This place has always been a good place to eat. Good food great customer service. The owner is super friendly and very respectful. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone who hasn't tried them. Not to many places in Lufkin TX give you thus kind of service.

I've been eating at Skyline for years now, and they are delicious! I normally just stick to simple stuff like queso and ground beef nachos with their spiciest salsa, but despite the simplicity it's awesome. The staff is all incredibly friendly, and will try to help you if you have an issue. It really does taste homemade, so when you're finished eating you don't feel like you've just eaten a lot of junk. I'd recommend them to anyone wanting a quick meal in Lufkin.

Skyline is a locally owned business that has been in Lufkin for years. They're food is amazing with various options to choose from. Anything from Nachos to tacos, to burritos and burrito bowls. I personally recommend the cilantro lime chicken and the cilantro lime rice.

Stopped here a few weeks back while I was visiting family. Where I live in Tennessee there is not a place like this and I must say, this place was AMAZING!! Staff was extremely helpful in offering choices. Give huge portions. I would definitely go back if I ever come to the area again.

This is authentic food. I've been going to Skyline for tacos and burritos since they opened in the Mall with some ideas and some of grandmas recipes. The theme and recipes are just a good at the new location. Edit Nov 10 2017 TD;LR: I've been twice this week to Skyline and have had an excellent time each visit worth updating my praise for these guys and their staff. The service has been prompt and friendly. I love to chatter with the folks making my food and they never let me down. If you want to try Mama's Brisket as your meat go on Friday or Saturday. Thursday I got the burrito with cheddar flour tortilla, cilantro lime steamed rice, cilantro lime chicken, half scoop black beans, some lettuce, extra cheese, and sour cream. Needless to say this was exactly what I wanted and they carry cane sugar glass bottle Coca-cola. I got through about 80% of my burrito and was too full to continue. The service was great and the group spoke so highly of entire visit that we had to go again the next day. Friday we arrived with an entire contingent from work and ordered the gambit of the menu. We were served very quickly and the people never stopped flowing in the entire hour we ate. The staff is only too happy to oblige if you want your food to go. We had Taco Salads(baked and fried shells), Burritos, Street Tacos, Big Nachos, Little Nachos for our food stuffs. It was again delicious and as we learned on Friday and Saturday you can order Mama's Brisket as your meat selection. Next visit I'll update photos.

The BEST place to eat in Lufkin! I love that they don’t put peppers in their pico de gallo or guacamole because I have allergies and this makes it easy for me to go out to eat! The cilantro lime ranch is incredible and everything is always so fresh. The employees are very friendly and always in a good mood. For $11 I can get a monster burrito bowl with everything that I want. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Absolutely my favorite restaurant in the state of Texas. Family owned, amazingly friendly people and they enjoy talking and making relationships with their customers, and on top of that obviously arent afraid too stand up for themselves on the reviews. If you have a one star experience at this place it was a dead honest mistake or youre just a miserable person! That just shows the confidence this place has! They catered our wedding of around 70ish people and it went more than smooth. The prices are reasonable and the service absolutely is the best in lufkin I will recommend Skyline to anyone.

I was visiting Lufkin and the food here is great and so is the service. I ordered the nachos and love how fresh the chips were, and they did not get soggy fast like most tortilla chips. Mama's famous brisket was tender and seasoned perfectly. I cannot forget the delicious turtle cheesecake that I had for dessert. I will definitely eat here again the next time I visit Lufkin!!!

Hey look BEST IN TOWN!!! Owners are THE BOMB!!! Great friendly service. My kiddos are super picky and do NOT have a problem getting them to eat. EVERYTHING on the menu is great. Hands down best in town. Cucumber lime homemade drink is my favorite and Cupcakes by Christina there are FANTASTIC!!! I had the hot chocolate flavor and WOW!!!!

We just ate at this local gem in Lufkin. The brisket is divine, the Spanish rice soft and flavorful, and the charro beans are a creamy cocktail full of flavor with an earthy depth. Then there is dessert. The only time my daughter has eaten the cake before the frosting on a cupcake. The staff is friendly and helpful. They made us feel welcomed and like we'd known each other for years. 5 Stars 🌟 Highly Recommended

I absolutely LOVE this place. It has been my favorite restaurant for years and I go almost every Saturday. The staff never fail to talk to me and remember who I am and the food is always amazing. As someone with a lot of social anxiety, I feel comfortable eating here because everyone is always so amazing. I bring all of my friends and family here and have never heard a bad word about it from anyone. I wish happiness on everyone who works here and know that those who eat here will experience that happiness as well.

