Popped in for a meal with my family and pleasantly surprised by the lovely food and flavour combinations. Had the cod, with chive boxty and creamed leeks followed by sticky toffee pudding. Very happy with the food, and all else was very nice indeed! Will be back!

Very nice spot.. We tried the beef and the chicken burger and they were very tasty. No beer on tap, we had some IPA lager in the can. The place is very cosy and beautiful inside and the staff was always there when you need them but not pushy. We really like that.

Loved the washerwoman! We came here as 2 couples for Sunday lunch. The atmosphere inside is very relaxed but nice background music and ambience. The staff are so friendly and all have a smile, and leave you to yourselves as long as you want to be there! We got the potato hash and it was delicious, definitely the best one I’ve ever had. The coffee was really good too. We also tried the sweetcorn fritters and Nutella and banana pancakes. I will definitely come back and try the evening dinner menu, one of the nicest places I’ve ate in all of Dublin. Proper hearty Irish food.

While walking to the Botanical Gardens, we decided to grab a bite before our tour. We walked to the closest pub, and were told that they don't do food. This seemed like a strange concept, on a weekend, around lunch time, but we pulled out our phone, and found The Washerwoman. A truly excellent place, with the feel of a small pub/restaurant, excellent service, interesting menu, and delicious food. We decided that it would be a good place to get sticky toffee pudding, and it was! Can't wait to come back here again.

Ingredients they use are amazing. Everything cooked so well and fresh. Nicest chips I've had in a long time too. Would highly recommend the Dublin Bay prawns on the sourdough with seaweed butter. Portion size isn't amazing for the price so would recommend a side of salad or chips. Well worth the visit. Staff very nice!

I visited Washerwoman today. I had the nachos with beef, very generous portion and absolutely delicious. He had the Irish beef burger, which came with fries. The burger was perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection. The waiters was super friendly, and the food arrived quickly. Overall, a fantastic dining experience!

Early dinner in this restaurant that was warm and welcoming. I'm not sure why but it was the roasted veggie plate that really caught my eye this evening and I'm glad I did it. I had a full platter of deliciousness! Grilled sweet potato, braised eggplant (they call them aubergine here), brown rice and cucumber salad. A variety of flavors and textures, all full of spicy taste! A lovely meal with a tin of Irish beer. Yum! They do have the absolute tiniest restroom here. It is not handicapped accessible.

I've been here twice recently having never been before. Staff are lovely and really friendly. The food is excellent. The Korean chicken is incredible. I had wings the last time and also unreal. Definitely be back again!

A fantastic restaurant. Delicious, quality food in a classy, cozy atmosphere. The service was brilliant, they were very friendly and knew the menu inside out. My family are allergic to gluten and diary. They dealt with it with no stress or fuss, we were totally confident everything had been thought off. The waiter quietly pointed out what we could and couldn't have and how it could be adjusted for us.

This is the nicest restaurant I’ve been in in the Glasnevin area. Food was really delicious and light especially really well cooked pork and fish plus the service was really excellent and the atmosphere was lovely. I’ll definitely go again.

Evening meal at this restaurant was delightful. I can't praise staff enough for their professional service and a friendly atmosphere. It's such a busy place yet customer service and attention to details are outstanding. Food was delicious. We were impressed by how attentive yet undisruptive the service was. It's a great place to dine whether you go for a family dinner, a meal with small children or a date. We loved the atmosphere of this place. Highly recommended.

We adored this place. The two ladies taking care of us were so attentive and sweet. The food was amazing, we had the steak for two. The best brownie with ice cream I’ve ever had (no exaggeration). The drinks were delicious, she whips up a perfect espresso martini. Thank you for making my husbands birthday dinner perfect ❤️

Laid back & quaint restaurant, I'd say the vibe is somewhere between a cosy pub & a fancy restaurant which is exactly what I was looking for during my weekend away in Dublin. No draught beer unfortunately but the cocktails were amazing & made to a high standard (as was the food of course)! The service was 10/10 too!

Visited this lovely restaurant on Saturday night. Very warm and welcoming staff. There is a nice atmosphere here. The food was delicious. We ordered the wings to share for starters and then the beef burger and chilli nachos. Both were tasty. Chips were nice. The restaurant has a nice split between more fancier higher end food like cod and pork and then more rustic dishes like burgers and battered haddock. Their drinks menu offers a range or local craft beers, a great selection of wine and cocktails. Quality and price were very good. Next time we go there we want to see how their brunch menu is. There is a lack of great brunch places in the D9 area so it has the potential to be our new go to on weekends. Would highly recommend.

3 course X-mas dinner. It was beautiful ❤️. The service was excellent. ,(the 2 ladies got their steps 🪜 in) It was my first time there and I would recommend it to all. 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ l wish all the staff a Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 and a Happy New Year 🎊🥂

The experience in the Washerwoman was too tired. From the environment to the staff and the food. Nothing bad at all to say about the restaurant. Not even a single water mark on any of the cutlery or glass. I couldn't recommend this place enough.

Big fan of the Washerwoman. The people running it are ALWAYS lovely, not too in your face but still really friendly. I've been here a few times and I would recommend every thing I've tasted, delicious food well priced. Would happily recommend the Washerwoman!

