Crickets is one of my favorite bars in the world. It's a little pricey for Lubbock. They have the best buffalo chicken sandwiches on the planet. Try the Adios Mofo or Pickle Back if you aren't driving. Make sure to check out Sunday Funday breakfast/brunch!

I'm just gonna be honest, we were doing the "broadway shuffle" this last weekend and we got absolutely hammered. Crickets was the first and last place we were in...I think. I do remember good people, good drinks, and one heck of a good time. Lol I'd go back for sure

Cool bar to hang out with some friends, it has plenty of types of beer for you to choose from and also has some different kind of games to play. Had a blast playing Giant Jenga and Pool!

My go-to place to get some great beer, watch some good games and play some pool. The staff is always very attentive and the managers always work the extra mile to make the customers feel at home. From setting up games they don,t have on the TV on a laptop computer, to giving us some cookies to try out while we wait for our food! I've never had a bad experience in this bar and would recommend it 100%

They treat their customers well. I'm not big on drinking, but they'll always ask me how I prefer my drink, even if I tell them "whatever you recommend." Go in on weekdays to meet new people and friends, go on weekends to party. Fantastic place.

Great atmosphere, especially for a Tuesday night. There was a good sized, laid back but fun crowd, and karaoke night was a blast. Pool tables and guitar hero are fun additions for a chill night out too.

So personal, I love getting to know managers and bartenders. Clover has the best bar manners and greeted us with the biggest smile! She knew her menu and drinks, which I really like. Brady took the time to talk to us and hear us out. I like when a manager is able to get personal with customers . The atmosphere was very laid back and enjoyable. Everyone was so friendly and the drinks were well worth the price!!! I love when I can order a whiskey neat and actually not have to tell my bartender what it's supposed to be.. Clover was a breath of fresh air. The Twisted Cricket is a must when you go in! *update * we got to meet Seth the bar manager. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about all the drinks offered. He was hands on giving us recommendations and serving. Carly was our bartender at night. She was also very knowledgeable and so friendly, she also had recommendations on drinks and food. The restrooms are very very clean! The food from the kitchen is so yummy and fresh! I had fried pickles and their in house ranch and buffalo ranch taste so good. I also had chicken strips that were full of white meat chicken, the breading perfect and crunchy with the inside nice and tender. The fries taste soo good, in my opinion better than Wingstop fries!

Best place to hang out after university and to meet new people. Good beer and nice staff. Food is also on point, even a couple of options for vegetarians, and that in Texas! I might be biased because I met my husband here, but I love this place and can absolutely recomment to go there.

Ordered chips & queso, a few drafts on tap, and a burger with fries. While watching the 2nd game of TX TECH vs. TX Longhorn softball series. ID prior to making entry. Big screen to watch the game. There is plenty of seating. Karaoke after the game. Chips and queso- reasoned chips and queso were fresh and tasty. The fries were good. The meat on my burger was overcooked on the edge due to the thin burger patty. Other than the patty being dry, the burger was served with fresh veggies and bun. The drafts were ice cold and went down easy. The atmosphere is adult friendly as this location is in the heart of Lubbock and near Texas Tech. "Go, Raiders!" Plenty of seating, a few tables of billiards and basketball game. The restrooms were clean. Bar service is available, and the waitress fast and friendly service. Drafts were in plastic cups and were a good size. DJ provided music between karaoke singers.

Lively college-town restaurant, bar and pool hall. The bar has over 80 styles of beer on draft. The burgers are amazing - you WILL need a napkin! Thursdays, (and probably through the weekend) go into full, college-mode with a DJ and loud music. Bouncers will card you. Fun place to go - children might be better off somewhere else.

Largest selection of draft beer in Lubbock. If you go during off hours it's a good place to stop in for a drink and snack, but it gets super crowded with undergraduate students during prime hours.

Decent bar food, pool tables, shuffleboard, and a pretty good selection of tap beer. This place would get packed and of course gets very loud during peak hours but this was one of a few bars I didn't mind going to.

