Opinions de Las Brisas Lubbock
Definitely one of the best restaurants in all of West Texas and certainly the best in Lubbock. The off menu special of the surf and turf 8oz filet and 8oz lobster tail is amazing! It all melts in your mouth.
The food is excellent and knowing there are always new items makes the experience more fun. Several managers took the time to check with us in a timely way to ensure everything was to our liking. The steak was cooked to perfection and the vegetables were outstanding. We asked to substitute items and were given great options. The meatball appetizer is deceptively named; it can be meal on its own. Absolutely delicious. This is truly fine dining.
Higher cost per plate but definitely one to try if you’re wanting a nice meal. Server was excellent. Main course was excellent, dessert had great flavors, and we had some really good drinks. I would highly recommend either of the two Steak Filet options. The Jalapeño Cream cheese was a great addition to the steak it was paired with if your looking for something with a good spice. Butter cake was comparable to a cobbler to me and was very delicious.
We went there today with 7 people for dinner (we had an appointment). We were seated right away when entered. They were very busy due to 49 guests from TTU, and we had wait a while longer for the food. But worry not - the food was well worth the wait. Our waiter was very accommodating of the food delay and gave us a discount. Very considerate of them! My favorites were the prime ribeye and truffle mash - but the #1 was the seafood stuffed avocado (a must try!). Thank you Las Brisas for making our night enjoyable. - Hon
Grant was our server, and he was fantastic! Very friendly, never let our drinks go empty and knew every answer to menu questions we had! We were there for a Valentine’s Day dinner and it was perfect. That white truffle sauce cream is THE BEST!! We dine with Las Brisas often but it had been a while since our last time there but it was the best we’ve had in all our years dining there!
Incredible find on our way home from San Antonio… the food here is fantastic and the staff is amazing. Our waiter, Kraig, took great care in making sure we got what we came for in a delicious steak plate. My wife and I ordered the Filet Duo to share, and the chef cooked hers medium and mine medium rare… both absolutely perfect! We also highly recommend the pretzel brownie with pecan praline ice cream drizzled with caramel… makes your mouth smile all the way home! The picture is of our split blue cheese wedge and a bowl of lobster bisque. Probably the best lobster bisque I have ever tasted — so creamy and flavorful… just amazing. Any time we are close to Lubbock, this place will be on the top of our list for places to eat!
Incredible experience! My wife and I dined here the night before Valentines and we were over the moon with everything about this place. Our waiter, Deiven, was outstanding and polite, as was the entire staff we interacted with. We both ordered the Filets which were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor! Highly recommend dining here and we are already making up holidays/reasons to go back.
I've had steaks at different locations across the country and none compare. Las Brisas is the best steak I've ever had. They also have a great patio. Can't recommend this enough if you're from out of town and looking for an amazing dinner.
I had dinner here last night with my family after the ring ceremony. I am glad I made a reservation because it was packed. The waiter was top notch really kind and treated us well. The food was also very good. This was a very special occasion; me and my family were happy with the service. Also, I like the Christmas tree in the front. Will be back when I graduate!
Excellent experience for our first time dining at Las Brisas. Our server, Ryan, was expectational and added to the experience. The calamari and jalapenos appetizer and the signature drinks were delicious. However, the star of the show was the 16oz ribeye. It was cooked perfectly medium, very juicy and the flavor was amazing. Las Brisas was amazing but be prepared, this place isn't cheap.
Steaks were exceptional but the Espresso Martini’s and the Crème Brûlée were the highlights!
Sooo dang good and everything has such great flavor! Will be back. Patio is super nice to sit on also.
The host, John, made our mother's 78th birthday so special. He helped us reserve a table in advance and coordinated with our flower & cupcake delivery. Our waiter, Ryan, was polite, and his service and timing were professional. I had the sea bass, and it was delicious. Others in my party raved about their steaks. We can't wait to go back!
I thoroughly enjoyed this place! My family and I came here for a celebration dinner and had a great meal start to finish. We got the tomahawk steak and raspberry fillet, both of which were excellent and seasoned perfectly. Also, we got the Las Brisas salad to start, which was very refreshing and a great palate cleanser.
Food was amazing 👏, service was outstanding, Some people say it's pricey, but I say you get what you pay for... worth every penny.
Service was excellent, as was all of our tables food. Great job. Keep up the good work. Rex Thomas
Enjoyed a good experience -We waited at the bar and enjoyed good drinks while we waited on our table. Our reservation was on time, service was friendly and prompt & food was delicious. We would defiantly go back.
