venue with great sightlines, high energy, and a prime downtown location. From concerts to games, the atmosphere is electric and well-run every time.
We had Nolan as our server for breakfast (the Denver omelet) it was fantastic and so was Nolan. Super friendly and impressive.
Highly recommend place for everyone the buffet spread is very huge..... lot of options to eat and fill your tummy 😄... And special thank you to Sanskruti our server for today... she did an outstanding job... she made me visualize the food in my mind and made my mouth water 😋The best ever recommendation I had till now was from her thankfull to have you as my server Sanskruti👍🏻
Went here for dinner and the food was yummy. Service was super nice, but things took a while, and it wasn't super busy. Apparently, they have a pizza oven, but you can only order the pizza from their other restraunt jockey. Went with the pasta and chicken sandwiches. The fries were really good and seasoned. Juicy chicken on the sandwiches. My Pesto pasta had a pool of oil at the bottom but overall yummy. Cajun pasta had a good amount of shrimp and sausage, super creamy. My favorite was the appitizer of cheese curds, although a marinara dip would've made it that much better when asked if they had any, they said no. The cheese curds fed 3 and was plenty. Overall, I would recommend it. The food was good, but make sure you have some patience.
We dined here for lunch on a Saturday before checking out of the hotel, and the food was very good! I had the Roasted Chicken Club that came with fries. My husband had the Southern Fried Chicken drizzled with honey with mashed potatoes and green beans. The food came out pretty quick as well! The loss of one star and almost two was the service. It was absolutely terrible. We waited to be seated for 15 minutes with no one at all checking the check in desk. No waiters or waitresses in sight for this long. I finally went back and got one. They were all crowded up talking. On to sitting and dining, our waitress came one time. We had to go to the group again to get our ticket after over an hour of being there. I probably won’t be back because of this.
Had Thanksgiving buffet brunch there. Service was excellent. Food was pretty good had quite a bit of selection. I would probably have given them 3.5 stars for the food. Nothing tasted bad and know one in our party complained. They did run behind on keeping the turkey supplied. I wished they would have kept the serving spoons a little better and cleaned up around the buffet more often. Had reservations and there was no rush to get us out.
Nothing bad but nothing that stood out about my meal. The belvedere breakfast was filling and my bread with jam was the best part then the bacon, then everything else. Great atmosphere and servers were attentive.
Very cool place to grab breakfast (that’s all we ate!) Buffet was definitely breakfast heavy with no lunch items but very tasty! Spacious with a beautiful view of the Louisville Belvedere. We will be back!
What can I say about this place? Well, First of all, The Server was amazing. But the food itself wasn’t. I’ll give it the benefit of a doubt.
This restaurant is actually inside the Galt Hotel. When I got there with a friend. We didn't know that there was actually conference that cause the restaurant to be busy. However, our server speak very little of English and not very attend or check at our table. It took us about 10 to 15 minutes. And also he forgot to get one more burger for other person. Also he confused us with the check. We thought it was separate but it wasn't. He seem tried to rip off on our money. I am not sure if I want to come back for it.
The esthetic is cute, but not worth it for the food. The house-made kettle chips were the highlight — super tasty and probably the only reason this isn’t a 2-star review. The burger I had was just...meh. Not great. Definitely expected better from a restaurant like this. Wish I had seen the low rating on Google before sitting down. Service was kind of slow, even though the restaurant was nearly empty. The waitress was friendly, but she didn’t even know what was in their “special sauce” — not super confidence-inspiring. Overall, peaceful vibes, but the food and service didn’t deliver and I would not go back.
We had dinner there last night. We were told on the elevator by a random person the oven was broken. Not one employee mentioned to us the oven was down until I mentioned it. I ordered the French onion soup. I asked the waitress if it would be served without an oven she said yes. Guess what no gooey yummy cheese. The Caesar salad was tasteless. Definitely a disappointment. However, we are staying at the Galt House and went for breakfast today. What a difference waitress was friendly and attentive. Coffee hot and good. I had blueberry pancakes. Pancakes were a little dry. My husband ordered a new menu item Kentucky Benni. A large amount of food. Only complaint ham very salty. Waitress asked our advice and said the chef would appreciate feedback, I could only give a 3 due to the horrible dinner we had the night before.
I am not a fan. The server took 15 minutes to come to my table in an off-peak time. The first thing I asked for was water and I never got any. They were out of Cheese Curds. My steak was WAY over cooked and way overpriced for the size and quality. The malted salt and pepper fries were AMAZING! But the service and McDonald's is better.
I think they were short staffed. Got seated right away, got our drinks right away waited on our food @ 45 minutes. Breakfast was good, I had scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes & a biscuit with gravy. Had to use a fork & knife to cut up the biscuit it was a little tough but everything else was very good. All the staff were very busy cleaning up tables for the incoming guests.
