Awesome restaurant! Our sixteen year old picked this for birthday dinner and names it his "top one" restaurant. Great pasta, chicken strips for kiddos, yummy dessert, great bread, and really good service! Nice booths and music was perfect volume.

Delicious house made pasta and Italian food with friendly staff and good prices. Would highly recommend!

Currently enjoying he best ravioli I have ever had! We were here late, so it was not busy, and the food was out in under 10 minutes. Our waiter was very pleasant, great manners, and gave great recommendations for my wife (who enjoys experiencing new things).

We have been to Nonno's many times and always been delighted with the high quality of the meals. The service is prompt. The food choices are delicious. My favorite items were the Shrimp Bisque, and the Tiramisu that we had with our main dish.

Food is great and staff is friendly! The penne was cooked perfectly and the pesto and salad were very fresh. Meat sauce in the lasagna was delicious. Great place to go for reasonably priced and filling lunch!

We had a wonderful dinner with amazing food and drinks! Nonno’s was a perfect choice for a holiday meal with family, nice atmosphere but not too fancy. The prices were good for the delicious food we got

My friend and I shared the Piadina con Pomodoro which was fresh and tasty. I thoroughly enjoyed the rigatoni special and my friend was delighted with the chicken piccata.

Food was amazing!!! The bolognese was so good, it was like melt in your mouth goodness. The lobster manicotti was also sooo buttery with a good amount of lobster in it!! The dessert was also amazing and sooo creamy in the best way possible!

I took my daughter up to Madison to do some school shopping. We ran across this cute restaurant so we decided to give it a try and I am so happy we did. I LOVED the food! Literally ate my entire pasta dish!! Plus the bread as an appetizer was very delicious! For dessert, we tried a canoli and it did not disappoint! I was very impressed with our experience and plan on visiting again in the future!!

I'm in town for a bridal shower and figured I should eat before heading home. I saw Nonno's pop up on nearby restaurants. I will definitely take the 2 hour drive to come back. I was seated right away, all my questions were answered attentively and the food was SO tasty! The restaurant was so clean as well! Will definitely be back!

Stephano and his family are beyond incredible! This is a small but very cozy and quaint restaurant. As soon as you walk in Stefanos wife is there to greet you with a huge smile. I had to wait to be seated and decided to have a drink at the bar and watched everybody enjoying their time there. This is a family setting and invites you to stay for a while. I had a glass of the family sangria, Which is made by Stefanos wife. After a few minutes, I was seated at a great table towards the back with a wonderful view. This is a quieter table and my waiter came to greet me with bread and olive oil immediately. I started off with an appetizer of Cozze Marinara / Bianco (mussels). My experience with mussels has always been that they are either really really good or extremely bad. They were phenomenal! Very tender but full-bodied, and I was served a generous portion of them. For my entree I had the Chicken Maria. I could go on about how phenomenal the meal was, however, it’s easier to just say I couldn’t stop eating it. It was even a little sad when it was over. I loved it that much. As full as I was I couldn’t resist embarrassing myself by trying their tiramisu for dessert. It went great with another glass of red wine. Nonno, You and your family have done a beautiful job with this ristorante! It’s not just a place to eat, but a beautiful dining experience. I will be back again and again and again! Chaio!

Nonnas is not charging enough for the quality and quantity of food you get. The handmade pasta was a beautiful texture. The sauces were fresh and delicious. The cream based sauces weren't greasy. The red sauce was fantastic on the lasagna. We came an hour before closing which I was a little nervous about, but every was fresh and hot and tasted amazing. An average meal will cost you $16 but they could and should be charging $20+ a plate. Served quickly and the waiter was attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic Italian cuisine for an affordable price. I love Italian food but more often than not, thr authentic Italian restaurants cost upwards of $20-30+ a plate. The interior of the restaurant js beautiful with plenty of seating for a variety of group sizes. The meals were affordable for our budget. All the pasta is made in-house and you can tell. The food was rich with flavor and the portions were perfect (not too little, not too much). I left feeling satiated and satisfied. The service was explemplary and would highly recommend for anyone looking for delicious Italian food but can't afford the triple dollar signs.

