I visited there to meet someone but there was no seating available so I decided to go to the next place nearby and only grab a latte. It was very good.
This is one of the best Starbucks I have ever been to. The employees are amazing & work very hard. They always have my drink ready and I appreciate it
I love this starbucks. The employees are always doing their best despite the high-flow of customers from the offices near-by. They sometimes do themes like Croissant day where they decorated the cafe and said 'Ohlala' for every croissant purchase. The manager is friendly and inviting. Sometimes there are panhandlers in the lobby but staff usually asks them to leave. I like going there in warmer weather when the tables are outside. Its a really relaxing way to sit outside in downtown newark and enjoy a lunch break. Plus i love the smell of coffee and starbucks has a great tea selection.
i LOVE this starbucks. the first time i went to this particular one, i was in newark for kcon 2018. i needed a drink, to cool down and to charge my phone. the staff was amazing and is still amazing every time i visit. i always tell my friends that this is my favorite starbucks. i'm from long island, new york, so i OBVIOUSLY am not gonna drive to this location for my favorite beverage, but whenever i'm in the jersey city or newark area, this is my favorite to go to. it's also very clean, which is a plus! starbucks customers have free parking as long as they gat their ticket stamped by the employee (bless the lord!!). it's also very open, with indoor and outdoor seating, so i love that as well. i highly recommend this starbucks location!!
Good place to grab coffee. I wasn't rushed while trying to decide whether to get a regular cookie or another item. Overall fast and efficient service.
We went to this new Starbucks location across the street from the Prudential building ( we just finished an excursion to the Newark museum). Great location (parking available in the lot behind the store with validated ticket), friendly customer service

You would imagine that I would be joking if I were to say one of my favorite Starbucks locations is the one in Newark Broad Street. However, the cafe is really clean, has plenty of seats, has a decent amount of charging outlets, and the baristas are friendly. I have also heard that prices are cheaper here than in the NYC, but I personally have not noticed. Last but not least, there is outdoor seating. If you happen to be near Newark Broad Street, drop by and get a coffee.

i ordered a java chip fraposheno and it had no java chips it was all flys! but barista juno told me it was good protein. the cup wa sticky when i got it but that is okay because juno said it was part of the starbucks experience. this barista really lives up to his mission and values. next i gone to bathroom tofreshinup which is misleading because i got yelled at when i tried to bathe!! when i got back to my seat francis stole my fraposheno!!! i asked juno to remake it and while i waited a fly pushed me off my chair (no racism). the drink was better around the second time because i asked to get it with sanitizer water instead of hole milk.
Absolutely love this Starbucks location. I go there with my daughter and the baristas are ALWAYS kind and friendly. Sometimes there’s a wait but the team are always apologizing and working as fast as they can!
As your all hopefully know, they're food isn't the greatest.l. But what they lack in food this specific spot makes up in everything else, LITERALLY! My son is homeless in Newark and not only do they help him eat, but they're superbly considerate to his humanity!

Modern newer store with really friendly efficient baristas. Expect a line during business hours, and many people use mobile order & pay here. It is slower on the weekends. Open seating area, including outdoor tables, can be hard to find a spot at times.

This is a Starbucks so you know what you’re getting but there’s some creating seating inside (or outside if it’s nice weather). The staff is very friendly and very efficient. It’s very busy during during rush hour on weekday mornings but the staff moves quickly and you never wait too long.
Was incited to a wedding nearby, decided to go here for a bit in between the ceremony and celebrations. The service was professional and quick as usual, tons of seating, very nice decor, clean windows, and not full. What more can you ask from a Starbucks?

One of the most efficient Starbucks I’ve ever been to. I mobile order every day and it is waiting for me 90% of the time within 5 minutes of ordering, even though they have an insane lunch rush. The few times I’ve ordered at the counter I’ve always had great experiences with the partners.
It's a good spot but check your packaging or the paper that they put your food in because a lady had just received her order walked out and boom her sandwich she just bought was on the floor outside. I don't know if they fixed that for her but to prevent that check. Take a few seconds and check. But the food and drink are awesome 😎👌🏿😊💓🌺

Super friendly and patient staff. Every employee is always smiling and eager to go above and beyond. A lot of the customers and “soliciting” townies of Newark give the employees such a hard time, for honestly, no reason at all. An associate named China handled my "situation" efficiently and expeditiously with a gleaming smile. She was pleasant and genuinely kind. I am not a Starbucks regular however, I would visit here again as well as recommend others to this store. Cuddos China🙌🙌👍👍👏👏👏job well done!!!!

