ive only eaten here once, but i have been a couple times for drinks and to use the pinball machines. did you know there was strategy and skill involved in pinball? i never did, i assumed people just tried to hit the buttons at the right time but you can aim and everything. it's a fun place to go for an evening

Cool place, oddball food flavor combos but still yummy. I got the waffle dogs (blueberry waffles wrapped around breakfast sausage, spicy orange marmalade, sriracha syrup, mustard, with rosemary tatter tots). Wonderful service and staff!

I’ve eaten at Flippers one time and been to the bar 5 times. The brats are amazing, loaded and tasty. The bar experience is great, attentive bartenders and great cooks. The atmosphere is always great and Lily, one of the bartenders, has stood out as a consistently amazing host and bartender. I would recommend Flippers to anyone looking for a good drink and a quick bite.

Bomb food and good drink deals! They have all these yummy fancy hot dogs and drinks like the Breaskfast Shot that is actually 3 shots, one with Jameson, one with Butterscotch Snops, and one with orange juice and a piece of bacon.

Really great dogs. Whether you build your own or have one of their specialty dogs... You can't go wrong. The mac and cheese was outstanding! Good selection of beer. Bartender/server was super friendly and helpful.

My family and I stopped here for dinner on our way to Amarillo from Austin. The atmosphere was great, the food was phenomenal, and the guy that greeted us and served us was amazing. We have 4 kids ranging from 21 months to 9yo and they each ate a hot dog here and there were zero complaints. Our 21 month old was literally dancing in her seat as she ate, enjoying the food and good tunes. I wish I would have gotten the servers name to give him a proper thank you in my review. We will 100% stop here for food when driving through Lubbock. The booth tables tops are old pinball machines, and there are lots of old photos of pinball parlors on the wall. There were clearly a lot of regulars coming in and this seems to be a go to spot in town. Bathrooms were very clean and the parking was easy with a small parking lot and plenty of street parking nearby as well.

Flipps never disappoints. Consistently good food, solid bar, and great beer selection. Dog friendly patio and the staff is wonderful. One of my go-to places.

They had the most amazing stroganoff special. Easily some of the best stroganoff I've had in years. Fun, retro spot in downtown Lubbock. Filled with pinball machines - definitely a great throwback. Vegan options available on the menu, as well

Creative and unique (and very delicious!) hot dogs, good beer selection, good atmosphere, servers are friendly and speedy. Prices are reasonable. Only one thing that wasn't there that's needed: A change machine. A half-dozen pinball machines ready to play, but I only had 2 quarters in my pocket - and the least expensive pinball was 75¢. I should have asked my server, maybe they can make change. The picture is the Supersonic hot dog.

My family of 3 adults were in Lubbock for a football game against Texas Tech. I have never been to Lubbock in my 49 years that I have leaved in Texas. I found this dive bar that got my interest. It is in downtown Lubbock. When we got to the place there were several people there. The three of us order different dogs. Mine was the Sourpuss dog, it was fresh, hot and delicious. The other family members said their dogs were good too. This place also as craft and domestic beers. I had the Octoberfest beer which was good, but my son had this Pumpkin Spice Cider Beer and it was the bomb. The place was clean and the service was good. If i ever make it back to Lubbock I would eat here again.

Food comes in large portions. They live up the pinball theme. Tables are old machines and they have free pinball games. The food was delicious and it came fast and hot.

I can't believe I have waited this long to try Flips! The food was excellent, I honestly was expecting your standard bar food, but was pleasantly surprised how upscale what they carried to us. Also thier back room has some great modern pinball games, you definitely want to bring some quarters when you visit. 10 out of 10 would grub again!

I saw a review online and decided to give this a try. The food was amazing! We got a banh mi and Thai dog and they were delicious.

Cool vibe & fun food. The hot totty bratwurst green chili stew, smoked guoda & onion crisps are tasty, spicy with a satisfying crunch. Good luck eating with your hands ;-) Friendly & informative service.

