Opinions de Marmalade Malibu
I had a Mocha Latte and the Dark Chocolate pancakes, and it was great. The food was delivered within minutes, and our waiter was very accomodationg to our tastes. The order was perfect.
Very good breakfast options. I enjoyed French toast, bacon and eggs + a cappuccino. Delicious!
Amazing dining experience. All of the staff were nice. Food was tasty, sooooo good. Huge serving. French toast has 3 slices of bread with berries and bananas. Had the hot vanilla latte and hot caramel latte. Corned beef hash with bagel, 3 poached eggs and potatoes…
Marmalade Cafe is a great local restaurant in the Malibu area. There is a large free parking lot, so no worries finding a spot. The Marmalade Cafe has a great local establishment that amplifies the Malibu beach vibe. The menu will amaze you with all the choices but I would recommend you get the cafe burger. This burger is one of the largest in the region. The staff is courteous, attentive and responsive which adds to the dining experience. Marmalade Cafe is geared for dining alone, or on a date.
We arrived right about noon on Sunday and there was no wait. Great hostess, great server, and great food. I had the corned beef hash with 3 poached eggs, homemade hash browns with peppers and onion, and sourdough bread. It was perfect and one of the best corned beef hash and eggs I have had. I was recommended to go their and it did not disappoint. My wife and daughters loved their food also (cheeseburger and fries and cheese toasty with tomato bisque soup).
Stopped by early evening on a Thursday with my 7 year old son and we had a great meal. It was very quiet, we hadn't made reservations. Our server was quick and attentive, and so was who I assumed was one of the chefs, who also checked in on us a couple of times. I ordered the Marmalade Steak and Lobster, which was cooked to my liking and tasted great. Well recommended. If we ever make it back to Malibu, I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again.
Exceptional people work here. The food is excellent. The service is out of this world. We stay outside with our dog and they gave us a bowl with water for the dog. For the dog. Try the Salmon Scramble it's killer. Our total meal was less than $40 which given the quality and sizes is not bad at all.
We had the waffle with fried chicken in a “syrup sauce”. It was very nice and it had this southern hint of sweet and salty taste. The chicken was juicy and tender but the sauce was very sweet. Altogether was a good experience as they have a wide menu. The chocolate chip cookie was great as well.
We went for breakfast/brunch and it was absolutely amazing. Everything was too perfection and it didn’t hurt that they had unlimited mimosas you could get orange juice or you could have peach or blood orange mimosas bottomless The seafood omelette. Here was good. They had pineapple upside down pancakes, which were amazing. The food was definitely a 10 out of 10.
I love this location, just off the PCH in the heart of Malibu, near a lot of other great vendors, but the breakfast overall was good just not great. We had a bad first impression because when we entered three different staff members walked by us and near us without greeting us or seating us even though we were obviously looking to have breakfast. Our waitress once we did sit down was fantastic though, and all the items came out quickly. There is a large free parking lot attached so there will be plenty of spaces. It’s quite large on the inside with a lot of different seating options for various sized groups. For my meal, I chose the Spicy Chorizo Benedict and thought it was pretty good. The eggs were cooked perfectly, but there was very little sauce on it and I really wish it would’ve had hashbrowns instead of the home potatoes which were overall kind of dry. Overall, a nice breakfast option, especially if you are in the area.
I’ve been to different Marmalade Cafe locations & at this one I got the hazelnut latte, extra shot espresso with almond milk. It was still delicious but a tad too sweet for me, perfect temperature. Customer service is great & it’s a nice breakfast spot with a lot of little shops around. I’ve had their food before and they’re usually on point, I’d recommend stopping by here before a day of beach’ing. ***update*** I tried their chicken tortilla soup, calamari & a salmon salad. The cup of tortilla soup was pretty good, good pieces of chicken and a great flavor. The calamari was ok, a bit overcooked but the sauces was on point. The salmon salad was great, solid piece of salmon and the dressing was nice and tangy.
I had brunch at Marmalade Café in Malibu and really enjoyed it. I ordered the three scrambled eggs with potatoes and sourdough bread — everything was fresh and satisfying. But the highlight of the meal was definitely the dark chocolate macadamia pancakes — absolutely delicious and a must-try! Great spot for a relaxed brunch in Malibu.
My boyfriend and I dined here for a valentines day lunch today and it was not a good experience. I ordered a turkey burger with cheddar cheese only, not that difficult and our server said it was doable. It came out with goat cheese. I sent it back and when it was returned, the goat cheese was scraped off, the patty was flipped over with cheddar on the other side. I sent it back again and when it came out the third time there was still goat cheese. I used to work in the service industry and am normally very understanding of mistakes. What Im not understanding of is bringing out the same patty. Goat cheese and cheddar are two very different cheeses and i just couldnt get past that. Server removed it from the bill and just said that the kitchen was slammed. We will not be returning and this experience was less than underwhelming.
Disappointed about the food!!! Look at the gray cream on top of the eggs ?? Avocado? Really u can see the brown stain from the bottle !!! Lobster eggs Benedicts ..hardly no sauce ?? Sad and why? Salsa not fresh! Stale cheese cake !! On a weekend ?? Think Management needs to take a closer look ,getting to comfortable having good business!! It’s a lovely spot but it’s not what it was before! But excellent job from the server !! Very friendly and not responsible for the bad food!
On July 26th, I visited this place with my family for the first time. Food is good, but service is the worst. An old, short, semi bald guy who goes by the name Packy is the rudest waiter ever. We decided to stay because we were really hungry and didn't want to search for another restaurant. At the end, on top of giving us a bad service from the very beginning, he got mad because we didn't tip him and even dared to toss my wife's card on the table in a very disrespectful way. I was very upset, but decided not to make a scene. Sir, if you want a good tip, earn it by treating your customers with the respect and dignity they deserve. We pay for your salary. First and last time we visit that restaurant. Worst experience ever.
Had the tuna asian salad, was ok. Lobster tacos ok. May have been better if my server would have asked me if I needed salt and pepper, hot sauce and also a water without a fly. The male server never told me his name but an older guy with stubble. He asked everyone around me if they were good not once did he ask if I was good. I left my table to pay. Just so he knows wo it is, I tipped him $10.00. As an event manager at a convention center, customer service is always important, you never know who is who. I only came here because my Thai place near Topanga closed down. Skip this place, unless you like bland food and bad service!
The photo on the left is what I got and the photo on the right is what they advertise. My meal did not have the pico de gallo. And I had to ask for more sauce. Over all the experience did not live up to the hype. The flavor was meh. Sauce lacked seasoning. Eggs were done properly though. Most likely will not return soon.
