Wow! Delicious! Excellent service! Peaceful! My nephew got the catfish basket with fries, hushpuppies, and a slice of onion. He said it was pretty good but next time he's getting a burger :). Momma and I had the bacon cheese burgers... DELICIOUS! Real meat and thick juicy bacon! We shared a large onion rings but next time we will skip the rings and get the CRISPY yet soft on the inside fries! (YES we stole a couple from my nephew lol). We all had shakes and they were good and we would get them again. The outdoor service provided by SUSAN was above and beyond what anyone could ask for! Leave her big tips yall!
Great customer service food was fresh and nice and warm brisket was not dry at all great tasting onion ring and bun was not soggy.on the topic of customer service great welcoming vibes all around cashier was very friendly takes the time to get to know the customer expedited order speed of service was five star.and food was brought out in a very timely manner.ten out of ten will recommend
Amazing burgers! Probably one of the best in town. I had an issue where Grub Hub had my order sitting in Limbo for well over an hour before deciding to cancel it. I decided that I was just going to pick up the order myself and the staff there was very nice and apologetic even though it was in no way their fault. I'm not sure if they refired my order but even though it was over an hour after I placed my order the food was still hot. No like warm, but hot. They even discounted my meal even though they didn't have to considering the mess up wasn't their fault. If you want some great burgers stop on in. Their food is great and customer service is top notch!
Food is delicious. Employees have a good sense of humor and are very polite and friendly. Prices are great. Deck area is nicely decorated as well. We came here after our family reunion to spend a little extra time together and it was great.
Went in the other day for a quick lunch to try it out. It's a little confusing at first as you order from the counter but it's easy to figure out at lunch time when it's packed as it was. The covored parking out front is for the drive in customers. I got a chili dog and it's was exactly what you would expect to get back in the day at your small local drive-thru. Hot dogs a grilled but were a little to salty for me but that was just my opinion. Onion Rings seems to be the favorite as everyone was ordering. I felt I missed out. So I'll have to go back again and try Burger and rings. They also have milk shakes that looks good.
This place is one of my favorites. They have the Best juicy burgers and the onion rings are off the chain. I been coming here since I was lil.. My mom Carolyn worked here when she was about 18 for a long time. If the owners sees this post pls get back to me I was told my mom is in some of the old Ray's photos.. Thanks.😇💕💓
Hadn't ate at Rays since Ray's West burnt and closed down. I was on that side of town so I decided to pick up dinner for the family. Good food takes a little time to cook. When I arrived home in Hudson, the food was still hot and tasted great.
Always love Rays, we usually call in and pick it up. The food is just as fresh and tasty when we pick it up as when we dine in.
Love Ray's home style burgers and onion rings!
My wife and I ordered cheeseburgers and fries and they were EXCELLENT!! The Strawberry Shake my wife ordered was mixed perfectly better than most Waterburgers. They did it Right. Will be back whenever we pass thru for now on.
The Ray’s Special (I get the Junior Ray’s Special) is the absolute best hamburger in East Texas. The only burger that beats it is in Columbus, New Mexico. And it is pretty darn close!!!!
We stopped in here on the way from visiting my dad in Timpson. It was a cozy little diner feeling. The food was delicious! My husband and I both got the steak fingers and be warned the batter is different but it's amazing. I think it's onion ring batter. We brought it home bc it was a lot of food and I decided to eat a steak fingers cold bc I'm lazy sometimes 😅 and it was even better cold. It didn't have any gristle it was so tender. Kids loved the burger and corn dog and the bottled rootbeer was delicious and so was the cream soda! Very good food, I can see why this is a staple in Lufkin. It keeps a nice hometown feel to an ever growing city.
Last visit to Ray's was disappointing. We dined in. Our Burgers were fine. We got cold fries and cold onion rings. Requested fresh fries and onion rings which were almost immediately replaced. Makes me wonder why we got the old fries and rings first. Our total for 2 bacon cheese burgers, fries, o rings and a medium coke was 32 dollars...probably won't be back as the burgers were fine but it seems they are not what they used to be.
