small rustic-esque establishment close to the university, great sandwiches and creative specialty menu with reasonable prices, $11 fed me here; mind you i eat a lot :) first impressions: everything is made of wood, lots of windows, general earthy color tones, smells good, clean place sandwiches: not many options for bread (white/wheat), which i personally prefer because it tells me that the company cares about their food. the proteins they offer are VERY high quality and they don’t charge you that much for it, i got a “BIGS” sandwich with like 5 different meats and i paid $11 for it. very good pickled peppers. i ate the entire sandwich and the peppers. sides: haven’t tried their baked potatoes or mac & cheese, they offer zapp’s chips which are my personal favorite customer service: kindly greeted upon entrance from what i suppose was a manager. offered options of surveys & fb check in for free items- of course i accepted. sandwich makers were respectful as well. you can tell the company puts in effort. closing remarks: good for a quick bite, my mom (who is an immigrant and strongly dislikes any sort of fast food) recommended this place, will visit again.

Potbelly is a great option for casual business lunches. It has a lot of variety in the types of sandwiches they make, with vegetarian and low-carb options available. The staff at this location are always kind and helpful. My favorite thing to order is the Italian with extra hot peppers. Good bread, good meat, good God let's eat!

My first experience going to Potbelly was a fantastic one. I ordered a roast beef flat with bacon and lettuce and it was great, I've had a lot of roast beef sandwiches and this one had a uniquely warm and relaxing taste that was just a joy to eat, and was a decent price too. The guy working the counter (the receipt calls him Q) was very friendly and had some good quips that improved my mood immensely. The restaurant itself was also very comfortable to eat in, being very clean and having this comfortable wooden design and large windows making it a cozy place to be. All in all I fully intend to use the "$3 off your next order in the next 2 days" coupon on my receipt. All in all a rather fantastic experience.

Wow, I love this place! The food is good, but the staff is just amazing. Every time I go in there is this guy there. I wish I knew his name, he's a white guy, maybe red hair? Little bit on the heavy side, but he is just amazing. The way he interacts with us customers is fantastic, always smiling and enjoy the conversations we have! What a guy, great food as well.

I eat here all the time. Every time I've been there, it's been prompt, friendly, and delicious. The portions are consistent, and they don't shake the spoon. Never had a problem with the food or drink. Add-ons, food and drink are all reasonably priced and I never feel like I didn't get what I paid like.

In town for business and I love a good sandwich, this place did not disappoint. I had the Avocado Turkey and it was delicious. Great quantity and quality for the price. The chips and cookie were great to! Would recommend.

Potbelly on 2402 9th has the best customer service!! Very friendly staff. We like them so much we eat here 3-4 times a week and love their salads!! They’re underrated to be honest. Below is their farmhouse salad I get it without the blue cheese and tomatoes though.

Today was my time visiting Potbelly and it was great!!! Upon entry staff was so cheerful and informative as I didn't know what would be a good first choice. I went for a BLTA AND IT WAS AMAZING. FLAVORFUL AND FRESH. I'm from NY city where BLT, is the holy grail of every corner store and POTBELLY... made the best BTLA in Lubbock hands down. The hot sauce was delicious also well made with olives and pickles amongst other seasonings. This was the best sandwich I've had in a very long time. THANKS POTBELLY for the " good vibes,great sandwiches!!!!!

Great sandwich shop, however it is by the college, so there are only one to two highchairs in the building. Just not very kid friendly.

The atmosphere inside was nice, and they had a lot of interesting sandwich options. The food was reasonably priced and tasty.

I had a boxed lunch from here at an event recently and it was just ok, but their hot & fresh ones are so much better. The Wreck and Italian are both great, but what really separates Potbelly from other delicatessens is their hop peppers, or Giardiniera, that add a delicious crunch and wrap all the flavors together. My last order didn’t have enough meat.