Decent selection of beer, although not the best in town and the last 2 times we went they had a lot of floated kegs on the wall. Food is usually pretty good. Staff seems to be hit or miss. Our last bartender was great, the one before that was terrible. Chatted with friends more than served customers. They have a decent game room with pool, shuffleboard and a few video games. All in all a pretty good spot if you go early. Gets loaded with college kids later in the night.

Draft beer selection is excellent and the majority of their food is great. Live music on the weekends is always good. A star was deducted because service has been poor at times and some food item's portion sizes (loaded French fries) were less than acceptable for the price. Overall this is a good place to eat, drink, and enjoy live music.

Definitely seemed more of a sit down restaurant from the outside, but it is more of a bar with really good food. My spicy brisket fries were awesome. But the two burgers ordered were almost burnt, though not bad enough to send back. If I had came in for a few beers and some food to go along it would be a great spot. But the overly done burgers were worriesome.

First time going this previous Friday night and it was *mostly* great! The food, the staff and the environment was amazing! However, DJ T8 has got to go. I don’t know if this is a budget issue but please, surely there are other inexpensive DJs that can play better music right? Good Lord!

I had a good time at a Cricket draft house and grill, especially the drinks we're very good along with the food as well, it will get loud in there, especially during Friday and Saturday night like a nightclub, especially when you're ordering a drink or 2, at least you'll have a good time with friends and family. The floor is messy, especially the bathrooms are way worse. Especially the man's bathroom, and don't get me started on that. They all need a major remodeling. They will check ID during Friday and Saturday nights, especially, there's a long line of people trying to get in unless use the line leap app to get in, but it's gonna cost you.

And I must compliment the bartender and waitress ... Polite and attentive. As an old guy ... It was fun watching the mating rituals of young people (and the catastrophic failure).

A girlfriend and I went for the Sunday brunch. It cost $9.99 For an all you can eat breakfast buffet, which wasn't bad. There was bacon, sausage, eggs (several varieties of scrambled), which were all good. The waffles were sadly a bit tough and cold. Home style potatoes were pretty good. I'm in my mid-30s and was definitely the oldest one there, but that didn't matter. We had the "on special" Bloody Mary's, which were ok, but didn't come with all the veggie garnishes, which are part of my favorite thing about a Bloody Mary. All in all, it was a fun place to go to get away from the kids with a girlfriend and pretend I was in my 20s again. If I was still in college, I'd probably give this place 5 stars.

Fun place to hang out, not too expensive. The food and drinks are good. However the live music tends to be atrocious and too loud to escape and there's also way too many smokers there usually.

Not really impressed. Glass all over the stage and floor, and all the staff was sitting at the bar on their phones at one point or another during the visit. Smoky atmosphere, but decent food. Pretty good selection of beer, they do have pool tables and several other games like that. However I think I prefer several of the other similar places in town.

Always have a good time on the weekends. Love the atmosphere, the DJ on Fridays, and the live music on Saturdays. Went in the early afternoon once on a Tuesday for lunch and was very disappointed. Not sure if our waiter was new and still training, but he was either very slow, the only one working (waiting and cooking), or just didn't care. After we finished our meal we waited about 20-30 minutes for him to bring our ticket. We had to go to the bar and ask the bartender to ring us out. Haven't been back since for lunch, but will go on the weekends as usual.

It's a run-of-the-mill college town sports bar. Decent selection of beers on tap, which was great and good bar food. Half of the space is dedicated to pool tables, shuffle board & other bar games, which looked fun, but smoking was allowed on that side so we didn't go over there.

The waitress was awesome Cloe! She was a lot of fun! The Dallas blonde on tap was horrible. It was tapped about a week overdue. From my knowledge they didn't take it out of rotation. Other than that it was great fun and the decor was great. Would recommend going again, just don't order the Dallas blonde :) The other disappointment was they didn't offer a military discount :(

Great beer selection, but too smokey. I had to come back and add one more star. The fajita tacos and the mozzarella sticks were both absolutely fantastic. But it's 2020, people can go smoke outside!!!!