Ray's Drive In, is a hidden jewel,in Lufkin Texas' crown. The food, was absolutely delicious, the service, was impeccable, and their prices were extremely affordable! (I recommend the Steak Sandwich!) Could it use a little sprucing up? Yes, but oddly that added to it's charm. I highly recommend Ray's Drive In!!!
My first experience here was awesome! They had a sonic drive in style car hop thing. I got the bacon cheeseburger and it was super juicy and good. I also got some onion rings and a small chocolate shake on the side. The server was so nice and friendly! I will definitely be coming back : ) .
1st time to eat here. Heard about Ray’s for many many years.i was pleasantly surprised. Not knowing exactly what to order from their large menu, I ordered the Jalapeno Cheeseburger. And Onion rings.i figured that if they messed up this simple order. I would not come again. BOY I was satisfied. I WILL be back. The prices were very good. Food was excellent. Next time I will venture out and order something different. Love this place. We fined inside.
There was a slip up and our order fell through the cracks. We were frustrated but they were quick to make it right. Gave us a full refund and made us our food quick and fresh! Accidents happen, what matters is that they made it right. Will definitely come again!
Haven't eaten here in years. Couldn't believe it was still there. Our daughter is 22 and today was her first time eating here. She loved it
Great place to stop and dine in or drive in and go. Some of the best home style cooking in town with fast friendly service.
1st time there. Husband had the chicken basket and I had the cod basket. Our server was a real go getter. She zoomed all over the place and provided the best service we have had anywhere in a very long time. We tipped her accordingly. She is a almost person. The prices are great. The food was hot and incredibly tasty. Thank you all for providing a great place to eat. I would definitely recommend Ray's Drive In as a keeper for the best place to eat.💞💞💞🌹
Ray's is a gem of Lufkin Texas. Great atmosphere a throw back to the old days. I have not eat anything there that I didn't greatly enjoy.
I hade the cheeseburger and onion rings and it was what an old fashion burger should be.
Their food is amazing! I have been eating at Ray’s since I was a little girl. The carhop has worked there close to 30 yrs! She does a top notch job. The food is fresh and cooked when ordered.
Great burger. Fresh meat. Good flavor. The rings are the fresh floured style and super tasty. Friendly staff. Old school drive in plus enough seats inside. I usually go for the Ray's special.
If you’re craving a real, made-to-order burger from a place with history and heart, Ray’s is the spot. Highly recommend!
I have no idea about the food, but this is my go-to destination for a large vanilla shake that is both delicious and the correct viscosity for a shake, e.g. you can drink it through a straw without requiring professional level sucking skills. Top notch.
Food was good except for the tartar sauce (it was definitely not my taste)! Fish was fried to perfection, well seasoned and delicious! We will definitely dine here again! Love the drive up service, we will do that next time.
The burgers are so good and normally I don't like onion rings however theirs are crispy perfect ❣️
Rays Drive In is a long time eating place that has been in our area for YEARS. At least 65 years of being in business and they have the Car Hops that come to your vehicle window to take orders, a drive thru window, or seating is available inside. They are known for their Trout Baskets and Steak Finger Baskets. Both come with Fries, Toast, Gravy, Tartar Sauce, Fried Onion Rings. Also known for delicious Malts and Shakes, Pie, Taco Salads, and much more. Many Assorted Menu Items!!!
Wonderful burger joint, good burger and fries. Enjoyed it very much place has lots of history and character.
Delicious, it's the best. The smells make you hungry from the time you get out of the car. It's very nostalgic!
Great burger! The kids loved the drive in and dine.
Outside dining, inside dining, in car dining. Great service with food to match. Got the steak finger basket off of a recommendation. Greatly pleased I listened.