Went for a singing trip with my chorus and can confidently say this was the worst food I had the entire trip. And I ordered FRIED CHICKEN. THE KFC WAS BAD. It tasted undercooked. The mac and cheese was very very soft. We had a new waiter, but that's no excuse for A. Not asking for drinks B. Getting my entrée wrong And C. Charging us for the entrée I had ordered, not the one I got. Overall a regretful experience, would recommend any other restaurant in the hotel instead. They do make a mean chili though. Also my salad looked like vomit. Don't believe me, look at the photos.
The food is cheap buffet quality and the water taste like it came out of a pool.. i could have gotten this meal at the Holiday Inn Express for free. Our waitress acted like she hated her job. Bad experience all around. The toast and coffee was my favorite part.. Pricey for low quality food.
Not at all what I expected. I made reservations thinking this place would be packed....it was not. My steak was mostly overcooked and the service did not match the level advertised.
Breakfast buffet was overpriced for what was served. Quality was poor. Our only bad experience at The Galt House during our 4-day stay.
It looked like a great place and our server was polite enough. But there is no pride in the kitchen. We could hear them laughing in the kitchen from the dining room. So, we waited about 20 minutes for lunch. The Ky Hot Brown was a tasteless, watery soup. It wasn’t hot. It wasn’t brown and I don’t think KY would claim it. It’s hard to mess up a ham and cheese sandwich, but the toast was burnt. That didn’t upset us as much as the fact that they served the fries over the burnt spot (but we found it). The server offered to take it back but we weren’t going to wait any longer. We WERE happy with Thelma’s cheeseburger (the restaurant upstairs), but they weren’t serving food on Sunday. Perhaps the wrong restaurant is serving food on Sundays.
Understanding English for a server is imperative. Not so much here. The service is bad and for a premier hotel restaurant that is bad.wifes entree came out 10 min before the salad. I ordered chefs special guy brought me chef vegetables
We’ve been twice this week with a convention. First visit food was good and their derby pie made me want to come back. First visit, we barely saw our server and waited a half hour for the check. I figured the guy was new and this was a fluke. The second visit, I wanted the derby pie, there was nearly no one in the restaurant and we were seated quickly but 15 minutes went by and I finally asked for someone. We saw lots of staff running around but no one came by, finally after asking someone came. Decent food, the pie is great, service leaves much to be desired. Update: Came again for the pie. So good.
Made a reservation for 3 at 6pm. Was seated & ordered within 10min Appetizer didn’t arrive till 6:45pm after asking a manager what the delay was. I ordered steak frites (medium steak) & when it arrived at 7pm the steak was WELL Done. Told the food runner that this was supposed to be medium & he said “it is” then snatched the plate. We noticed a man by himself was seated about 15min after us & NO ONE checked on him till we decided to let the other manager know. James (F&B manager) came to our table we told him about the awful experience we had with disrespectful staff & while he graciously comp’d my meal he later decided to comp everything. We asked him to please charge us for something so we can tip our waitress since she was lovely & apologetic for everything. Won’t be coming back to eat but the hotel is nice
this restaurant is really really cute, but that's about the only thing they have going for them. i regret going here, especially after seeing other reviews. where do I even start? my water glass had old food caked on it. coffee was stale. blueberry pancakes were SO try they were unbearable to eat. not worth the visit for breakfast but I cant speak for lunch or dinner. I would say visit at your own risk...
Just don't. First after ordering a flight waiter came back ten minutes later and said they weren't doing flights, so I found a drink instead, see attached pick for how sad the garnish was. Ordered two entrees and a bowl of French onion soup to split, and the soup came out as nothing but the onions in broth, and when questioned they didn't do the cheese since they didn't have the bread to toast. When the wife got a refill on her diet Coke, it was regular. Pretty disappointing for a restaurant in a hotel as nice as the Galt. Ambiance was on par with McAlister's or iHop, and probably would have received better food from iHop.
I don’t give 1 stars lightly, absolute fail. Pretty much the worst dining experience I can recall either pre or post COVID. TRAIN YOUR STAFF. This is from many years of restaurant experience in all aspects of front of house. Shout out to Samira for trying her best but it seemed like she did it all for every single table. Overwhelmed but the sheer lack of function this places operates at. Funny because the place was 3/4 empty. After placing an order for the two different Pinot Noir about 5mins after seating we waited 25 mins for two of the same Pinots to arrive.. cornbread sucked. See pic for the saddest French onion soup ever. This place is in a very nice hotel. Do better. Oh btw we saw people with shiny badges having a pow-wow by the kitchen doors. Thought maybe that they would pitch in or help move things along. Nah they just had a laugh and went back to doing who knows what. MAYBE it’s because it’s New Year’s Eve? Based on other reviews about the wait for service in this dining room I’ll bet it’s like this for every single dinner diner every single day.