A great place. The food was fantastic, and the service was really good. Lovely waitress.

Relaxed but smart local restaurant serving excellent, fresh local ingredients. Intelligent wine and drinks list. I really enjoyed the roasted trout with sweet brown shrimps, pickled fennel, cucumber, seaweed speckled mayonnaise and crushed, crisped potatoes accompanied by a delicious Chardonnay. The pumpkin fritters for a starter needed the blue cheese whip to lift them and lightened by the poached pear and pickle. I requested cheese, but was not served what was proposed, which was a shame as all 3 were quite bland. The crew were wonderful about it though. The service was polite, attentive but not overbearing. The restaurant is inside an old stone cottage - rustic, whitewashed walls. Early bird dinner was very good value €26 for 2 courses or €30 for 3.

Great restaurant in Glasnevin in Dublin, restores older building with seating at the front, inside and little courtyard out back. Well put together menu covering breakfast, brunch lunch and dinner, good range of beer, wine and cocktails. Friendly and attentive service and food is very well presented, cooked and is quite delicious. If you looking for somewhere really good in this part of Dublin then you really should drop in!!

Myself and my partner dropped in for a bite to eat Sunday afternoon last. Sat outside, despite being in the shade it was cozy. Great food , very friendly lady, overall great experience.

Enjoyed a really lovely Brunch here. 4 different dishes and everyone enjoyed their food. Portions were big and the menu had a good variety of choices. Always enjoy eating here.

Lovely cosy restaurant and extremely friendly service. Unfortunately the food was just OK- pleasant but nothing to write home about. Still, a nice cosy spot for a casual family meal.

We were part of a group of 10 people. It was good, but not excellent. Menú was very limited and very little to my liking. Because 1 person wanted a la carte, we all had to go a la carte. Odd. Parking is difficult.

Damian Kordasiewicz

when going there, I had in mind eating lunch. The service and atmosphere of the restaurant were great. I ordered the dish of the day, cod with parsley salad, for €14. It was delicious, but the dish was modest and I left hungry. I would be willing to pay a little more, just for the dish to be filling.

Dreadful pancakes.... They were the thickest pancakes we ever had approx 6cm thick. To add to the fun only a small drop of Maple syrup The full Irish only had one sausage and beans were horrible

Ordered the potato hash with bacon. It was swimming in grease. Sent it back. They did replace and not charge me for my dish. I tried the eggs Benedict instead as I was so traumatised by first dish. The Benedict was okay but not remarkable. I wouldn’t go back for food. I honestly don’t understand the good reviews

Overpriced boring and quite limited menu. Vegetarian pasta for 24eur was incredibly bleak, tasteless, zero presentation effort. Pork nachos for 18eur were OK, but this does not strike me as a higher end restaurant meal. Chose nachos, as everything else looked more expensive and not appealing. Pork main dish was OK. Starters were priced at 16 eur, again, nothing exiting there. Cocktails, although, boozy, were not quite right. Chilli Margaritas were incredibly sour and not sweet, Porn Star Martini did not have a passion fruit in it. Service, although pleasant, was incredibly slow, they could organise themselves a bit better.

Having read other reviews i was looking forward to a nice meal in the Washerwoman. Turned out to be just about ok. Waiter was quick to take our order but unfortunately food took 40+ mins to arrive. I'd like to say it was worth the wait but was mediocre at best. Underwhelmingly tasteless and overpriced. Certainly nothing to merit a return visit.

N

The food tonight was shockingly over priced and extremely underwhelming. €90 for two average tasting burgers with approx 7 chips on each plate and two child size desserts. I know its Valentines Day but that is shocking. Would not recommend...

S
Sergii Ivashchenko

Tiny portions. Experimental cuisine. They do not admit their mistakes: extremely oversalted food is claimed to be ok (a specific recipe that we apparently just don't get). Not enough attention from the staff (had to borrow fork and knife from the other table).

e
edward izota

I do not recommend the menu is very poor and for the food it’s very expensive 18 euro for nachos is a disgrace paid almost 100 euro for 2 nachos and a burger

M
Mary Quinn

Overpriced. Very limited menu. The food we were served was of poor quality and tasteless. Chips undercooked. Raw would be the correct description. No apology when we returned them. Posset was like firm instant whip. Christmas pudding awful. Aldi sells better. Just avoid it.

We would be frequent visitors to this restaurant, and always enjoy either the chicken or beef burgers which really nice and priced reasonably at €20.00, tonight the food was just bang average to be honest the menu was set at 2 piece meal at €45 pp, I was looking forward to the Ray with veg and potatoes, but it was sold out, so we both opted for the burgers normally priced at €20.00 pp with chicken wings to start, the most expensive chicken wings in ireland €25 per portion per person absolutely extortionate prices, we listen to the hospitality sector crying over costs and lack of customers blaming the lack of transport ie taxis etc for people not going out I wonder why, the government reduced the vat rate in restaurants to 9%, yet they continue to rip the public off Washerwoman restaurant you've lost a customer of over 20 years since the Kidds owned the establishment, while paying the bill by card, I was asked would I care to leave a tip on the machine, normally I always leave a decent tip, tonight I felt compelled to do so very poor customer service.