Definitely a go to for us on the West Side. Have tried several menu items and all have been great. The service always makes you feel welcome and the prices are very reasonable.

This is a wonderful Italian Restaurant. Our server was very nice. The food was delicious and the service was prompt and personable. I had the chicken marsala, which was phenomenal! The restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend making Nonno's your go-to Italian place.

Incredibly authentic Italian! Loved the al dente Rigatoni Bolognese, and the Cannoli is exactly like my Chicago childhood friend Rosetta's Nonna Rose used to make. Super excellent service, atmosphere, and music. Wow!!! Thank you!

So I will start off by saying that the decor does not match the food. It gives me '90s Mexican restaurant vibes, like Carlos O'Kellys or something. BUT the food is absolutely phenomenal. We first went here for Restaurant week in 2023 and were knocked out by the quality of the food. The service was exceptional as well. Restaurant staff were responsive without hanging over our shoulders. I cannot eat Italian food often as it usually makes me sick, so when I do have it (it was my favorite food growing up), I will eat here. Enjoy, please give them your business!

This place feels like home. It's a mellow atmosphere with quality entrees. I've had some great dinners with friends many a time. This my friends is what I call "a fine Italian meal".

I was in the area and saw this restaurant and decided to try it for lunch. It was great, food was delicious. The calamari was well cooked and my pasta was delicious.

Truly a great restaurant with amazing food. It doesn't look like much from the outside but it's a date worthy restaurant for sure on the inside.

I ordered the Gnocchi Alla Crema Di Salvia with added chicken for pickup on a weekday afternoon. The gnocchi was not as soft as I would have wanted but the sauce was rich and creamy. Toasted bread was included as well to help scoop up the delicious sauce.

We enjoyed a Saturday dinner at Nonno's. It was not too crowded and we were sat right away. The atmosphere was cozy. I appreciated that it was not too dark. We had the calamari as an appetizer and it was delicious. Light breading and tender calamari. We had a variety of dishes, which ranged from excellent to slightly underwhelming. The desserts of profiteroles, chocolate lava cake, and creme brulee were all good.

Great atmosphere (loved the booth seating) and service! They gave us some delicious bread as we looked over the menus (warm & fresh - it was honestly my favorite part of dinner). Sadly, the margherita pizza was underwhelming and tasted more like a normal cheese pizza. The penne ricotta e pomodoro was better, but I didn’t love it. Anyways, the food was a bit disappointing overall (maybe the meat options taste better?), but I loved the atmosphere, service, and bread.

If looking to dine Italian in Madison this is a must stop. Great food and service. Also happily accommodated any food or dietary restrictions, no alcohol sauce and no meat mixing, just ask! Would stop by again

Visited Nonno’s during restaurant week. We ordered off of the regular dinner menu, and enjoyed the food. Staff was friendly. They brought out complimentary bread and olive oil. I thought the fried calamari appetizer was delicious! It took us a while to get seated as we waited by an empty host stand for 5 minutes or so. We had a reservation though so once someone greeted us we had a table right away.

My son and I came here for dinner. It was our first time eating here. The food was good. we got our bread a little later than expected. The service was decent

Some of the food was fantastic and some was a bit disappointing. None of the food was bad at all but the food definitely varies in quality. The pizza was subpar but the pasta was great. We will definitely be back to try different things

Meal starts with a very off-putting bread that doesn't seem fully baked. The $5 upcharge for the ceasar salad a good choice, flavorful dressing and fair amount. The veal saltimbocca was a hair off, mostly due 2 the veggies which were supposed to be grilled but seemed not, and the wierd composition which was heavy on celery and carrots and low on broccoli and asparagus so not a good fit for this or any italian dish.