Great location. Servers, bar tenders and security are friendly and helpful. Drinks really seem watered down or at least weak. Can't for certain say which. Staff may not even know. Very adequate seating DJ and dance area are a bit smashed. Send like they are really trying but maybe trying to be too many things at once. Pool tables and photo booth are cramped in also. But the college kids seem to like it. I've been with my daughter twice and the place was packed both times.

Hostess, 1/29/2019, made me feel most unwelcome. Place has always been blast, otherwise.

Went for brunch and had really mediocre service, waitress was disinterested in serving, there were no tortillas or biscuits available on the buffet line, coffee was very meh. We had to ask the manager for refills. Eggs, sausage and waffles made this trip slightly better.

Showed up at 3 pm on a Saturday, and ordered a bloody Mary, because, you know. The bloody Mary was excellent, but it took about 25 minutes to arrive at the table. There were only about 8 people in the bar at the time. My table then finished our first round of drinks, and sat with empty glasses for another 20 minutes until we decided to go up to the bar ourselves and ask for our tabs. I realize my friend and I are probably older than the normal clientele, but older people like service as well.

This place literally smells like sewage, stale cigarettes and lots of pee. Every surface is sticky from the floors to the chairs and tables, to the rail that goes around the game room. Our drink glasses were super dirty and we didn't realize until we saw them in bright light. We didn't order food because I can't imagine what the kitchen looks like. There are a lot of beers on tap and plenty of games that are fun but other than that it was a pretty gross experience.

Three for service. Ok. 1 you didn’t have enough people working for lunch on move in Saturday. The place wasn’t packed. The server was sweet but a computer glitch caused my brisket grilled cheese to come out after every other person in my party had finished their meals. Then the brisket was cold in the middle of the grilled cheese. Cold mush. As good as it sounds ... not so. Won’t order that again. My husbands burger looked good. My son’s chicken sandwich looked good. The double fried fries were over done. I don’t know that we will go back.

Flies are several of the patrons at this establishment and I’m not talking about bar flies. The waitstaff cares very little about your needs. Typical college bar riding the coattails of being in close proximity to campus. Sadly, this place could be so much better than it actually is. Awesome tap wall that could be well utilized if the tap list wasn’t last updated 4 months ago. One saving grace was the food. Amazingly their brunch menu featured very original and delicious items.

I so want to give this place five stars. I'm an out of towner, and came for the extensive draft beer list, and highly rated food. I was not disappointed on either point. For all the great attributes of this establishment, the stale odor that permeates (not to mention actual smoke from a nearby cigarette ruining my meal) is a turnoff. And, I'd imagine it's a turnoff for more customers than you imagine. Get with the times and stop allowing smoking indoors! *Edited to add photo of the bathroom. Staff member says the stall wall has been missing for a couple months. Dear management, please get better.

Probably my last time coming to Crickets, this has happened too often. I’ve only ever had 2 servers who were kind and attentive (wish I knew their names, but they were surely compensated for it), the rest of the staff have attitude problems, from the door, to the bar, to the servers (and seem to pay no mind to certain groups of people).

Went to dinner there on 9/21 and food was so bad nobody at the table could finish their meal. Waitress saw this and took all the uneaten food away, but never offered to do anything about it. Would never eat there again

Looked forward to visiting on our trip to Lubbock but apparently they weren’t interested in serving us. Went in and sat down.... waited about five minutes and watched three servers argue over who would take us. The girl who lost finally came over, and we ordered water while we looked over the beer menu.... she never came back. 5 more minutes later we watched her wander around the restaurant adjusting rugs, so we left.

I never take the time to leave a bad review but I experienced the most disrespectful situation, probably ever in my life. A man spilt his drink on me and I told him that he did and he said “yeah cuz you wouldn’t move”, so it was on purpose. He never asked me to move or tried asking me to move. So I spilt my drink on him and they kicked me out. They did nothing to the man that started the whole thing and it was the most unfair situation I’ve ever experienced. They obviously play favorites. They could have easily looked at the camera and see that the man purposely spilt his drink on me. The manager and workers were so rude. A man tried to grab me by my arms to kick me out. There was no need to grab me. I am a woman and I can gladly walk myself out. I would NEVER RECOMMEND THIS BAR, EVER! They also let “special” people skip the entire line when people in line have waited for an hour to get in.