We were seated immediately upon arrival because the restaurant was far from full. Our waitress promptly took our drink and appetizer order, then proceeded to take our menus, even though we tried to tell her we still needed to order our food. Fortunately, we had plenty of time to find their menu online and review it because we didn’t see her for 20 minutes with our drinks. I ordered a flight of bourbons because there were several on the menu that I wanted to try. The flight arrived at our table unlabeled, and the waitress had no clue which was which. We still didn’t have our appetizer, which was only a pretzel. Our waitress started to run off again without taking our food order, but we persuaded her to stay and take our entrée orders. Several minutes passed by and when we finally saw our waitress again, I asked her about our appetizer. She muttered something about the manager and ran off. Again, the restaurant was half empty and there were several servers on staff so that was not the issue at all. Tables around us that came in after we arrived had their food and were done eating, yer we still didn’t have our appetizer which again was only a pretzel. After 45 minutes with no sign of our waitress or food in sight, we paid for our drinks and left.
The server smelled like body odor and didn't have any hospitable care. Food was decent at best, some of the bacon was inedible. When we called the manager over because our server couldn't seem to get us our check, she was apathetic and didn't care about our frustrations. Another server noticed we'd been sitting for a while and she asked if we wanted the check. 25$ for the breakfast buffet is not worth it. Not going back ever again
If I could give a zero I would. I never write reviews but this pushed me to the edge. We had an important award ceremony at 8:00. We started eating at 6:00 and it is 7:32, still no check brought to us yet. We are in a group and were overcharged in total $600 Dollars because of a “minimum” even though a contract was signed. Terrible Service, Food was not worth what we were charged, do not eat here. Also we were charged a made up service charge ON TOP of our tip per check. It has been over an hour and we are still sitting here.
We are staying at the Galt House hotel for five days, and I don’t understand why they allow a restaurant that only offers either overly salty or bland food. This experience has been terrible! The service is also very slow. We waited one hour for our pancakes! Just imagine—one hour for pancakes! And the egg Benedict is a joke! Hahaha! HORRIBLE!
Save your money or go out to a better restaurant. Went here for dinner with my family tonight and OMG the worse service ever!!! There were 4 people waiting on tables with 3 tables full so there was no need for the slowness. My husband had to send his sandwich back 4 times. My hamburger was pink and I went thirsty. Get this went it was time to take my husband's credit card he was so fast. I'm praying food poisoning isn't on our list but yea don't go here. Drive the extra mile to Applebee's or chilis. Worst place ever!!!!
We were initially surprised to see that this restaurant, located in a "legendary hotel," had only a 2.9 rating. However, after having breakfast here three times, we feel the rating should be even lower. We stayed at this hotel for five nights last week while attending a conference and were thoroughly extremely disappointed with our breakfast experiences. The lack of staff, combined with their rude demeanor, made even government services seem way more pleasant in comparison. On Friday, the final day of the conference, we waited approximately 20 minutes to be seated, despite there being many empty tables. This clearly wasn’t due to the restaurant being full, but rather the understaffing. While we were willing to overlook this, it’s surprising that a hotel hosting conferences wouldn’t have adequate staff during busy periods. When we were finally seated, a waitress approached us without a smile and, in a very condescending tone, told us to get the buffet. She said that if we wanted to order from the à la carte menu, we would have to wait 40 minutes. Naturally, the buffet was more expensive than the à la carte options, but it wasn’t about the price—it was the very unpleasant unfriendly attitude and lack of hospitality that left us feeling very disappointed. Hardly what one would expect from a staff member in the hospitality industry. For the remainder of our stay, we chose to walk a few blocks to other breakfast spot, where we enjoyed better food and, more importantly, a warmer, friendlier and more welcoming experience.
Should of check reviews Had reservation for 3 at 8.30 went to the table, husband had trash in coffee cup. Wanted breakfast buffety, waiter asked if we were there for the breakfast with santa. Ordered off menu, berry pancakes, asked for sugar free syrup, told don't have Husband wanted a blt, told it wasn't on the menu. Could not understand waiter, spoke to low Spoke to manager on way out and really didn't give a flying fig Out $8 for parking won't go back. ENJOY great breakfast at wild eggs
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. French onion soup, no toppings. Just broth. Brought wrong order out. Took order for flights, and then came back 10 mins later saying they didn't have them. Refilled my diet Pepsi with regular Pepsi. My husband and I didn't read the reviews prior to coming, big mistake. Really surprised at the lack of care in this place - the hotel itself seems wonderful, but avoid this restaurant if you can. Would not go back, would not recommend to my worst enemy. Worried about food poisoning, only ate a couple bites. Pray for us!
