The food came out super fast. The chicken was super tender the hot honey chicken was sweet and spicy very good. About 12 chicken wings. Everything was really good highly recommend.
Overall a lovely cafe/upscale dinner to visit if you're in Malahide, especially if you've been walking for long on the beach and built up an appetite. The price isn't for nothing, but there fees are fair and the food is nicely done, well prepared, and has a nice presentation. My partner and I were there around lunch time and while it wasn't packed, it was fairly busy. By the time we left though, there was a long queue of people waiting for tables to become free. We got lucky not having to wait given how beautiful and sunny a day it was, but for those looking to eat here, it might be best to cook ahead to make sure you aren't stuck in a line for a long time. Overall, recommended. PS: they have a really nice outdoor seating area that I wish we had dined in,. Probably that we didn't given I was already sunburned 😅
Great location, kind and friendly staff, awesome food presented well and kind on the pocket. All in all a great brunch place for a friends or family. Good to book the table in advance as the place is packed on weekends (rightly so - who wouldn’t like a good fine dine cost-effective brunch)
I came here for my friend’s hen party brunch. the staff were friendly and kind to us. we had a lovely variety of brunch choices and also tasty brunch for vegan person! everybody had a good time and I would like to visit again when I’m around.
We had a fantastic brunch. Loved the vegan options. Thank you for offering a variety of vegan options and not just one. The food was fab and the chai latte was so nice we came back for more after our walk. The staff are some of the friendliest and polite I've ever had. The staff are a major credit to the restaurant.
What a lovely restaurant, so glad we came across it. We had brunch £38 for 3 excellent value & fabulous tasting food. Huge Irish breakfast with everything you could think of, fabulous scambled egg which was huge. Food was made very promptly, hot & tasty well presented. Lovely setting, amazing cakes, only little niggle initial ordering was a little slow. Would highly recommend.
Visited this morning for breakfast. The service was excellent, it's clear the place is well managed. Despite being busy the atmosphere was lovely and the staff were very friendly. Our server happily checked foods in the kitchen to meet my allergy needs. Generous servings and delicious fresh food. Lovely experience!
Was very busy when we visit and couldn't get a seat but all wasn't lost as we had take aways
First time here and it was fabulous, atmosphere, food , service and staff all exceptional.. Will definitely be back 😍
First time visiting. The staff were really friendly, the atmosphere lively and welcoming. I had the Goats Cheese Salad which was superb. Portion was so big I had to have half of it packed up to take home for my dinner. Will be back for sure.
Food with a View... This is a very spacious and scenic location with a wide range of delicious wholesome food. I ordered the Turkey Ruben with a cup of soup. I'd be lying if I said I didn't regret getting something different but it was still nice. Staff were very friendly and food arrived to the table very quickly considering how busy it was. If I was to say one negative thing about the place is that it was far too noisy for such a peaceful looking location but that's just a personal thing. Will come back when it is a bit quieter next time. Thank you.
I came here for breakfast with family and ordered the traditional Irish breakfast aka the Farmhouse Breakfast. It was DELICIOUS. The restaurant is great, there is plenty of open space with large booths perfect for families, the food is excellent, and the service is great.
Good food, has vegetarian options, great service, very clean place! There are good vegetarian options, especially for breakfast/brunch. The portions are substantial and tasty. Had a latte. Coffee was not not freshly roasted and the milk not very well frothed. But again, it's like this in most places in Ireland 😅 so I did not expect something else. The chai latte however was very flavoured (i think it's made from powder) and sweet. We quite enjoyed it. The service was great! Very friendly staff 😍 Close to this place, the beach is wonderful nice sight and perfect for a walk.
Had the Kickstart Breakfast and a friend had the Vegan Irish Breakfast. Food was lovely which was accompanied with a great view of the Irish Sea. Plenty of Vegan and Vegetarian options available. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a fantastic breakfast!
The food is very good and the staff lovely. I really like this place because of the atmosphere, big tables and not really noisy.
This is one of my go to places for a bunch with my sisters or friends, the restaurant is always very welcoming and the staff are friendly. I would advise to make a reservation ahead of time cause they can be very busy.
Had Saturday lunch with my 14yo son after his match. I had the club sandwich and a black coffee. Sandwich was superb, very fresh and plenty of filling. Very good and HOT black coffee too. My son had the breakfast bagel which he loved. Keep up the good work.
The food is delicious 😋 Nice place with a lovely sea view. Better book a table in advance as it's busy. Recommend 100%
Delicious coffee and cake with very accommodating staff and fast service. Inside the restaurant it’s a bit noisy but that’s the only negative thing I could think of. We enjoyed our time (even without a reservation) and were delighted by the reasonable prices (10€ including tip)! Until next time 👍
Great location, and the food and service were excellent!!
Lovely breakfast bap, couple with friendly staff and comfortable environment are just what you need for a meet-up with good friend.
Got the full Irish breakfast and the quality of the food was amazing. Really decent sized portions as well. Would definitely visit again.
Three pals and I went for a brunch on Saturday, service was excellent. All staff were wearing masks, social distancing was observed and hand sanitising facilities were ample. Food is also 10/10. Can't fault it.