Great steak fingers, with onion rings! Great burgers as well, a true Lufkin staple!! Hope it never goes away
Ray’s Drive-In in Lufkin, Texas is one of those classic local spots that still does things the right way. The pricing is refreshingly fair, especially for the portion sizes, and you can tell the food is made with care instead of rushed out. The burgers are juicy, well-seasoned, and taste like an old-school drive-in burger should, but the real standout is the homemade onion rings—crispy, golden, and clearly hand-battered, not frozen. The atmosphere has that laid-back, small-town charm where you can actually relax and enjoy your meal without feeling rushed. Service is fast and efficient, even when they’re busy, which makes it an easy go-to whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or hanging out for a bit. A must-try is the Durango ZubaFuzz soda, especially the strawberry rhubarb flavor—it’s unique, refreshing, and pairs perfectly with a burger and onion rings. Ray’s Drive-In is the kind of place that reminds you why local joints will always beat chains when it comes to flavor, value, and character.
Have been going here all my life. It's a great spot to be if you're family oriented and like food lol. Love the burgers and fries!
I have eaten here since before I can remember. Delicious fresh Hamburgers and onion rings. When my mom wants burgers this is our go to in Lufkin. Love the pull up and order to go area. Friendly staff.
Excellent burgers and soft serve ice cream. We were a large group and the staff were ready for us and very organized. They filled our orders really fast. It was an all around pleasant experience.
This is truly a step back in time! Ray's Drive-In in Lufkin delivered one of the best hamburgers I’ve ever had — second only to my mom’s! The atmosphere is fantastic, with a classic car-hop theme that brings all the nostalgia in the best way. I was in town getting some work done by a local practitioner at MMA, and April recommended this spot. I’m so glad she did. The food was wonderful, the vibe was perfect, and the whole experience felt like a delicious trip into the past. Highly recommended!
This is what a dinner should be, nostalgia, great folks serving up freshly made food. Beautiful wait staff with character, smiles and great service. Heirloom in a modern world, a step above fast food chains because personal touch and most important a great Hamburger and Variations. All the food was delicious and served promptly while warm. A brief visit to Lufkin brought me here, a pretty lady that walked up to us as soon as we drove up greeted us as this place also offered drive up service. She asked us if we would like to use the dinning area or if we would be ordering to go. We prompted to enjoy our meal full of charismatic locals and friendly Texan folks.
This is a great local burger joint that anyone visiting Lufkin must enjoy. Their burgers taste dramatically different than most of the other fast food places that serve hamburgers, and in a positive way! Really good juicy burgers, with grilled buns. The staff is nice, the atmosphere is amazing, and the best part is it's one of the old style retro drive-in burger joints as well.
Great burgers! A lot of fried food. Drive thru is convenient . Old style restaurant, they take your order while you pull up under the carport, and deliver it right to you !

What can you say when this place has been here more than 60 years. Yes they still have car hops! Susan is the best! The only thing that I can say bad was when the car hop dumped our drinks in our lap…
Love the food and the 60s atmosphere, always a great time to be had . Never disappointed

Excellent burger and fries. I'll be going back every time I'm in that neck of the woods
Very few of these original burger joints left complete with car hops and malts and the most delicious burgers and fries you'll ever eat. They have been in business for nearly 60 years and there's a…
Two nights in a row had a double bacon cheeseburger with bun(keto diet) a good, no nonsense burger for a fair price! Doesn't get any better than that
Gluten free and dairy free options for burgers and buns. Did not get anything fried because they were not sure of cross contamination in fryers. Food was good and cooked to order.

Stopped here on our way home to Houston with our two pups. Excellent food, especially the burgers. And they had gluten-free options!! A perfect lunch stop on our road trip.

The burgers here are really good, it just melts in your mouth, makes you want to come back for more. Its cooked after you order it and the edges of the meat has a good burnt taste. Only downside for me was the ketchup packs, tasted weird. Also, one time, my onion rings came out cold, so I couldn't enjoy it. Pretty sure it was sitting out while waiting for the other foods to get cooked, since we had a big menu.
Service is great and the burgers are good however fries are unseasoned and they tend to short you on your fries. If you order to go make sure to order your burger dry or else you may have a wet soggy bun by the time you get to eat it. Otherwise it's a great place to bring your loved ones and enjoy a meal in a local place.