Nice Starbucks....however they need more help it stays busy in there. My advice have servers that make drinks for pre orders and servers that just service walk in customers. Minimizing the wait time.
It's a Starbucks with the oddest hours. The drinks are the same as every other Starbucks. There was a bunch of folk working but no one was really friendly, interested or motivated. Was really a meh experience.

As a level 5 Guide, I'm giving up 4 stars to Starbucks for the atmosphere of her stores; more specifically, Broad St at Military Park in Newark, NJ! I find that the working, and up-coming, business community of the tri-state can mingle within her walls both comfortably, and safely!! As a published author, I find her store to be a place to develop and edit my stories in peace: while still offering multiple chances to network with others in the rising community, face to face!! What can I add to Google about Starbucks that everyone have not already said. Okay I know as I drive pass this location there is no street parking. Someone told they have spots in the back but I have no time for that. Venti Dark Roast is all I know maybe a pastry from time to time. In the morning when I willing to play the Ticket Game I stop. Park in the bus lane on Broad St run in order try to make it back to the car before parking officials or cops ticket you. I have played the Ticket Game on one day looked around coast is clear. I park go in Venti Dark Roast get my café go to add a Equal only to see I lost. Café $2.82 ticket $46 WTH I might as well take my time now. Go back in line get a breakfast sandwich made why not ticket looking pretty on my windshield. Truly this location is for those walking and working in the business around it not for us drivers. Now is this a classic review no but you don't me to tell what Starbucks is all about. Oh yeah side note one day I was walking got my café came out to see the moon in the afternoon so I posted the pic for Starbucks.
Can you dream for a cup of coffee? If you do, certainly a starbucks barista coffee would be the first choice. The aroma, variety of flavors and the customized choices make Starbucks my preference over all other places