Had a meal here with my family and the experience here was brilliant!! The staff was lovely the whole time and spoke really nicely. The food was delicious, I'd recommend the smash burgers as the main course. The mocha was delicious. The soup of the day was nice as a starter, not too filling. The oero brownie was just a bot too filling and hard but tasty still. Can't recommend this place enough xx
The entrance was a bit hard to find, the food was amazing. Ordered the buttermilk pancakes with the berries and whipped cream with lots of maple syrup, that syrup is to die for. You should definitely check it out. The view was incredible, the service was great.
Its my first time and im very happy with my decision. Beautiful service, delicious food, friendly staff.
Met my friends there. Ordered the Farmhouse Plate breakfast. Presentation was good, service was quick. But the food became lukewarm quite quickly and the two slices of pudding were like hockey pucks. Maybe it was just very busy or I made a bad choice on the day. Great location, staff friendly and all my friends enjoyed their food.
We arrived 10mn before last service and they let us have a table coffee cake and crepes after a cold sea swim. Staff came smiling even if we were just through the door. A few families still there. Main window has a view to the sea. Food was standard gourmet parlor. Prices also. But just what we needed. So thanks for not turning us away. A pity it closes at 5 on a Sunday. 'ot many places around opened without going to a pub or restaurant in malahide.
We came here for brunch without a booking. Thankfully they accommodated us but only for an hour because they’re fully booked. The food arrived quickly. Service is spot on. Full Irish breakfast is delish! Kinder bueno pancake is ordinary. Hassle free parking is a bonus!
Busy brunch spot near the seaside in Malahide. The food is pretty good but the place gets really busy and the quality of service may vary. I would advise to book a table in advance. I enjoyed the Buttermilk chicken with poached eggs and sriracha hollandeise sauce. The best part of the brunch was the lemon merengue pie! Very nice and fluffy 😋
When for a sunday brunch with my family and the food was amazing, especially the chicken eggs benefict. Service and atmosphere was great too. Will definitely be coming back.
It's a beautiful place to dine, great view of the sea, affordable prices, service is smooth and the staff are really nice as well. I can only recommend it to everyone. 😊
Great value for money in terms of portion size. Food was really good, they have wide brunch menu. Staff are super friendly and the place was neat with a nice view over the sea. The place has kids area just behind it, and plenty of free parking spots available. I highly recommend it when visiting Malahide area.
Great place but very loud. The noise of people talking and having the kitchen in the middle can make talking a bit difficult. Other than that, the service is good and the food quality good as well! Also, the location and view is outstanding.
Great experience here today. Lovely waitresses looking after us. The only flaw is the wait after ordering our food was about 40 minutes - drinks had certainly been consumed in that time frame. It wasn’t that busy either. Maybe 3/4 full. Otherwise tasty food.
Gourmet Food Parlour in Malahide offers a delightful dining experience with a varied menu of tasty dishes. The ambiance is cozy, and the staff is welcoming. It's an ideal spot for brunch, with generous portions and delicious options!
In average the service is decent. The place is very cosy and nice! The Coffee was good, pancakes were soft and tasty. The only issue was the waiting time, we had to wait 30 minutes for a table and after we ordered, 15-20 minutes more until we got the food. I believe that you could book a table in advance. That would help, it was our first time here too. We spent 36€ in 2 latte + 2 portion of pancakes + two side of scramble eggs. It is not cheap. Locals come very often to this place.
Perfect for young kids, right beside a good playground and across the road from the beach. Brunch was nice though the hollandaise sauce was awful and eggs over cooked so choose carefully!! Cakes looked great! It’s noisy at the weekends with kids just to be warned!!!
Family favourite. I feel Swords GFP branch is slightly better for food but atmosphere and service is better in Malahide. Will certainly return.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming to our family. Food was a little disappointing. Had Eggs Benedict and the eggs were just very bland, no flavour. The hollandaise sauce didn't even mask the fact they were just watery eggs. The wife had the veggie brekkie and the eggs were the same. The kids had pancakes and were happy out. Real shame about the eggs, bad egg day!??!
Bit disappointed with this one. Came because of the reviews and some friends recommendations. Very slow customer service, even though, place was half empty. Waited almost an hour to get our food. Even coffee we had to ask a staff member to please bring it as it was getting cold. Our food was warmed up in the microwave. We wanted to order dessert but gave up as everything took too long. Staff seems busy with whatever their tasks were but poor attention to customers. Table was never cleared. Food had no wow factor. At this price is not worth it, maybe breakfast would be better here.
It was good overall. Food was yummy, kids loved it, and the service was the only thing I would improve.
What is wrong with this place? The service is absolutely terrible, overpriced, food and undertrains staff. I can only say, keep going.I don't know what's wrong with this place. But the service is atrocious, if the coffeemaker can't even look after 2 people at the counter, the individual should not be in the job. I won't even give the coffee maker at the proper title. I tried to get coffee and food in this place.Twice, and my wife and company had to walk out.Because the service was so bad, i will not if it's the last coffee establishment that area. I will not be saving foot in this again.