Customer service is fantastic here, I will say that. The owner is super, super nice! That being said, I gotta be honest about the food, and while it's pretty good, it's not anything too, too amazing. So, slightly overrated, I'd say. But still a nice change of pace from the usual fast food places in Lubbock.

Good sandwich place. When I went, I had the Italian. The ingredients were fresh, and the meats were well flavored. Nothing was blah. I got a good coupon deal, but when it comes to price, I would rather spend less at a sandwich place.

Great soups! Pizza sandwich is our fave! Milkshakes are yummy too! Salads are a little lacking but since everything else is so good, I still give it 4 stars.

They have consistently engaged in fast meal preparation and are aware of customer flow (pace). The staff is trained/managed well. The taste hasn’t varied yet. It is usually busy during ‘lunch time’; early lunch, lunch, & late lunch. The bathrooms stay clean. The table floor space stays clean as well. It is cool that there is (still) live music at this location. Don’t forget about the milkshakes. Parking outside of the establishment’s parking, during lunchtime, is difficult.

Asked for a cup of soup and didn't get it. Awful ranch dressing in a packaged container.And You should ask customer if this is their 1st visit. I know we looked lost.👀

The sandwiches tasted good, don't get me wrong, but they were absurdly expensive. I ordered two, thinking they would be giving me the larger sandwiches, and when I got to pay and it was $13, I thought for sure they must be a fair size, but when I unwrapped them, they were two rinky dink little things. I guess that's to be expected of most delis, but really you get very little bang for your buck here.

The soup amazing!! The cookies were so delicious and moist they just fell apart in your mouth the sandwiches were really good my favorite is the soups😜 A bit pricey but for a CLEAN place to eat worth it, the staff is not really friendly 🙄.

My first visit and what I thought a Turkey Club was is NOT what I received. I was not expecting chucks of turkey. I do try to read and be prepared and it just said turkey, bacon.....

If you plan to go here make sure that is your only thing you have to get done that day. When I arrived there were only four people in front of me but it still took over 25 minutes to get a salad. Further I had to order it three different times as I went through the line and it wasn't until I got to make payment that they finally BEGAN making it. I never knew a sandwich shop could be slow slow and dysfunctional.

I usually like this place. Tonight, not so much. The guy making our sandwiches didn't make it correctly. I ordered two big wrecks with double meat. Usually the put one helping of meat on the bread and one helping of meat on a piece of foil when they run it through the oven. He piled it all up on the bread in one stack and ran it through the oven so when I got my sandwich out of the bag, it was cold in the middle. I bought $50 worth of sandwiches and me and my son were both disappointed because we were accustomed to the way they were usually made. May not come back if it's going to be hit or miss on the sandwich making.

i could tell they where annoyed as soon as me and my fiancé walked in , the man that made our food was clearly agitated that we where ordering. he was being so rude my fiance was scared to ask for a side of mac and cheese.

We went to Potbelly for lunch today and was disappointed. We had to yell our orders over a tall counter several times to be heard, then repeat them again to the person making our sandwich and then again to the person we paid. Maybe this is the business model, but I'm not a fan. The whole thing seemed very chaotic. Our sandwiches were mediocre at best...nothing special with stale bread. The plus side is that the staff were friendly and the restaurant was nice and clean.