Average Starbucks, adequate seating available, outlets for charging scattered throughout store. No wireless chargers available. Staff is quick and efficient with orders. No drive through though.
Can be quick, and can take forever. Where I get my early Coffee from for a very long time.
Good variety of food and baked goods and coffee was fresh, staff courteous. Hard to find seating if you're staying. Jammed busy and could use more standing room. Considering how busy, line goes reasonably quickly
I stopped here briefly while in Newark, New Jersey before meeting friends for lunch & it was a good experience. The staff were very kind, my drink was made efficiently and just as ordered. Just be aware that there are virtually no places to sit down at this location, which is why I’m dropping a star.
I normally get my coffee here and it’s typically great, but the last few times….i don’t know. They must have a new barista that doesn’t know what’s going on. I order an iced drink damn near every day and I’ve been getting hot drinks via delivery. Also, learn the difference between mocha and white mocha. This coffee is too expensive for yall to do anything you want to do and get it wrong.
Got my coffee alright, overall a typical location. Posting to let folks know that there is no parking on the street - but: there is an “employee-only” marked parking lot right behind, across from the Prudential building - and if you take a ticket from the machine, and bring it to the cashier at Starbucks, they’ll validate it for you, and you won’t have to pay for parking. Reducing stars for atmosphere only because there are no chairs and no place to sit in the branch, which may be understood since the street outside is kinda rough in terms of unfortunate folks hanging out in the vicinity. My drink was repeated as expected and was good, the parking ticket was validated on the spot.
It seems like a convenient location for most that live around there and it's pretty clean inside. I still gotta comment on how slow it can get ordering inside as they handle mobile orders faster. Since the line wasn't moving much, I had to place my order online and I was served in less than three minutes. Aside from that, the staff is courteous and handled my order with care. Loved my pumpkin spice crème!
No longer does a trip to Starbucks feel like an engaging, special, or even worthwhile experience. Might as well go to Dunkin'.
I know with Covid happening there is no indoor dining but I remember last summer they had tables outside what changed? Why aren't they doing the same this summer?
I don't like this location because there's still not a dine in area, only pick up. why haven't they put back the seating area? this is why I stopped coming here it's been this way since the pandemic hit us.
I'm very 50/50 about This location. The coffee is almost always burned, but on the other hand they have a clover machine ... One of the baristas (larger lady) is always incredibly dismissive and rude, but all of the others are crazy sweet and helpful. The location is not only ideal, but also downright beautiful (especially for Newark), but good luck finding a place to sit on any weekday around lunch time. They used to play deafeningly loud music when they first opened, but now it's a pretty mellow mood in there. But the kicker- and this is important- the wifi is bloody awful. I think their router placement is messed up because you can get a much better signal from their wifi in the store next door, and nothing at all in the outside seating area. So, it's an okay place.
Some staff are great. Others... not so much. Some of their staff have closed 30 minutes early or opened late. They just looked at me and said “we’re closed” and then shrugged when I showed them their own sign that says “open.” Because of the awesome staff, I gave them 3 stars.
Drive thru times can be a little erratic there have been times when I get through fairly quickly and others where I'm sat in the drive thru lane for up to a half hour, one for 45 minutes. Also they often get my wife's order wrong and are out of sleeves, stoppers, or straws, otherwise their products are good and the staff is very friendly.
No reflection on employees but it takes FOREVER to get 1 cup of coffee. I dont have 10 - 12 minutes to just wait for a single cup of coffee. I think they are handeling on line orders etc first so when I ask for a tall coffee they aren't getting to that order for quite some time. Dunkin is much faster. Almost immediately you get your coffee.
The food and drinks are good, but sometimes it takes too long to get your order. They only leave one person to do everything! They need more workers to help out to improve the speed of orders!
Venus was her name..and she was rude as hell! I was sitting at the bar area waiting for my iced coffee and croissant. She totally ignored me and put my croissant down and walked away, I then got up and grabbed it and went back to where I was sitting. Then she put my iced coffee in the same spot and just walked away. I had to say "excuse me miss...over here" why do they ask for.your name if they don't.have the decency to call it when your order us done.? Well she got so annoyed.at.the fact that I asked her to bring my drink two steps from where she was audibly complaining about how many call in orders she has. Just terrible customer service all around.
Ordered a Carmel trap with no whip cream, whip cream was added anyway told the young lady it was not suppose to have whip cream. She scooped the cream off with it running down the cup she put another top on it and handed to me I told her I didn't want it another one was made with a lot of milk. Will not return to this location
Love Starbucks in Newark, wish the baristas had better customer service training. I love Starbucks and am very excited to have one near work in Newark. We used to walk to the Rutgers student center and now it very close to the Prudential buildings. However, the customer service is terrible. I often do mobile ordering but the baristas do not acknowledge people when they come up to the pick up line, and do not call out mobile names. I see my drink finished and placed aside and I am like jumping up and down... that's mine!, but no one sees me. I have also had issues with them not completing my food orders as part of the mobile orders. They only do the drinks and I have to beg them to make my food.
I am usually not the one to complain, but I've experienced this many times. This particular Starbucks needs to hire employees that works faster. I don't agree with other reviews that indicated they provide quick service. I waited 20+ minutes for one drink. I think that is insane, especially when you're trying to get to work. Walk ins or mobile orders take the same time. I'm disappointed. I shouldn't be waiting that long for a coffee.
I have to agree w many of the other reviews here. The service is pretty slow in here. I'm waiting in line now...a long one...and there's only 1 person at the register. Noon seems to be a busy time for this location daily...I would think they would have more staff...if not quicker staff in place to handle it. And its hit or miss with the baristas. Some days they are nice....others....eh.
Some baristas are nice, but the other ones are rude for no reason. It's like this branch hired people and did not provide basic customer service training. I never bothered to be rude back because I don't want them effing up my orders on purpose. I equally live between both this starbucks and a dunkin donuts and some days I go to dunkin donuts just to avoid those rude people at this Starbucks.
I love Starbucks! For the first few years it was amazing 👏 Employees were friendly, helpful and professional. Slowly it began to go downhill. Today, I was told if you don't have anything nice to say, say nothing. I really miss the after dinner peppermint gum. PLEASE BRING IT BACK.
I love the location, and the atmosphere is awesome. I do hate the fact that there is only one active outlet in the entire seating area. I would like to sit there often and work, but i cant plug my laptop and phone. Such a bummer. Its the main reason that corporate people want to sit in Starbucks.
I've visited this Starbucks 3 times and each time the drink I’ve ordered has tasted terrible. It seems like the baristas didn't follow the recipes. It such a shame because its a good location.
I come here with my dog at least once per week. Some of the employees there are just the most unhelpful and uncaring employees I have ever seen there are a few good ones which is why this is Review is two stars instead of one. Today, I went there with my dog. I placed my order through the mobile app and waited almost 20 minutes for my order, which is fine, no big deal. Then, this guy brings out my order and he has no bag and no stopper for my coffee. I asked him for a bag because I’m walking my dog and cannot hold my things and he literally throws a bag at me and says here you go. Thanks now I’m standing outside, struggling to put my stuff in the bag because again, I have my dog on a leash.
I went there a few times since I discovered this place less than a month ago. But today, the most disgusting thing happened; one of your people took a perfect clean bite off my coffee cake. I should sue this place.