Rays is a place where local people hang out and enjoy great homemade food. I enjoy the Rays Burger with Onion Rings, and most times, I order the catfish and shrimp basket, it's worth the cost. Rays Drive In also has a gluten-free menu, and my wife enjoys the gluten-free hamburger. She even buys several of the gluten-free bread to take home. All in All Rays drive-in is a great place to enjoy a delicious American Meal.
The burger was good, but it was not amazing like I've always heard. The fries in onion rings were terrible. Oh, and the chicken strips look like they came out of a freezer bag instead of being homemade.
Went in to kill some time got some sweet tea. Years ago we used to go there and have our crew meeting on Monday nights. That was good times, I miss the comraderie we shared then. The food was great then and still is. The service is still great too. I stopped by tonight to a cheeseburger and a chocolate malt. Everything was sure good.
Ray's Special has been a mainstay for years, never changes, and is better than five guys. The french fries are different than before, but if you want a great drive-in hamburger, this is a classic.
Really expensive. $48 for 2 burgers and 2 orders of onion rings. No drinks
I ordered the Texas Ranch burger with onion rings. The burger had great flavor, but the bun was a bit dry/stale and the patty wasn't as juicy as I expected. The onion rings were a bit bland. The service and atmosphere was fantastic. Overall good experience, I was just a bit underwhelmed after being told it's one of the best in Texas.
This place looks like something you'd see in Happy Days. It's a drive-in with a diner counter and s nice outdoor seating area. The theme is classic cars. Other reviewers raved about the onion rings, which were definately handmade, but tasted like straight flour. The mixed drinks were weak. But, the burgers were fabulous. I had a chili cheese burger and savored every bite.
The cheeseburger, fries, and tots were delicious! The steak fingers, fried cod, and onion rings lacked seasoning. The "trout" basket is not trout it is cod. Its a very cute little place. I will definitely come back for the burgers!
The atmosphere is great. The service was adequate. But the food was mid, at best. Cold baked potato, dusty/chalky under cooked onion rings, and a gamey burger. Maybe it was an off day?? The reviews are way better than our experience.
Ray's is the place if you're into classic cars and dining at your own pace. I enjoy Ray's, but you also know that at lunch, the line will be long. Sometimes, it moves quickly. Other times, it doesn't. I don't recommend going on a Friday unless you can commit a full hour to lunch. There have been a few times when it felt like the rush was getting to the kitchen, and maybe the onion rings weren't as flavorful as they were at other times, but generally, I find Rays to be high-quality, enjoyable food. Word to the wise: Know what you want when you get to the counter. The counter staff is trying to handle long lines. If you spent your line time talking instead of deciding, you'll likely get some attitude (playfully, of course) from the staff or other customers, but in some ways, it's part of the charm. Rays is the epitome of a local's joint. If you know, you go.
Great mom & pop style burger joint. I suggest getting the Ray's Special & the fish basket is pretty good. There's an outdoor patio & sometimes you can catch an impromptu old car show in the parking lot.
Update I decided to try it again, as the food is good. The water, however, 7 months later is still the worst water I've had a restaurant in recent memory, but the food is still good. I'll be back, but I've learned not to trust the water. We got another double bacon cheeseburger and a hotdog, with tots and onion rings. The food was all good; well recommended. ---- Bacon cheeseburger and chicken strips were very good. The water was not. I suggest a filter for water. I would not stop there again for my break particularly because of the water. I would gladly eat the food again, but if I'm thirsty, I'll stop somewhere else, on my trips through. I recommend a water filter; it'll make a huge difference.
I liked the rays burger feel like a good classic burger with a the perfect amount of onion and flavor. The meat is perfectly cooked. Thanks ! Will come back
First time trying Rays. Carhop very friendly Bacon cheeseburger & tots were delicious My husband ordered large Frito pie, a slice of pecan pie & strawberry shake. We enjoyed our meals. Glad we decided to stop by
Had a solid burger, rings and a corn dog at Ray’s last night. Fully expected a frozen corn dog, but these taste like they are hand battered. The burger was good, although the meat could have used a little seasoning. Staff was friendly. Overall a good experience and would definitely return.