Loveeee potbellys, but boy I will be sure to go to the location on Milwaukee for my future meals, this location is very gloomy , no smiles, no greetings, just sad sad employees, sandwich was good but soup was cold. Being that I’m pregnant and drive busses I had to stop here and grab a quick bite From the moment I walked in I felt tension So the gentleman who makes the sandwiches black guy who works around 3pm I asked him I said I only brought this amount of money today I don’t wanna exceed the limit he was rude and told me to look at the board and pointed to it All I wanted was a sandwhich and some chips that’s it So I didn’t want to look cause idk how the combos there go or anything being it’s my first time So he had his mask on can barely hear what he saying and he gets mad when I tell him I’m sorry I cannot hear so I told him I just want a ham sandwich and he said soup or half salad I replied I want chips So he continues with the attitude I don’t know if he was tired or what but he was unprofessional even after I mentioned to him it’s my first time in idk how they open he didn’t even try to open up and help me with anything just kept on with my order Now as I bite into my sandwhich it’s dry and taste burnt definitely don’t taste as if it was made with love The guy also wears a black mask with white stuff on it Now on the bright side of things the cashier was a Mexican girl more heavy set didn’t get her name was n a rush to get back to work on route if I def give her 5 stars she was very professional and accommodating w me She was the best part of my visit at potbelly’s today But if I wasn’t pregnant and didn’t need to eat I definitely would’ve walked away after that ride encounter from the cook I just kept my composure and went on But if he don’t like his job it may be time for him a new job cause that’s not a good feeling to have when your paying for something u want

Never had been to potbelly before but decided to go at 9:20pm to get soup for someone w/ a stomach ache since Google maps says they close at 10 pm and was rudely told “we have been closing at 9 for over a year” by manager/ older employee. Misleading store hours need to be updated by management.

Tried Potbelly’s for the first time today and I’m so disappointed!! Paid almost $60 for two of the blandest sandwiches I’ve ever wasted money on. Ordered mine with light onion and extra tomatoes and they confused those two, gave me a ridiculous amount of onion and three of the thinnest slices of tomato for a large sub. Mine was a chicken club with double the meat and bacon and it doesn’t matter how much you put on it when there’s no flavoring to any of the meats. Ordered an Italian sub for my husband and while his wasn’t quite as bland as mine, it still lacked flavoring. Firehouse Subs is 1000% better. Please don’t waste your money here.

First time actually going here and it was for someone else. Placed the order over the phone and the women I spoke to did not seem to care all for my order. Didn’t ask me my name, didn’t make sure she had it right, or tell me when it would be ready. I get there and just immediately felt unwelcomed. Employees were unhygienic and apathetic, did not seem like they wanted to be there. I told the young man at the register that I had a pick up and he asked for my name and I told him that they didn’t ask me for mine. So they find my order and I have no reassurance if its actually order if they have no idea who i am, which is great. Finally, i pay and the young man at the register does not ring me up for the other sandwich and chips i ordered over the phone. Shame. Didn't actually have to try the food to know i wont be coming back.

The one star is for the sugar cookie. Absolutely delicious. Now the soup I got was thick like oatmeal. Brock+chdr. And the blt I got the bacon was BURNT! Great cookie 🍪👌 was the best thing I got.

3-4 years ago this place was the place to be. They were fast, efficient, and delicious. The past 2 years though their old main guy who o assume was the manager left, and it all changed. We’ve never had a good experience since, and we used to come almost every day. Every day turned into once a month which turned into never at all. Every time we came we ran into a consistent problem of the food was made poorly, with the wrong ingredients, missing ingredients, undercooked dough, etc. They became very slow, poor quality, poor consistency, and unorganized. The previous guy was always happy and nice, this new team doesn’t really seem to care about the quality of their service at all. Anyways, after about a full year not coming I decided to give it another shot. I wish I didn’t. What a waste of $12. My sandwich was disgusting, made with entirely the wrong ingredients, and once again missing other ingredients. I’m not sure what happened to this place, but unfortunately I have decided that I will not be returning. After 2 years and over 2 dozen (not exaggerated) consistently poor experiences, I’ve decided that I have had enough. I do hope things change for the better though, and I do wish you the best of luck because it is really nice for a college student to have the option to get a properly made potbelly. Back in the day, I used to walk from middle of campus to this location almost daily and get 2 sandwiches. It saddens me to see what it’s become

Asked what bread they have he says it’s right in front of me . Then he tells me “it’s just like subway bro not that hard” then I tell him what size I want I say medium and he goes “original bro” don’t work this job if u can’t control your emotions, not coming here again . Food is great but they seem not care about the online orders. I waited 30 minutes in store to pick up my order which i ordered 20 minutes ago. There are a line of people waiting for pick up. I saw lots of people after me ordered in store and got their food immediately. This is not fair. If you cannot handle online orders and get them ready on time, please close the pickup service instead of making us wait for so long.