Waiting outside early on Friday morning. Posted that they open at 5:30am but the door is still locked at 5:57am. Employee inside saw me and shook her head no as if she isn't opening the store. I come here regularly at 5:30am and don't see what the issue is.
I was in there for 30 minutes waiting on everything. They don’t seem to go in order, a number of customers that came after me got their food or drinks before me. I’d never go to this location again.

This Starbucks is the SLOWEST Starbucks I have ever been to . There is no parking , so alot of people double park in the front (do not do this, I have gotten a ticket). I place a order for a Blonde Vanilla Latte , and every time I go in there I have to wait AT LEAST 10-15 minutes to receive my order. It is never very busy but they move slow. Even if you order ahead and then get there, you will still have to wait for your order . Now , I just drive to the Kearny Starbucks to save me the headache
i ordered a BirthdayCake Cake Pop. Once I received it have dark brown spots on it. So, i wanted a different cake pop. They no longer had any. Instead, i got a refund. i suggest they check the cake pops and have more cake pops in stock for a busy day
Its always a long wait & discrepancy when you place an order here they be looking confused on another planet when you ask for the status of your order I will never step foot in this store again! I placed a simple order today a green tea frappe & a sprouted bagel I received the wrong bagel and never received the frappe i guess they was star struck by the VMA's staff that came in long after me of course they received their order before me & left I was still there waiting i ended up asking for a refund for my frappe NEVER AGAIN!!!! They deserve 0 stars
This location is consistently slow and unorganized. Even when the line is long and there is an abundance of associates behind the counter, they only have one register open. On top of that they are always fooling around even seeing that's busy. Just SMH have had wayyyy better service at other Starbucks. Pictures of staff will soon come during next visit.
I used to come here quite frequently as I used to live nearby about 6 months ago and I loved it, however, today I visited for the first time since then and I was thoroughly disappointed. First, the woman who took my order and retrieved my coffee acted like she didn't even want to be there. I asked her what the dark roast was today and also apologized at the same time because I didn't have my glasses on and couldn't see the tags. She acted like I bothered her because she actually had to turn around and look and when she told me what is was, I could barely hear her and she had to tell me twice. Her attitude was extremely poor, especially for 6:45 in the morning. Secondly, when I got to the table and turned around to plug my phone charger in, I couldn't, because it appeared that ALL of the outlets that we, the customers use to plug our devices (e.g., laptops, tablets, cell phones, etc.) into were now all covered by blank wall plates. I have never seen a Starbucks ever cover outlets before and I hope I never have to again because I will never come back to this particular Starbucks ever again.
I’ve been to several different Starbucks and their quality is usually consistent. This particular Starbucks it never fails my coffee is consistently undrinkable. The service is pretty rotten as well I do mobile order and oftentimes the person working that area will just stare into space not even bothering to check the names as the orders are prepared.
I was disappointed with my experience at this Starbucks location. The posted store hours indicated it should have been open, but when I arrived, it was closed earlier than advertised. I knocked on the door to clarify, but the employees inside ignored me and were laughing. It felt very unprofessional and frustrating.
The manager Venus was very unprofessional she told me a drink was sold out when she didn’t even check and then she walked away from me when I was ready to order something else her attitude was disgusting to be working around people. When I went to wait for my drink I noticed that the drink I wanted was not sold out it was right in the front I had to tell her that it was right there and she said oh online it’s sold out but as a manager you should check before you tell someone something is sold out. Then she didn’t even apologize. Just rude and disgusting. I will Never go back to this Starbucks.
Look like you have to be mad all the time to work at this location. What poor customer service. Everyone has attitude very unacceptable. I have been to the store in three different occasions with different teams and they all act the same. I will avoid going back to this location.
I Drink Starbucks every day at different locations , Starbucks back in the day the have better staff and customer service now is very hard to find a nice person to greeting you at the location , I Just want to say I was in this location I wait until they open the stores and the lady her name Venus was very rude and unprofessional. Nice staff. But it really is a looooooooong wait to get your order. If you're used to NYC Starbucks shops, this Newark one will work your nerves. I stopped going there in the early AM--unless I'm getting something quick that the cashier can pour. This Starbucks really needs to step it up. Sometimes even mobile order people have to wait.