Depending on the day you choose to go to our favorite Lubbock restaurant, ask for Jackie Miranda, or Ryan Waters and you will have the very best service experience you’ve had in any restaurant. They enhance the already great food. I prefer the strip steak because of the flavor and texture. My wife prefers the filet for its extreme tenderness. We both agree on the steak tacos, which are over-the-top with flavor. Go once and you will return to ask for Jackie or Ryan and they will bring you your favorite drink from your first visit. They are that good.
This place doesn’t disappoint. I’ve been coming here for years. Great food, drinks, and deserts!
A wonderful experience. The food was perfect in presentation and taste. Diego made the experience truly 5 stars. Thank you.
Ownership change much improved the whole experience. Had avoided this place for several years due to a significant decline from when it opened. Unreal experience last night. I actually dreamt about my beef wellington last night. had the other half for breakfast when i got up this morning. you have to know how to cook to properly prepare a rare beef wellington. spot on! Seasoning on everything was amazing.
I have been told to come here by everyone in Lubbock, and as it was my last night, I had to try it. The atmosphere was a little down - but understandable as the nearby Texas Tech lost by a hefty margin…but even the guests were welcoming which isn’t something I’m used to. The service was great - the place was BUSY - but my water glass was never empty, I was never ignored and they even made space for me at the bar when there wasn’t room elsewhere. I ordered the bacon wrapped jalapeños, and a 10oz raspberry filet - and when I say it was the best filet I’ve ever had I wouldn’t be lying. I’m ecstatic I got a chance to eat here and would recommend to anyone who comes to Lubbock. Thanks Las Brisas!
Wonderful service. Riley up front is an excellent point of contact and helped us make a special night for a family very important to us.
Great steak and a great wine list. Staff was prompt and professional, I don't think my water glass ever ran empty. Good atmosphere with a really nice outdoor dining option. They had a number of cocktails, and all the ones we ordered were great.
Gave my father a choice between here and another steakhouse for early Father’s Day meal as he was recently in from out of state - he selected Las Brisas for the menu (as did I). Menu is sure to please anyone with a refined palate, and should satisfy those who don’t as well! Food was cooked exactly as you’d expect for the price - you do not (and should not) have to explain the difference between rarities or dirty/regular martinis. Our server was on point but also personable; it is nice to have bits of conversation, though it was initiated on our end- never forced or intrusive. I do kind of wish the decor / ambiance was a bit higher end, but that’s much less important than anything else. Overall, lovely, but what matters more is that my father enjoyed it!!
We were looking for the best steak in Lubbock… We found it. Las Brisas was a really wonderful experience, and we look forward to visiting again. We ordered the filet topped with lobster, the ribeye, and appetizers… We tried the calamari- it was sliced calamari steaks so a different but delicious way to enjoy it. The filet was ridiculously tender- like slicing through butter. The lobster was unforgettable. It had a wonderful buttery infused flavor in it that I’ve never savored before (and i lived in Boston). Wine list was good, service was on it. We will be back.
Very very good service, so polite and helpful. Meat had a fantastic sear on it, topped with all the pepper, however it felt just a tad bit chewy for my liking. Still delicious nonetheless. Wishing it came with more than three asparagus spears, that can’t be costing the restaurant that much money?? The truffle mashed potatoes were also very tasty. 4.5 stars seems more of an appropriate rating, but since you can’t do halves I didn’t want to knock them down all the way to a 4.
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here around 5/30 on 7/21. And we could not have been happier with our experience. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and seated immediately upon our arrival, even though we did not have reservations. Our sever, Deiven, was amazing and took great care of us. We started with drinks and an appetizer. The Free Fall was the best cocktail I’ve ever order. The roundness and depth of flavor was amazing. The seafood stuffed avocado was superb. Then my entree was the bone in ribeye with asparagus, truffle mashed potatoes, and I added the wild mushroom medley on the side. The steak was better than the ones I make myself at home! So very delicious! And the sides were just as tremendous. To finish off our meal, we had the apple pie for dessert. We did not expect it to come out in searing hot cast iron which caramelized the sauce right before our eyes! Bravo Las Brisas! What great memories we created here! Thank you!