This is my second time trying potbelly (I had giftcards) so decided to use them. First time it was alright, this time around wasn't a great experience. Ordered a smokestack he called to let me know there was nomore mac and cheese and if I wanted a different sandwich. I told him I would take a BTLA instead he told me there was nomore avocado. So I just told him italian. I also ordered smores cookies and he stated they haven't had them in 3 months and to pick a different one. I ordered a shake and from the picture it was supposed to have a little flower shaped cookie and their was not a cookie the shake was also very liquidy. We won't be returning due to all of this but would like to mention the guy I spoke to on the phone was very nice.

DO NOT EVER ORDER ONLINE HERE. I had to wait 15 minutes past time when it was supposed to be ready and people who have not even made an order when I got there on time had already left after getting their sandwiches. They don't care at all about people making orders online. Edit: I filled out the customer service form in their website and heard nothing back from them. I sent an e-mail to the e-mail provided by the owner and receives notification that mailbox is full and cannot receive more e-mails.

I ordered an original size, and when the sandwich came out the man working at the front told us it was skinny. Believing him, I asked the man for an original and the man with no clue what size it was asked the lady next to him. She had said “that is original”, and looked at my girlfriend and said “crashing out over nothing” then they proceeded to have none of the toppings I wanted and missed stuff on the order.

I went to get me a pick your skinny sandwich and soup combo, and the first two photos is what I received. I had ordered the new ribeye sandwich which does not have cucumber and lettuce on it. So I took it back and kindly told the staff about my issue. I was immediately accused of previously calling the University avenue location and cussing out the employee who was accusing me. And after I said it wasn’t me the employee insisted that it was using more examples from these alleged phone calls. The other employee was very nice and remade my sandwich with no accusations or non-apologetic comments. I received zero apologies from the other employee. The third photo was my remake. I highly recommend staying away from the University avenue Potbelly’s location in Lubbock.

Update 3: Three years now and still no replacement or refund and no apology (no, the form letter style apology in response to this review does not count). I still haven't eaten there once since this happened. Again, I'll repeat that it's pretty bad business to choose to lose a customer for life rather than to simply apologize and fix the problem. Update 2: Nearly two years later and they have still not replaced the sandwich. They lost a customer for life and I haven't stopped sharing my experience. They'd rather have a formerly happy customer hate them for life and tell everybody how awful they are until the end of time than simply replace one measly sandwich that they screwed up. Seems like a horrible business strategy in my opinion. Update: A year later and still nobody from this restaurant ever contacted me or tried to make the situation right so yes, I have not had Potbelly in a year. They'd rather lose a customer for life than replace a sandwich they screwed up. Original review: They served me a meatball sub with no meatballs and did not apologize, replace, or refund the item. Absolutely ridiculous!

My husband and I came in the other day since we had heard good things. Sadly it was terrible, I ordered the chicken club that claims to have grilled chicken. The chicken I got was not as described it had a weird texture and color, the bacon was not fully cooked. My husband was able to eat his whole sandwich but most of mine went into the trash. It’s disappointing spending over $30 on two sandwiches and not getting to enjoy it.

The manager, who wouldn’t give his full name, so unsure if this is correct, “Charles” threatened to fight me “out front” when I asked him to fix our order and ring up our combo as a combo, opposed to individually. I had originally asked if my sandwich would be available for the combo and was told yes by a sandwhich marker. Realized my order was wrong and Charles told me that I “don’t know how to read” after explaining that I had already asked for clarification and was told the combo would work, then said “do you want to take this out front” when I asked to charge us what was originally offered. Not sure why he escalated to violence when I was just trying to figure out why I was told the combo would work and then was charged incorrectly.