The security guy let a girl with a fake ID in today (asked for $20 at entrance) and groups of people without identity verification who didn't even wait in the line, I don't feel safe being around such places. And I'm not waiting in the line for an hour and seeing people just skipping in.

I was DEFINITELY DISSATISFIED with the service et al. I encountered there. I visited Crickets for the first time tonight, Sunday, January 30, 2011. They do seem to have a variety of drink specials, free pool, and what not. Tonight was free pool, which was great, since I like to shoot. But I couldn’t find a straight stick in the place to save my life. They had 3 waiters/waitresses for about a dozen patrons. Yet somehow, it took me 10 minutes to get a beer. The waiter said he told another waitress to get my beer, and then they told me they were changing kegs. So, I asked them to just pour me a long island and skip the beer. The long island came, and tasted like they’d just poured a pre-mix into a glass. It was the “lightest” long island I ever sipped. I took one drink and put my coat on, because between the slow service and bad drinks, I’d had enough. I cashed out at the bar and asked for my ID and Debit Card back, and the waitress (who never waited on me) refuses to give me my ID because she says I owe her for the full long island I returned to the bar. The other waiter goes and talks to somebody and says he apologizes and is willing to be my waiter for the rest of the night if I want to stay. I thank him for the effort, but tell him that it’s too little too late. The waitress says to me that it’s somehow my fault that they made me wait 5 minutes while they changed a keg and implies I was being impatient. I told her someone could have just come and told me what was going on and offered to place another drink order while I waited, but instead, they just chatted with each other and did other stuff, so my dissatisfaction is not my fault. She kinda rolled her eyes, gave me my ID, and I left. I went up the street to Rocky Laroos where a single bar tender and cook were serving about 50 without a problem or wait...and without attitude. So, if you want free pool and bad service, I’d recommend Crickets. If you want a better atmosphere, prompt service, and no attitude, I’d go elsewhere.

They advertise that their kitchen is open til midnight, but 4 times I’ve been there in the past two months on varying days of the week their kitchen has been closed 11:30-11:45. False advertisement at its finest. If this is the only thing they had on the other bars on broadway (cause let’s face it, it’s the most expensive bar on broadway), you’d think they’d preserve it.

I waited with my girlfriend and two other friends for about an hour to get in tonight ( nov. 4th). We watched as people cut in line within that hour, until the 6th or 7th person cut in line and i spoke up angry at the other customers that decided they were too good to wait in line. I caused a quarrel which calmed down and my frustration continued, then i became livid when their employees were grabbing their friends from the bavk of the line and allowing them directly into the bar in front of all the people waiting in the cold. I told one of the employees that this was not right, to which he replied, " they're my friends, I'm a bartender,". I dont give a f$@* if you are a bar tender, that is not right. My reply must have shocked these employees because they refused to let me in the bar, saying comments such as," what are you going to do?" I demanded a manager who after ten minutes of waiting outside and holding up the line shows up and tells me," Ive told them not to let their friends in, you can go in but are you going to cause more problems?" Me? A paying customer? Standing up for the hundred paying customers awaiting your dive bar? Unreal. Do not go to this bar unless you "know" the "bartender". I will be speaking to manager after manager until i reach the owner. Half of your employees should be fired for their customer service. Crickets, i will follow up with you soon.

this used to be my favorite bar to go to but the staff is the absolute worst. the bouncers are so aggressive towards the customers and assault their customers. I have never hated a place more in my life. this place does not care about the people inside, all they care about is money and starting fights. I do NOT recommend ever going to this bar!

this place will kick you out if you show ANY sign of being intoxicated. I know a lot of people who’ve been kicked out and it only happens at this bar. even if the person isn’t causing trouble they will still kick them out! It’s strange they serve alcohol but the moment someone seems a little drunk they get kicked out. I know they’re just protecting themselves as a business but if they’re that worried then they shouldn’t be serving alcohol.