If you are a pinball aficionado you need to come to this place and have a beer and a gourmet hot dog, all are handcrafted. Lots of cool pinball paraphernalia posted on the walls and they are tables also. The food was great the service was awesome and I'll be there again next time I'm in Lubbock. Note this is a friendly place don't be afraid to walk in.

Had lunch there with my son and had a great time. Hot dogs were awesome. I got the captain american and my son got the damned dog. Service was great. Atmosphere excellent. Got a few pinball machines which I'll play next time.

We went for mid afternoon lunch and drinks. The dogs are delicious and have great options for toppings. Their cocktail menu is fun and priced cheaper than most places.

Absolutely a great place to go with ur dog. The patio is dog friendly and they even give your dog a hotdog! The hotdogs taste great probably the best I've ever had!

This place has one of the coolest atmospheres around. All around the bar is lit up by pinball machine marquees, and some of the tables are even made from decommissioned machines! The food here is bar food, plus a bunch of hotdogs/bratwurst dishes with fun twists.

I can not say enough good things about this outstanding, unique local bar. From the pinball machines, to the ever changing beer choices, to the wait staff that will keep you laughing & engaged, to the outstanding food (great flavor and the hot dogs are HUGE). Skip the corporate chain b.s. and go to Flippers and enjoy a local jewel. Oh…and they will also give you a cool place to ride out a panhandle tornado!

It a super cool place we had a great time the atmosphere is awesome!! The food was delicious the only issue I had was I asked the server I'd the meal I wanted was spicy hot and he said no, but it was VERY hot!! I still ate it and it was good but very spicy!!

We had a party of 13 people on Saturday 3/18 around 6pm. We were immediately seated at two tables. Our server, Sam, was outstanding and made sure we were all taken care of for the entire night. We played music on the jukebox, enjoyed lots of fun mixed drinks, and delicious food. I ordered the supersonic dog with deadly mac and cheese. Very spicy, but so yummy! We had a great time, and we will definitely be coming back for more.

Cool pinball-themed spot with rockabilly vibes. If I lived in Lubbock, this would be the spot to hang out. Good food, drinks that hit the spot, great pricing, and friendly staff. We had the yin & yang chips and queso, a Frito pie, the Philthy Wizard dog, and the gouda mac "demonic" with death sauce (definitely a potent heat). I also had a London Grog from their fall drinks menu. Everything had great flavor and was well put together. Definitely a place I'd like to visit again.

We had a wonderful time visiting Flippers Tavern for a couple of dogs and beers. The hot dogs are not small, so make sure you bring your appetite. Fantastic service, too!

The food here is always super delicious, you’d be amazed at the amount of customization you can do on a chef-driven hot dog menu (The staff are lovely ever since the change in management as well)

I had a great time here. Got to play the newly released Metallica machine which I wanted since I've seen the interview with the band.

This is probably my favorite bar we visited in Lubbock! Very cool theme with so much attention to detail (especially love the oversized pinball "communal table"). The food was some of the best "bar food" I've ever had and the beer selection was on point. Friendly wait staff and non-smoking--this place really is really top-notch! It was also fun that they played both the Tech game AND Mean Girls, so me and my husband both had something to watch ;-)

This has been a quality establishment for years now. Always enjoyed it sporadically over the years as a local, but recently it’s been a staple. The Supersonic dawg is why I’m writing a review finally. Absolutely fabulous blend of spice and sweet, bacon jam got me grooving. And the side of vegan potato salad is exactly what I needed to pair with. Staff kicks arse, and I hear management is legit. The vibe is for real punk rawk mixed with folks that just wanna chill. For me, it’s nice to eat quality food over cooking and have awesome art all over to look at. Oh and pinball zen helps. Straight 5 star cause this meal caused me to spend time writing a review. Props and praise.