I rarely, rarely give 5-stars. I always preface certain posts with this. I have eaten dozens upon dozens of restaurants , I am a hardcore foodie, and we love to cook so I am picky when it comes to 5-star. Las Brisas is one of the few that made the mark. We started at the bar while we waited. Drinks were almost instant, service (with a smile) was inpeckilbe. Drinks were great with the exception of my dirty martini. I should have opted for top shelf vodka but that is on me. We had a decent size party, 6 in all. Not bad but it was busy. Our one waiter (forget his name but he is tall and red-haired) did an incredible job. We didn't wait. I ordered the special, steak and fresh water lobster. It was very, very good. I almost exclusively cook steak at home because it is hard to get a good steak anymore. Las Brisas delivered. There was more to the meal from the amazing appitizers to the lobster Mac and cheese. Overall, was impressed enough to give a 5 star review. Well done Las Brisas!
In town for the week, and my colleague recommended this place. Glad I gave it a try. My filet mignon was incredible and cooked to perfection. My server, Ryann was incredible and made me feel welcomed! Portion was more than enough, didn’t have room for desert. Had the lobster bisque, was a little on the spicy side. Overall, great food & ambience. On the pricey side, but worth the quality.
I'm giving them 5 stars despite not serving the cream corn on busy nights. Take it off or leave it on so I can make a decision of where to go. Put Miles in charge too; he's great and I know he'd make sure we got cream corn. If they have the cream corn available then get it!
My family and I got to have dinner here to celebrate my sister’s TTU graduation. Ryan, our server, treated us like incredibly well and made the night very special. I had a margarita, the ribeye, and we shared a crème brûlée and bread pudding, all of which were fantastic. I’d definitely come back. I’ve attached photos of the cocktail and mocktail menus for those curious.
Great steaks, lots of options. It was cooked perfectly. Grant our server, was exceptionally helpful, friendly and attentive.
Amazing steaks and food. Drinks are really good. Service is top notch. I’ve been to many top steak houses across Texas and several states. This place is as good or better than any of them.
We have not eaten at Las Brisas for several years, after moving to Austin. Our meal was excellent, ranking very high on our list of excellent restaurants around the world. Keep up the good work!
Great service. Over cooked my steak a bit and the lobster Mac and cheese lacked flavor but over all foo was a 7/10. Would eat there again.
Amazing meal. We had the wagyu tomahawk. Food was 10/10, makes the former best steak id had like a 2/10. I have thought about the meal multiple times a day each day since going. Wait staff never let the drinks get low. They were very polite and professional. The wine menu is EXTENSIVE, and that is putting it lightly. But with a whole book for wine selection i was surprised to only see one page of mixed drinks, although that is likely due to demand and demographic. Price is about what youd expect from a higher end restaurant like this. Whole steak looks small in the picture but it was definitely enough for two people.
Delicious food, great service. Enjoyed my meal!
You can tell a lot about a place of business by the way they treat mistakes. The manager, Jessica, was amazing. We wanted to eat there, but unfortunately had not made reservations so we elected to have food to go. The person there handed us the wrong food (accidentally). Before we got home and discovered the mistake, they called us - first time that happens. Jessica took over, apologized for the inconvenience, remade the food for us and refunded us for the inconvenience. She handled it as any phenomenal manager would. We may have started movie night a little delayed, but The ribeye was absolutely delicious, and the beef carpaccio that the other person had ordered was even better. *will be sure to order it next time haha. Anyways, for some reason, we had not went to las Brisas as a high end restuarant - we go to lots of other places, but this experience in addition to the flavor of the food and the perceived ambiance when I walked in will definitely change that! We look forward to being regulars :) and next time we’ll get a reservation.
Dinner at Las Brisas in Lubbock was outstanding. The food was flavorful and beautifully presented, especially the steaks and sides, and everything tasted fresh and well prepared. Service was attentive without being rushed, and the atmosphere felt perfect for a relaxed dinner or special occasion. A great spot for a quality evening meal.
My wife and I visited last weekend with friends. The Wagyu steaks are always amazing. Las Brisas is consistently better than any other steakhouse we have tried. Definitely recommend.
What a wonderful experience. Not only is the food fantastic but the old-school courtesy and attentiveness of the staff was second to none. Props to Damien, our server; he seemed to always be there when we needed something but he didn’t hover, and his wine and food recommendations were spot on. There was none of that “my pleasure” BS. I managed to knock my water over within 5 minutes of being seated and his crew handled the cleanup with so much grace and humor that I’m actually kind of glad it happened. We ordered the 40 OZ Tomahawk Ribeye split three ways. The meat was superb, and perfectly cooked—we even got to meet the cook and share this opinion with him. All of us agreed it was the best steak we had ever eaten snd collectively we have eaten meat all over the world. The asparagus was amazing as were the truffle mashed potatoes. I had the New York cheesecake and it was the perfect topper for a wonderful evening. There are other decent steakhouses in Lubbock but nothing even comes close to Las Brisas. Wow! We will be back.