Hi, I came to gourmet parlour at about 10 am this morning myself & my husband drove out from kildare to bring my son to a football match which is next door. I always bring my sandwiches, scones flask to the matches just in case there’s no café near .but if there is cafés in the area, we always love to support them it’s good to support local businesses when you’re visiting .when we pulled up and we seen this café I was so excited to see the location we went in and were greeted by lovely young lady and she said we needed to be seated by the front desk guy don’t know whether he was a supervisor. He asked us if we had we a booking and I said no and he went off and he came back and said we can have a table but wanted it back in an hour. He was so unwelcoming and rude I felt so uncomfortable he brought us to our seat and I felt I just want to leave the restaurant and sit out at the seafront with my sandwiches and my flask of tea which I would’ve enjoyed more as I felt so awkward. I wanted to have a nice hot breakfast but when he said he wants the table back in an hour, we just settled for a tea and a coffee and carrot cake and a lemon muffin. The tea was lovely. Husband said the coffee was lovely and his carrot cake. The lemon muffin was the driest lemon muffin I ever tasted .The waitressing staff were beautiful young ladies who are a credit to the restaurant. There was also another young man an Irish man also a credit to the restaurant but the front of desk guy needs to work on his manners on how he treats people and makes them feel unwelcome.
We were told by friends to try this location, i won't be listening to them again. Worst Club Sandwich i have ever had, how can you get a Club Sandwich so wrong, oh yeah maybe toast the bread and actually put in the Sandwich what was advertised ! The place was absolutely covered in Spider webs and dust, hanging from the arrangement on the roof. The tables were filthy dirty. What an absolute disaster. Then to make things even worse, when I was paying at the till I was asked how everything was.. I replied "Not great" and the guy never even acknowledged me !! I am lost for words to be honest !
I went this Sunday for brunch, with my husband and daughter to this restaurant, which was highly recommended by friends. Right at the entrance Shelly told us that we couldn't eat there as we didn't have a reservation. I understood, but we returned and asked her again if there was any chance we could get a seat and eat, as we were already there, and I counted 9 tables available, and several people leaving, and no one coming (it was 2:30pm), but even so, she said it would be impossible! She was pretty rude by the way. We were very upset about this, as it was clear that there were tables available, and she wouldn't let us enjoy our brunch, and experience in this beautiful restaurant. We finally decided to order take away, and William and another girl with him were amazing! Glad we decided to try the food because it was wonderfully delicious!! Just an observation: we ate outside the restaurant, and when we finished, we noticed that there were still several tables available, and that in fact she really didn't want to give us a table. We were very disappointed…
Ordered a burrito. It cost 17 euro so you would imagine it would be quite large and tasty but the "burrito" came out and it was smaller than the wraps. It was literally filled with sausage meat and rice. Bit of a disgrace actually. Service was extremely slow not sure if they were short staffed or not. But overall it really wasn't a great experience today.
Have been a regular at different gourmet food parlours for the last 8 years but won’t be back after this experience . Young blonde girl at counter was unable to take an order of 3 coffees and 2 cakes which could be excused if it wasn’t for what followed . Cakes displayed as €8 in or €7.5 takeaway which is extortionate but then we were charged a different price which was very confusing .After paying we were told there was no chai and to choose a different coffee but no refund was offered to match the price difference or even a apology . Milk was burnt and coffee looked like something from a petrol station which was ludicrous given the price . When asked for lids and carrier for coffee was told to exit a door into a different part of the building which wasn’t the servers fault but just general bad set up as what is the point in having the carriers across the restaurant and spill drinks on the way ..disappointed as used to be a great restaurant but prices increased and customer serviceand quality have clearly taken a steep decline .
I came here so many times and I always loved however after today I am not coming back. I came in with my husband and my newborn. I was there for more than 20 min and wasn’t offered even water . When we were leaving the waitress came to ask if we were ready to order but honestly … we just left. Keep in mind that it was 20 min the place was far from full and the staff was coming by all the time and said nothing. It is not a good feeling to feel extremely ignored. I left devastated.
Well, after planning a day of work we decided we will go out and have a Christmas lunch in the Malahide / Portmarnock area. After doing a google search on best Christmas lunch we booked for 08.12.2025 at 1.30pm the Gourmet Food Parlour in Malahide as they were offering the best menu on their website. We arrived about 6 minutes before our booked time but were left waiting for 10 minutes before we were seated. The menus that we were given when seated did not match what we had seen on the website but as the main Christmas Lunch with out the website starters was still on the menu we decided to go ahead with this. After been seated it was 22 minutes later when the server / waiter came to take our order. We ordered the Christmas Lunch as per the menu and he then said (no apology) that he had given us the wrong menu and there was no Christmas Lunch been served. He then shoved the correct menu in front of us which did not have what we wanted on it. At this stage we said no we will leave and try somewhere else as at this stage it will be probably be 3.00pm before we get lunch. He just said ok, no apology and just didn't seem bothered. I feel you need to take a good look at the staffing level and what is been offered on your website and what you actually get on site. I am sorry but a bad experience (despite all the good reviews) for a 1st visit means we will not be back. No review on the food as we never got to taste it Thanks
