The most delicious chicken shawarma I have ever had, if you’re new to greek cuisine please try it!!! I’m very sad that I live hours away from this restaurant, I wouldn’t be able to stay away!
Local business, with fresh, delicious food and personable service. The Greek salad is fresh, crunchy and delicious and the chicken saorma, in toasted pita, is just wonderful! If you like Turkish style coffee, be sure you get some! I love the one with cardamom, served fresh and hot, next to some baklava! Everything is just yum!! The owner and chef will kindly accommodate and advise. Great small, local business to support!
Great little quaint place. Very quiet and all the staff is very kind. Traditional in every way. Food is fantastic, just ask about the options and for explanations before ordering to make sure you're getting what you intend.
While my wife was pregnant, we came here for lunch monthly as part of our appointments. We still continue to visit, just not as ofter as we're from out of town. Food is delicious and fresh. May take a bit to get but worth the wait. The owner is super nice and friendly. So, if you're looking for some quality Greek food, this is your spot.
This isn’t the best photo, the food was way too flavorful to think about posting a review before devouring it. The dolmas were great. The chicken shawarma was great. The beef and lamb gyro was great. I brought my Egyptian friend and she said this is very authentic copy and paste. She even said that the baba ghanush was better than her mom’s!! HA. AND THE PRICES ARE VERY GOOD!!! I was genuinely surprised the reviews weren’t higher this is a 4.5+ star establishment for sure. Go. It’s got that you know this is a good hole in the wall feel to it for sure.
Greek food is one of my favorites. I grew up eating authentic Greek food as a staple so I can be very picky. Unfortunately, it’s not often that I get to eat it since Amarillo doesn’t have any. I was excited to see this place while passing through and decided to give it a try. At 11:30, the restaurant was completely empty. The owner came out from the back and greeted my husband and I, took our order and went to work preparing it. We ordered hummus, chicken shawarma, and gyro. The hummus came out first and after eating my first bite, I knew I was in for a tasty meal. My chicken shawarma was so good. The flavors were perfect. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his gyro as well. We decided we couldn’t end our meal there. I’d noticed they had kunafa and Greek coffee on the menu so we decided to get some. The coffee was out of this world. If you enjoy rich, strong coffee, Mediterranean coffee would be right up your alley. This was truly some of the best I’ve had. The flavor of cardamom was so perfectly present and it paired perfectly with our kunafa - my all time favorite Greek dessert. The owner was very friendly and seemed to truly appreciate our business. There’s no doubt, I will definitely be back the next time I’m in Lubbock.
I come here and get chicken shwarma everytime I'm in Lubbock. The place itslsef is very ran down unfortunately. Only one person working there and he was really nice, doesn't automatically great you like every American does which I'm used to being from overseas. Americans would see it as rude but normal to me. Chicken Shwarma always delicious.
The building needs a deep clean. It’s never a good sign to when you see that much dirt and grime because it gets you to wondering about all the stuff you can’t see- like soda spouts. The gentleman who took our order was very nice. I thought the chicken kabobs could have had more meat. The veggie platter came with more food than the chicken kabob platter, which blew my mind. It wasn’t the best Greek food I’ve ever had but it was decent. Pita bread was lower level mid.
Ordered the chicken shawarma combo. The shawarma didn't have much meat but the meat it did have was dry which i found really odd because the outside was really oily. The shawarma was also way to salty. I was hungry but could only get through half. Fries were good.
For Lubbock Tx, on a Sunday at noon there was only 6 people here. I figured being a 4 out of 5 star place it’d be busy. Kind of a crack in the wall place, small, but still open feeling. I’m not a clean freak by any means but the floors and counters and everything looked run down and nasty, not quite what you’d expect. Owner of the place just sat on his phone and didn’t say much other than order at the counter and they had 1 person cooking and working the register. Kinda sad and not a friendly atmosphere to be honest. The food was not cooked fresh from what I saw, the guy never touched the grill or oven to cook the meat or anything, so more than likely it was microwaved or something of that nature. The place needs some updating and serious cleaning and maybe then it’ll draw in a better crowd and have a more thriving business. Overall the food was mediocre at best, but the atmosphere and overall condition of this place was not that great. Just trying to give an honest review of the place.
Dirty all over. Sticky tables, chairs and floors. Not sure how this place is passing health inspection. Food was being prepped by employee without gloves on. Frozen pitas, food was not great.
What a disappointment. I was so excited to try this place. When we arrived, there was nobody there but one employee, and I guess two of the owners. Well, we placed our order and went to a table to wait for the food. While we were waiting, we started noticing how dirty it was. The floors were dirty , the tables were all dirty and sticky as well which made me wonder how clean was the kitchen???? Well, we decided we would give it a try, but then we looked at the salt container over the table, and it had worms inside it. At that point, it was gross to us. So we asked for our food to go and left. We didn't even eat the food. I didn't want to risk getting sick. The guy was really nice and we all felt bad because he was very nice but i don't think we will ever go back to this place.
This was an order through Uber Eats. First time and last time. That’s another story. The gyro sandwich was the WORST I’ve ever eaten. The bread was not fresh, the meat was spare and the sauce, well, see for yourself. The bread that is in the Kronos bag was not fresh and they couldn’t be bothered to even tie the bag. The paper bag with the humus, tabbouleh, and dolma was leaking, so poor packaging. The salads were salads, so nothing to say there. So much is wrong with this order that it begs the question of whether or not this place even takes pride in their food preparation and packaging. When you send an order out via Uber Eats you’re marketing yourself. Potentially, a great meal could lead to a visit to sit down and dine. This missed the mark on so many levels that for the FIRST time ever I’m posting a review here . . . so that’s saying something.
The gyros has barely any meat on them, literally 3 shavings. The tzatziki has no cucumber or dill in it and for some reason has horseradish??? The fries were not seasoned at all and the restaurant was filthy! We are from Chicago (home of Greek Town) originally and have Greek family members, so we have a lot of familiarity with good Greek food. At least the name is true, it's clearly just Greek to the owners. Don't go here if you're looking for good Greek food!
I had chicken gyro, sandwich and fried chicken. Food was okay. The owner was very hospitable. I asked for halal chicken. He charged me $1 more for that. No other restaurant in Lubbock has that extra charge. Lite bite is far better than this one. Also you have to pay extra for credit card. Just wow 😑
The gyro meat is pretty good, nothing really special but amazing for what you'd expect of greek food from Lubbock. The real shame is the prices, the poppers and cheese sticks were what I ordered for $4 each it seemed like an alright deal until i realized you literally only get 3 poppers for $4 and 3 cheese sticks for $4. How can you charge that much for something that is definitely frozen and you literally only get 3 meaning each popper or cheese stick is worth more than $1?? Horrible deal, the chicken gyros in the picture are also $6 EACH, not eating here again unless the prices come down.