Two days in a row I wait in line, order my drink, and I am the last one in the store to get my drink. Then after waiting nearly 15 minutes for an iced coffee I mentioned that it was the incorrect size and I was told that isn’t her problem because she was busy. Nasty rude staff and people who should not be handling food I love Starbucks but for this alone I won’t go back to This location. Not to mention it missed my bus both days due to being forgotten about waiting on my drink. I even asked if my drink was ready and they were completely unsure of what I was even talking about.
Love Starbucks but this locations sucks! Lady working the pick up area gave my order to a pick up driver. I tried to get it but she said it wasn’t my order, the driver comes back 15 mins and she tries giving me the same bag… she was rude to many individuals in there. I wish I would’ve taken her name down. I had to wait 40 mins extra on top of the 15 mins because she had to get someone to remake my order… will continue to go to other Starbucks location.
Very rude people, or probably having a bad day. I don't need your attitude when picking up a mobile order! Placed an order when to pick it up, order was ready and when I grabbed my order, one of the ladies that works there, with an attitude tells me, did I tell you to grab the order? Hello it was already there and already had the notification on the app it was complete, plus you didn't even acknowledge me when enter the store. There was only 2 people there so it wasn't like it was crazy busy. Will never order from this store again.
One particular employee by the name of Eric is very rude and testy everytime I visit. Most of the staff can be rude and it seem Uber orders are prioritized over walking in customers with extremely long wait times. This particular location was also recently renovated and there is yet ample staff to accommodate. Lose the attitude and focus on service, which is lacking. Leave your attitudes and dismissive behaviors at HOME.
I can’t believe that a tall cup of coffee takes 18 minutes to make. I thought I had plenty of time ordering coffee before work and instead I ended up late. All of the workers were nonchalant taking their sweet time with so many people waiting for their order. I understand Starbucks is all about the experience, but 18 minutes on a single cup of coffee & mobile order at that is just unacceptable.
I came to this location to grab a few items. While standing in line, I saw the cashier dig in the garbage to push it down, then proceed to take my order. When she opened the loaf I ordered, I asked if she could wash her hands, as I had seen what she did. She told me they don’t touch the food and that everything is done with utensils. I asked again, saying I’d feel more comfortable if she washed her hands, and she responded with an attitude. If you are serving someone food, you should be extra careful with how you handle it. If the roles were reversed, she would be upset too. Additionally, the wait time is horrible. Despite having three workers, they move extremely slowly. Natalie moves as if she doesn’t want to work. I have been waiting for 15 minutes+ for two items ridiculous.
I arrived and waited 29 minutes for my drink and when I asked Gabby about my drink that sat on the machine for 20 minutes she was quick to give me my refund. Today I was provided poor service and unacceptable. Customer that came in after me got there drinks before me. They was in and out and I waited 20 minutes. I wish I could of gave zero stars because I would😕
This Starbucks location is by far the worst I've ever experienced. It's baffling that it has a 4.1-star rating. This isn't a case of entitlement; I worked in customer service for years, and this review stems from a genuine need for improvement. I also know others who have had the same experience at this particular location. This is the 2nd time I've had to contact corporate due to the consistent lack of professionalism from the morning staff. I placed my order on the mobile app at 7:24 and was notified it was ready by 7:27. However, upon arrival, only one of my two drinks was on the mobile order tray. Despite standing there for several minutes, no staff member acknowledged me. Finally, after a few minutes, a worker asked what I was waiting for and my name. (I am not sure why she asked because she didn’t attempt to look up my order). There was an additional coffee and wrap next to the mobile tray, which I stated were most likely mine—she did not nor did anyone else who worked there attempt to look to check if they were my remaining items. Despite my insistence, it took multiple attempts to confirm that the coffee and wrap not on the tray were mine. This ordeal prolonged my visit until 7:47, with no apologies offered. This experience does not align with Starbucks' reputation for excellent service. It's imperative that this particular location addresses its shortcomings.