I had the opportunity to dine today in this beautiful establishment. When my sons and I arrived, we waited a few minutes without any acknowledgment .Then a group of people came in, and they went straight into helping them I spoke up. It was corrected right away. Now lets get into this delish food. I am so glad I did not leave because of my first encounter. Food was amazing tasty and fresh. I will be back!!

Made a reservation and upon arrival....was seated quickly. Ordered one glass of wine but 2 were served; returned. Ordered salads with our entrees. Bread and oil/vinegar served 1st. Salads took 15 to 20 mins to be served. Pasta dishes were delicious and served soom after salads. Ordered their special which tortellini and was hearty. Portions were plentiful. Staff were friendly.

We were the only customers there, though I wouldn't say the place should be empty. The food was alright and the portions are decent. The price is consistent with the Madison area, though I feel that the quality of the dishes lags behind competitors. Little things like the protein portion seeming to be held back or the food being a bit too salty. Easy improvements to be made with quality control.

This was our third time here, and the worst of the three visits. Very crowded, but that is usually a good sign. I ordered the ribeye steak with asparagus and polenta and mushroom sauce. The presentation was very nice, but that was about it. The steak was pretty much less than 1/2 inch thick. I ordered it medium rare. My meal was the last one brought to our table of 5. The steak was beyond well done and dry. The polenta was so dry my fork clicked the plate when I cut through it. I rarely send anything back, and everyone was close to done, so I ate it. There were a couple of bites that tasted good but still dry and well done. I told the waiter, and he apologized, but that was it. I told him it was too late to send it back. He never had a manager visit us or offer to comp anything. He then disappeared for over 20 minutes. Everyone was dome, drinks empty, and we just waited. He finally came when we asked to see our server. He had the balls to ask if we wanted desert. Not going back, 3rd strike.

Spaghetti that we ordered had very little sauce on it. For $15 a plate I guess I would expect more. Id only advise you to eat in as takeout isn't the same tier quality as their food is if you dine in. Completely different experience ordering out vs dining in.

Went there on a Sunday for lunch. Not busy at all yet the service was awful. Slow, never asked if we wanted drinks which was odd. Then brought bread, should be hard crusted Italian bread but instead was a terrible, dry concoction. Don’t understand that one at all. Food was mediocre. We will never return.

Food was okay. I didn't like the red sangria. It tasted sickly sweet. The tiramisu was very chocolately & was very soggy. Carbonara is very creamy but I felt like the added $4 chicken i ordered to be quite skimpy. The mushroom ravioli in the brownie gravy is good. Fresh baked bread is good. Service was friendly. Overall it was pricey for the quality.

Edit: No longer a nice place to eat at unfortunately. I don't reccomend at all! Wonderful local Italian restaurant. We came and got in right away even though it was packed. They have great food and a very sweet staff. I'd come back any day. It's a great family friendly restaurant.

Worse decision of my 4-day Madison stay. My phone was dead because I was at the hospital with my son I looked online at each restaurant carefully all day. I thought this would be the winner. It said fresh pasta and by the picture it looked saucy online. Either way I asked for extra sauce. The sauce was barely on the pasta and it was so small it looked like a butter spot underneath just enough to wet the 4 chicken bites under the pasta as well. The extra sauce was so watery I knew heavy whipping cream or parmesan wasn't even a thought in the making of it. Noodles were dry and hard. Chicken tasted like it was the Walmart pack of fajita meat. If I didn't know better I'd say they served us a tv dinner. They gave us a cup of vinegar with a black drop in it so I'll guess that was balsamic but yuck. Bread was not garlic it was just 4 bread sticks but they were what we ate. Very poor choice and paid $44 for two. My boyfriend wanted to take it back but we just threw it away in the hospital. Showed and told the nurses and they agreed on the. I will never eat here again.

For a Wednesday early evening they really were not crowded. Our waiter seemed rushed to take our order but then disappeared. Service was slow and inattentive. Food was blah. 140.00 for four people seemed expensive. Go to Olive Garden for more delicious food and attentive service. Sorry guys your place is a loser.