Family environment great food! \nGo rays!!! Best hand packed burgers in Texas! Don't take my word...... go try them for yourself!!!
Had Seen and heard of Rays many times and think to order there lol usually when they are closed .... lol ... Was overall good food great frys Burger was good tasty but little overdone smashed to death squeeze all juices out of it over all B-
Been to this place many times each time I go it gets worse, last night I got a burger and onion rings wife got the gluten free burger.. at the start of ordering my wife asked the cashier about a question about other gluten free things, she was told nothing is gluten free cept bun.. and we've been there before and know she can have the burgers, but inquired about the BBQ sauce.. that cashier told someone else you go deal with that I'm not and I'm going on my break.... so someone else did help, she answered wife's question and we ordered.. the onion rings were completely hard and not edible(burnt flour taste) told someone about it and said that they a said they didn't know why they were like that.. and that it would be 30 mins til they can make more cause of orders.. got the bacon burger and it had 2 lil crumbled up pieces on it.. we will not be returning..
The hamburgers are good here. They ration the fries, Like it's some kind of costly item. Knowing this, I ordered The Onion rings. That was a mistake. They have this stuff You can add it's called seasoning like salt these were the crappiest onion rings I've ever had.No taste or flavor at all. My wife ordered some kind of trout basket which was cod apparently. The so called basket is A Little tray about five by eight inches and it was $ 16.97 for their trout slash cod fish basket. I mean, can they not put the stuff on a paper plate at least. We will never eat in this place again and the go to place is Zesty burger.
The steak fingers and onions rings no flavor and taste basically like chalk burgers are amazing but stop making the onion rings and steak fingers ASAP
Very confusing at first until u realize it's a counter top service. With that there is no table side service, which I'm ok with. It was a lot of little thing I observed while being here( and possibly the fact that I ordered a jalapeno cheeseburger and the jalapenos weren't present) that warented the three stars...so it may have been just our visit. None the less may be worth giving a try!
We have been coming to Rays for many years, however; about 6 months ago when dining here we were approached by an individual in the parking lot while leaving who would not leave our family alone when asked. The individual continue to approach while appearing heavily influenced by either a substance or mental illness. We had not wanted to return due to the worry caused by this incident. Today, we finally decided to try again. The SAME individual was there, appearing to be in the same state of being. We asked and motioned that we did not want to be approached and he continued anyway. He agitatedly followed us into the restaurant and caused a disturbance. I am sad to say I will probably not be back to Rays. The food has always been great and they had the best burgers, but it’s not worth it if they can’t keep their customers from being accosted in their parking lot.
I don't live in Lufkin, but I eat here when I'm in town. The food is pretty good, but I usually go to the drive thru. Today was the first time eating inside. Food was alright, but there's a concerning amount of dead American and German cockroaches in the light fixtures. The German cockroach is almost impossible to get rid of. I may have to stop coming here, what a bummer.
Visiting Lufkin, so went to Ray’s b/c I had seen it on TV & was curious. The tea was excellent, but I got a small drink, there wasn’t enough to fill my cup. I tried a couple of the sodas, but I am not crazy about the way drinks from a soda fountain taste. The 1st table we went to sit at was dirty (still dirty when we left). The burgers were good, & they were large. The onion rings were dry, cold & not crispy at all. We went on Saturday at 4:30pm. A table of 3 was ahead of us, they ordered burgers & onion rings too, we were finishing up before they got their food, & the man had to ask for it. Like I said, tea was excellent, burgers were good, but not good enough for us to go back.
I've been to a great amount of burger places and this one is kind of middle of the road, I mean my wife loves it which is a plus! (she's a picky eater) The atmosphere is very nice, sorta clean booths, cool air conditioning, radio I'd hear at The Home Depot. Staff was wonderful and kind. Very efficient too, didn't have to wait long at all for our food. They even have a microphone to call your name when your food is done, it's loud and clear so you'd never miss it. I've come here on 2 separate occasions and both times staff has been excellent. Most recently I ordered the Patty melt and it honestly was kinda mid. Definitely needed condiments, but even with the mayo I still wasn't quite satisfied. Mozzarella sticks are bomb, loved em. My wife loves the bacon cheeseburger, so if/when I do come back that's what I'll be stopping by for!