Chipotle really has nothing on Skyline. The staff were very courteous and friendly and the serving/dining area were both clean. There is plenty of parking available. It was all delicious and we will be repeat customers.

Stumbled upon this place with my boyfriend today based off of good reviews online. We went in and it was empty, so we told the man at the counter it was our first time and he gave us a tour of the menu and explained how the operation worked. He was very friendly and helpful. I had a lady make my burrito bowl and she willingly gave me a small sized burrito bowl in a bigger box (with no charge) because I told her I didn’t want it to get messy. All of the workers were so kind, friendly, and helpful! The food was amazing as well. I got a burrito bowl with corn, cilantro, onions, lettuce, cilantro lime chicken, Mexican rice, refried beans, tomatoes, sour cream and cheese. It was delicious! Genuinely the best burrito bowl I have had. Shortly after we arrived, the place started to fill up. The line was backed up to the door! I will be making the trip back to Lufkin soon for another bowl. :)

This was my first time eating here, and I must say the next time I travel through lufkin it is a MUST stop. The food is excellent! The service is excellent! 10/10 well worth the stop.

It smells like Mexican food when you walk in! 🌮🔥 I came during lunch (1st visit), and the ladies behind the counter were super nice and walked me through the order process. As one of them put it, "it's like a Mexican food Subway"🤣 I got the nachos, and it's enough for two people!!! I highly recommend this place and I will be back. This was the fastest, most efficient food line I've ever seen! The employees clicked so well together. I got the burrito bowl with seasoned rice, charro beans, cilantro chicken, and various toppings. It was spicy but I think that may have been due to the salsa I got on top as that had a serious kick. There were probably 10 people in front of us and we were sitting down with our food within 10 minutes of walking in the door. Definitely recommend!!

They have great food with generous portions. It is just good eating. I see lots of locals eating there when I go. Workmen, law enforcement, health care workers. To me, if it appeals to the people who live there, it is a good place to eat, and it is.

I don't know what happened, but the last two times I've eaten here... Of all the restaurants in Lufkin, this was the one that had consistently good food. Now? I can't even type it. I'm just going to hope those experiences were nothing more than anomalies and wait some time before returning.

Stopped by because I passed through town. Server told me chicken and brisket were most popular. I tried chicken nachos and brisket burrito bowl. The nacho chips were the best I have ever had. I would recommend them for sure! The chicken was a bit dry even though it’s in juice when being served. So many topping options which I love. I would like an option for spicy salsa and sour cream that could be served on top of the nachos or burrito bowl more like a creama instead of a dollop off to the side. I’m a sour cream lover so this could be a personal preference. The service was great. Even though the style of restaurant requires constantly telling the attendant what you want on your plate the man that helped me still kept up conversation asking if I had a good morning and asking about my trip and wished me safe travels when I was leaving. I was unable to use Apple Pay because their machine wasn’t working so I had to grab and didn’t expect this would cause others to have to wait on me in order for them to pay for their food. The togo container made everything nice and compact my husband wasn’t able to eat and drive (I should’ve went for the burrito). I tasted the brisket and it’s not my favorite. I would compared the texture to chipotles barbacoa? Nice joint! Obviously the reviews and good crowd there shows this is a local favorite !

The food was pretty good (I had a chicken quesodilla), but I didn't care for the chips, that were kinda thick. The guacamole needed salt but was otherwise fresh and good. There's a large seating area with tables and booths. Service was good, and like most burrito places it didn't take long to get my food.

The food here is well done. The meats are seasoned and flavorful, and they load your order up with all options chosen. This place beat most on selection. The nachos I ordered were crisp to the last bite. The service line was also immaculate. Maybe the top choice in Lufkin for TexMex. What really made this place special l was the service. Staff go out of their way to greet you, and make you feel right at home. Best service I have seen in a while.

