Opinions de India Palace Restaurant Lubbock
India Palace is hands down the best and most authentic Indian food in Lubbock. The owner, Paul, has been a local business owner and sole employee for as long as I can remember, and his amazing food and generous spirit make this place a must have for me as often as possible! Be sure to make it by from 11:30-2:30 for the lunch buffet! It's a great value and always super fresh and delicious!
The food was really outstanding. The location seems dated, but that should be of no concern the service and menu are great. Everything is made to order so if you are in a rush might i suggest waiting until you are not or perhaps calling in for take out.
I got samosas and the murg murch masala. Everything was great and the man was very nice. He is the only one running the place so it took some time but it was well worth the wait! The samosas were some of the best I've had and I will definitely be back!
I couldn't believe how great the food tastes. I have been all over this country and no Indian food is better than this. My family and I will never eat anywhere else when visiting Lubbock. The gentleman working was very kind! All I can say is thank you for the wonderful meal.
Hands down the best Indian food in Lubbock! The owner, Paul, is incredibly kind and welcoming, truly the heart of the restaurant. He does it all: cook, server, host, and he does it all exceptionally well. You can feel the care he puts into every part of the experience. The food is super authentic, always fresh, and bursting with flavor. We always order the Murg Mirch Masala (extra hot!) with naan. It’s absolutely delicious and leaves us craving more every time. There can be a bit of a wait since everything is made fresh, so I recommend calling ahead. But trust me, it’s so worth it. This place has become one of our all-time favorite spots, and I’ll always recommend it to anyone looking for amazing Indian food in Lubbock!
Great experience for our first time trying Indian food, the owner was very courteous, ready to answer any questions we had.The food was made FRESH and in a timely manner. We tried murg makhani (butter chicken), chicken biryani and shrimp curry, everything was very flavorful.glad to have found this little hole in the wall, will definitely be coming back!

Incredibly tasty curries. Feels like going to your friend's house, and he cooks you an amazing homemade Indian meal. Don't expect a fancy, modern, spotless interior or food that comes out in 10 minutes. But do expect impeccable politeness and very fair prices. Loved it!
Went with my girlfriend to just grab some dinner, we were greeted with the owner Paul who was the most down to earth and polite man you can meet, the food was served fresh and the service was excellent, we came in missing our home made meals our parents would cook us. Walking into the restaurant you can hear the classical Indian music playing which made me feel right at home. 10/10 will definitely be coming back!
This is a really nice Indian Restaurant. The food was really good and tasty, and the service was great as well, for being operated by one person (the owner) mainly. If you want faster service, I recommend going in the evening or the weekends since it will be more crowded with more people working to make the food. The atmosphere is quiet.
Chicken was beautifully seasoned, the decor is so welcoming and cozy. Paul was nice and opened the door for us when we came in and left and gave us free naan. The wait was a little long but I know everything was made to order. This is genuinely one of the best restaurants in Lubbock
When I first saw the place from the outside I thought "oh oh" because it's in a small, old almost abandoned looking strip mall. But do NOT judge this place by the looks! The food is amazing! Definitely one of the best Indian places we've ever been to, and we love Indian food and check them out pretty much any time we can. The service is great, the guy ran the whole restaurant by himself, including the kitchen, so make sure you are not in a hurry. I cannot recommend this place more. We will definitely be back in the future!
The food was incredible! Very delicious and extremely well priced. The owner was very kind, will certainly be a regular now!
If you guys haven’t tried this place, PLEASE do. the owner is the most genuine and sweetest person i’ve ever met, and has such amazing stories of his life and experiences. He makes all the food to order, so it comes out hot and fresh everytime. So many amazing appetizers options, and the butter chicken is so buttery, melt in your mouth and automatically comes with rice AND naan. This is such a lubbock hidden gem i would genuinely argue it’s the best restaurant here. This place deserves so much more hype!!!
Paul was such an amazing guy. I wish everywhere had a Paul. He is so polite, sincere, and just what the world needs more of. Even if Paul wasn’t so amazing the food was sooo good. I recommend India Palace to anyone for the food, but the man Paul will keep you coming back. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed. Lastly I would add not to let the decor worry you. It’s one of those hole in the wall places you’re going to want to give a chance.
Best Indian Restaurant in Lubbock! The owner uncle is the sweetest and politest person ever serving the most authentic Indian food eaten in the city. Please do visit once and I bet it would become a regular in your list. Old rustic indian vibes and songs complement so well with the food. Will surely go again and again!
Food and service both very good and I highly recommend this place if you want flavorful and filling food. The owner was polite and obliging. He asked about what spice level I like and checked with me about it, very nice. The food was all made to order, so I enjoyed a spiced chai first thing. The vibe was comfortable and homey. I had multiple food items: naan with beef, mulligatawny soup, chickpeas in curry, and gulab jamun. All came in under $20, including the chai. It was a treat to try so many things. I had a good experience here. Everyone should come try some of this tasty food!

Never judge a book by its cover ! The saying really goes true for this restaurant. If you care only for the food, then this is the place for you ! I know you will find this place somewhat unattractive from outside, but let me tell you, you’ll get the best north indian cuisine here. We tried Saag paneer, samose, chicken kadai and lassi ! Everything was just superb ! Please don’t judge this place based on its infrastructure. The owner is really kind hearted and respectful person. He kept calling me Sir even when I’m his grandsons age. Recommended 10/10.
Best Indian place ever, one of the best restaurants in Lubbock, I'd eat here everyday if I could afford to. Food takes a minute but that's a good indication the food is made to order and hasn't been sitting out. The decore is very cosy and comfortable, I could sit in there all day. Owner Paul is very kind and respectful, holds the door for you and everything.

I didn't like the food at all. I ordered chicken biriyani, felt like chicken tasted very weird. Most probably they serve very low quality chicken. The owner handles everything, so it's expected to get the food late. Also they don't keep the place clean and tidy. Felt like it was a famous and good place for indian eatery once. It had it’s time. I would request to go through renovation and hire some good chef for cooking. Other than that, if you want to spend some time in a indian restaurant in quite, you may check this out.
SAD SAD SAD!!! i tried this establishment today for the first time after living in Lubbock for nearly 8 years. The older gentleman, who i guessed owns this restaurant, was the only other soul in the building. the interior is a sad memory of what i can only assume was a once thriving business. He was nice enough, but the experience was greatly lacking in almost every way. my "chicken tikka masala" was served to me in a coffee cup along with my rice. The masala was so salty that halfway through my meal, i decided to cut my losses and throw the rest away. The garlic naan was dense and had a strange sour smell to it. Just a sad meal from a restaurant that seemed to be a distant memory of itself.

We were driving from New Mexico to Texas, felt like having Indian food and it was quite late, an hour before we decided to go here for dinner. Once we reached, looking at the restaurant I was thinking if I have to really eat here, and based on the rating as one comment mentioned “Never judge a book by its cover”, decided to give it a try. We ordered for a few Curries, Naan, Chicken Biriyani, the pic I posted is Chicken Biriyani. This is one of the worst Biriyani I ever had in my life, it was some gravy mixed in rice, onions and some chicken cubes on the top. Every curry tasted unhygienic, unhealthy, tasted bad. Even the kids were hesitating to eat. Someone who likes authentic Indian food will never eat here.

I just ordered takeout from here through grub hub. Food came in small styrofoam coffee cups. $11 to $12 for a coffee cup of food is very expensive. Some cups were squished and spilling. Taste was sub par at best. Really disappointed with the quality, quantity and value. Do yourself a favour, avoid this place. Don’t get scammed like me. It’s not worth it.