I have been going to Ray's for decades. I still like the people. The food quality seems to have gone down some and a bit high for what you get. I'll still go just not near as often

I thought it was going to be good but it fell short. I walked in and the place looked super cute but the staff was very rude and unfriendly, not a single smile the whole time. I got the chili chees…
A good place which could have been great. The burger itself was good. They asked me if I wanted mustard and mayo...I said just mayo..what did I get? Both. The onion rings were undercooked, the food…
Local favorite. Quick, friendly staff. Good selection for everyone to choose from menu board. Even offers car hop service or call in drive thru window. Hint... ask for fresh cooked fries.
Food was ok, not fabulous, but we needed a place to sit with our puppy and the outside patio was great. Large fans going and still got good service.
Used to visit once a month at least and get the ray’s special and Texas burger . The last 5 times the burgers have been bone dry despite telling them to make sure they are juicy / saucy . They didn’t fix it, considering it get gluten free buns the burgers cost if we $15 a piece . Didn’t mind paying for it when it’s AWESOME, but not it’s mediocre so NOT worth it anymore.
OMG where do I start? I grew up in Lufkin in the 80s and Rayes was a great place to eat burgers. Came home for a funeral and decided to take my wife there for a burger. It was horrible. Shedded lettuce doest belong on a burger and it tasted like it had been sitting out for a while. And all the time we waited for it we expected it to be hot and it was not. My wife had the onion rings and after one bite we had to exchange them for fries and they were just as bad. My job sends me through Lufkin every so often and I've eaten there and was always a little disappointed about something or another but this time was just awful. I'm the type if I get food I'm disappointed with at a restaurant I'll just chalk it up as a lost but this meal i actually thought about going back inside with that half eaten meal and ask for my money back. Just not the same old Reyes.
I ordered a chicken fried steak sandwich and a order of fries, the fries were 5 star, crispy and tasty. I am a chicken fried steak person and have ordered that in over 100 restaurants, and I have NEVER been so disappointed in any sandwich before, tasted like artificial coating with NO FLAVOR
Stopped in to Ray's Drive In to sample a local, non-franchised burger/hotdog spot that came recommended for tasty burgers. After extensively reviewing their menu, observing other customers' dine-in meals, and asking a couple of questions to the staff, my wife & I chose NOT to place an order, and we left. The value here is terrible- the prices are high for small portions, and that is my #1 turn-off. Almost everything on the menu, except baskets and kids meals for example, does not come with any side such as french fries or even chips. At the time of posting this review, a basic cheeseburger (by itself) made of only 3 oz. of beef costing nearly $7 (before tax)?!, Get it with two, 3 oz. patties will increase it to $11.59 !! (again, before tax, and no side included). No thanks. Also, there's nothing special about the building exterior or interior, it's just basic. The menu (tri-fold paper) is abbreviated with limited descriptions of most menu items. It's like flying half blind. Even their website is bare minimum information / content. I wish establishments like Ray's would tone down the price-gouging, improve their presentation a bit, and deliver a more fair experience to the community- you will still prosper while creating happier customers. Anyhow, best wishes...
Not sure about maybe the night I went i ordered a few things old school place been here for decades everyone's parents had a burger here when they were "their age" type place- Prices cheep to me by many modern places, and staff besides the they/them person, that created me, friendly polite person, but not what I 3xpected at a Texas way back when mom and pops place all staff was polite nice, just see food below Not sure Ray if he is still kicking and knows what they are serving now, under his name, if he is he should be ashamed if not the owners now should be, as this was just not very good at all- bacon cheese burger besides the hard over cooked bacon breaking my molars all I could taste was the sad taste of the mealy bun...no cheeseburger taste to my cheese burger . Oh the salad dressing theh called mayo that was prominent, it was large-ish, i guess filling but really no taste. I do get JR burgers at whata burger ---so... Onion Rings --- do not order you are warned.... I bought a steak sandwhich for my breakfast who does not love a chicken fried steak sandwhich in the AM....but now im like if we cant pull off a burger??? But i bet this place used to be the best in town, maybe on another night other cooks make better burgers but tonight ..nope....I'll not be back.