My family and I recently had lunch at this location. The staff that we interacted with was very friendly and helpful, and made our first visit to this chain feel very welcoming. Unfortunately, the good vibes stopped there. After paying a good bit more than we expected, we discovered that the taste of our food was not all that great. The meat was dry and mostly flavorless, and the other ingredients were really unremarkable as well. The food was hot and the portion size is were good, so I do appreciate that, but there really isn't much else positive to say. A couple folks in our party didn't even finish their meal. The rest of us begrudgingly made sure to at least eat our money's worth. Their fountain drinks were crisp and delicious, so that's another plus. The restaurant had only just opened, and it was surprising at how mediocre it felt on the cleanliness scale. Our table was still a little bit sticky, and the atmosphere was sort of damp. The restrooms were almost unbearable in that they smelled horrible and there was almost no air circulation in them. I do also appreciate that there was family-friendly music playing, which is not always the case when you visit a place that serves this kind of food. Perhaps our expectations were wrong, but we went in expecting our food to be something at least on par with Freebirds, Überrito, or even Chipotle, but honestly it was basically mediocre gas station taco quality. As we left, the place was packed. Lots of patrons. So maybe the locals have had better experiences than we had. Or maybe they just don't know any better. I wouldn't encourage anyone not to try this based on this review, just go in with proper expectations. It may or may not be what you're looking for.

The food is delicious but expensive, and the reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because the ordering process when their busy is horrible. The person taking your order moves down the stations far faster than you do in the line, and you have to shout your order at them or just accept a plate that doesn't have everything you wanted on it. This is a very awkward process. So overall I would only recommend eating here when their slow.

Pro tip. Don’t order extra ranch unless you want ranch soup. This is the second time I’ve ordered to go and received this. In person and online ordering is usually not like this. I can’t help but think it’s the same person? I like ranch obviously but this is very close to inedible, really ruined it for me.

I was able to try this place for the first time the other night because it came highly recommended, but I was left disappointed. Even though the employees were great and respectful, the food was just not good. I ordered a burrito and essentially got this mess, as you can see in the photo, lol. It just completely fell apart after unwrapping it. On top of that, the steak was just RUBBERY as hell !!! It was pretty packed the day I came, so idk maybe I just got a 1 off bad experience. But it's not worth giving it another try, imo for the price!

I've always been pleased with the service, food quality and generous portions at Skyline...but tonight was an exception. Ordered a Burrito Bowl and apparently got a server who was on their first night on the serving line. The amount of each item placed in my bowl seemed to be on the stingy side, and when I mentioned it, the server proclaimed, "You want more, that'll be an extra charge." (I'm talking veggies here, not meat & cheese). Server seemed to be having a bad night, so didn't confront them. Got home & finished off the burrito; was still hungry after eating the whole thing (I usually have plenty left over for lunch the next day). I realize the cost of food has skyrocketed in the past few years, but I definitely did not get my $10.00 worth for the meal tonight. I'm willing to give Skyline another chance, but if they continue skimping on ingredients, I'll have to look elsewhere for a good burrito. I just hope this was a one-time incident and not a harbinger of things to come...

It’s extremely frustrating to have to write this review because I do love the food here. I never have problems when I am in the establishment taking the order in person. However, a lot of us work while having limited time to eat there or make the order in person so I result to online ordering for pickup. I’m not sure what is going on within these two weeks, but the order has never been correct when resulting to the online system. Last week, I had missing items in my bowl which resulted in me not even eating much of the order. Today, the extra cilantro chicken was not added. Again, I enjoy the food here, but being charged $15 multiple times when the plate was not complete feels like I’ve been stolen from. I truly hope management speaks to the team about expectations and providing the correct ingredients when it comes to online orders. They all seem very sweet but we are paying customers and when we pay for food, we expect what we ask for. This will be my last order from this location.

I gave this place a try after seeing all the great reviews on here and figured if it’s always busy, it must be good, right? Well, I ordered different burrito bowls for variety, but it was dry, lacked flavor, and the portion was pretty small. Most of the taste came from the toppings, and even that was underwhelming and tasted like I could just make this at home. I’m giving it two stars instead of one because at least the staff was really friendly and upbeat. I wouldn't rank this place as one of my favorites in my opinion and I think there are better spots in town than here

Don’t come here. My water had more flavor than any of my food. This was the equivalent of white people taco night. They must be anti-seasoning I was hunting for salt and pepper packets like my life depended on it. Don’t order sour cream in your burrito because you will be wearing it. They must not know how to make a burrito right because you had sauce on one end and sour cream on the other. In the middle was rice cakes and 7 pieces of chicken. Nachos… I don’t know how you ruined nachos but ya did. Queso so thick ya kid would think it was playdough. Who ever voted best burrito must not have taste buds or they think just salt is adequate seasoning.