We had an amazing experience! The waiter was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond by recommending some new appetizers that were absolutely delicious. The food overall was fantastic!! Every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. This was my daughter and her boyfriend’s first time here, and they rated it a solid 10 out of 10! We’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend this place for great food and outstanding service!
Fantastic service from Grant. Sidecar was perfectly balanced as was his description of the features. Beautifully understood the difference between the flow of service and speed. I’m not sure if they are taught what “silent service” but they were fantastic at it. Ambience was well placed with quick resets of the restaurant performed masterfully. Boxing up the food is always a special touch that whenever I am lucky enough to be offered creates a a more refined tune. Thank you.
If you’re looking for an experience, this is the place to go. It might not be exciting, but the dining experience is fantastic. My wife and I were in town for the weekend and several people mentioned this restaurant for us to experience. It is a higher end steakhouse. Most people were dressed up a little bit, but not us. Just jeans and a T-shirt. As we did not know what to expect. However, we were not turned away or frowned upon. We came for a good tasting beef eating experience. My wife ordered the New York strip steak and I had the ribeye. Both of us were delighted and excited. They have a fairly extensive drink menu, including mock tails. We decided to try one of the appetizers that was a crab beignet. Amazing. Yes, it is expensive. But it does seem like it’s worth it. The staff was fantastic. The restaurant was quite clean. Overall, it was a good experience. I would highly suggest to other people to try it out.
Top notch restaurant, an absolute oasis in Lubbock. The filet mignon is always cooked to perfection. The fish is amazing. There is a special side dish of cream corn that is unlike anything you will ever eat and it's amazing. Calamari is also soft and delicious. There is a wine list comparable to no other around this area and wow do they have some great wines. Everything shows great care and attention to detail. Kudos to the chef. The wait staff is very nice and efficient yet not overbearing. You CAN relax in this restaurant. A show of great management is when the manager comes to your table after your food has been delivered to inquire as to the accuracy of your order. She was kind and caring. We appreciate this type of service. Cocktails are also very good. A wonderful establishment.
Hands down the best filet I’ve ever had… but what made our experience 10/10 was our server Lauren! I’m not normally one to write a review but she deserves the praise. The most professional, personable and fun waitress I’ve ever had. She was on it and remembered everything to a T without writing anything down as well. If anyone actually in charge sees this review give that girl a bonus or something. Will be requesting to have her every time!
I had the $160 A5 Filet, she had the 8oz filet. Didn’t take a picture, but the wagyu meatball appetizer was also amazing! The steaks were cooked to perfection. Didn’t even need a knife for the A5. Food was amazing. Dessert was the vanilla bean cake and awesome! Service was great, food was great, drinks were great. Our server, Nick, was awesome. Can’t recommend this place more! Will definitely come back! 6 out of 5 stars!
We ate here for the first time this past weekend. We had an early reservation on Saturday evening, and by 6p the restaurant was packed with several large parties. Our server was great, very friendly, informative, and attentive despite being busy. We’re not currently drinking alcohol, and he wasn’t bothered at all that we didn’t order wine which was nice. We enjoyed the fresh bread, lobster bisque, and our salads. Steaks were delicious and cooked to order. I love truffle, and ordered accordingly, unfortunately I just didn’t really taste it except maybe a bit in the mashed potatoes. The white truffle cream sauce was served in the same size bowl as the risotto and soup, so a HUGE portion that we couldn’t easily shared between 3 of us, two of us ordered it, which wasn’t necessary. It was a bit thick and more like a soup than a sauce, it was good, but not truffle-y. Mashed potatoes were fine, murshroom risotto was fine. The filet was my favorite part of the meal, served in a butter sauce and perfectly medium rare, very good. We had a ton of leftovers from so much food. Would definitely eat here again, maybe try some different sides next time. We were seated near the wine cellar, enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Since I’ve been on this “culinary adventure” in Lubbock, I’ve asked many people where to get the best steak, and I kept hearing about Las Brisas. While I was at the bar a lady who seemed to be everyone’s mom told me it was the best steak I’d ever eat. Truthfully, I’ve never eaten a better steak, but we will get to that. While waiting, what struck me more than anything was the staff. They were so friendly. Even hearing them chat to each other while waiting in the bar, they were happy! To me that says they are treated well by management which speaks volumes. I settled on an old fashioned, the lobster bisque, and an 8 oz filet which came with roasted asparagus and southwestern mashed potatoes. I finished with the recommended vanilla butter cake which was topped with ice cream and blueberries. Everything was excellent, but the medium filet mignon was a masterpiece of balance—perfectly seared for a caramelized crust, with a tender, melt-in-your-mouth center that’s warm and delicately pink. Its subtle, buttery flavor shines through, enhanced by a hint of seasoning and a flawless cook. If I tried, I couldn’t find a fault. This place is my new #1 for steaks knocking off Albuquerque’s Antiquity. PS. I sat at the bar and these pics are terrible.