Went out with my family and had a great experience! Server was attentive and the atmosphere is incredible. This place also has THE BEST CHERRY LIME SOUR I HAVE EVER HAD. It was insane and I will definitely be going back for more.

An entire tavern devoted to pinball machines. Even the tables are pinball machines. An awesome one-of-a-kind restaurant experience. While the menu focuses on tasty beefy hotdogs and delish German sausage, their gouda mac is to die for, plus they offer a selection of vegan choices. Great food and fun pinball action. A don't-miss stop in Lubbock. Make sure to ask for Estevan as your server.

We were in Lubbock looking all over for a cat and were totally starving. We drove by Flippers and stop. A pleasant stop. There is real pinball machine faces from long ago. It's fun to walk around and look at them all. The waitress with red-hair was so friendly with a great sense of humor. The was fresh and hot. This pub was a one of those fun stops on a trip.

Fabulous food and drinks and the most amazing decor! The tables and bar are beautifully repurposed pinball machines. The staff is kind, attentive, and welcoming. Everything was delicious--pretzel and cheese, deviled eggs, Bar-cuterie, Supersonic, and the Flipper Style--but the Sourpuss was my absolute favorite! The drinks were fantastic too. Pom It Like It's Hot and Turmeric Mule are phenomenal!

Passing through on a trip out of state and needed somewhere dog friendly, this place was great! Our server Winter was so welcoming and passionate about the menu. We enjoyed everything we ordered and even got a "dog dog" for our pup! We will definitely eat here next time we pass through!

A very cool, little, niche bar with a pinball theme. Known for their hotdogs, but have some other good food too. The best thing about this place was the service. Koda (sp) was our server and she was amazing! She went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our food. She also made me a special drink, off menu, that was delicious! I highly recommend you try this place and ask Koda to make you a Blueberry Lemon Drop Martini!

The atmosphere was so cool! It’s park themed all the way (even the tables are made out of pinball machines!). The food and service were also top notch. I had the bahn mi, my wife had the supersonic dog, and the kiddo had an old fashioned dog with ketchup and all the dishes were superb. The side dishes of Gouda Mac and Cheese were creamy, cheesy, and crunchy thanks to the fried jalapeño strip topping.

Flippers Tavern just redefined “ballpark food” for me. ⚾ Their Philly cheesesteak hotdog is a glorious mash-up of two comfort food legends—juicy, cheesy, and so good I briefly considered ordering a second one just so my left hand wouldn’t get jealous.

Last minute decision change led us to a hidden gem with bomb food on free pinball day. I ordered The Philthy Whizard dog a play on Philly cheese steak and my boyfriend got The Supersonic dog which is the perfect blend of sweet and spicy with the bacon jam. Dropped in here for lunch. Love the feel of the place. Thought I was going to get a chili dog but went with the Thai dog at the last minute. It was a great combo of flavors and bright fresh veg made it feel like I was eating Thai food and also having sausage hoagie at the same time. Especially liked the coconut cream - pretty cool way to add some cool-dairy like element and still keeping it Thai. Nice spice too. Beer was inexpensive. The bartender - forgot ask her name. Young brunette was also very friendly and helpful with the menu. I don’t know when I’ll be back in Lubbock but I know when I do: We are going to Flippers dude.

This is a very interesting find. The food looks exceptional but we only had the chips and salsa and a dog. The atmosphere is great and the decor theme is vintage pinball arcade. Back in the days carnies and mafia openly ruled the world. The service was good and fast. The drinks were great.

Food, drinks and service were 5 stars and delicious. Only bad thing was multiple kitchen staff could be seen eating with their bare hands in the kitchen, playing with their hair and touching their faces. No gloves and never watch those individuals wash hands.

This place is awesome. Funky menu of hot dogs and sausages, the coolest dining tables around, great vintage pinball decor. The ONLY reason that I can't give it 5 stars is that they only have 4 working pinball machines in the back. Need a lot more. But, everyone should check this place out. You won't be disappointed.