I am reworking my review of Ray's after three years. My husband, our grandson Eedan and I are eating at Ray's. I have eaten here frequently, since I was a child. The food is typically good, with few disappointing experiences over 45 years. My husband and I both ordered Ray's Specials. My grandson and husband both ordered tater toys with chili and cheese. I ordered onion rings, and my grandson ordered a hamburger. The food is delicious! Ray's is decorated in a cute manner, but a lot of the tables need cleaning of crumbs and grease during lunch rush. One worker is cleaning tables, in between taking orders. She needs help taking care of the front. The large, free parking lot is in desperate need of repairs. It's very rough. The restrooms are clean and stocked. I recommend Ray's! Note to visitors: Never, ever order Lufkin tap water anywhere. It's the worst tasting water, you will drink in the USA.
service was fine, the food was ridiculous! The hamburger patty was half the size of the bun, onion rings were old and cold! $30 for garbage! This place used to be good! Won't ever be back! Horrible!

Ray’s has gone down. Service was good but the hamburger Patty was half the size of the bun and the onion rings were old and cold. We won’t be back

They want to be rude just because I was stand8ng there waiting on a doordash. I didn't even say anything to them but stand there. And they wanted to help another dasher instead of me. The cook had to get someone's attention to help me. And the manager or boss or whoever wants to tell me to not come back even when I didn't even say anything to anyone. Wouldn't ever recommend this place. The staff and managers are rude.
Absolutely Not! like photos show. Couldn't even see the meat unless you pulled the buns apart & looked for it. And the meat was smashed so thin, there were coin sized holes in it, your bite might not have any meat in it. Overall it was disgusting, no flavor! Had such high hopes for the old 50's drive-in diner vibe. Disappointing!
I went to find a burger joint in Lufkin that was good. However, I and my husband both ordered 5 oz pattys and his patty was 4x the size of mine. Mine didn’t even cover the bread. It was RIDICULOUS asking me to pay $12 for such a tiny crappy burger. It was very disappointing not getting even close to the amount of food I ordered. I also ordered extra crispy tots because the lady at the front said that was an option and they didn’t come out as ordered the chili and cheese were bad. The lady taking the orders was also rude and acted annoyed when we were reading the menu which is only posted at the counter. If you’re in the service industry you should be FRIENDLY not rude. Not cool. We will not be back. It was a big waste of $40
I ordered fresh French fries and I watched them. Grab the tray and throw it back in the grease and pull it out and said those were fresh. I started eating and there's nothing but grease. And the girl at the counter argued with me and said that they come out of a bag when I sat right there and watched.
I was sooo looking forward to having the steak fingers. My husband and I were in town for a wedding and staying at a hotel. We ordered dinner from here and we were both very disappointed. My steak fingers were extremely bland... the breading had zero seasoning and tasted like flour. The fries had burned crumbs mixed in with them and they completely forgot the gravy for the steak fingers. How can you eat steakfingers wiyhout gravy, especially when there is zero flavor in the batter. Then my husband's burger was subpar and very dry and his Dr. Pepper tasted off and watered down. After having a couple bites, we lost our appetite.
We were craving a good steak finger basket and this was not it. Starting with the breading, I’ve never seen steak fingers breaded with this kind of batter which was super bland and not to mention tons of grease came out when I bit it and the breading fell apart, raw in different spots, just tasted like flour and the same thing with the onions rings just oil and flour flavor. I was totally disappointed. Do not recommend the steak finger basket.
Paid $16.99 for a single bacon cheeseburger and it was nowhere near worth it. The patty was about half the size of the bun and not very thick. Fries portion was small too. Then I noticed the “Ray’s Special” double patty is $14.49 (before tax)… so a smaller single costs more? I don’t get the pricing at all. Won’t be back.