We had an excellent dinner here. Trey was our waiter. He was outstanding! Nice atmosphere. Nice variety on the menu and daily specials. My wife had a fantastic 8 oz Wagyu filet. It was cooked to perfection and so tender. I had the 16 oz tomahawk steak. Again, cooked to perfection with mashed potatoes and asparagus. I highly recommend Las Brisas for any occasion. We will be back.
What a great place. The staff and atmosphere was amazing. The food was perfect and we had to get the Lobster-Mac…. Wow. The bone -in ribeye, raspberry filet, stuffed avocado, and lobster Mac and cheese…. Holy cow! We had a great feast and what a great time. We sat at the bar and saw the gears in motion as the staff was on point and very knowledgeable of the menu. This is a must stop, and enjoy the great food. Urissa, Craig and Tate all helped us and made us part of the party. What a good time and memories. Can’t wait to return for more incredible food. The old fashions are good as well. lol
We came here to celebrate our 18th anniversary. There was plenty of parking and a little side lake with a waterfall structure next to the outdoor seating. There were plenty of ceiling out on the patio. The inside has multiple sections that accommodate more seating and still maintain an intimate atmosphere. We sat in the dining room. The temperature was comfortable and had no draft. There is a VERY extensive wine menu if you are a connoisseur. The FreeFall cocktail was exceptional. Highly recommend We ordered seafood stuffed avocado. It comes with a side of white queso that was very tasty. They also give you complimentary bread and butter. It was also warm and delicious. I ordered lobster bisque and a house salad. The bisque has a little space to it if you are sensitive and there was only one small chunk of lobster, but the bisque was very good. My husband ordered the Bone in Ribeye with asparagus, truffle mashed potatoes and the wild mushroom medley. It was all very tasty. The steak, however, was more than tasty. I never eat steak because it’s gross, but my husband let me taste his and it melted in my mouth. It was the best steak I have ever had. It had the flavor of heavy marbling without the gristle. The outside had a light crispy crust that broke apart like a pastry puff. I asked for a second bite which I never do. Las Brisas obviously knows how to choose a good cut of steak. We finished with dessert. I can’t remember the name, but it was the last on the list. It was apple pie with vanilla gelato on top presented on a skillet with brandy butter poured over it. It was delicious. It is very pricey so we will return for special occasions only. There is no dress code, but it makes you feel like you want to dress up.
I had an amazing birthday dinner here the other night. Grant, our server, did an excellent job at pairing our wines with our meals. I had the A5 wagyu ribeye. It was perfectly cooked, and is most likely the best steak I've ever eaten. Everything was amazing from the appetizers too desserts. If you haven't been here you need to try it out!
We were told Las Brisas is the nicest restaurant in town, and I'm inclined to believe it, even if it's the only one I visited while in Lubbock. Let me start by saying that I have hashimotos, which requires me to be totally gluten free. Most of my reviews center on bringing that info to the growing number of people who have to be careful at restaurants given their own health diagnosis. Las Brisas is somewhat sympathetic to gluten free diners, even given it's in a more rural town. That is pleasantly surprising and I am glad I was able to get a meal that I could eat besides a salad, but it's obvious they are still learning how to accommodate that. I warned our waiter at our arrival that I was strictly gluten free and he informed me that he would bring the gluten free menu. However, I had to remind our waiter that we still needed the menu a while later, so we didn't have as much time to consider our options as everyone else did. Our waiter was knowledgeable about what menu items were gf and which weren't which was nice. He was also very kind and prompt with all of the rest of our service. We ordered an appetizer sampler with one option that was gf for me to eat and different fried foods for everyone else. Unfortunately, it was covered in the not gluten free breading of the calamari it sat right next to on the plate. It would have been really lovely to have been given the consideration to plate the gf item separate. I'm sure no one thought about it twice, but it did mean we spent $60 on an appetizer I couldn't have a bite of. The food varied a bit in quality for the price, but by and large it was very good. We ordered the appetizer sampler with stuffed shrimp, crab cakes, and calamari. Though I didn't eat any of it, I was told it was good. The calamari and crab cakes were everyone's favorite. I got a side salad with blue cheese that was lovely and the Las Brisas salmon which was also good. I wanted the salmon to be more seasoned underneath the cream sauce, but I like my fish to be well-seasoned. It was very yummy and the salmon was cooked very delicately. My partner ordered the raspberry filet, which is also on the gf menu and it was To-Die-For. It was absolutely worth the price with pecan encrusting, raspberry sauce on the side, and the creamy mashed potatoes. 10/10 Entree option. I wish I had ordered it myself. All told, Las Brisas was a lovely restaurant with good service and several good options for gluten free diners.