So the hotdogs were absolutely amazing. Probably the best hotdog I'll ever dog gone have. The drinks however were poorly mixed and didn't really taste all that great. I'm definitely gonna come back, but probably won't be getting the same, if any, drinks again.

Tasty food!!! We sat outside so not much comment on the atmosphere except for the cool lights and all the pinball machines. Chips and queso were GREAT especially the shiner bock queso. Wide selection of drinks aswell. Hotdogs galore and a cool BYO hotdog with my choices.

Unique gourmet 🌭 hot dogs. Good selection of beers, porters, & ales. While the hot dog recipes are flavorful and good, I found the included bag of "convenient store" chips, self opened by the customer, disappointing. Hand made and house flavored chips would be a more complimenting side. A variety of beverages on tap with different taste profiles and ABV was amazing. Fast kitchen. Can't wait for the next visit through town. Reasonable priced for food and beverages!

We've had flippers several times for the vegan options. I was really disappointed with this visit. Got the vegan Frito pie I had spent the extra for pico but didn't get it. It felt like it needed that spice to taste more flavorful. My biggest issue was I ordered the chocolate mousse. The date on the container said 12/23. The day we went to eat was 12/28. They were serving it 6 days later. I did not like that at all and wouldn't eat it.I don't go to restaurants and pay these prices for leftovers. Makes me not want to go back because I want fresh when I eat out, not something that's been sitting there for almost a week.

Flippers Tavern is a really neat place! The tabletops are old pinball machines. The decor is like stepping back in time. The employees were happy and very upbeat. But the food wasn't very good to me at all. They have a choice of hot dogs or hot dogs. They have appetizers of chips and queso, but I didn't think the queso was good at all. It was a bit strange tasting. They have pretzels and queso to, same story. I ordered a build your own hot dog with chili. The chili was not like chili at all. More like taco meat. The franks (instead of using the normal word) were huge around and I don't like the taste of that. In fact, I hardly ate any and had to stop before I threw up. It was over $8.00 for my hot dog and glass of water. It might be a cool place to have a drink at. We were on lunch break so that was not possible for us.

Usually have a great experience here...we went in last Wednesday on Valentine's Day, about 1:30 and there was only one table of 4 and one guy sitting at the bar. So we sit down and it takes the bartender/ waitresses 10 minutes to come and greet us and bring menus., very short hello, and an I'll be back. didn't offer to take our drink order, just walked away...we sat for another 17 minutes, yes I timed it. She never returned. So we stood up and left. On the way out the door, she says " are you guys taking off?" I said yes, you obviously didn't want to take our order at all. Won't go back.. rude, bad service. Too bad. Management, if you read this, look up who was working on V day...she needs some serious training. 🫤

The food was just the worst, unfortunately probably the worst ive had in a long time, chips and questions was terrible, hot dog was just big, nothing else going on that end, burger was meh. Its very unfortunate since this place is so unique.

The service was BAD! Ignored man I was with. Didn’t ask what he wanted to drink or eat…what’s up with that. And don’t call me honey when you bring me a water refill. $12 for a burger that was ok. He ordered tea and didn’t get sweetener. No change when paying in cash. We will NEVER come back nor will we recommend this place! He left a tip even when I said not to.

Food is great. Service is abysmal in quality, speed and overall satisfaction. Parking is atrocious and the crowd isn’t for everyone, including myself.

Many reasons I stopped coming here but was asked to grab a drink. Well let's see if anything changed after 4 years. Sadly no, I approached the bar to ask questions while waiting for another party member, my waitress was off gossiping with another coworker rather than assisting. After I returned back to my table I decided to grab something. Here comes the waitress telling me to not go to the bar because they dont want me to go up there. This was after asking for a couple samples because the beer is usually terrible here but saw two new ones Ive never seen, so wanted to try. Needless to say, still a terrible spot, terrible service all the way around, food is usually undercooked and 98% of the time you are waiting for their conversation to finish.