Worst bartenders ever. I asked for a double tequila sunrise and there was barely any alcohol in it. Then I asked to replace my drink and they made it weak again. Don’t recommend. If you want to get drunk, go to a different bar before coming here ✌🏻

The new manager Lydia spilt a beer on my friend and proceeded to kick him out because he was upset about it. He was never rude or disrespectful even though he was the one that got the drink spilt on him. Lydia escalated the situation instead of having decency or customer service. We aren’t from here and it sucked being kicked out the first bar you start at. Even the cop disagreed with her but he was just doing his job. As well as the other bartenders.. who saw the situation. Will not be coming back because of Lydia.

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at this bar due to unprofessional and inappropriate behavior from a bartender named Kensey. There appeared to be prior personal conflict between Kensey and one of the customers , which should not have influenced how the situation was handled. Despite this, she actively encouraged a younger member to purchase bottle service and additional drinks. Immediately after the bottle service was purchased, our group was abruptly asked to leave without any clear explanation or justification. The interaction was handled in a very aggressive and immature manner, which felt retaliatory and unnecessary. If there was an issue that needed to be addressed, it should have been communicated respectfully and before accepting payment for bottle service. This experience showed a lack of professionalism and basic customer service. I would strongly recommend management address this behavior, as it reflects poorly on the establishment and creates an uncomfortable environment for patrons.

Had issues with the bouncers claiming my Oklahoma ID was fake, then wanted to see my Snapchat friends locations for verification (which I barely use). After my friends explained to the now different bouncers at the door what happened, I was able to get in by showing my Apple account information. This treatment was very weird and uncalled for, and they didn’t offer any other way for me to verify my information.

Asked for a manager and got id checked by the SAME bouncer who used SOCIAL MEDIA to verify his age. This isn't the first time we've come to crickets together but it just might be the last time. He's 24, 25 in a month and they used apple id to finally "verify" he was of age.

After paying for food and drinks to come over and kick us off for that. Designate an area for that. Don't just move people on the fly. Very unprofessional. Will not return.

Absolutely not from beginning to end. I visited this past weekend for my 3rd time, enjoying it the first two, but this was hands down the worst experience. Bouncers are rude if you’re not 17 years old and blonde, and I watched multiple of them scam underage individuals for hundreds, if not at least $1000, to get in. Cricket’s NEEDS to be more observant of their staff, nothing but sloppy drunk servers and bartenders. My server forgot my drink for 23 minutes, and when asked about it stared at me like I was speaking gibberish and told me she “forgot,” and she was obviously wasted so i believe it. Then afterwards, proceeded to not even go to grab my drink but instead go get touched on and caressed by the male bartender ?? EXTREMELY disgusting and unprofessional. I ended up having to ask an original server to help. Bring back staff who knows customer service and can control their liquor if you’re going to charge $13 a drink.

⭐☆☆☆☆ Extremely Unprofessional and Shady Experience 10/31/25 I waited in line for over two hours to get into this bar. I didn’t purchase the “skip the line” pass, so I wasn’t upset about waiting my turn — but what I witnessed while standing there was absolutely unacceptable. When I finally got near the front, I watched for over an hour as the bouncers openly accepted Venmo and Cash App payments from large groups of people and underage girls to let them skip the lines. I easily saw over $1,000 exchanged right in front of everyone. None of these people had their IDs checked, and they were just waved right in. The whole operation felt unprofessional, unsafe, and unethical. It’s shocking to see this kind of blatant favoritism and sketchy behavior from staff at an established venue. Between the lack of basic customer service, the rudeness of the door staff, and the illegal activity taking place, I won’t be returning — and I’d strongly advise others to think twice before spending their money here.

The art I have on my body I’ve paid thousands of dollars for. I was more than willing to spend a couple hundred dollars in your bar last night. But after waiting in line, your doorman stopped me and said that I was not allowed in because of my neck tattoo. Shame on you. It is the first time in my life that I have been shamed like that. I will be letting everyone I know how I was judged and discriminated against!!