The food was absolutely amazing, loved the atmosphere but the service wasn’t great. For spending $500 plus dollars you’d think you’d have exceptional service. Waiter wasn’t very attentive, only came a few times to check on us. Told him it was my parents anniversary and was hoping he’d do something special (like write on their dessert plate) but he didn’t really seem to care! I would try again but I really hope they train their waiters better. I’ve been to a few really nice dining places and they would do stuff like wipe off the crumbs from your table, box up your food, and constantly check on you with an extremely happy attitude. Felt like I was at a chilis with the service lol.
Excellent food and service but the atmosphere is not great of you are planning a date night because of the noise.
This place used to be top notch in the beginning the service and the food. But The quality of both has gone down in recent memory. The food used to be top of the line but now it's like they don't really care risotto comes out undercooked the portions are smaller and the prices have gone up. Service used to be A+, b in the beginning the service was five star restaurant service I remember I brought my little boy no more than about 5 months old he knocked my Martini out of my hand and they brought me another one without me even asking and at no charge. I could honestly give more examples but do not want to rant making this post longer than it should. Now, it seems like the service is just like any other restaurant it doesn't seem like a fine dining experience anymore just my honest opinion.
Our reservations were all messed up due to the online booking process but we called and they were able to get us taken care of. The food was pretty decent. The steaks came out on sizzling platters with asparagus & mashed potatoes. The steaks are pretty big and you’ll probably end up taking some home. They told us that there was no dress code but we did feel a bit under dressed as people came in wearing dinner attire. The desserts were delicious. I had the bananas foster with some sort of butter cake & ice cream & it was great. Just fyi, this place isn’t cheap so bring your wallet and prepare to spend a little for a great meal.
The calamari with jalapeños had a good flavor, was seasoned well, and was cooked to the correct temp so it was NOT rubbery 👍. Thebar atmosphere was nice but a bit dated.
I asked for the Chicken Garlic plate. I was surprised by the dimension of the piece of chicken I got for the service, it was so small that I don't even think is legal to kill such a small chicken 😂. Not good folks, if you have expensive food, you should honor that with the proper portion.
Very good food. Personal opinion but the sea bass and shrimp were over cooked. You're allowed to nit pick when you're paying $100 per person.
This was just a wonderful meal. Very few steakhouses have been able to cook my wife's steak well done and mine rare, at the same time. They even cut the woody ends off the asparagus. The food was great, and the dessert was great, too. Try the butter cake. Very n I ce place, very well done
Restaurant is expensive, high class, fancy. Wait staff was nice and entertaining. Sadly the food was mid for the price. I’ve been here previously and decided to give it a second chance. Not much more impressed than the first time. Still the place to go to if you’re dressed to the 10s, and want to go somewhere fancy in Lubbock!
A large very drunk birthday party group with obnoxious language and poor social skills ruined it for the couple next to us as well as my wife and I. The other couple left and we were able to get moved to another place in the restaurant. That said, I was unimpressed that they kept serving the clearly obnoxious and clearly intoxicated patrons. But I guess that's their problem and hopefully not someone out on the roads last night. The food was amazing and the service was too. Both Diego and John were first class. The Manhattans were top notch! Bread service amazing. They even gave me a piece of cheesecake for my birthday on the way out. Overall I can't complain but it was real disappointing.....
We haven't been to Las Brisas in about a year and while they still have the best patio and the servers are great, the food and drinks were terrible. The Chilton was overly sour with so much salt on the wet rim that it was running down the side of the glass. The twist in my martini looked like a shred of leftover lemon. There was just no care taken at all for such expensive drinks. We ordered beef carpaccio which was brown and oxidized on the edges and the crackers were so stale that we didn't even finish it and that dish is usually so good. We also ordered fries which if I had known they would be frozen instead of homemade I wouldn't have. They were mushy and bland and there was only a handful of them. We decided not to even chance getting entrées and left paying the biggest waste of $80. We also saw the food coming out and there was no way we were paying $50-$140 per entrée to get a baked potato or some sad asparagus spears as the sides. I have to say I don't know how anyone justifies the outrageous prices here.
Over rated in my opinion. Food came out at less than optimal temperature. Had the Sea Bass. Taste was good but bordered on cool. It appears that it sat while my wife’s steak was being cooked. For the prices one would expect a higher quality in service and product. It took approximately one hour and 45 minutes to dine. It is disappointing to invest time and money and not get an appropriate return on that investment. I believe there to be better options in LBK for fine .
Okay service (mostly college kids). Sat next to the kitchen where mostly just overheard employees chatting while on their phones. Dress code not enforced. Reservation through open door alright. Food and drinks were hit and miss. Steaks slightly overcooked. Check it out for the deserts.
My wife and I went to Las Brisas for our anniversary dinner. First timers, we chose Las Brisas for an excellent dinner on our special day. The grounds were beautiful, the pond and waterfall we saw upon entering the parking lot was an encouraging site. We had reservations, arrived right on time and were promptly ushered to a table; a proper place setting upon a snow white table cloth, however the silverware was spotted. Our waiter showed up almost instantly to welcome us to Las Brisas, filled our water glasses and asked our drink order (two glasses of iced tea.) The evening went downhill a bit from there. We couldn't decide on an appetizer but didn't want the sampler, we chose the Picadillo-stuffed mushroom and bacon wrapped jalapenos which arrived in a timely fashion; the mushrooms were very tasty, complex in flavor that brought joy and satisfaction to the palate; the jalapenos were ok at best, dry and hard bacon wrapped around stuffed, overcooked peppers, zero hint of spicy heat. We had to ask our waiter to bring bread to our table, even though he stated that it was coming two times before he delivered. The main entrées were 16oz prime ribeye cooked to medium for me and chimichurri chicken for my wife. They showed up also in timely fashion, about the time we were finished with our appetizers. The steak arrived sizzling on a several hundred degree plate, fabulous presentation as the butter sizzled around the darkened beef. I was surprised at the catawampas shape of the thing, thin on one end, thick on the other. I expected a tender, juicy slice of rib loin in the grade of prime; it was juicy, especially tasty dipped in its natural drippings and the sizzled butter on the plate...but it wasn't as especially tender as one might think for a prime cut. The asparagus spears were slightly less tough and fibrous than a hard lay lariat rope, I've had better at cafeterias. I was pleased with the truffle mashed potatoes, smooth, flavorful and quite delectable. I appreciated the fact that they were served in their own dish. My wife enjoyed the Chimichurri chicken, although she said she wished she had ordered something different; the risotto was well cooked and moist, the lemon- thyme Hollandaise was an acceptable compliment. The breaded breast was moist and tender with a crispy outer crust. The complexity of flavors made the entrée enjoyable. The overall experience was less than the special experience we had hoped for our anniversary. I think the quality of the meal was below par excellence, easily equated to meals at other dining establishments at half the fare. The ambience was relaxing in the sophomoric decor of the main dining area. Would I return to Las Brisas Southwest Steakhouse? Maybe. I'd like to try the Beef Wellington, but only if it's on someone else's nickel.
Arrived to judgemental girls at the reservation desk, ended up eating outside, the view around the restaurant is pleasant, appetizers were really good and the waitress worked hard but she was covering to many tables, food was slow, steaks were smothered in pepper that we did not ask for, lobster was cold. Not worth 380$. Did not meet expectations!
We reserved a table for my mother n laws birthday and my college graduation to celebrate. We eat here all the time so wanted to come to the best place in town. However, we arrive it’s cold and they tell us we have a table on the patio which was not what we reserved. We get bread after 35 minutes and never got our appetizer. We finally got our food and I get a rare steak which is not what I ordered and cold truffle sauce. By the time I got my new truffle sauce I was ready to pack up my food due to the amount of time we had been there. Needless to say we will be picking a new place for celebrations for now on. If I’m paying for an expensive steak I would like it to be cooked correctly.
The food was great, as it usually is. My only knock is the service that we experienced. I don’t usually go out of my way to post reviews on restaurants, but I just view this night in question as unacceptable. Our server, Lauren, was incredibly rude, condescending, and had a sarcastic tone that I found to be offensive. She did not care to our needs in the slightest. Our food took nearly an hour to come out (My family went with Medium-rare temp for our steaks and it was not a very busy night it seemed) and she wasn’t even around to set our food out for us when it finally did come. She did not bother to check if everything came out correctly (I asked for spinach instead of asparagus and still just got asparagus but just let it go because she wasn’t around so that I could address it in time). My daughter had an empty water for nearly half her meal. We had to ask what I assume was a bus boy to get her a refill and thankfully he served us better than she did. It seemed she would rather have conversations with any one else in the restaurant she knew, and we were a complete afterthought. The level of professionalism was nonexistent and I, myself, was embarrassed due to her negligence. I have been coming here for years and will continue to do so, but I will make sure to not have her as my server ever again.
The steak was all pepper no salt!! For the price of the food I expected higher quality. Also, my wife got food poisoning as well!! We will never go back!!!
I review other Lubbock restaurants check them out…..Went last night and I’m still trying to figure out how this place justifies a $200 price tag for this level of food. Calamari with jalapeño breading? More like a salt lick in disguise. Lobster bisque showed up with crab in it—nice try, but I know the difference. The sea bass was seared so hard it could’ve doubled as a drum. Only the tiny center was edible, and even that couldn’t distract from the stringy snap peas posing as “vegetables.” For the price, I expected an experience, not a cautionary tale. On the bright side, the cocktails were solid and the service was great—too bad the food didn’t get the memo.Places I recommend instead of this: Funky door bistro, The Reserve Tavern, Stella’s. Great food AND service
Really disappointed in the $32 lobster Mac and cheese. Never in my life have I had Mac and cheese that was loaded with onions. It's not on the menu that way so we weren't expecting that and wouldn't have ordered it, it made it taste terrible. But We weren't asked about anything at the location, just grabbed our plates and brought the bill so I didn't get a chance to say anything so I have to here unfortunately. I wouldn't even bother if it was a regular priced side but for $32 I expected more and for almost a $400 bill I would have thought I'd be asked how everything was before we left.
My girlfriend and I visited on Sunday night after hearing great reviews from multiple people. Ultimately, I was let down for the $150 price. From the start- the atmosphere of the restaurant has a “hotel dining” atmosphere. Nothing intimate, no art that makes me excited for the meal I’m about to have. Especially if the name is Las Brisas or if the restaurant is in “cattle country”- either lend itself to beautiful artwork. Neither southwestern art or ranching art were to be seen. The art on the wall looked like hotel art. Edited to add: Apparently there is no dress code? Kids were wearing shorts and baseball hats. A woman was wearing a band t-shirt. Furthering the “hotel dining” experience, rather than an upscale dining experience. Food: The bread that was served was good, not great. (Bread is something simple that can be made into something memorable, but in my opinion, Las Brisas missed the mark.) My girlfriend had the raspberry chipotle filet, which was good. I had the 16 ounce ribeye, which came with asparagus and mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked perfectly. But that was the extent of the good. The seasoning was salt and pepper- well over seasoned. The asparagus had no color and flavor, it seemed like it had been boiled in water with no seasoning- very boring and drab. The mashed potatoes were similar to something one would eat at a chain, an everyday steakhouse (Texas Roadhouse). I had a Malbec that the waiter recommended (I’m not sure the name) that was good. I just wish the food was better to go with the good wine. While I do not mind paying more for a good dinner, I do not think our experience was worth the final bill of $150.
Average steak, poor sides and absolutely missing the mark on appetizers. Steak knives are dull and not a place one would equate to $100/PO experience
I’ve thought about posting this for a long time because I don’t like to leave bad reviews, but I just can’t stop thinking about how we spent over $300 for terrible food and mediocre drinks. 0 stars for the food, good service though. We went to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. My seabass was completely over cooked and bland, the broccolini was far undercooked, and the risotto was cold. My boyfriend’s steak (the bone in ribeye) was very tough and looked like it was just thrown on the plate as the juices were splashed everywhere and cooked on the plate like it had sat under a warmer. He didn’t even want to take a picture. The truffle mashed potatoes, the salad, and the bread were good, but they were just sides. The real disappointments were the main dishes. For $55-70 a plate, you would expect high quality dishes in presentation, quality, and taste/texture. I highly recommend finding somewhere else to celebrate your special occasion, I don’t understand why this place has such a good reputation when we had such a terrible experience. We would have told a manager, but we didn’t see one the entire time we were there.
Very sad because my husband and I don’t get time away from our children very often, and we got to go on a date night tonight and there was hair on my main entree, by the time they made my replacement meal I wasn’t hungry and my husbands food was cold. All they did was offer a free desert. Pretty disappointed in service to be honest.
